Android on SD is faster than WM custom rom - HD2 General

I am using the Elegancia rom with 2.12 radio with very little additional customization and I'm very disappointed that the Hyper Droid rom is actually faster than my windows mobile os. I do like windows mobile as I dont think android on the hd2 is ready yet.Is there really any definitely solid WM rom out there that you guys can recommend.
I am very comfortable with customizing the phone and so on but I am a very busy person and don't have the time to tinker around.I need something which works outside the box with minimal thinking, and don't ask me to get an iphone

what exactly is faster?
try the energy rom

Is the correct answer.
Gtx cht works well.

Since recommendation is 2 out of 2, I will consider
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

make that 3......

VBN has been the quickest ROM for me by far

Yeah I have been an Energyrom user since the TP2 and it has always been one of the fast and astheatically pleasing, they are popular for a reason. And please don't take this as a diss to all the great chefs here, this is just my opinion with experience from two different phones.

I would most definitely recommend any one of Dutty's Roms. Stability and speed being the key words.

Best ROM I have used for HD2 has been the one by indie. Super fast, stable and with no battery drain. I havent'd had good luck with energy roms starting with the older touch HD, and they used to eat up the battery very fast. Try out indie's, I am sure you'll like it. Dutty's is good as well.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=692763 I am using the one with Cookie's home tabs. One with Dinik's customizations is great too.

I tried a lot of different custom roms, but the Miri - DINIK rom works for me the best. It's so bloody fast and stable. Not one single freeze (even after a long period of standby) and excellent battery performance (2.12 + 2.14).
Energy ROMs do not work for me, the battery is dead within one working day and I don't find it stable. Too much tweaktools which cause slowdown. I really appreciate their support, but it seems that the Rom is not specifically made for the HD2.

well the elegancia rom uses miri's rom as the base as well. It is significantly faster than stock rom and I'm really impress with it. But the android builds just blast through anything than windows mobile can offer

HTC Touch HD Windows 6.1 best rom

Hi,
I was looking for a rom based on the latest version of official Windows 6.1 that is faster, very stable & has extra software as I am not impressed with Windows 6.5 roms at the moment.
I want a rom that works 100% like the official roms, just faster.
Can anyone help
Thanks
JAW$
You will have to try by yourself.... there's NO such thing as "best ROM".
Extra software? What extra software?

I keep trying all different 6.5 roms but keep going back to Dutty's 3.9 XT rom. Its very stable and probably the best 6.1 rom IMO.
If you want more of a customized version of 6.1, choose one of Dutty’s latest ROMs (note that Dutty stopped making custom ROMs for the HD long ago). Else if you want some raw performance boost, choose a Topix ROM especially the vanilla ones.
Fact is, choosing the best ROM is a matter of preferences. Taste of yours may vary from thousand others with the same device. Hence, before choosing a custom cooked ROM, forget the positive reviews people give on the ROM and instead, test them yourself personally. Probably have each of the ROM running in your device for atleast one day to analyze which one performs better and finally choose the best one for your taste.
Topix 3.5 is a very sweet ROM. One version even has the weather thing if that is to your tastes. Needs a little tweaking, like Tom's Extended Menu for the start button, but is super fast and stable.
+1 for Topix. Played around with Dutty's and when I went to Topix it felt blazing fast. Still using Topix.
hi
i'm italian,i found the best rom for me:

Whats the Most SPEEDY HD2 ROM of them ALL!!

Guys i am all confused with the cool ROM's found here. every ROM's got its advantages and disadvantages. Since when i was using the Touch HD before i tried all the cooked ROM's of wm6.5 with sense 2.5 found there and it got a lot faster in the later releases like the Great Miri's and Topix ROM's in the Touch HD Thread. Like that, I want to find out if there would be a noticeably faster ROM out there for my HD2 than the original shipped HD2 ROM (1.72.831.1 (82124) WWE) that i am using right now. which is the most speedy and stable ROM suggestion for HD2 on XDA. Could you kind people help me please???
in my opinion- artemis v10
Try Energy ROM. He always take a gook look on speed.
touchxtreme for me. energy roms kick ass too.
Kumars Classic 1.9 ROM is very very fast
Touch X-treme is a verry good and fast ROM..
~-==!=¶°§ BuGGy ROM™ °§¶=!==-~ v.20.10+ is the most SPEEDY!
Rule of thumb is, as long as the ROM is running on top of WM 6.5 build 21xxx, it will be faster than WM 6.5.5 build 23xxx. It is unfortunate that most of the custom ROMs here are running on top of WM6.5.x. Another thing is, speed is meaningless if the ROM is unstable.
CleanEx for me...
and funnily enough, this thread is basically a list of all threads in the ROM section....meaning you are in no better position from before you posted this thread!
all roms are pretty fast and good, just flash one and try it, if you dont like, go to the next...everyone has different tastes!
in before the lock.
Laurentius roms?
Xannytech's are nippy.
Kumar+Cleanex are also nippy.
I did not find the com5 from energy to be as impressive as his com2 build.
In general however, stick with Com2 for stability+speed. COM5 IS seductive tho. nice and rounded rom.
Energy ROM for me!
The most speedy rom/the best rom/the most lite rom/ and so on all depends on what you are looking for.
Best advice we can all give you is to look at the "spec sheets" for each rom, narrow them down and give a few a try.
Good luck with it.

