So i have pretty much decided to ditch my hero and get the epic when it is released at the end of this month because it SEEMS like it is going to be the perfect phone for me. My only concern is that everyone is talking that gingerbread is coming out later this year and I know the EPIC will just barely be getting froyo next month.
I hope that samsung has plans on bringing gingerbread to the galaxy S line of phone eventually, if not i guess thats why we root our phones, but i'm concerned on if the EPIC will have the hardware to handle gingerbread and or honeycomb. Or should i just wait until those dualcore phones come out?
The minimum requirements for Gingerbread are 512 of ram, 1 ghz processor, and a 3 inch screen. The epic meets these requirements and will likely get gingerbread due to samsungs large investment into the galaxy s series.
I dont know anything about honeycomb and thus can only speculate about it.
Rumor has it that the nexus one is the development phone for gingerbread. If that is the case then the EVO and Epic are both well within the hardware limits of gingerbread. Now is it within Samsung's or Sprint's best interests to upgrade your "old" epic or evo or make us buy a new phone when Gingerbread is GA is a different matter all together.
http://www.cellb.net/2010/07/27/android-3-0-test-build-already-running-in-the-wild.mobile
Im sure we will get at least gingerbread one way or another. Either through official channels or all the great devs out there. And when did google officially give the requirements for GB?? I was under the assumption those leaked specs were just a rumor
Those spec "requirements" were just a rumor.
I think it depends on when Gingerbread is going to come out.
Samsung seems to be really trying to get out Froyo, but most likely by the time Gingerbread starts rolling out, a new better samsung phone will be out and they will be busy pushing it to that.
I dont have much faith in Samsung, but don't honestly care as long as they release the gingerbread source code so some good developers can compile a juicy rom.
Froyos rolling out in the UK right now. It's gonna take a month for it to complete, and we should be next.
Edit: Sorry for the double post, some one posted as I was typing.

oh my god, a froyo thread with a REAL information and not total speculation! will pigs fly next!?
pigs have flown i has seen them.
Don't look up though, they'll poop on your head.
So itll take another month and then we might get it? So we are looking at another full month before it even begins in the US? Thats interesting. Im curious as to what is so different between the UK/US versions that they need a whole month more to get it ready....if this hardware wasnt so awesome i might be tired enough of the update game to dust off my nexua. Hell by the time the vibrant gets froyo my nexus may very well have gingerbread and then ebay will he my vibrants new home. Its starting to look as though all the samsung android customers were right all along to warn against getting a samsung device....when I had my g1, mt3g, and nexus, all through those I recall reading so much about how bad Samsung is about updates. But their phones blew so it didn't really resonate with me. But my wife got a vibrant and I was happy to get the free one that came with it because the hardware is definitely a step above my n1, the vibrants camera is as good as advertised.
But I wonder how many galaxy s owners had previously owned Samsung phones. Because Samsung owners are always complaining (rightfully so) about all the delays, and here I join them. So even though the galaxy s is selling out of its mind, Samsung is still dragging its feet on updates. I for one wont buy another Samsung unless its so far ahead of the game that I can't get a comparable HTC. So even though they are breaking sales records, I wonder what samsungs repeat business statistics look like. Because there are only so many people left for Samsung to alienate, these sales figures might really be misleading regarding potential if. Afterall froyo isnt a maintenance update we are waiting for spped, adobe flash and more, its a serious update and by the looks of it, if and when we do get it, gingerbread will just he released. I am uncomfortable with a phone that is an entire update period behind, makes me kinda anxious. I think with all the competition, delaying updates can really hurt a company's reputation. Aside from some glaring design negligence (camera flash, no trackball/pad, volume buttons directly opposite power button(counterintuitve/awkward to press one without pressing the other), and no extra mic for background noise, this phone is an absolute beast, with tweaks it could be the most powerful hardware until the next galaxy s phone, i love having all this power. But remaining so far behind the software will really start becoming noticeable even to the novice, as features are advertised for newer software on newer devices and people wonder why they don't have the features even though they ostensibly have the software...
OK yea so I just ranted and wasted several valuabke minutes of your life. In turn I hope you will all feel free to waste my time on this forum any time you'd like to ; )

Yep. Samsung sucks.
I might dump mine and dust off my 3Gs, and wait to see the new hardware with Gingerbread.
Tired of the update wait, tired of the crappy battery life.
BTW, Gingerbread is about to be out -- I never thought it will be out before the Galaxy S got bumped to Froyo. So much for a flagship.

