Please read i need help :-) - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

ok so, im stressed i cant for the life of me get the g sensor working in any build with any kernal..... ive tried everything all different wm roms different kernels different scripts different builds even tried the ace build and i still have no g-sensor at all, no crashes no anything......
please will some one kindly try and help me im running out of ideas.....
just to help its not build related ive tried to many
ive caliberated in windows
ive done fresh instals with task 29 and full sd format
ive ran scripts
it works in wm
autorota is turned on and cm6 boxes are ticked
polease please please will some one give me a lil bit of their time

i think most of the newer builds have fixed most of the g sensor problems. i'm using mattc's 1.8 and its working fairly well with most freezes gone. if you want to use a certain build that the g-sensor isn't working in just use gscript to turn it off.

Try an Evo based kernel maybe evo build as well I'm using the desire hd build and haven't had a freeze since I started using it the day it came out.
sent from my desire hd2

Thanks for trying
I've tried all the different kernels and mist different builds
What should g script day after I run g script on script

Usually nothing, run the script it will do fast as hell then the closing countdown will begin, you never really get time to see what it's done.

whats goin on with the data in new builds

last 3 builds i installed im having some serious data connection issues.
it drops in the middle of browsing internet or app market.
am i missing something here?
never had this issue with previous (4) builds
it was the darkstone hd2 build
and now Mdeejay_FroYo_Sense_v._2.3_Clean__15
mattcleofroyo1.8 was fine ( this one was the most stable build i used after the first froyostone)
but decided to try and see whats the chefs been cooking and now been stuck reinstalling all this sht again and again because of different issues with every build.
I suggest you write in the rom thread (what ever rom ure using), because its easier to help you there
well thanks for suggestion but those threads are overpopulated by "thank you great build" replies and every question gets lost there.
and also my last 3 builds shared same issue which is no data connection. thats why im posting here
yea I get this, it does seem to be the difference between the r11 kernel and the new evo based ones, mattc builds had perfect data
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
is this the PPP issue then?
how are others reporting it to work then?
mattc build was still the other system(RMNET) correct?
can i convert the mdeejay build to the RMNET then?
If I remember rightly mattc switched to PPP when it arrived. PPP is still unstable for me but its getting better with recent updates in the kernel

[Q] My 'Android HD2' Thinks its an HTC Legend?

Hello all,
I need a little help with this one..... I have been using Android as my main build for a while now (a few months), trying out different builds from all the Devs out there (thankyou all by the way), but im stuck with one issue. No matter what built i use on a fresh formatted card, my HD2 thinks its an HTC Legend. So, when i sync my phone to the PC, the picture of the HTC Legend is displayed. Also, some games want to operate with the HTC legend toggle stick, which obviously the HD2 doesnt have!!!
I really am missing the point somewhere, as its obviously not the android build that defines what phone my HD2 should be!!!!
What do i need to change?
I look forward to all your expert help on the matter.
Thanks

It may be that the builds of Android that you are using are based on the HTC Legend, so your phone will be that. Check you phone stats in you settings and see if it says the same thing.
Ok,
To make sure im not going mad.... that current build im using is MDJ Revolution (ACE) build 1.2. Now im pretty sure this is Desire HD build right?
Or does this mean its built to look like the Desire HD

This is from TyTung's build page:
NexusHD2-FRG83D V1.8 PPP + RMNET
This is the latest, fastest, stable and clean *stock* Android build for HTC HD2.
This build includes Google Nexus One's OTA update (FRG83D - Android/Froyo 2.2.1). (released on Nov. 18, 2010)
Hey Deadmansink,
Thanks for your reply..... tried the Nexus build you recommended, but alas.. it does not sync to the pc (No option avail.). I pressume it is the Android build that defines the phone type, as you have mentioned and i have been just very unluck with my choice of build. Builds i used alot include the MDJ (ACE) as quoted before, MDJ Froyo HD, PhireMod Skinny Evo. I will look into this a little further, to make sure im not just being a Plum!!!
check out darkstone's build
Ok Everyone,
I have been conducting further research into this and i have read about looking at 'build.prop' inside the system of Android. I have looked at this file and i cant find anything that relates to the HTC Legend issue i have, or am i way off track here?
On the same subject, is it possible to change the 'Phone Model inside my current Android Build?

I think that you need to do a "Task29", the link is in my thread, it cleans the phone. Reformat you SD card, and do it as FAT32, within the phone, don't format on computer. Start from scratch. Sometimes, from switching out ROMS, poo-poo gets left behind and now it's time to pick it up because you're getting flies...huh?

It is located in system/etc/cid/default.xml
But you need a fresh data.img to apply the name.

[Q] Netflix on HD2 - Anyone Have It?