Am I the only one that likes the stock?

My last WinMo phone was the XPERIA X1. With the stock ROM, it was an absolute train wreck. I loved to browse XDA and flash custom ROMs for the interesting hybrid SE Panels / TouchFlo3D ROMs. They were so fast, too, compared to the original SE 6.1. The original was just slow and laggy and frequently buggy as hell.
That was just a year ago.
With the HD2 I find myself not nearly as compelled to flash the ROM. I purchased my HD2 T9193 used (got it in mint condition for a screaming good deal) and the past owner had a custom ROM on there. I actually flashed to an official ROM -- the 1.66 WWE. I also flashed the radio, and I was damn impressed after applying g.lewarne's brilliant registry tricks. The device was snappy, fast, lag-free, and just plain ultra-responsive. I actually liked everything about it, from HTC Messaging and the HTC keyboard to the stock Opera browser to the stock task manager and whatnot. I just felt really at home, and I was really pleased with Sense both visually and in respect to its performance.
Then I see people deriding the stock ROMs thread after thread, blaming it for people's random problems with the HD2. They claim that custom ROMs can fix the problems, but I'm running a stock ROM pretty much trouble-free. The problems I read about that are frequently attributed to stock ROMs are problems I myself am far-removed from, including but not limited to crashing, lag, bugs, and general unsatisfactory performance.
So is it really the stock ROMs that cause so many problems? I'm fairly convinced they represent an excellent way to get a known experience that you can customize fairly easily to exactly the configuration that works for you. I'm very happy with my HD2 and once I get the bloody data connection issue fixed for good I can't imagine the stock ROM will ever give me a misstep. It's just stable and fast as hell for me.
Does the stock ROM just "work" for anyone else?
(I apologize if this is considered a ROM discussion thread [not my intention, but I understand if it is considered so or devolves into one])
I'd prefer a cooked stock-like ROM than any heavily-themed one...if that's what you mean.
I have a stock T-mo Rom, and it's work well for me...Coupla of reg tweaks, and apps. Still has some bugs though..
I too went from the X1 to the Leo (as I affectionally call it over the HD2). I am using the stock 1.72 WWE/HK ROM and am quite happy with it. The thing is there are several things about cooked ROMs that you simply cannot get from a stock ROM (not even by adding .cabs), but the cooked ROMs are always heavily themed.
If I remember correctly, there was only like a handful of X1-based cooked ROMs that matched the look of the stock but had the usability of a cooked ROM, that was my preferred choice.
As for the Leo, there isn't that option just yet.. and regardless, some people (like me) usually stay on the stock ROM to let the cooked ROMs mature, then maybe I'll test one or two out..
p.s. Anyone feel sometimes some cooks go insane (in a humorous way) with heavily skinning the interface? Just makes me go oh my god! (completely personal opinion with NO mentioning of names ).

Isn't an option yet? Have you look at the ChuckyROM kitchen? Not all Cooked ROMs are skinned to death (though I agree, some people do have bad taste in themes ) and some are done exactly like stock. If that's not enough, you can always cook your own stock ROM with the added stability and performance tweaks.
I am actually quite happy with the stock T-Mo US ROM. I have not done much tweaking of any kind really. Someday I am sure I will but for now I am quite happy with the phone as it is.
I love stock as well. Tried a couple of coocked (artemis and another one I can't remember) but I am not happy with them at all.
Stock is good. 1.66WWE.
I understand the benefits of cooked ROMs with regard to features and incremental bug fixes, but I don't understand why these benefits come at the expense of the stock ROM's reputation -- that is what I am getting at. I find nothing egregiously wrong with the stock ROM for me now that I've tweaked it sufficiently.
The BEST part about the HD2 is that I always have the option. And the options are all attractive.. I guess there's just too many of them for me to pick just one.
i like my stock ROM don't see any point yet to go for a custom one.i updated to the official one from htc website and hot nolag or problems
There's no stock ROM with WM6.5.x available, so using a stock ROM is not an option.
I use stock 1.66 ... no problems for me! (well no major ones anyway... got a minor issue with text size when writing an sms but i think every rom has this)
I have the stock 1.72 and I have to say im very happy with it. I would consider a cooked Rom but it will be for curiosity not because of any probs with the stock one.
RReckless
It depends on people's taste
I love cook roms because I like 6.5.x finger-friendly style, and in cook rom I dont have to install some apps 1-by-1, and dont have to apply tweaks 1-by-1. Another good things is cook rom decorate the start menu quite well.

