(Q) Extended Battery Help - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hey guys, I just need some help with my extended battery, its the official HTC one and I am using michyprimers kernel, under Windows mobile the battery readings aretotally off and it just does not work there, and under Android using pongsters newest build and michyprimers kernel I can charge it (at least I think its charging) but the reading stays at 100% all the time and that's just now good hehe I don't want it to die at work because I thought it was charged and it wasn't, just wondering if I was doing something wrong, any help would be appreciated.
Thank-you very much. Dane.

Battery life

Hey guys, new to the forum and stuff so take it easy on me. Just wondering, I'm running android from my SD card in a hd2, will that make my battery run down faster?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
In short-yes it will.
In long-power management under Android is not as advanced as WinMo, so your battery will last 7-8 hours on a charge with moderate use...even less with data or Wi-Fi or the like.
So it is the android os and not the fact that I'm running an open file from the SD?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Running it from the SD card makes no difference as far as power is concerned, as it's just flash memory, and really no different from the internal NAND of the HD2. Android devices historically have pretty bad battery life, because the underlying Linux kernel isn't really all that optomized for mobile devices..though that is all set to change with a future update in the Froyo code.
In my battery usage it says that the display is using most of the battery, I've adjusted settings and still no better. Is there a way to fix that or will that be part of the froyo update as well?

kind of wondering the same thing..
No reply from the mod so I guess I will do more research and wait till the froyo update. I may look at some other builds as well to see if there is anything better than what I'm running.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Sorry, been busy. The Froyo update I am speeking of, is some kinda of future code change directly from Google...and God knows when it will be sent downstream. Power management saying that your display is using the most power is usually correct, because well, the display is huge and uses quite a but of power. There really is nothing that you can do to make it use any less power. Android on the HD2 consumes alot of power, as do regular Android devices...and there really isn't much you can do about it.
Thanks for the reply. I wasn't mad at ya or anything. Is there a link or something to keep with the froyo updates? All I know is the site where I got this build. I am using the darkstone froyohd2v3 and really happy with it, except the battery usage of course. I'm sure there are other builds, are there any u think are better than froyo?

I'm using mdeejay revolution 1.5 and I can go about 1 - 1.5 days on a charge.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Wow! A day and a half on the battery. That's really good. Is that with little to no usage or are u able to use it a bit and still have decent life? Where can I go to check that out?

[Q] HTC sense issues!

Anyone else having problem's waking up the screen when receiving phone calls? Or default ringtones continuously ringing without pausing? I love the rom,but this can be quite frustrating. On the other hand, cyanogenmod has been flawless for me.
I don't know exactly which ROM you're running, but I have the DZ running the stock Sense ROM, and I don't have those issues.
Sorry,yeah I 4 got 2 mention It's the virtuous Rom.

Sorry to hear that, I'm runnung the same ROM, no complaints so far, if in doubt you could always do a fresh install
Try using the pershoot kernel thats what i did and now the problem is gone =)

Others using the same rom have experienced the same thing. Some believe its because of set CPU setting for screen off or the kernal. Check out the roms thread and search it. You'll find some tips that have helped others contain the problem.

All is well.
I actually ended up flashing the pershoot kernel and it worked like a charm. No problems since(sense). Thx 2 every 1 for their suggestion's.

Radio for android

Im using mdejay gingerbread on my phone.. but my phone's battery is draining fast. Which radio is the best for HTC hd2 running android. ?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
for my opinion, almost radio versions are same. The problem is that how did you config your phone. Just disable 3g in mobile networks, uncheck all automatic update, background apps...I used to face problem like you, but now is ok. So try to do what I did above. Good luck.

I get excellent battery in MDJ's build so it must be something what you have installed or have enabled.
There is loads of ways to improve battery life and plenty of topics about it.

hyperdroid is, exacly, Good ROM, but not quite what you need ...
I would like a good ROM with "SENSE 3" or 3.5 stable, fast, energy-saving, with the stock RAM and internal memory ...
The challenge now is "BLUEDROID" everything would be fine, but sometimes does not connect GPS, and 11 MB of RAM free, provided that there is practically no background programs....
