What do you want to change? Your message notification or your ringtone?

notification sound
You can just go to your message app and then select settings and there's a section for notification. To use your own sound, you must place the sound file in the ringtone folder of your phone I believe.

Is there an option to select a custom message ringtone for Liberated rom? I recently rooted/flashed my Aria and it seems I can only select stock message tones...
**Im talking about notification sounds, if that helps clear things up**

I'm not using Liberated at the moment, so I can't give you a step-by-step, although I'm almost 100% positive it's possible. Check the Aria Superthread and see if the steps there help you out...

You can place custom notification sounds in SDCard/Media/Audio/Notifications

Hallo,
the past days i´ve been looking for a ringer that automatically lowers the ring volume when you lift up the phone or mutes when you flip the phone face down
Just like it works on the new htc wildfire and the htc desire hd
is there an app which does this for the HTC HD2
If your running windows mobille stock rom and im going to assume you are. Your phone should already do this, if not slide to settings in sense and chose sounds or something along them lines. I cant remember exactly I've been running android that long I forgot lol should be in there.

In Sense go to--->
Settings --> Sounds and Display--->Quiet Ring on Pickup --> On

Firstly, 2 confirm if ur phone's vibration (hardware) still works...
Does it vibrate when u use d keyboard in WinMo or Android?
You have to activate both vibrations.
sms:
sms->settings->vibration: always (default is none)
phone:
mhhh, can't remember...find it yourself in settings.
=)
It does not vibrate when I use the keyboard for texting etc (and yes, I have enabled all vibrate settings)

also it doesn't vibrate when you boot?
if not then i think your hardware is broken

Just lyk XthelordinatorX says, if it doesn't vibrate when u boot up then its highly likely ur hardware's shot...Send it off 2 repairs.
Thanks for all the help

are you using the default sms app? I had this when i got my first android phone. Way round it was to disable the notification within the default app & then go into prefs of the new sms app.
Hope this helps.... if you already know this then i'm out of ideas :S

This. You have to disable the first app or you'll get either two notifications or just the standard SMS one.
Thanks guys got it working

Hi I've only had my nexus 4 for a few days and I love it. The only problem I have is that I struggle to hear SMS messages. The phone is very loud for calls but not for messages. Is there an app or setting that I can change to fix this? I'm on stock ROM atm.
Any help would be appreciated.

You need to be rooted to increase volume levels with a mod bro. You might look here if this helps https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.liquidsoft.entertainment.volume.booster&hl=nl.
Another non root way is to download louder notification sounds and have a file manager app. To change sound go to sound in settings and use the file manger app just once in the pop up and find the notification sound you downloaded in the download folder of your SD partition.
Hi guys thanks for the replies. I've found an app that let's you browse tones and then set them from within the app. For anyone interested its called ZEDGE and is available on the play store.