What sucks is that Gingerbread, yet rumored is supposed to launch this month yet. It's sad that we don't have Froyo yet and yet there's talk of Gingerbread launching. The "Nexus 2" was the only phone as of yet to come with Gingerbread though isn't it? (might be others..) Still sucks we are waiting for 2.2 yet the MT2G has froyo and the Droid Series does.
The rumored date for Gingerbread is Nov15, maybe we will get 2.3 instead of 2.2 =D Wishful thinking.

The fact that a Samsung phone is getting Gingerbread first makes me a LOT less worried about getting it on our Vibrants soon. It should be much easier to port.
So the wait for FROYO has taken a while. I expect the wait for Gingerbread to be a lot shorter.
And everyone that's so frustrated with not having FroYo is frustrated...why? I assume all of you are running totally stock phones without any kind of modifications whatsoever?

I'm running stock with root and removed the bloatware.
I'm more frustrated at the fact at how much time it's taken to push the update. Samsung promised we would get 2.2, didn't say when, but did say we would get it. Yet we are going on 4 months now and "possbily" getting it Nov-Dec?
I love the phone, but the JI6 destroyed the battery life, that's my only problems. GPS is okay, still needs fixes but hopefully that will come.
I just want Samsung to support the damn device and not screw us. Watch, the UK Galaxy S will get Froyo and when time comes for us to "have it" they'll pull the switch-a-roo and say "Oops, it doesn't work so you won't get the 2.2".
For a phone that sold millions its pretty ****ty of Samsung to not be updating their **** fast enough.

I've only had this Epic for almost a month and am very satisfied with it so far. But its getting pretty old looking on xda everyday to see someone new complaining about not having Froyo. You got what you paid for people, you bought a epic with 2.1 eclair on it, do you buy windows xp and then when windows 7 comes out you complain they won't upgrade you for free? There will always be something better and something new out there or up and coming you can't expect companies to sit there and keep working on things of the past they have to make money as well and they have to compete with each other and try to stay on top. I'm not saying I don't think they shouldn't release it for us I'm just saying you realy can't blame them for moving on with other phones as well. And if you think 2.2 is gonna make your phone that much better then go get a vibrant from tmobile bc I put 2.2 on my girlfriends phone last week and it didn't do much of anything for it, its just software sure your battery is a little better or the system runs a little smoother your not changing what you physically have the hardware is what it is and you knew all of this before buying the phone and if you didn't then you had 30 days to do some research and return it to sprint.

Alright, I'll bite.
most of us did not buy our epic's having seen a forum full of people dissatisfied with samsung's ability to upgrade their phones. I for one bought my phone on launch day. August 31st 2010. It was a sunny day, there was a nice breeze. I was young without a care in the world. I saw a phone with very formidable hardware and better yet, a promise from samsung that the device would see 2.2 in the very "near" future.
Now I don't know what you paid for your phone, but I paid retail price plus tax. If I had known I was actually paying for an education about what it exactly it means to buy a samsung phone I would have looked elsewhere.
that being said, theres one thing I can't stand and that is people such as yourself who waited until after people bought the phone and realized that and official update in a timely fashion not likely, accepted that risk, and then come here to rub it in the face of those who care about things like kernel sources, and custom roms to tell us about how we should all be as smart as you with your divine phone selecting savvy. I can't say that I speak for everyone, but I can certainly speak for myself when I tell you sincerely to gtfo.
yours truly, cozmonot
Ok to someone like yourself I understand that you did not know what you were getting yourself into and I'm not trying to say that someone such as yourself that bought the phone right when it came out doesn't have a right to be mad. I never said I had waited to buy this phone for any reason its just when I see ppl on here that say they just got the phone and now are mad they don't have 2.2 yet its disturbing. I understand we need kernals and source to make better roms and things, I myself am running Nebula and have been since the first week of owning this phone, so as with the rest of you I myself would like it so my rom can be further upgraded. The main thing I was trying to get at is that complaining about how we don't have it isn't getting us it I did not mean disrespect for someone like yourself and I don't think I have any better taste for phones than the rest of us we all chose this phone for whatever reasons but I don't think anyone chose it bc it was going to have 2.2

I agree in that people complaining here doesn't really accomplish much. Apologies, I probably shouldn't reply to threads when I'm angry and tired.
I think we need to make our voice heard by sprint and samsung if we want things to actually happen, and complaining to people in the same position can't make things any better. just look at the vibrant owners who threatened a lawsuit and got the mainstream blogs to post about the vibrant not having froyo, didnt they get the update like a week later? I agree with what you said in your second post and I wish I had known about what I was getting myself into back in August when i signed on the dotted line.

