Picassaweb Sync on Android HD2 - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi guys,
I am wondering if there is something I can do. I have 2 HD2, and I have one that has picassaweb syncing, the other, the picassaweb sync is missing from the sync list.
Is there something I can do to port over perhaps a driver or something to the one that does not have?
Kind regards,
BladeZ

Look up Picasa Tool Pro in the market. I think that would allow you to sync, if not at least view you Picasa Web Albums.

Well, saw this for a while ago, but kind of lost the use of it since the web-version of facebook does everything a user needs... So, why re-invent the wheel unless someone has a good idéa?
Something to sync the calendar on Facebook with the calendar on your WM phone? Or the contacts? Or upload all the images from your phone.
(Admittedly it would be fine just to sync them with outlook or an Exchange server, but not everyone uses those POS systems....).
Anyone got any other ideas?
im also loooking forward for a Windows app as i cant stay w/o fb for a long time

Hmm... might be a good idea - Anyone else who is interested in the topics mentioned above?
Don't have alot of time right now since the exam-periode is comming, but if I have time I might fix atleast the calendar and contact application But I'll post a reply in the thread if I'm up to it
Hey-
I was thinking of an idea but couldnt even begin to code it.
Something along the lines of full contact list integration. As in complete synching of contacts in phone with birthdays, addresses, etc. Complete integration with a contact manager so that you can view someones pics, write on their wall, etc without a browser, almost as if the data were stored in your phone. SMS like wall posts and messages and calendar synching. If anyone likes this idea and would like to work with me on it, I would be willing to make a photoshot mockup of what I am imagining to better get my point acreoo, but I think full and seamless browser-less integration would be amazing!
i use the Fonebook application to sync with outlook but I think a facebook program would be a great addition like adding events to my calendar, syncing photos with outlook, birthdays and whatever else. I think the mobile facebook experience would be improved with a program.

WOW...is no one making a facebook app? It would seriously be the icing on the cake for WM. Someone contact me, and we can work on it together!
there is one i found called snap2face which allows you to browse pictures and save them to your device. its pretty basic and definitely needs some tweaking to speed up load times but for a beta its not too bad.
Bump....
So im working on something but it would really be nice if someone wanted to work on it with me. I think there is a lot of potential here.
any progress on this?

HTCSync..

Hi all Desire owners,
Can you tell me which version of HTCSync the Desire ships with?
Is it 2.0.25? I heard a rumour that it was 2.0.28?
Thanks!

I believe it doesn't sync tasks but I may be wrong.

It will sync with Outlook but only contacts and calendar, NO tasks.
I also had a problem getting it to sync with Office 2010 x64 version, but it works well with Office 2010 x86 verion.
How would one snyc his outlook tasks if it isn't supported by htc sync?

I find Outlook to be premitive with it's notes so I started using EverNote ...
I think this is one area where the Android is let down, full syncing capabilities. from the various syncing apps that I've seen, none yet seem to perform as well as MS ActiveSync.

i couldn't agree more. i started to use evernote as a workaround until i found that you can't edit noted on the device if they were created on my pc ? that makes the app completely useless to me.
perhaps evernote will update their app as i was hoping that it would replace the reliable but poor outlook notes app and one note. my search goes on ...

HTC Sync 3.... Has any one tried it on the Incredible?

I saw that HTC Sync 3 launched for a couple devices in Europe last week, namely the Desire & Wildfire. I'm wondering that since the Desire is virtually the same hardware as the Incredible if it will work for us. HTC Sync 3 adds iTunes synchronization and thats huge for me as I don't prefer the Doubletwist workaround. So I pose these questions;
has anybody tried it? if so does it work?
does anybody have a mirror to the software? I've tried the HTC site but it doesn't recognize the Incredible's serial number so it will not download.
Thanks in advance for the help.
i haven't tried it, but its reliant also on the PCSCII.apk and whether that supports it. I've heard reports it doesn't work with the Inc, but I have it downloaded somewhere so I guess I can try it out.
My bad. It works, at least for what I tried it with (wmp syncing).

