lucky you.
I'd be on my first (bought in december), if I hadn't lost the first in a wreck.
i guess ive just had bad luck then with my phones.
I've had mine since the first pre-release day... It's in perfect condition except for the dust under the screen.
I've had mine since Nov. 4th, my wife has had hers since Feb. 15th.
Except for a very few specks of dust under my screen, and the magnetometers in both phones refusing to work (which makes me suspect it's a software issue), no other problems to report.
still on my first one (got it on launch-weekend Friday)...
i seem to be getting luckier with my smartphones, I had 3 Moguls way back when, then just 1 Touch Pro which worked great, and one Hero, but i had the screen and bottom part replaced (screen had dust and the buttons had peeled off)
I'm on my third.
First one the trackball stopped working, then usb port.
Second one they sent me was obviously used. I refused it.
I'm on my third one, no issues so far. I have forgotten the defective ones I received and am now very happy with my phone

Same here.
Personally for my own usage..2 since the end of this past April, and that was because I was stupid enough to swap it for the 5 POC Touch Pro 2's I went through before getting my current Hero back. The other 3 I got in April at the same time of my original hero have been going strong.
Mac
Still have my first one. Still a fan. But can't wait to ditch it for the Evo or successor to the Evo.
Still on my first, got it Cyber Monday. Thinking a replacement is needed soon. Dust under the screen, end button worn smooth, battery cover is taped on (tried the cover from another hero, its the phone), usb connector is getting worn out. Should I try to warranty or just file insurance?
I'm still on my first Hero from Oct 09 but I had to get the trackball replaced recently. Still going strong though.

first hero since early dec
i want a sprint 4g world phone desire z
I got my hero on the second day it came out, it is beat up but still runs just fine, no dust under glass. Having played with an EVO I don't like it, to big, maybe the next uber phone come winter or next year.
I got my Hero sometime in October. No dust under screen but there is a slight scratch on the glass. The Phone/End and the back keys all have the silver film coming off of them.
I am on my second Hero.
Had to replace my "launch day" unit a couple weeks after purchase due to the orignal ROM Leak that was being caused by the Bluetooth connection bug that permanently affected the ability to receive SMS messages. Had almost forgotten about that gem...
Have dust under screen (top right and lower left) but other than that looks the same as the day I opened the box...until you turn it on.
This is my first one since December.
G/f and I got ours in december. Never replaced. Thinking of replacing hers though won't oc past 691. Mine can. Her buttons are fine but I play with mine all day and rom swap too. Almost every day. Mine runs really strong. Wish I got the nexus one. Would have had a blast with it. Next will not be an evo! Waiting for a dual core 1.5ghz then I will change. I LOVE MY HERO. Best phone I have ever had. And I came from having titans and mougels 6700 and 6800 man them phones were junk.

So,
Just for fun I thought I would share my story, of how I broke my first evo. I set my evo on the bumper of my car. Rearranged something in the the bed, and forgot my evo on the bumper. 20 minuets later I'm driving and looking for my phone. Well to make a long story short, the evo stayed on my bumper until I hit a speed bump in the parking lot of my apt. I drive all the way back home, and see it right next to the speed bump face down, screen shattered. The good news I have a tough case, and even though it was run over by a car, it still works! I would love to hear any other stories about evo destruction!
Dang. That's crazy that it still works even after being ran over, ha-ha.
I've only just dropped like crazy onto concrete, floors, etc, and it only has one tiny little crack by the search button and some dings.

Personally I'm pretty impressed with the durability of the phone. Extreme damage no phone can withstand, but I dropped it before out of the case and it holds up well to some of the older phones that I have dropped.
I dropped it by accident face first straight flat fall ON the face on my hardwood floor and not one single thing was damaged.
Edit: it was about a 4 foot drop.

I lost mine over the weekend while I was out of town. I didn't even know Sprint offered insurance.
Anyone know if they'll let me buy a replacement at the subsidized cost?

They are so strict on that, they wont do it, why sell you one for 200 when they can get 500 from you. I'm surprised they didn't tell you about insurance, it's a huge money maker for them. They want you to have insurance. It sucks losing a phone

Im assuming you only use the new phone for 1 day, because the wait times to receive a new phone is crazy. I waited a week and a half for my 2nd evo...and now this one has a crack on the back camera lens.

I'm on number 2. First one had the speaker stop working and the kickstand spring broke so the kick stand would flip in and it would fall over all of the time. I wasn't about to be responsible for it falling over and flying off the table so it was replaced.
This second one has been like two weeks and the kickstand spring is on the way to dying again. The kickstand squeaks - it slowly gets worse till the spring gives out. I'm sure the speaker will stop working on this one too.
With the luck I had with the first Touch Pro (12 of them in 10 months) I'm sure I'll be seeing the same crap here. I'm gentle to them, they just all fail terribly. I'm beginning to wonder why I bought another HTC phone after the Touch Pro and TP2 were so bad.
Asurion said 5-7 days for my replacement, and I got an email today saying it's been shipped and I'll have it tomorrow. Amazing...... What can I expect, a refurb piece of crap?
EVO #2 here, First one was fine except it had a cracked camera lens, Then i put it in my back pocket, almost sat down in the car and realized it was there. Pulled it out LCD was broken , Glass intact.
Second EVO - Perfect except for crack on power button. Not replacing it for that. And hopefully its my last one.