I bought the phone because of the hardware and because it was stated that 2.2 would be coming soon. I don't understand how people like you can just accept that You have the phone with the best hardware specs on the market at the moment and not be pissed that it doesn't have 2.2. While I agree that coming on xda and starting multiple threads on if FroYo is out is not the most productive way of dealing with the problem, bending over and submitting that because you paid money for the device and knew that it had 2.1 on is just a cop out.
To answer your question on what does FroYo add, here is just a few.
- What about all of the people who spent $30 to $50 on official samsung docks and can't even use it to the fullest without FroYo. IT EVEN SAYS ON DAMN PACKAGING THAT FULL FUNCTIONALITY WILL BE UNLOCKED WITH THE 2.2 UPDATE.
- What about bluetooth voice dialing, JIT, flash, and the updated google apps that come with 2.2, not to mention the speed increase. The FroYo update for the Vibrant doesn't count in this case because everyone knows that update was rushed because of the lawsuit business, and that lead to a bugged release.
And if none of that convinces you, the fragmentation of the market is the best example I can give. Do you know how annoying it is to find an app that you know your phone has more than enough power to run, but it won't even show up in the market because it only works on FroYo and up? IT'S THE ****ING PITS DUDE. For example there is this game that some (ex-sony I think) devs called Lame Castle that I really want to play, but it won't work on galaxy s phones without FroYo. Look it up on the market with Epic, it won't even show up. Now go on appbrain and its there clear as day. There are numerous examples of this, but this is the one that affected me that most.
So when you say that we should have know better and should not be upset, all I can say is that I hope you continue to enjoy the anal that samsung and sprint have given you so far. There's a lot more to come.
It was my first Android. It was cool at first, but just wanted FroYo and refused to get the Evo because the screen sucks and no keyboard.

I would have to say my favorite part about what you said was when you said Froyo for vibrant was rushed and has bugs. Because that could be us, we could have a rushed crappy edition of froyo. I understand that it makes it better and we can't do somthings without but if your life won't go on because you can't play some game on your phone (unless somehow you've got a job doing mobile gaming) then it might be time to look at some new hobbies or just pay your way out of contract so you can go get a phone with froyo that will make you happy as a little kid in a candy shop. But it must not be that bad if your willing to wait it out and hope one day you will wake up and see an OTA.

Anyways android is a grey point right now as with your reference to XP you could pay to upgrade to vista/7 (driver / hardware supporting of course) where with android everything is kept under wraps so by the manufacturer until weeks or sometimes months after their "official" software is released and only then can some reverse engineer everything to get what they need to develop.
Hopefully the future of android can be like computer operating systems. Manufacturers only make drivers that way google can push out their own updates or at least give us the ability to do our own.

About the Vibrant, their is no excuse for that buggy release at such a late push date. The carriers have had FroYo since November and and have taken their own sweet time working on it. To add insult to injury, Every other carrier with a Galaxy S phone has pushed out FroYo since November. They even started getting 2.2.1 about two weeks ago. Even the number five carrier in the states, U.S. Cellular, has had FroYo out for its captivate out for about a month and a half now. And guess what? That update went off without a hitch. I also like how you were able to boil down my argument into the my statement about Lame Castle, which in my circles is very important because I'm going to school for that kind of thing, and Vibrant update which I would have even if I didn't have months of knowledge on the situation here and everywhere else that Galaxies are sold. You just get your phone and feel like preaching to me on how I should just take this ****. I bought this phone months ago knowing I would be with it for two years and expecting on Samsung to hold up to their statement of by the end of the year. Its a month into 2011 and still nothing. If you find your epic fine on 2.1, all power to you. But their are people with docks, people that want to make hands free calls while on the road, and people who just want full access to the market, who have all the right in the world to complain over this mess.
Note: Make multiple threads on XDA is NOT the way to go about it though people.

