Hi
after HTC announce today the Desire Hd
so I think a lot of X10 users start think to go to Desire HD and leave X10 (my baby) after this show from SE to let us wait 6 months to get old version for the OS. me every day in my twitter and XDA waiting for any good news for the update
so I am start think to change my X10 and go to HTC Desire HD
so how many X10 users start think to change The X10
No, X10 Forever
1- Because in canada, no phones beat 4inch display
2- Because update is coming in 1 or 2 weeks
3- Becuase x10 is the perfect size, Desire HD is just tooo big in my opinion
I just bought mine, it's pretty good phone but it got to many problems.
I don't care that much about what version of android it runs. Actually all i care about is arabic support in upcoming android 2.1 update, if they add arabic support i can go on with 2.1.
I guess if they didn't this phone will be my last SE phone and i'll go with HTC.
so i guess everyone will wait the update and then make a decision.
P.S. I also guess they will announce if X10 will ever get Froyo after this update.
Ive been thinking of changing for a few weeks, Sony have really dropped the ball with this phone in my honest opinion.
Im hoping they can recover for their sakes but ill never get another SE and ill advise my friends the same.
My friend just got his upgrade and was going to get the X10 told him not to so he got the Samsung Galaxy S and im so jealous....
Samsung Galaxy S is no better either, i would recommend HTC all the way.
The Desire Z is just perfect( Small size, keyboard )
Me i am looking for Arabic support
But unfortunately no arabic font officially from SE now or in the new update
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I sold my X10 a few weeks ago and I'm glad I made the decision to leave SE. I have the Nokia N8 on pre order and I May just get my N8 before X10 gets 2.1.
Lol...good luck with a Nokia.
The desire HD is gorgeous, has 768mb ram too + 1.5gb internal storage, plus MT
My x10 is already gone, got a wildfire to tide me over till i decide betweeen a samsung p1000 tablet or a desire HD.

I saw a blog posting that more languages will be added to X10 in November, let's just hope arabic will be among these languages cuz if they didn't and they didn't upgrade the phone beyond 2.1, OMG this will be horrible
no, not planing to throw another 500 euros on new phone... like Steve Jobs allegedly said " it's just a phone "
yeah im gonna chage to desire HD
For what carrier is this phone coming to in the US?
No. Outside the boundaries of Japan, no other smartphone looks as good as the Xperia.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
i keep my x10 and i would buya HTC desire HD and comparing the difference between the phones and select w/c is the best....
Hmmmm I really like the looks of this desire hd....and I really love my x10....if it comes to canada ill be watching it closely that's for sure.

The new Desire looks really interesting especially considering that it uses a proper screen instead of the crappy AMOLED of it's predecessor. But since my X10 is fairly new I'm still hoping the bootloader will be cracked soon. The Desire has more RAM while the X10 has a "better" 16:9 screen format.
It has a newer OS which is interesting but other than that I'd say the X10 is pretty equal. If I was in the market for a new phone today I'd definitely consider it.
I was reading about it in Engadget and they said" its an EVO for the rest of the world"
I did own HTC HD2 which was windows mobile phone but now they have ported Android 2.2 on it. Software was a problem but not that much. Phone has no design what so ever, and EVO even worse. They are "just another phone" to me and I will die with my Xperia before moving to another HTC unless they really work on their design.
SE has good hardware design and crappy Software design.
HTC is good in software and crappy in look of the hardware.
But after owning three SE Xperia since X1 -> X2 -> X10 now and all the problems I have been facing I still would rather stay with them unless I find a better looking phone.
Our developers are promising here and I enjoy watching them work ON something I love which is my phone.
You will never go all the way with one phone to all the available OS versions, and you will end up changing your phone sooner or later. This is what their plan designed for so enjoy your phone while you can.
I will go for desire because i felt like cheated by sony, no multi-touch,low call volume problem long time wait for 2.1 ( still only getting 2.1 after six months ) so desire is the best choice ( VALUE FOR MONEY ). GO FOR DESIRE TRUST ME
me too!
i can't wait any longer!
other phones has 2.2
Hi I really want froyo but like my x10 but I don't know if I can wait much longer for the hack so if some of you good people here con give me so pro and con I mite be able to make my mind up thanks for your help

With NAND seemingly right around the corner, and the HD2 running froyo so well on the SD card. Why not? If you decide to make the switch I have them for sale right now. Just $250.00 barely used.

