Hi All
I am totally enjoying my HTC TOUCH HD, just wondered if there was a way that you could setup a text group ?
Many thanks
Steve
dunno about a saved group, but you can just type the beg letters of a name and it`ll let you select people - just keep adding names to the send list.?
I don't think you can set up distribution lists for mobile numbers (only email).
But, you could make some not files with all the names in and then just copy and paste into the SMS list.
ok , no problems, thanks ...
Steve
Im using... http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-group-sms.html
Very useful app, adds an extra menu so when you click on the recipient bar in sending sms you can select add group.
You make the contact groups in outlook on your pc then sync. Et voila, you can send/forward to groups quickly and easily.
Fantastic, thank you sooooo much !
Hi,
I'm looking for an app that lets me message directly from the contacts list, i.e have a mail or call icon next to the entry.
Any ideas?
From your phonebook/contacts list long press the desired contact and it will bring up a menu. It gives you the option to send a sms from there.

There's also an app called call dock bar which is a widget that can hold 4 contacts of ur choice with easy access to callin/textin/mailin. There waz another app that allowed more contacts bt i cant remember the name.. i dint like the UI on that one though.

Hi!
As I said in the title of the post, on every ICS ROM I use, the main problem is CONTACTS in messages, more precisely when I start to create new message and when I add recipient from Contacts I don't see all Contacts!!! For example, I have 10 people which name start with "Joh...", and when I type that in recipient in MESSAGES, it show me only 3-4 people which name start with "Joh..,"!!!
+1
I would like to know the answer to this myself.

Dunno. With aospx it seems to work fine. When I start to type a name a little scrollable list comes down with options and I just scroll down til I find a name. Then again I don't have tons of just "john"s in my contacts, I tend to add something else so that I know who is who as in "gay john", "johnny cash", etc.

The reasons that I would not want it treated as a group message are:
I do not want the recipients to see the numbers of other recipientsI do not want the recipients' replies to go to multiple peopleI do not want the recipients' replies to be grouped in a group message, but to instead be part of each individual threaddepending on the message, I may specifically not want a given recipient to know that other recipients received the same message.
Even when I check or uncheck group message it still does it. To me it's a invasion of privacy when you're sent a number from a person you don't know or when your number is sent to someone who you don't know.

Would love the same thing

If you open Settings in the Message App, you can deselect Group Message, you can still send messages to multiple recipients and it will not display the names or numbers that you sent it to.

What about sending pictures. It still including numbers even when it's not checked

I don't think the recipients will see who all you sent it to. Even though you may see it on your phone. I tried it and it works for me.