I decided to get THIS phone for the desired features AND the promise of 4G and 2.2 before the ed of the year. While you are entitled to your opinions, I certainly don't appreciate labeling and especially not when you do it from the safety of your keyboard. It just isn't called for.

I didnt read the majority of the posts, I apologize....just want to put in my two cents and I guarantee it'll still be on topic.
People here have the right to rant. They have the right to be angry. They bought a true high end Android phone and are still on 2.1. That's not right... I have an Evo and an Epic...and the difference between 2.1 and 2.2 is really just the Flash (I'm not including what Samsung through in there based off of the leaked roms. Because some of what they through in there was just polishing up the UI and stuff). And Flash isn't really that big of a deal, its just one of those things that is nice to have. But thats beside the point. It doesnt even matter if the only thing different between 2.2 and 2.1 was a damn ringtone...a high end Android phone should be updated. If you don't update these phones, then why would someone shell out extra money to buy another high end phone that will share the same exact features as a low end phone? True the High end will be faster, but it really needs to have something to separate itself from the low end phone and that something should be the fact that it will always be supported...
And this is the problem with Android and this is what makes me sick about it. Android is great...but dammit...they need to relax on these phones and focus on the ones that are out now. They just keep on taking our money, and its going to get to the point where no phones will be updated, they will just keep releasing phones with the new update. And they know people will straight up go buy the new phone just for that update, just to realize that it aint even good. I started with the Evo before the Epic and if I wouldve went from the Epic to the Evo just for 2.2, I wouldve been pissed the hell off. 2.2 is not worth it at all...well, lemme put it like this: 2.2 by itself is not worth it. Although it aint worth it, this high end phone should still have it. If the Evo has it...the Epic should have it. The Evo will probably get Gingerbread and that'll be a damn shame...it won't benefit from it at all...
I mean, when you look at this 2.2 update from different angles, you can see why people rant and get mad. They have the right to...now if we could just put all of it into one thread that would be a lot better than multiple threads...but its w/e.
Also, does anyone else think that nothing else will top Android but Android will "destroy" itself? Android has already destroyed itself with me, if the iPhone hits Sprint, I'm jumping ship.

i for one would love for them to release their bloated version (even though i wont use it!), because that means we get KERNEL SOURCE!
how i miss my BLN, voodoo sound/colors, undervolted/overclocked kernels!
Well.... I had high hopes when he came a long. But, It has been too long, I will NEVER buy samsung again. It has been confirmed that I will buy HTC from now on. They are fast with updates, and well over all a better company. Buy Sammy, I am going to get rid of this POS phone ASAP.

Yes, Samsung is creating Froyo builds for our phone and sending them to Verizon just for fun, and neither have any intention of ever releasing it. Get real, they may be stupid, but they would never put resources into something that's never getting released.

I won't say never, but.......
I bought my device with the OS it had, I don't really feel that I am owed anything else. BUT, The GPS was a fail on mine until I loaded the leaked 2.2 roms. It would take many minutes to lock, if it ever did lock.
This phone charges at about a 300ma rate on USB, and at about a 600ma rate on a high rate charger. Using it in a car as a GPS (bright screen, constant processing) consumes closer to 1000ma. So, while on charge in the car as a GPS, your battery is going dead. That is a failed hardware design.
After using the phone for a time again as a GPS in the car, the buttons (back, home etc.) start blinking and any apps close down. The phone becomes worthless. I need to unplug it, pull the battery and let it cool off for 10 minutes or so before it is useable. VZW and Samsung say 'don't use it like that!'. What? My previous HTC phone would do this for days on end. More hardware fail.
Needless to say, I am not overly impressed with the Samsung hardware or the software. Like I said, I'm not going to say 'never', but this is wearing thin...........
I'm a little pissed because when I bought the phone from verizon I asked the rep if if had 2.2. She said, "no all our phones ship with 2.1 but are all have froyo updates that you can do from home." We should all get free thunderbolts for our troubles.

She didn't lie to you. You can get 2.2, from home, when they release it.
I love how my desktop doc user manual says "The audio line out jack will be fully functional upon the release of android 2.2 for samsung galaxy s phones. To update your phone to android 2.2, visit samsung electronics web site at www.samsungmobileusa.com."

