[Q] Phone boots into wm on second boot - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

When I try to boot an Andrioid build for a second time it always boots into wm after trying to boot Android, why?
The delete Android folder tip works when this is possible, but this isn't possible on all builds. What to do?
Same problem on all sd cards. Using Stock rom 1.66.403.1 DAN and radio 2.12.50.02_2
Help needed

So you run Haret and it comes back to Windows? Unless you have a ROM that will auto boot into Android, you will always boot into Windows...

Booting the Android on HD2

Hello, I started all this flashing and other stuff yesterday and firstly flashed the HSPL, then radio and then started to try booting the android. I restarted my phone like 9 times? because every time it freezed on the welcome , first time setup in android and sometimes rebooted itself, when booting the droid :S
I was running a radio 2.12.50 that time and OFFICIAL ROM.. Then i read that you have to have some custom rom pref, to run android and i flashed myself newest energy rom and radio 2.12.50 and also made a hard reset and formatted my 4GB micro SD card. And after trying to boot the android now, im having the same issue.... I mean it makes 10 minute first time boot with that greet HTC icon on black wallpaper, then Android icon starts to round and then i have 2 thingss.
1) It opens me the android lock screen, i tap down and scrolol down and i have on white wallpaper the HTC icon for 30min and more(didnt test longer, resetted) , or it just soft resets during that icon rounding.....
I tryed to flash on 2.07.50, 2.10.50, 2.15.50 Radios, and any of them didn't help.
Any suggestions?
i also had a hard time start using android
i always have to reboot my phone 5-10 times until it boots
i dont know if it is normal but it is working
just try a full format for your sd card and search the tread of your rom for people that are telling witch radio they use etc
i think that is the best advice i can give you
not normal my phone boots the first time and everytime... I didn't do the install though so don't ask what I did I just know that isn't right
U can use the 1 gb img file given by the dev for faster boot up time. Or if it loops, change ur startup text. Search the forum on what needs to be changed.
I got the European HD2, with 512 Ram i guess? And i tryed that also, took the 512 image file from the folder and copyed to the Android folder of the SD card, same thing , just restarts when booting

Android boots only once then restarts with windows after switching off

I have an HTC HD2 LEO with radio 2.8..... I have installed Android mdjj 4.4 but it runs only for the first time..... After switching off the phone, the phone again comes back to Windows... Pls help... what i m doing wrong???
dude thats what its supposed to do.
You are not replacing windows you are booting a android build located on your SD card. When you use the haret.exe it boots windows from ram and loads the phone into android kernel. To get into Anroid after reboot you need to do same thing again.
There is a solution though, You can install a bootloader that will automatically run haret for you after windows boot and set a delay like 3 seconds, to speed up the whole process you can flash a stripped down version of windows.
Your only other solution is to wait for the NAND project to be released so we can boot Android from nand at boot.
Try this boot loader. It will give you the option of wintel or andriod when switched on

I'm using version 4 which works for me.

That doesnt sound like your radio... It sounds like you have a bad ROM on your SD... Re-download the ROM, format the SD card on the computer (not on the phone) to fat32, reload the ROM and try it again...
If it doesnt work... I heard someone formatted the SD card through Windows Mobile and then loaded the ROM and it worked.
Lastly, if all of that doesnt work, then re-flash the WM ROM and the radio then try it again.
Good luck.

[Q] Hd2 Restarting near end of bootload, not sure what's going wrong?

I've recently tried to install Ubuntu 0.3 on my Hd2 during the boot the haret loader had an error message, I then decided to change back to android after not being able to run Ubuntu. Now when I boot android it goes to the android HTC screen and resets the phone back to windows boot. Can anyone help me with this I can't find anything else on the same subject??
Need a little more information.
Which type of Android? SD/NAND/etc
If it's SD, make sure you have re-flashed a WinMo ROM.
If it's NAND, make sure you have created the correct partitions on your SD card and that MAGLDR is installed correctly.
In other words, start from scratch and read this thread... very carefully.
I am using SD boot, and I'll try starting again from scratch. Thanks

did you use magldr or cLK?
I would go back to the tri-color screen flash task29, then reflash magldr or cLK or whatever you're using.
i suspect he means a haret version of android.
I had exactly the same thing every time i tried haret android over winmo, time and time again, for months, until nand android came along. They wouldnt boot, and resetting hung at boot screen forcing a hard reset. On the very few occasions an android build booted, they would work until i soft reset, then it gave the same hang at boot screen forcing hard reset symptoms. Mostly tho they just didn't boot, and the same hung at boot screen forcing hard reset.
I'll never try sd android again! never did find out why.

Sounds like an old radio or the fact that you didn't use a card reader to transfer the files, maybe they were corrupting in the transfer, I had this come up a few times.
I am using a haret version and the phone is not stuck at the android boot screen but at the winmo boot screen and i didn't use any magldr or clk
i have hspl installed and i have stock winmo
Hello,
I had this issue first time I changed from WinMo to Android. Stuck on the HTC boot screen. It was because there was no OS installed on it.
And I solved it by updating the Radio before updating the ROM.
So I would recommend you to first update your Radio, then try again installing your Android ROM.

That's good advice, try the 2.15.50 radio, also make sure you are transferring via sd card reader to avoid data corruption. Also try a different ROM.
Stuck with NAND magdlr
Hello,
I tried to install several ROMs through ClockworkMod Recovery.
Everything went fine, with all of them, except when i rebooted before the first use. With all the roms my HD2 stayed on the bootscreen..
