ive tried a whole bunch of different combinations these last 2 days and for the life of me i cant get any android rom to pick up the g-sensor..anyone else have this issue...or can tell me what im doing wrong?
I believe someone suggested calibrating the sensor in windows mobile can have some effect in android.
ive tried that and still nothing..
i have the same problem tryed every android build but the sensor didnt work on none of them
yea same here it kinda sucks but i hope it can get fixed soon idk if it matters but im on a tmo-us 1024 hd2
best calibration is turn it off. download gscript lite from market and follow these direction. i only turn it on when i playing a game that requires it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7989313&postcount=2551
how do i turn something off if it doesnt work from the start?
You may be better of, for now, without it. Many users still experience freezing caused by the sensor.
If I were you I'd start from scratch. Task29 your phone, flash a new radio and rom, format the sd and load a new build.
Hyperdroid has a reliable g sensor, for me at least

Can't start not a directory, does anyone have a link for the .sh file just to ensure I've got the script right

I am very interested in the Android development for HTC HD2 and I would very much like to try one of these builds. However, I'm totally confused as to what to do, how to install, what to install, which version to choose, etc. In other words.... I'm not a developer!
I would therefore suggest an "Available Android Release Thread" here on the forum, where each developer who is working on this can have a post that they can update when they update their release, and where they could list the installation steps and the prerequisites for going through with it.
If this already exists, please excuse me, I just didn't find it.
If it doesn't, I would appreciate it greatly if you could take the time to create it.
Thanks, and let me add that I and probably the entire HD2 user community, greatly appreciate and value the effort you guys are putting into this!
1)Install HSPL on your win mo.
2)Load Radio 2.12.50 (must end with 50) via bootloader.
3)Download hyperdroid v 1.5
4)In your root of your sdcard, create a folder "HyperDroidV1.5"
5)Copy the files you have downloaded to the folder you just created.
6)Open up the folder, tap on CLRCAD to enable sound.
7)Tap up on Haret.exe to boot linux.
8)Wait for about 5 mins for initial.
9)Viola, you got android on your phone.
P/S : If you dont know the terms yet, do some homework by googling it. It is readily available in the net.
there are stickies on how to install, what version is personal prference
and the majority of devs who release their builds do say in inthe first thread of what to do to get it running

you reboot your phone from android to get back into windows

Your phone turns into a motorola droid or droid 2?
Just an FYI...
My wife has the same phone and she hates it, for obvious reasons. I will soon be using her phone to create an instructional video that will take you through the whole processes.
I will be including installing HSPL, Radio, Winmo ROM,and finally Android.
So, when time permitting and I can swipe her phone for long enough...
I've done several searches and run many different versions, but I'm still getting sleep death issues. Quick question and answers, has this issue been resolved for sure and where can I find the link to solve it?

Thanks, but I flashed my winmo ROM and updated the radio, now I'm using sergio's desire build perfectly
One thing that should be noted, my feeling is that WM stock ROM messes with android and causes a whole mess of problems, so you should flash an approved ROM before booting your android. This is JUST IN MY EXPERIENCE.
Had SOD with every build before, now I'm nearing the end of my second day with no SOD issues at all.

OK FELLAS,
i'm not a noob. been flashing for a while now and am pretty much tech savvy, but this one has me for a loop. recently, my phone just started doing this; i can install and launch any and all android builds so readily available here from the XDA chefs. EVEN the DARKSTONE DESIRE HD BETA 2 worked and i played with it for an hour or so. HERE IS THE PROBLEM; i used to in the beginning be able to boot android over and over and over with my android launcher icon thats built into the current energy rom im using. (24631 04 sep) however now after a reboot, I run into a brick wall with the prompt that reads "cant find rootfs. you need to unzip a rootfs file to your memory card. job control turned off"
here are the things i have tried to remedy this:
1. format card= didnt fix
2. try a different card= i have 3 different cards; this didnt fix it either.
Only thing i havent tried which i am reluctant to try is task 29 and reload the WINMO ROM.
ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE EXPERIENCING THIS AND IF SO, HOW DID YOU FIX IT?