+1 for free Thunderbolts, although I have my eye on that new LG Optimus duel core.
It's telling that even the rumors have died down. A couple months ago searching for "fascinate froyo" would pull up speculation and rumors galore. Now, nothing pertinent. This is long past a fail.
I'll decide what phone to get next based on what there is at the time. But both Samsung and Verizon will be at substantial disadvantages in the comparison.
OK now that sammy said so here it has to be soon NOTthey have said that it would be coming for seven months. We already have froyo, and ton of roms
I know we have Froyo already, but how about a version that doesn't have battery destroying wakelocks? I am still looking forward to an official release that will hopefully be less buggy than the Froyo we have now.

At this point Froyo is meaningless, as it's been seven months since it was promised to be out "very soon." Having source would be great, but it's too late for Samsung; epic fail. They had better redeem themselves with a surprise (and quick...as in ACTUALLY QUICK) Gingerbread release instead of Froyo, otherwise they will lose a ton of customers, including me.
With Samsung, it appears to be one jerk job after another. By the time they roll out 2.2, a lot of us will be ready for another upgrade, and guess what, we're going to think long and hard about buying another Samsung product. I like my Fascinate, but only because we have the leaked 2.2. If I was still on 2.1, I'd most likely be using a different phone by now.

You said it! Heck, we'll all probably be on different phones by the time Samsung releases Froyo, because our TWO YEAR contracts will be up by then.
We want a bloated Froyo so that we can get source code! That's what has been holding us back with development! I'm so sick of all these empty promises. "You'll get Froyo in September. No wait, November." "Er, we meant, before the end of 2010!" And as 2011 began, "it's coming soon!" 3 months later, it's the same empty promise of soon, so they send John to post here and attempt to keep us at bay. Samsung can shove it. It's completely unacceptable, and I am so tempted to submit this to the Better Business Bureau. We can't even use accessories that we purchased a long time ago, because we still don't have 2.2. This phone should go EOL and we should get free Tbolts, as someone said earlier. These are unacceptable practices, and I'm pissed about it. I don't know how Samsung is getting away with it.
Samsung hasnt confirmed that there would be a official android 4.0 update for samsung i9000. So does this mean we will not get it as a official update? Cuz there is alot of other samsung phones that have been confirmed.
The SGS is almost 2 yrs old,so I'm assuming Samsung might have given up on us.But then again, till it's confirmed, nobody can know for sure.Besides, even if the official ICS for SGS is out,we're gonna end using the custom ROM anyway

Maybe if we make a few more threads about this we will get an answer? We're probably only 10-20 more threads away if we just keep at it.
Hopefully Samsung hears the pleads of i9000 users and gives us an official update so the devs have a Easyer time giving us the roms.

I will look forward to getting an official answer to this question.. but SlvrWolf~XP makes a good point...
It will probably be unlikely for Samsung to update our Galaxy S i9000 to ICS since we've already gotten update TWICE (not many phone brand and models got such privilege, Eclair > Froyo > GingerBread). And Samsung may want to make both Galaxy S I and S II (with Nexus S) differentiated so that more people are encouraged to buy the newer phones...
I think SGS will not get ICS
Read today info from Samsung Mobile https://www.facebook.com/notes/sams...ch-upgrade-for-galaxy-devices/328795820483403
Yeah, they just announced on twitter too, seems like Galaxy S is not in the update list.
Well, a port from ICS on the Nexus S should work just fine.
I wonder what their reasons are for not updating the Galaxy S, obviously it's not platform limitations since the Nexus S got it, shame on Samsung, hope they loose lots of costumers .
(BTW I have a Nexus S but I'm pissed for Samsung's attitude!)