12 in 10 months, I would think sprint would just cancel you. I replaced my diamond once and never had a problem with the refurbished one I got. Getting them to replace it took a couple trips to the sprint store though, 2nd trip they ordered my new one. They must know you by name there, probably keep a phone for you in a drawer.

On my second one, it should arrive today. The assurion backorder thing is a joke. They said it would take 3-5 days, that was yesterday when i sent them the info. And fedex overnight is so damn fast. They must have a driver dedicated just to me.
In all honesty, the first one i got a big scratch on the glass, so i decided to buff it out with a whole bunch of different grits of sand paper and polish. Well i did a good job (i have done auto paint multiple times, it isn't much different) but the scratch was so deep i would have had to remove way too much glass to make it go away. So i bought a new digitizer off of ebay. Put it on, was very happy about everything and that very day I didn't have my jelly case on it because I had it off to put the new digitizer on and i dropped the SoB on the floor at work and the LCD went out. Digitizer didn't crack or anything though.
I told assurion I lost it in the trash compactor at work so that I could sell the digitizer and other parts to recoup some of the cost of the deductible and new digitizer though.
I will never remove my baby from it's case again.

Do you guys have the issue of the screen being loose at all? Reason I'm asking is because I'm hoping to get a new one as a replacement.
When the Epic first came out the forum was flooded with people who had the issue but lately that doesn't really seem to be the case. Maybe it was fixed in production like HTC fixed the glass separation problem with the EVO.

The actual glass is loose?
I just got my third one in the month since I moved from the moment.
The first one the screen wasn't and wouldn't go into the phone, there was one corner and half the side that would not seat down to where it should be. The second had a nice one pixel wide line right down the middle of the screen. And my third and current one is perfect in every sense of the word!
Both of my other ones you could separate the screen and the keyboard for a little gap that annoyed the hell out of me. My current one is seriously rock solid!
So from my experience I'd definitely say go for it and try to get a new one. I was doubting if the epic was right for me, but my latest one changed my mind completely!
No not the actual glass but the whole top half of the phone that slides out.
But yea I see a lot of people saying their newew ones are more solid so that's good.

My wife and I just got ours last month and we have had no problems with ours. We love em. You shouldn't have a problem with a new order, but you never know.
Sent from my shoe, I mean....Epic shoe... I mean Samsung Epic!
I've had mine since the first week, and yes, its loose, but only as much as any other slider I've had. I don't think it has gotten any "worse"... I had a cheapo 2 pc. Best buy hard case on it, and with that it was perfectly solid. The 'action' of the slide, the spring assist of it, is just as good as new too. If yours is that horrible, take it back for sure... I just accept that sliders do that, as long as it doesn't butt-dial from slight opening, I'm ok.
The first one I got on launch day had separation of the glass to the frame. Made clicking noises after I turned off all the clicks and hapatic feedback ****. The 2nd and 3rd Epic's I had, have been rock solid.
i got my epic in october and since then its loose now i guess its normal from normal use because its a slider...my cousin got his last month and his is loose too now.
I got myne on release day and have no problems at all mybe jus a little loose keyboard but I don't use it much so I don't care

The issue of loose or wobbly screens is a known one. I have had to replace my Epic twice due to that reason. So, when I was getting the one I have now, I asked the sales rep. to let me check if the screen was wobbly or not, before he activated it. When you pay so much for such devices, there shouldn't be any margin for imperfection. You should get your phone replaced.
Ok, so i picked up the Nexus S early today, and well I'm in LOVE with the dam phone. BUT i've been through 2 Nexus S's already: 1 because of a dead pixel right dead center of the screen, and the other because of real bad touch screen issues. The touch screen works, but it would become unresponsive frequently and randomly. It works fine then randomly stops responding to input. Took it back and got another 1; same touchscreen issues however not half as bad as the second nexus but still there. I didn't bother replacing for another as the store was about to close and didn't wanna bother but I will go back on sunday if the issues don't go away. Pressing the hardware keys seems to always fix the stalling issue so maybe it's software? idk but it's VERY annoying -_- Has anyone on here experienced these unfortunate issues?? Sound off below!
How did you even get a replacement one? I stood in line, was the fourth person at my best buy and almost didn't get one. I was the last person. They had a total of 4 phones. Every BB in my area for that matter (orange county, ca). I have a ring shaped "watermark" in my screen and I need to get it replaced. Other than that I love this thing. The plastic is not as scratch prone as the vibrant by the way. Also, crazy that this phone was literally manufactured one week ago and got shipped to best buy. That's a crazy turn over time. No wonder they only had 4 at launch.
My screen seems to sometimes not respond very well either, but it doesnt bother me enoigh to exchange.