What Rom radio you using?
Are you using an auto boot or multiboot
Are you renaming the folder to Android and putting that folder on root? And dies your startup file read rel_path=android
If all correct
Seems like task29
And new Rom radio is the answer

ALSO AN UPDATE; REFLASHED 24631 UPDATED DATE,TIME,QUICK GPS, AND THEN GET THIS; IT BOOTED DESIRE HD ROM SUPER QUICK BUT OTHER BUILD IM USING Core_Droid_V.0.2 STILL DIDNT WORK. IM GONNA TRY DROPPING ANOTHER ROOTFS.IMG ON THE CARD AND TRY AGAIN.
I had a similar problem, the problem was that I had unzipped the contents of the "android" folder to the root of my SDcard. What I should have done was copy the folder to the root of the SDcard, after I did this it worked perfectly
I have the same problem here, but not only with the DARKSTONE DESIRE HD BETA 2 ROM. A lot Android ROMs boots great the first time, but after a phone reboot I was unable to boot the Android ROM again.
It shows me these message: "cant find rootfs. you need to unzip a rootfs file to your memory card. job control turned off" or the boot loader freezed completely with some stripes on the screen. any ideas?
RAIDO: 2.08.50.05

Update:
Got a solution from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788764
Just extract your DARKSTONE DESIRE HD BETA 2 ROM into "/Storage Card/Android" and boot it. done!
All you have to do is delete the android folder everytime you boot up android. I was running into the same thing after the initial setup worked good but wouldn't boot back after I went back to windows.

When I try to load a custom build of Android, it proceeds like it has already booted before, eg just a few lines of text, vs a bunch of text like the first time I booted Android (The stock desire build) Is this normal?
It depends of the build you are using. Most of them only show a few lines and then an Android logo til installation is done...
Screen turn into black
Hi,
first i copy the andorid to my SD Card. If i strat the "runapplication" @ the andriod folder, the system is booting but after 2 sec. the screen fades into black. After that there is no reaction.
Can help someone? Please
Im using a normal (OEM) HTC HD2 with only CHT.
Thanks!!
I'm having the same problem (using CoreDroid).
I've flashed my HD2 but I did run the CustomRUU.exe because I don't want to lose my pre-installed stuff.
When I try to run Android it won't go any further than the black screen saying "Jumping to Linux kernel.."

If you flash just a radio then you will not lose anything on your device. If you flash a ROM (either on its own or with a radio) then it has the same effect as a factory reset - you lose all apps and data.
Look for just a suitable radio if you don't want to flash a ROM.
This is about the CustomRUU.exe file running through active sync..
Hi,
I'm back I have fixed the problem.
@ my hd2 is the spl version 3.00 installed also I can't install the hspl and i can't update the radio (my oem radio is 2.18).
I have only uploaded the android files to the card an run it. After 9 minutes the device restarted and now is froyo with sense running on my phone.

Hi all,
Last night, out of the blue, every time I tried to download an app from the Marketplace I got the error "process com.android.vending has stopped unexpectedly" and a force close. I have no idea what would have caused this as everything was working fine up until last night, I can't think of any strange updates or anything.
Anyway, after some Googling I cleared the market cache and data as recommended but now I can't even open the Market app at all - well it opens, but force closes straight off the bat (I see the Android TOS in the background). I now get the process com.android.vending has stopped unexpectedly error on boot and whenever launching the market.
I've attempted to install a newer market.apk (current one is 1.82) but Android won't allow me.
The only other recommendations people have given on here to those experiencing this issue on dedicated Droid handsets is to either do a full format/install or to flash something via recovery (doesn't look like I can do this on my SD build)
A couple of months ago I was getting force closes on the calender app and someone sent me a droid.zip file which had a fsck.exe inside it which allowed me to repair my data.img which in turn fixed the problem. I've formatted my PC since than and lost the files and can't find them via Google, at least not one that'll run under Windows command prompt with "fsck.exe data.img" after placing the data.img in the same directory. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or better still provide an alternative method for fixing this issue?
Using Darkstone's SuperRAM 1.5 Froyo build.
Many thanks!!
maybe you should try an other android rom ?
The best and quickest way to fix this is to use market.app from same build what u got.
So its mean u need to extract this particular app from the ROM and copy it to the /system/app
Or if u dont know how to extract it just ask in your ROM thread so someone whos know how to extract it and than can post it for download.

Not really an option - The build I use is the most stable and one of the most widely used here on XDA (outside the Nand forum) and has been nigh-on perfect up until now (in daily use since before Christmas). I can't replicate how and why this happened so there's just as much chance of it happening on another ROM. Google suggests it's a common problem with the fix (for non rooted/savvy) people to factory reset their devices.
There's got to be a better way and I'm sure the crew here will find it!