Well, the pros of owning an HD2 is Froyo ROMs are readily available. Bigger screen. More RAM. And soon NAND flash make Android even more seemless.
On the other hand, Xperia X10 is a nice looking phone SE sure know how to make them.
Personally, I would ditch the X10. Its a nice phone and everything, but this is an exciting development. I rarely have any hiccups in android anymore and the battery life has stabilized after having run it as the primary o/s for so long. With every update it gets better, and looking forward to the future, there are more updates and o/s's to think about! But if gadget tinkering isn't your thing, I highly suggest you stick with a phone you like stock!
Please Understand that if you do get a hd2 you get it knowing that android is and will be beta for a very long time. also not all users experience the same results.
That being said I love my hd2 and probably wouldnt trade it for the world. I dont use wifi tether at the moment so if it doesnt work I dont care. I dont really use bt headsets so i havent tried to get it working but that is hit or miss.
Sense you are already use to android It wont be so bad. Alot of people are use to windows and are trying to make it function the same way.
I did the same perfect deal, good to have multtouch again, and the hd2 on android is faster then x10 !. It;s not perfect but hey you always have winmo
I sold my Samsung Galaxy S for an HD2
Would never look back, runs smoother amazingly but this is true, found the Galaxy S had lots of lags and halts, but I believe froyo is coming soon for it.
The screen is larger and more controller over the brightness settings.
The HD2 is made so well and has a superb camera and flash.
You get the best XDA development there is, there is some much to do, from hundreds of WM ROMS, to a massive Android development, not sure any other device offers this much.
I would go for it, but it takes a while to get into the hd2, read lots on here, be patient and enjoy.
Don't do it. Get a "real" Android phone instead, like the upcoming Desire HD.
Hi all thanks for ur help I got the hd2 ive got froyo running and I'm loving it and the phone the screen is more responsive and know I can see what all the fuss about mt is too can't wait for nand now

hd2 is not multitouch at all!
I have an HTC desire but I saw the HD2 screen is huge, Compared to desire but than desire has the Amoled and hd2 only simple tft.
I was leened over to exchange it with the Desire , but after seeing these facts I don't know . .
What about NexusOne, which is better ? Nexus or Desire ?
Sent from my HTC LeeDroid 2.2 using my swyping thumb!
the nexus ist the desire with two little differences. desire has a optical trackpad, nexus a mechanical and the other thing is that the desire comes with the sense ui where the nexus comes with plain 2.1.
apart of that the desire (amoled) has the same hardware as the nexus. but you have to be careful to get a amoled and not one of the newer series with s-lcd. i don't want to say that s-lcd is not as good as the amoled, i really like both.

yes.
sony vs hd2? no question.
even when hd2 runs it only from sd card
Definately, i swapped my HD2 for the x10 and came straight back to the HD2 as soon as android was available never regretted it
Ricey
Don't knock the simple tft screen, easy to read in direct sunlight, the HD2 screen is perfectly sensitive also, may not have the multi touch capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S, but neither do the Nexus or Desire.
I'd say the HD2 has best of all worlds, still cant beat that huge HD2 screen
You should definitely get HTC Desire HD (after 8th of october)
You can define it as an HD2 with real android.
With hibernate mode, desire hd boots in a few secons after power off.
HD2 nand Android should be near perfect within 1-3 months. You will constantly need to work on it till everybody gets perfect android. It should be cheaper but you must be patient, if you want android hd2 like desire hd.
Froyo is huge difference in android terms and desire hd is the only phone with hd2 screen/hardware and has native froyo.
Hmm ok . So u guys are saying I should switch to HD2 from my desire ? Im a full.android boy, so android would run pretty much like on desire or no some lag or worse battery?
How about the 720p video recording ?
And also one more thing, The colours ? Are they as vibrant in nature on the HD2 as they r on the Desires led?

Ahhh I don't have my HD2 yet but im pretty sure that based on everything ive read the HD2 has multitouch. At the very least it has dual touch.
As far as swapping the X10 for HD2, im doing it. Im keeping my X10 though. The dual boot thing has really got me interested in the HD2. The only issue that im worried about with the HD2 is the gsensor issues while running android.
Hi everybody,
I would like to buy a nw phone because the tattoo is good but... won't be upgraded correctly to android 2.1 or 2.2. Sometimes it's slow, bugging (e.g.: rebooting while installing the update of google maps, ...)
I was thinking about buying either the HTC Desire or the HTC Wildfire. However, I don't know which one to take
Could you give some advice?
Thanks ;-)
have you got the money? if you do, get the htc desire - higher res screen, bigger screen, can play games better, but the wildfire has better battery life.
Hey,
Yes, I've got the money (if my renovation budget is correct ).
Indeed, Desire is better than Wildfire. But I wanted to ask the question because I was disappointed with the Tattoo (no focus for the cam, for example)
I'm very happy with the Desire that I have - someone at work though is getting the Desire HD today - I can't wait to see all the HTCSense.com stuff on it... but still think i'd rather just stick with my Desire Original
HTC Desire HD seems really nice but really too expensif.
lol Wildfire vs Desire? Even the Wildfire designer will tell you to buy a Desire...
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3337&idPhone2=3077
You can't compare them...
P.s. i have the Wild but if i will ever have that kind of money, i'll buy the Desire.
well, I just bought the Desire ;-)
It was in promotion "-15%" if I gave another cellphone.
The HTC Desire was originally at 429€ and I gave a Nokia 6110 and got 64€ back I'm so happy
The Desire is REALLY nice !
Thanks for your advises ;-)
its always the money problem which brings everyone to the wildfire
Yes, I agree with you.
I saw the Desire Hd and it seems to be better than the normal one. but the price is scary... 599€... for a phone
Desire, hands down.
Choose wildfire if you don`t have the cash, think that the Desire is too big, or if you don`t want to loose a lot of money in case of theft/loosing the phone.
I only wanted a entry level android phone and HTC Wildfire for a 17yr old teenager is good investment
definately desire. I m soon ex-wildfire user
someone just offered me a vibrant+$50 for my g2.
OR
HD2+50
yes? no?
No.... $150 and g2 maybe.....
Sent from my HTC Vision
Lol hell no are you serious? Like the guy above said at LEAST 150. I would even bump it to 200.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Both of those are downgrades, IMO. Why would you want to take a step backwards device-wise, even for a little extra money? Remorse is sure to ensue.
Vibrant is cheap plastic, and lots of issues with that phone (CPU lag, major GPS problems) and there is less developer support on XDA for Samsung phones. HD2 is old hardware, that phone was released Nov. 2009.
Check out this post by another guy that traded his G2 for the Vibrant, and totally regrets it. Don't be him.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910953
remember, the G2 is your "baby".......
I'll give you a c-note, one of those phones and a Klondike bar. Deal?