I tried to download the Netflix app from Marketplace, but it said my phone is not supported. Has anyone one here been successful getting Netflix to work on their HD2 with Android? Where can I get the apk to try it out? Thanks for any help.
I'm using 2.2.1, CleanDroid V1.11 (based on CMN 2.0 by ocm7)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13730645&postcount=11
Thanks
Thank you! I'm going to try it now. I searched for Netflix in the HD2 Android forum bit didn't find it.
I installed it and it starts to play and stops then go's back to main queue. I am using CMYLXGO'S Stock Desire v.1.1.15 Leo1024 I hope this helps
Works perfectly on HyperDroid-CM7, although I would expect nothing less considering the quality of pongster's Rom's.
Great on Nexus One HD2
I think Sense, especially Desire-based builds don't work. CoreDroidv1.6 does the menu loop after loading the video.
works perfectly on nexushd2-gingerbreadv2.7, i think it performs best on certain roms because its supposed to be out for specific phones like desire hd and nexus s i think
Netflix working great on my HD2
I'm using CyanogenMOd-7.0.2.1 - Desire [TyphooN_v3.1.1-MAGLDR]
Installed the app and it worked right away!
No problems so far on HyperDroid-GBX-v12.
I just tried a Desire HD build and I am getting the boot loop as well, I wonder if changing the build.prop trick will work
Finally found this

freezing when data connected

Im using hyperdoid gbx nand rom and ive tried with all 3 partition sizes and any nand rom i use if data is turned on it freezes when i do anything that uses it such as synching using the browser youtube market. It was freezing when i tried the sense 3.0 roms like crazy never thought it was the data connection but now im positive it is. I used to use my old g2x a while back before sense 3 came along with sd builds then nand builds and never had a problem with the phone freezing. By the way it never freezes using win mo so its not hardware related and it never freezes when using wifi. But i like to stream music in my car and be able to search for things when im not near wifi. I cant find anything from searching that resolves or even explains this problem. Is there a fix?

This should be posted in Hyperdroid GBX thread.
I did post in hyperdroid but considering its also doing it in any android nand rom i try i figured it isnt a hyperdroid specific problem.

ha ha ha!!

life in the old dog yet

So i took the leap and had a go at rooting my phone yesterday,,, very nervous few minutes waiting for it to boot,,,,, but it did and I'm now rooted , used the AAHK and it was'nt so hard after-all, just follow the effen manual closely.
First rom i've tried is revolution HD and it works beautifully, faster and smoother than before for sure,,, also looking forward to flashing a few other roms .
One thing im not sure about though , ive created a nand backup and just wondered if i need to flash the associated rom before restoring the backup,, or can i just boot into recovery and flash the backup regardless of what rom im running ?
Yup. You can restore the backup at any time. If you have 4ext recovery you can just flash the backup without wiping. It does it automatically. Don't know about cwm...

thanks mate,,
So many roms to try out, not sure where to start, i guess stability is quite important to me and ARHD seems to do that quite well.

Welcome! I was in the exact same position as you 2 months ago, unsure where to start. I remember when stability was important to me... Not sure if you've seen it, but just FYI: the index sticky in the dev forums was very helpful to me when I first rooted.

Just a little advice..
It's always handy to have your apps backed up so that you can restore them to the ROM you are testing.
TitaniumBackup does a great job. You can backup the apps data as well as system data. But if you are restoring them to a different rom, u should not restore all system data because it will mess things up. However, restoring your apps (user apps) with or without data is harmless

Try JellyTime (android 4.1.1) and it is very fast n smooth... but wait for R10 release thats due any day as there's a few very minor issues with v9.1.... v10 should be close to perfection.

I am in a similar position. Recently rooted the DHD and now trying to decipher all the lingo on here and work out which roms to use. Is rather overwhelming.
First one I tried was the IceColdSandwich which was working pretty well till a few days ago when it has slowed down a bit. Im guessing it must be something I did. Gonna clear everything out and try again.
Thanks for the links guys, will check out all the information
Thanks guys for the helpful info,,
After you've flashed a few roms , it's not so difficult after all,, very easy actually,, with 4ext it's easy peasy.
Tried a few different roms now,,, think ARHD is my favorite so far although I tried jellytime and really like it a lot,,,
Love the notifications and overall style of it but not so sure about the camera, gallery and Apollo music apps,, love the HTC camera app.
Tried one of the sense 4 roms and I prefer sense 3.5 actually,,
Will definitely be keeping a close eye on how jellytime develops,,,

ARHD gives good stability and battery life, but mike hasn't been able to keep it updated very frequently.
Now he has a lot of other devices on which he released ARHD.

Some apps slow down the overall ROM, but some ROMs tend to slow down themselves after a couple of days of usage.
It could be that this is ROM related, you could ask in the ROM's thread, maybe someone is experiencing the same thing.
For some of you newer people, you might check out some of the links in my signature which are related to the HTC Desire HD.
well since ive first rooted its been an interesting journey,,, ARHD has been my main rom but ive been playing with jellytime the last few days,, its wonderfull,,,
What a kick in the teeth to HTC ,,, never mind ICS we already running JB , and it runs really well... i dont really see the need to upgrade my phone for another while yet,
i should have rooted ages ago
Trickdroid is a great Rom almost perfect