This should help cos if u do it this way u actually not installing/reinstalling the app. u actually repleace the sys market.app for the original one from the ROM. So there is no way it will not work again if it was working before after u flashed the ROM.
I'm pretty sure it will do the trick, but also I may be wrong .
I had some issue on my ROM with cam.app and this proced. helped me.
Hey,
you can try this (very simple):
1. Open terminal emulator
2. type "su" (without quotes) and hit enter
3. type "fix_permissions" (without quotes) and hit enter
4. wait until process is done and exit terminal
5. maybe reboot, but should be fine without reboot
This is a common way to fix force closes, so maybe this helps in oyur case too.

FIXED! [Edit: not]
Here's what I did.
Downloaded THIS
Extract it to C:\Droid
Boot into Win Mobile and move your data.img in \Android\ into the \Droid\ folder on your PC.
Start > Run > CMD
type "cd c:\droid" (without quotes) to get into the directory you've created.
Type "e2fsck -f data.img" (without quotes) and say 'y' (yes) to all the errors you encounter. There will be dozens. When done you'll be notified the modified data.img has been saved.
Copy the newly modified data.img from \Droid\ to \Android\ on your device.
Boot into Android - things might be a bit slower/laggy at first.
All should be well!
Edit: This fix seems to have really slowed my phone down. It takes at least 2x as long to run stable on boot (i.e. stop lagging, load all background apps etc). I've imported my previous data.img over and will be trying the fix by Dom (above).
Edit2: And I'm now getting com.android.media force closes with the modded data.img! Music app won't work. Jesus!

How about getting a fresh copy of the ROM, and just keeping your data.img. It may not work, but it's surely worth a go.

Hmm, it seems that this script isn't inluded in your roms. But for you SMS92 it seems that it is another problem anyway.
If you wanna try sth. else see this:
http://all-google-android.com/google-android-forums/t-mobile-g1-modders/fix-permissions/
This is an "improved" fix permission tutorial which goes further than the command I posted above...quote from the link above: "fix_permissions is only intended for correcting ownership issues. It does not modify permissions, as is being requested."
In this post is a downloadlink for the advanced script so it doesnt matter if its already included in the rom...

It's a no-go I'm afraid.
So far the only thing that's worked is running the repairs on my 2gb data.img using e2fsck on my PC, but this in turn created a load more problems (com.process.media started force closing and the rom seemed to be much slower)
Will try some more suggestions tonight.
if your running gingerbread make sure the app is installed on the phone not the sd
I'm also suffering from this issue it started for me when an automatic update downloaded (which I didn't install) I will see if any of the above fixes work for me & if not I will start with a fresh copy of the ROM. Have to admit I have barely used winmo since I started using this build!

I am a noob and have been able to convert my HTC HD2 to android on two occasions. My third attempt has been the most challenging. Im trying to install MccMBoxmaX Transformer SS V4.5 Gingerbread 2.3.3[Sense 3.0] IN 3D and have tried EVERYTHING. Every thread that I can find, every way that has been explained and cannot get this one installed. My phone at this point boots into MAGLDR then reads sd kernel open failed. I updated to Tytung r5 and that did not work. I have been able to work through everything else to get android on my HTC through threads from XDA and it's been more than worth it. Please help.
Are you installing on sd or NAND ?
Never mind, it's an sd build. Anyway, since Im currently using cLK and booting from nand Im not really sure where it is at but you are supposed to set the directory of your android build (where the zimage stays). I think it's in option "10.Services" in magldr .. set the dir and try again.
Could you please explain further "set the directory of your android build (where the zimage stays). " TY
Surely you could just reset through stock Windows 6.5 (there are many guides), then boot it up via clrcad and haret? Or use an automatic build loader?
Also, if after this you still have trouble booting, change the WinMo rom. I'm using OZDroid, which is plain Windows 6.1 (I think, TBH I couldn't care less) with a dualboot app built in to the ROM.
i had this problem a few times before, "sd kernel open failed" is in red writing correct? sorry to say im not sure what caused it but i can tell you what worked for me to fix the problem.
1st i re-installed MAGDLR, 2nd i re-partitioned my phone to the correct specs the ROM i was using suggested, & last i re-downloaded the ROM and placed it on my sd card.
i know this seems like a lot of work but its the only thing i've come across thats worked every time. i've had to do this twice now. if you ever find out the cause i'd like to know & if i find out whats causing it i'll let you know as well.
Much thanks. Exactly what I ended up doing and works fantastic!
