demo software? - Droid X General

Hey guys,
My boss just got a DroidX, and it is slightly different than my SGS. I want to know if there is a software version of the phone, similar to how the windows mobile SDK allowed you to run an instance of the OS on your computer screen.
I want to be able to control my own version of the phone, or see each screen at least, so i can tell him what to do and he doesn't go back to the idiotPhone.
can i do this with a file from the android sdk?

Install windows for smart phone on pda phone?

Can you isntall the version of windows on smart phones (such as what comes on the DASh and blackjack) onto a pda phone with touchscreen (like mda, etc)? REason why I ask is because I want to get an Imate Jaq3 (basically an samsung blackjack but with touch screen) but I don't like the touch screen, and i want the smart phone version of windows so i can navigate the menus with just the buttons it has. Any way to do this?
Unlikely to work - you're talking about different OSs on very different hardware platforms. Normally you can't move a compiled OS even between similar hardware. It'd be very difficult I think to move smartphone OS to different hardware designed for WinMob pro.

Can a Palm OS platform run simultaniously on a WM6 phone?

Hi guys, I have an HTC touch (sprint) and got a job with a air balancing company and they have software that links their ppc's to their server for live data entry. however the application is only available for the palm os. Does anyone know if installing multiple OS's on a phone is even possible, like installing linux on an ipod? or if not, any way to convert a palm os application to WM6 combatible application. If needed, i have the install files for my application, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If nothing exists i would even consider payment for the application to be convtered if anyone is intrested.
Thank you
Matt
you would probably have to build the application up again from the ground up if its a native palm application, although, if its written in a common language, i dont see why it couldnt be ported over
somebody more knowledgable should be able to help you better
and welcome to xda-devs
you can use styletap to run palmOS apps on windows mobile, if this is what you want to do.
Well, im 50% there, styletap works great, im able to load the software and run it, no glitches yet, however styletap doesnt seem to be allowing the application to sync with my server. any1 have any ideas? i even tried first establishing a data conn in WM6 using IE and hopped back to style tap to sync again. no luck

Android on HTC Wizard ?

I sow here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=382265 that the user DZO ported Android as an image on a virtual machine for HTC Touch.
They have a site here http://www.myhtcphone.com/ and I downloaded the needed files to try to see if it is working on my old Wizard. It is very simple to install it (they created even a .cab file)
But is seems that is not working. It is saying booting linux, it is displaying the console with 4 or 5 lines and after that it remains with a white screen.
Doses any one tried also to run this Android image on an HTC Wizard ?
Yes, currently there is no working version of Android on the Wizard, simply because we are missing some propriatery JAVA drivers and framework, that at least I have not been able to secure for our use. Perhaps in time a version will become available. I am still working on a version, but I dont have much hope for it.
No big deal, however I do not like Android... For now, Android is out of WM league, i know it's based on linux, but just a few apps are availible and so... A two years ago I instaled linux on my SX1 - what a wasting of time - Qtopia sucks also...
in open-nandra com sound driver for linux HTC Wizard - how this add to android?
It is something new, I have an old MDA Vario, and I want him working for Android
If you want the best system for your MDA Vario, use Windows Mobile. I suggest Ham3r's H3r5, but CRACING's CR96 is good for WM6.5, and many ROMs to choose from, even though very few are recent.
If, instead, you want Android, I suggest a different phone. I got an old AT&T Tilt, which is HTC Kaiser, and it runs Android well. In my opinion Wizard was a better phone for its time, but Android on Wizard is very immature, and advancing very slowly.
How about Windows Phone 7? See: http://www.xda-developers.com/featu...gn=Feed:+xda-developers/ShsH+(xda-developers)

Windows Apps and the Droid

Can you use your existing Windows Apps on the Droid or do I have to find Droid apps like the Window Apps that I already have?
I currently have a Windows Mobile phone, but my contract is up in December and my wife and I like what we see with the Droid, but it will be hard to put down my Tilt... I love the ability to put a Custom Rom on my Tilt. I have heard that this is not possible with a Droid...is this true?
Thanks,
Todd
Nope sorry. Since Android OS is a completely different mobile operating system you cannot use your Windows Mobile apps on android. A lot of the major application manufacturers have gone cross platform so you can likely find a lot of the same, if not similar apps.

Samsung Focus comes with WP7 OS 7629 pre-mango, need help!

Hello guys, I recently bought a Samsung Focus on Amazon, works very well, until I notice that I can't update it because it uses a WP7 Version that someone here in XDA get out from the Windows Phone SDK last year. Is the Pre-Mango build for the simulator. Remember? Well this phone had things from Windows Phone 7 (like the boot screen, icons and stuff) and other from Mango (copy-paste, multitasking, Twitter and LinkedIn integration) So, my problem is that I want to change it to the normal carrier OS and then unlocked again if necessary. I am new here as you can see and I do this kind of stuff on Android but this is my first Windows Phone, so I need help please.
The Phone is the Samsung Focus Rev. 1.3 from AT&T
Try the post in my sig and try this from there.
Should work, but takes time.
There are also a few unlocked ROMs that you can flash. Everything done in one step.
