My girlfriend has all her contacts saved to her sim card. Is there a way to transfer all them to her google account?

I searched the web and forums for this exact same issue for hours, couldn't find anything so I just copied them all manually.
Try this:
Save all your contacts to your SD card (if needed)
open your address book
Select menu >> more > Import/Export
Select export >> Export to SD card
When done repeat
Select menu >> more >> Import/ Export
Select Import >> Then select your gmail account (not phone)
See if that works.
Don't think so.
Edit: What he said above should work. I was looking at the option earlier but the SD card thing through me off.
Point to note here:
When I reflash a new rom I usually import from SD card to the phone. The reason is after you import the gmail account (stuff saved to the SD card) to phone you then have option to use ringtones per contact.
Long press contact >> edit >> you will then see a ring tone option.
I did the export and when I go to import it just give me the option to import from sd card or export from sd card

May want to try and export them all to SD card - then do it again and import from SD card to the gmail account.
You are basically exporting all contacts to a file. then importing those contacts back into the phone under the gmail account.
**Edit - cool you got it then
when u sync it automatically copies to your google account.

I ran into this problem with my wife's eris. There is an app that will export all of your contacts into vcard format, which you can then import into gmail. I'll take a peek and see if I can find the app again.
My wife has about a hundred numbers in her phone book but only like 4 are backed up/synced with google...i can't figure out/remember how to get them all to back up with google.
Go to your contacts and press menu then select import or export

and after you do what was posted above, import and it will ask where to, select google account.
So to sum up the two replies:
1.) Go to your Contacts\People widget and hit the menu button
2.) Hit the Import/Export option
3.) Select Export to SD card
4.) Select Phone (or whatever other location you need) to export from
5.) Select ok to allow the contacts to be exported to the name listed (note this name if you have or are doing more then one export)
6.) Hit the menu button again
7.) Hit the Import/Export option
8.) Select Import from SD card
9.) Select Google to import your contacts online to your Google account
10.) If you only have one export it will search your SD card and automatically import it
11.) If you have more then one it will give you the option to import 1 and let you select, Import more then one and let you choose which or to Import them all

Hello, I cannot import contacts from my SIM card. Not with Aurora 4.1a nor with Aurora 5.13. In menu there is no option to import/export contacts. Am I the only one with this problem? I'm using a SIM card from EPLUS.
Open phonebook, press menu key click export/import contacts in the opening settings menu there is the import from sim. Maybe you are opening telephone app?
I am on v5u13
