Hi Guys,
Here in france, we only have the option of the M110S Galaxy S and not the i9000.
Since I am very interested in changing the rom to a non-touch wiz rom and since we do not have a M110S section here, does that mean that the same process etc can be used with both?
I would appreciate any help on this topic.
As far as I know the M110S is the korean version. In France as well as in Europe, they only sell the i9000. I wonder how you ended up with an M110S...
Looking at the phone specs and pictures I can't see any differences between it and the Galaxy S, so I'm curious as to why it has a different model name?....
Is it CDMA or something? As to my knowledge all i9000 are GSM, so that's the only thing I could think of.
well.. i havent bought it yet. i browsed through the website of orange and matched the pic to the m110s..
I'll have a look at it and confirm..
na we have the i9000 in France
Orange doesn't even have it yet (although there are ways to get it through shops like the phone house and all).
So far only Virgin, Bouygues/Universal Mobile have it in shop
phonehouse.com and phoneandphone.com have them.
Bought mine at phoneanphone.com and couldnt be happier.

DMB, different firmware (and hence different software, no swype, no social app, some features like swipe left/right in contacts for text/phone call are gone), I believe a different radio. DMB and a quicker Froyo launch are big wins, the rest is BS that pisses me off

Hi Chrisluffy25,
I would like to ask you what issues have you encountered when using the galaxy s m110s (korean version of galaxy S) in the philippines?
i heard there are some problems compared to using the galaxy s i9000 in the philippines.
Appreciate your inputs.
ahaha.. i said that no froyo at all but im in froyo now without rooting the phone...and oh yes!! it was a great device but as i said.. dmb tuner is useless maybe until 20 years from now..
how much do you planning to buy?

I have to say since doing the froyo update i'm totally happy with the phone. With the new update just round the corner and reported to be running faster and Samsung's best fw yet, i think it's only going to get better!
(Crosspost from SGS forum)
Based on the GT-I9000 SGS for us outside the states, I've had a bash at comparing the Nexus to my Galaxy and put up the differences, improvements and disappointments to try and help anyone on the edge decide which phone is better for them:

No more official update for galaxy 3 sad.

Hmm let me see. Look what I found in Galaxy 3 Development forum. See here.
I would advice you to read everything in that link and then post.
not at all surprised, everyone knew this.
Nothing new there. I think almost everybody here knows this.
We dont need one. As we have great developers here ;-)

Even galaxy fit is getting gingerbread but why galaxy 3 don't get it?
We're getting 2.3.4 via Cyanogenmod so please help Sebastian!
But cynogenmod will take time to be stable with all working. Atleast another 2-3 months looking up on the progress. No offence just saying it.

galaxy fit was launched with 2.2 and our g3 with 2.1 so we got our 2.2 and fit will get their 2.3
what samsung does is it ignores its low budget phones and gives them one ****TY BUGGY UPDATE to keep our mouths shut.

hi
to my knowledge In India the G 3 is end of life as per the talk i had at the samsung show room at Bangalore so not surprised that we wont get off update
but why worry we have some great developers here im a 1000% sure they will find out a way to get it for us.
HTC tattoo is a far less powerful phone and im running 2.3.3 & with every thing working on it Yes camera, blue tooth, wifi,GPRS, everything working fine
& iv been using it for more than one month (the phones in India are only 2G)
so for us it should not be a problem its just a question of time that's all

Galaxy fit is new. They have to upgrade it at least once. From froyo to GB.
My dad has a Samsung captivate(SGH-i897)(captivatemtd)(AT&T version of the original Galaxy S), currently running an official cm11 build.
I see that you don't support it (don't blame ya), but I also see that you support the Galaxy S (i9000).
The specs look identical to me... is it possible that the Galaxy S build would work on his Captivate?
Sorry, I'm new to this.
Thanks though!