Can you provide a link to g.lewarne's registry mods? I'm using BsB Tweaks which is pretty good but I'm always looking for more info...
thanks.

They're pinned in this forum.
I use the 448MB-compatible tweaks from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629388
And the Opera and Cache tweaks from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638
All I need are battery-related registry tweaks for improved battery handling (right now I'm on full HSDPA all the time with no 3G handoff = battery drain) and I'll be golden.

I stayed on the stock ROM for a day. TBH, I bought the HD2 knowing I was going to flash to a Cooked ROM, which I did as soon as I could.
btw, when you're ready for a cooked ROM, you should consider g.lewarne's Series of ROM's which include even more of these tweaks (including the ones for battery life)

I like this statement. Very true.
I use a custom ROM because the OS has a footprint of under 50Mb with a few tweaks, it's fast, and good looking. WM 6.5 stock ROMs are ugly, and I am spoilt with the finger friendliness of 6.5.x.

Now that I've got my data connection issue resolved I'm not sure I'll ever want to reflash to anything. Seriously, every time I hard reset the data connection has issues staying alive for more than 5 minutes. It just perishes dramatically and doesn't return unless I soft reset the device (even the CommMgr wouldn't do it).
I'll figure out the battery tweaks on my own; shouldn't be too hard with an unlocked registry. When I'm ready to flash to a cooked ROM it'll likely be an ultra-lite ROM that's almost totally naked (little to no cooked-in apps, perhaps even Sense natively absent) so I could get it to exactly the way I want from there.

You just described g.lewarne's ROM Series mate
I've flased the O2 1.72 stock rom and I have no problems to report. It even solved the SMS lag. Along with Cookie, BSB, HD2 Tweak and all the fab clocks from everybody, the stock rom suits me fine.

What is your favorite Rom??

In your opinion, what is your favorite Rom for the HD2? Why is it your favorite and is it the best Rom out there??
energy cht rom. does what i need it too and imo it is.
elegancia CHT 9.5!
OzRom
Fast, elegant design, it works, seems to manage battery better than others, nice integration with tweaks etc.

#1 ROM out there!!!
WaterBear v2 lite WWE
No manilla/sense, I prefer my own home screen.
It is compatable with the radio which provides me with the best battery life (2.10.50.26, on the O2 network in England).
It doesn't freeze daily like the stock roms.
I get and send all my SMSs ( I think ) (These last 2 reasons being the only reason I bothered to flash a ROM, and are fixed issues in all cooked ROMs. I like minimal OS to build my PPC up from, I don't want everything most chefs cook in.)
I've tried a few others, and they look very nice, if you like that sort of thing, but they're not as functional for me as my setup, personally I use my phone, not drool over the graphics. and the battery life was poor compared to this.
mine that im cooking lol
Energy Rom definitely, Laurentius26 has good ROM's as well.

Mine is MaxSense Energy. Quickest ROM I've used, most frequently updated, I haven't had to soft reset my device because of it once. Very reliable, imo
My personal favorite is the "Energy" rom... Same reasons stated above... Updated every few days it seems, very fast, stable, and looks "pretty"... Plus I get a great battery life...
Forget the ROM upgrading madness.
Check my sig.
Mine so far is Deepshining's Roms. They run smooth and battery is good. I changed to Energy cht (Dinik) rom for a few weeks loved some of the apps cooked in and really cool looking but i had to soft reset more than normal and my battery life did not last as long as i would like. i never got sod's but the reseting was killing me so i went back to Deepshining a few days ago and back to happiness!! Im not knocking energy roms but it just didnt work for me.
So i would say Deepshining is my fav at the moment, i have been looking at seeM_ZA rom, simplicity. Cause i want something with the basics and cht cooked in but that rom has no Facebook so im just a lurker for now.

With 1.3a, GPS works like charm. And with little bit of registry editing you get your 6.1 start menu with manila programs tab enabled. I just love the rom. Allthough Jackos has build it for maximum ram efficiency, the rom is the fastest i've used. I suggest you to try it. It sets the bar high for other roms.
Big thanks to the developer!
Deepshining for me. Its the first rom I tried and I havent tried another. Battery life is good, its stable and its updated in good time. No soft resetting issues or sods
I've tested all tp2 roms and have to say that Jackos showLITE is the best...
E N E R G Y R O M is the BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stock WM 6.5
I am very,very satisfied with original,stock WM 6.5 ROM.
It runs flawlessly. No objections.
NRGZ28's most recent Cookie Energy ROM
ive been using the JackFull v1.4 rom since release Aug. 01, 2010. absolutly no major issues you find in the other mainstream roms. (sod's, memory leaks, power drainage) the rom is very smooth. the chef, jackos, is dedicated to his thread and helps resolve any issues promptly. on a fresh install, i get 310mb of storage and 95-100mb of ram. its a great "lite" rom for you to build on. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=632617
Mine is the simplicity ROM. Its been the fastest for me and has been updated during the time I've had it.