Or if you got the Black Tie protection you can go in after 30 days, plus it covers accidental handling damage. SOLD.
Is the unresponsiveness caused by lag, like, if you press an icon, does it launch moments later? Because this is a problem that plagues the Vibrant. Gingerbread not living up to what it says it is?
Not sure which would be worse... an issue with Gingerbread lag or with the touch screen not registering.

BB's that don't normally carry and sell Tmobile are limited to 4 phones (my understanding) BB's like the one I went to in my area which sell tmobile had about 80 in stock which they didn't even sell thru half my guess. I was real cool with the staff they just exchanged no problem

NO this isn't lag in gingerbread lol.. This phone FLIESSSS out of the box. its the touchscreen. It becomes unresponsive when i tap anything or swipe. I barely have that issue in this phone than on the last one, but when it happens it's extremely annoying.
same issue here. i can't even unlock the screen now.
My NS is easily the most responsive Android phone I've ever used. Sucks you guys got duds. Luckily if something happens, apparently no one bought them here...
This is also sometimes happen on my HTC Desire. If it does not happen so often, then I think it is OK.
I also found that our finger might contribute with this problem. Too dry or too cold, for example. When that happen, I rub my finger and it works.

well, being as this never happened to me on either of the 2 vibrants and nexus one I owned prior to this phone, it tends to really bug the hell out of me.
Extremely responsive here. As responsive as my Vibrant & G2, if not better.

Screen actually feels more responsive, but that might be attributable to the fact that I cant actually feel my fingers.

I will do that. Early Incredibles and Evos had screen issues where they didnt respond without being "grounded." Quotes because a software update fixed it.
I'm on a couch right now if it matters.

Yeah I'm huddling in a corner against the brutal MN cold...o wait....no Im watchin King of the Hill in my hot as hell (damn GF) house. My NS works just fine grounded or not. Responsive as hell.
the issue seems to happen very very little now. I might just keep it. If by sunday it doesn't continue i won't bother takin it back. But man, the last phone I had was unbearable. Literally happened every minute
soooo my touch screen went out about two days ago. not all the way out, just stop recognizing some touches. heavily dependent on which button i used to wake the device. (running MIUI android)
this will be my fourth tmous hd2.. if i want to pay the $130 for a replacement one because my warranty won't cover it because the water damage sticker is pink. even though the phone has never even seen water.
The first hd2 i had, digitizer went out, the replacement wouldn't even get passed the stick together screen on first startup. so i had to send that back and get a new one. I'm not too sure how badly i want to pay the 130 because it's a known problem on the HD2s and the sticker could have turned from someone breathing on it heavily.
I'm thinkin of maaaaybee getting the sensation in a month or so. but since i'm using a sidekick until then, i'm not sure if i can do it lol. it has an astounding battery life of just over an hour.
anyways, that was my rant about HD2s and stupid warranty/insurance stuff.
i am not sure if it's the usage that people give to MO phones, or if it's just bad luck. I've bought mine used, 6months old "as new", and it runs in perfect order, with no problems at all. (lucky i guess)
well the first one i had for i'd say 8 months.
and then this one for about seven.
but i remember reading a thread a while back about cleaning the connection from behind the end button and it helped the problem but i can't find the thread now.
Has anyone else had bad luck with this phone? I just got a replacement and the earpiece on this one is bad too. This is my fifth phone in a year and tmobile is horrible with giving me another phone, basically they told me I have to pay for a new phone or get another slide.

you've had some bad luck dude. Mine was completely fine
Since the phone release I've owned and flashed a gazillion times. Never had a problem with hardware though. I love this piece of crap
Sent from my fingertips using Android.
Mine never had any real problems. I didn't like how the phone was made of cheap plastic. It made the phone feel quite low end. But the phone itself was without fault. Maybe a little short on the power side (my phone had a tendency to crash under a load), but it was a very great phone throughout
My phone was great since June 10th, 2010. I did root it on the 31st of December and after that everything was even better.
Of course I don't own it now, but it's still in my house. (Passed down to the mom)
Before I got the slide, I had the G1. Replaced it 4 times. The slide hasn't been replaced once yet, knock on wood. Compared to phones like the G2, the design feels solid to me, and it's taken plenty of abuse.
Hard to say why so many are having trouble with the model, maybe a bad batch got produced or something. I think it's a great Mid-range phone. Except for the camera, that does suck.
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA Premium App
It is known to HTC/T-Mo that the MT3GS has many hardware issues. The largest problem being blurry CMOS in the camera. I've had my Slide replaced twice, once for blurry camera, second for defective radio.