Awesome, thanks Adrynalyne... I was able to sync all my photos and my music with my PC using the version you posted.
Absolute must have! Thanks!
Outlook
Does it work with outlook contacts and calendar (which is ALL I use it for)? Thanks!

Worked for me. At least it appears to have worked. I didn't get any errors. A picture of the Incredible actually pops up on the screen when connected to the device. I synced my music, and my contacts/calendar from Outlook 2007. Cool !
I can't speak to contacts/calendar/mail because i sync mine OTA with exchange, but it works beautifully for syncing music and other media. I honestly don't understand how HTC managed to go so long without releasing something like this.
Works Great!
Just intalled and it works great with my Inc.
Outlook, Itunes - this is awesome!
Seems to install and sync fine - except it can't see my sd card. Have I missed something?

Mine is a little funky with memory also-
The only thing it can see is my SD card - I dont see anywhere to change what it is looking at.
You can't. This version isn't specifically for the Dinc, so it doesn't have the ability. One would assume HTC will soon have a Dinc specific version out.
I don't care for Doubletwist either. I found TuneSync and it works perfect. Opens my iTunes I check what songs I want go to the app tell it what to sync done.

[Q] Android (CM7) & Outlook - Can we sync?

Howdy!
I'm currently running the roms in my sig. I'm absolutely loving the americandroid (even though I'm not american! ), but I have a problem.
My previous android installation used HTC Sense and HTC Sync. This build doesn't have those, thus I can't sync my phone with my outlook.
I've exported from outlook and imported to Gmail, but it's very inconvenient having to do that every time something changes.
Is there a way to automatically sync my phone with outlook when cradled? If not, perhaps to autosync outlook to google? I've been looking for this for weeks, but haven't yet found a permanent solution. Please suggest!
Thanks in advance!
Just to make sure, you want to sync outlook as a stand alone client or is it apart of an Exchange combination?
In 'accounts & sync' there should be 'corperate email', just follow the input screens & you should have it on your mobile - I currently have it setup to sync email, calendar, and contacts.
If it's the later option you can use Google Sync I believe

I don't think you can use HTC Sync with a CMX, only works with the ones which are based on the HTC roms which had sense or something.

I'm not using any exchange servers because I wouldn't know how to. It's all local. Exchange would be might convenient, though I bet it's a pain to set up.

Yes, that's the PC client, but your phone needs to support it, which needs HTC Sense & Sync.

I'm very surprised there isn't any android apps readily available for this, or did I overlook any?

Do you mean that if I install that application, it will sync whatever I do in Outlook with my gmail account? I don't think it does, but if that's it, it'd work indeed!

my bad, only does calendar, when I'm at work I'll try find a different solution.
Use MyPhone Explorer. It can sync via USB or WLAN. Install the actual version via market on the phone and install it on Pc. It's better than HTC Sync, because you can filter items and choose a different contact/calender folder.

Missing Sync - did anybody try?

Ok, did anybody try:
Missing Sync?
I want to know if it really nicely syncs Contacts and Calendar with Outlook.
So none of you syncs the device with Outlook?
Or PC Companion does?
I would be very grateful for information.
Anyone?!......
I'm not a outlook user but maybe this can help: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gappssync
you are syncing with google, so try to sync outlook with google
Someone once recommended using HTC Sync, and even though I didn't have an HTC phone it worked!
But I mainly use CompanionLink.
This is a great site to do some research:

Yes...I've used Missing Sync with Outlook 2007, but it also works with 2003 and 2010. It allows me to sync without putting my data in Google.

I'm an Android newbie and missed my WMDeviceCenter for sync with Outlook 2007 calender and contacts alot.
I've found MyPhoneExplorer and apart from some errors with repeating appointments it works as it should, and besides that...it's free .