Simple: NO
Replaced 3 phones in 3 months, just cuz I was never happy with my all 3 android devices, finally got DZ launched here in canada and I was craviing for it, purchased my DZ over a month ago, loving it so much that I can't even think of letting this phone go in my wildest dream...
Straight no to any other trades, even if u get a lot in return... this is the phone u will regret letting go...

Than try Desire HD, HD7, Evo Shift, Thunderbolt or something similar, but not outdated phones like HD2 ;-) And Samsung is not a choice at all IMO. Low quality, cheap plastic, disposable toys. They could'nt even make their own design and copy-cat'ed an iPhone.

If you like trying new phones, the HD2 doesn't qualify. Its a very old phone. 14 month old hardware may as well be 10 years in the smartphone business.
And a Android port is never going to run as well as a phone that is designed to run Android natively. So don't think that you will really have an Android phone on your hands if you buy an HD2 and flash an Android port. Old hardware that runs a very outdated OS, that also has the ability to run an Android port = not worth it.
I'm actually getting an HD2 to run Android and ditching my G2. It has the same hardware as my N1, which is running wonderfully and is a year old now, so I am not worried. I want the big screen, dual LED flash, and the Desire HD ROM. I've been waiting for T-Mo to announce a 4.3" HTC phone but who knows if it'll even happen at MWC so I am using the HD2 to hold me over until one ever comes to T-Mo.
just thought i'd let you guys know, i got the hd2 and am now running CM7 on NAND. its amazing. i love it
I had the hd2 before i got my z and it is a good phone with good support on xda. I just couldnt get used to its size. The z just "feels" better.

I would go for Desire HD. Materials and general quality. (Galaxy is plastics)
But it depends in your needs and likes, and price. Sure other people will write big explanations.
Nice upgrade anyway!

htc desire hd has a flasher bigger memory has 2fps better
but from i can see the galaxy s is porting stuf from htc
but i really wana keep the phone stock but them again i like to play so hmmmmmmmmm
The Galaxy S was the first smartphone I bought and it's a great phone. Swype is one of THE best apps I've ever used and I dearly wish it was available on the Wildfire as typing this reply with a bog-standard keyboard is a major PITA.
I principally bought the Galaxy S because it was the biggest screen on the market at the time and watching videos on a small screen blows. Of course, there are now phones with bigger screens, so I've upgraded to the Nexus S. Another key factor in my upgrade decision was that Samsung took a long time to upgrade the Galaxy S from Eclair to Froyo and I didn't want to wait for them to upgrade it to Gingerbread so I bought the Nexus S. AFAIK, to date Samsung have no plans to upgrade the Galaxy S to Gingerbread.
So I suggest you factor this in to your purchase decision and try and really focus on what you're looking for in a smartphone.
I've also just discovered the world of custom ROMs so now I find I'm going to sell my Galaxy S (and possibly my Nexus S - while the secondhand prices are still high) as I'm enjoying my (small and thin) Wildfire + custom ROMs so much that I hardly ever use the other two phones.
So my advice to you is to seriously think about what it really is you like about the hardware. As the software you can change.

Yes, it surprises me as well that I find the Wildfire to be more to my liking. I guess I just like its size compared to the others. Each to his own, but it has been an expensive exercise for me to find out what I really like.

i got a samsung galaxy s for my gf. its a really nice phone, but she did experience an issue with the battery. it would hardly last 14 hrs. (with GPS, background data disabled, only 2G mode and abt an hour wi-fi use)