Things is who are they going to lose customers to? HTC and Motorola phones from early-mid 2010 aren't going to get it either. The answer for updates is to get a Nexus phone from...oops.
The whole landscape of branded devices sucks not just Samsung, but I guess 'the grass is always greener' and people will just move to another manufacturer with little or no research into the facts of whether they are actually better for updates or not. If we take a look:
Moto announced a list of devices...not even the Atrix dual-core phone released in early 2011 was included, although it may be added. Anything from 2010 you can probably forget it.
On the HTC side the phone that came out at the same time as the SGS, at least around here, was the Desire. They had a heck of a time getting gingerbread to run on that apparently, ICS is probably out of the question, so no improvement there.
Basically anywhere I look only phones released within the last year are getting ICS officially. The grass isn't always greener, although I suspect many will jump over the fence without taking a very close look. Again the only real answer is a Nexus, unfortunately this iteration is a bit disappointing so myself I'm going to try and hold out for the next one although I admit at this point a year seems very far away.
and think of it from a business POV st's not good business practice to have complete support for an old platform, I mean look at MS the ONLY reason they still support XP is because of businesses, though that's slipping away furthermore 2 year contracts are common place for phones nowadays due to most being smartphone related so people who own the SGS back in 2010 are now due for an upgrade anyway so it won't bother the main bulk of consumers.
Personally I'm planning on waiting it out for the SGSIII so regardless the i9000 gets it for most is irrelevant.
Not a surprise for me and I don’t care what Sammy is doing.
Long live CM9
Well the thing is not other do... the thing is Galaxy S is still with a shi#y firmware after all this time. Not even on its "death" there is not a stock rom to make it perform as it should. Cmon' take a look at CM7... now imagine a Samsung built ROM based on it, even with all that crappy TouchWiz.. great camera, 720p recording, great battery life, fast as light.
Now... how can I buy another phone from them, knowing that maybe it will never work as it should. When SGS was released everybody said how fast it is, king of the hill... wth, it was crawling... Unfortunately, Samsung has Gorilla glass, has Amoled, low prices.... HTC has gread build quality, no Gorilla, no low prices, high performance....
Very disappointed by Samsung.
This is a high end device released in 2010 and already abandoned.
The S1 is perfectly compatible with ICS, this is pure business, or how to force
people to buy a new phone they don't need. Planned obsolescence, just like apple (but even Apple or HTC offer better software support...)
Of course there will be unofficial roms, but imho it's never the same quality as an official one.
Next time i'll choose an official google nexus device.
Samsung forgot his smart baby snif
Cyano is here, fortunatly, to give GS1 users a good Ics experience
Samsung lost me as a customer if they choose not to update the SGS. I've already said I'll never buy a Samsung phone in the past because of their lack of support and lack of timely updates, but this now goes to anything Samsung.
I have a Samsung laptop and a Samsung TV, both of which I'll be replacing with a newer model in the coming weeks, but now those replacements will not be Samsung models.
I wouldn't be upset if there was a hardware compatibility issue like lack of memory, but there isn't.
It's perfectly capable. As for this 18 month thing, fine. Let them use that. But my i9000m only has 2.3.3 while the rest of the world has 2.3.6. They stopped updating my phone a long time ago, so they didn't even give me 18 months since they stopped me at 2.3.3 with all it's problems.
HTC even gave some of their older phones gingerbread by scaling down HTC sense to accommodate hardware limitations. Yet Samsung won't with no limitations for ICS.
The Galaxy Nexus was a phone I was thinking about, but no longer. I'm not going to line Samsungs pockets anymore. I'll wait to do my upgrade to the Next Nexus that hopefully will be made by a different manufacturer.
Samsung screwed their update processes with the million incarnations of our phones. Updates are too hard and lengthy for them to complete because of this, so they are taking the easy way out.
Samsungs war with Apple? They just sent a lot of SGS owners their way. At least you know your phone well always get updates provided the hardware is capable, even if they have to scale it down like they did on the 3GS.
I for one will never buy Apple, but count me in the camp of never buying Samsung again too if I don't get ICS officially from them.
My apologies for my rant.

Here i come apple, samsung made me to. 3GS is older than sgs and it runs iOS5 from this year. Something android phones can just dream on.
I agree with you Greeced.
The SGS has been well maintained to date.
But the samsung's update policy is just catastrophic.
In some countries, people don't even have an official gingerbread update trough Kies.
Samsung sold millions of SGS in the world (the device is still available in most countries). Their policy is unacceptable. And it's too easy to blame the operators.
Next time i'll choose an official google nexus phone (regardless of the manufacturer) because they are always good phones and it's a guarantee to have a long-term support.
To everyone that says "x company will lose sales", while that may be true, how many of the millions sold are used by people who have knowledge or interest in the latest android? Many buy the phone and enjoy it and use it, and just don't care or aren't particularly bothered by the update pattern.
What I find amazing is that the Galaxy S Plus isn't even on the list and that's what, 6 months old?

I believe that is the mentality that they want the market to have...mission complete.
