Hey guys noticed Jcases' gingerjane was no longer posted in the forum's considering that since I do have previous permission to use his rom as a base I thought I would post my daily driver. This is plainjane with sense 3.0 weather mms and lockscreen i didnt need all the fancy shmancy stuff i just really like the lockscreen shortcuts and weather.
if you want fancy you can follow my kingdom port thread
its just the VZW leak with :
sense 3 lockscreen
mms
and weather
Thanks to:
Jcase
Seo
Erishasnobattery
Cmo022
The only bug it has right now wich i thnk will be fixed when i update lockscreen parts with Seo's new stuff.. the phone does crash when answering a phone call from the lockscreen (not immediatly but after the phone is disco'd)
Download SMS time fix from market if you have issues with timestamps on the rom
Instructions to install
Ensure you have latest GB radio (refer to Jcase thread for warning please)
place rom on root of SD card
wipe dalvik cache

Uhh...radios dont come in roms...that would be a separate download. Plenty of places to read up on that by hitting your Back button on your browser.

Stock is safe.
Question: what kernel is this rom carrying? I'm back and forth from Froyo to GB because of two issues: BT calls breaking occasionally when I answer, and camera stability. Wondering if you're having issues with either.
And when I say camera stability, I mean being able to shoot 20 pictures and not have it freeze or have to pull the battery. Lol.

oh i see i thought this was something different. it uses the radio that people have been warned not to use. thanks

Just as a follow up...sorry for being abrupt there. It just frustrates the crap outta me seeing people in here asking questions that should be known before they ever rooted their phones. There's times when I think this rooting process has become waaaay too easy for people.
Please refer to OP for statement on radios
for kernel this is carrying imeyosons right now but will carry twisteds modded kernel buoy on device I've had best camera results off that one and I take a lot of pictures

Zarboz, people should be thanking you for another ROM to check out.
This uses the same radio ANY other GB ROMs use. There is no reason to **** on the thread and not any of the other GB ROMs.
Plus... There is NO evidence GB or the radio caused a brick.
Lol.

All right smart asses. Jcase pulled his ROM since he knew it was using an alpha radio that bricked phones. Using any gingerbread ROM with a connection to data (I.e. Using the alpha radio) gives you a chance to brick your phone. No one knows why this radio causes issues but it does.
Happy now?
I am not trying to defer people away from this ROM I am as happy as anyone else that we have another toy to play with but people need to now there is a serious risk that cannot be avoided by making sure you flash correctly or don't mess with the wrong thing. It just happens. Again Zarboz thank you for the ROM I just want people to have a heads up about the issues.
And just so everyone knows I am currently using this ROM and don't plan on jumping ship anytime soon.

1. Please properly search and read the forums as it does get tedious to read of documented issues. For example, click here
2. Schlund has already said he is working on fixing all the sound and acoustic bugs.
His last words on this were: "simply be patient"...

No, that is impossible cause when i use Windows it works fine. so its a android problem i guess.
As of today, October 18th, I no longer have this tablet, so support for this ROM is now discontinued. Thanks for all your support!

Customized it as a fall-back ROM in case something fails in an experimental build. I hope the community likes it.

Thanks for the feedback guys! :good: Here's a little gem I also found useful from user apooonet: MiFileExplorer. I like how it categorizes your files so if you downloaded something you don't have to navigate through folders.
Wanna try your rom, but just a little question before :
Running CM9 at the moment, and there's a bug. When Tab is plugged to charge, it power off every time. (kernel bug ?)
Is there the same problem with this release ?
Thx

Remember when I pulled the 7310 and it showed you that only one download for the 7300 had happened? Not that we have something switched up, but when you asked me if I was sure I had downloaded the right build I had a little flashback of a 7300-7310 mix up earlier in the month. Are we positive we don't have a link situation?

Hi nirogu325,
NO, I've already wipe data/factory reset using "Clockwork_Recovery_6.0.0.8_GT-P7300". also I've wipe the system.
Did I press or download something wrong~?
Thanks!

No worries, I will double check. I think I have a clue where the problem might lie. Any other 7300 user that has the problem?

Just wanted to say I really like this slim rom - thank you very much! It's also much snappier than anything I've ever tested, ranging from stock to aosp and aokp roms, cm9 included. I'm not quite satisfied with the "density" (or how to you call that?) of the font, it's a bit too less crisp and clear for my taste. I know I could flash ics, but the font itself is more beautiful than the ics one.
What I miss:
- not being able to customize the unlock-icon
- choosing an app to unlock to results in having a very fugly icon (pixelated) displayed in lockscreen
- the sound is so much better than anything I've ever heard coming out of my tab (most of the roms were WAY too quiet/weak),
but it's still far from "punchy" and I dont mean "oooomph bass bass bass" at all
I know it's not exactly desired to give feedback but I supposed I'd add my two cents anyway
Maybe I'll add a few more things as I'm spending time with my beloved 8.9

Ah yes, it's a tough decision (JB font looks more elegant, although thinner). You can always flash the ICS font included at the OP, but I get your point. About what you miss, that's...well...out of my control, but you can choose your desired icon when customizing it (a chore looking for icons, I know, but we do have that alternative). About the sound, I also use the app Equalizer to further customize the sound. Also yes, feedback is indeed truly appreciated ! I'm glad to be of service, and even more glad this ROM is useful to someone! :good:

Admittedly, this feels like a stupid question. With MM, TB changed the method with which we restored the Android ID. It was allegedly fixed months ago whereby you can restore the system settings instead of using the menu item.
It's never worked for me. What am I missing? Many thanks in advance.
