Would it be possible to get the PS3 controller working on android, and then specially, for our HD2's? it would mean a great gaming experience

C'mon guys what are you waiting for??? Stop messing with custom ROMs and fake home made panels. Start working on games like Heroes 3 for Xperia. NOW !
still waiting for something like Vmware which i can install on my phone ^^
OK, there is a guy on youtube playing Call of Duty 2 on his xperia. How???????
there is a pocket pc version of call of duty out there is why
There was also a way to get warcraft 2 on your pocket pc. It involded porting it to the stratigus engine and running from there, perhaps a starcraft port would also be possible.

I've been thinking, if it is possible to port a game like Commandos or Desperados, these game would be fun on touchscreen (+keyboard), and requires a 200Mhz PII (don't know if the ARM 520Mhz can handle these)
I am really interested in pc games for the x1, if anyone knows about such ports (like the warcraft2 one) or games like CoD2 share your knowledge with us pl0x.
dosbox works ok with x1 and dos games on my x1
other games you mention are ports which are hacks like wargus
and games where they had the source code and ported it
a thing like wargus takes forever to make guess one can ask the people behind if they are working on a sc version
the other require the games sourcecode to be released or lawsuits will follow suit

Mate - that is VERY cool!
I would LOVE to be able to use my PS3 controller on my HD2, rather than the BGP100.
Fingers crossed we get the bluetooth drivers for that!

You haven't seen this also
If you are interested in alternatives to the MSI or Chainpus BGP100 bluetooth gamepad, google search "modded by bacteria" go to the "work in progress" section of his forums, and search for the thread "Re-housed Bluetooth controller". The creator of the site, Bacteria, will be transplanting the innards of the BGP100 into an SNES controller. Previously, he has transplanted it into a PS1 controller. It seams feasible to DIY into almost any controller housing.
Hi I was wondering if it is possible to make like a emulator of iphone for our Android devices, so that we can play iphone games. I know Android market is growing and soon we will overtake apple market but I dont think that will be so soon. For now is it possible to make a Emulator of iphone/ipad so that we can play the games?

Simple, No
The task you ask is a great one, neigh on impossible to do on current phone hardware. The games would run terribly, the OS wouldn’t be properly loaded. And the coding to do so would be great. Oh, and it would be highly illegal
its possible i see some games in other forum, i tried them on topaz android run but not fast enough

I think his referring to ports of games, not the iPhone games itself being emulated within Android....
As to me Topaz is either the Linux GTK theme manager, or the port of Android to Touch Pro 2 project... Neither of them make sense in his sentence
Its sad! There is way too many games for Ipad
with the new android phones packing 1ghz and some with dedicated gpu, I wonder if this is possible now

It still results into Steve Jobs suing the dev. If you remember the whole iPhone 4 incident

Not so sure about this though. Emulating another platform's app on a secondary platform has been done before and sure isn't illegal. For instance, the StyleTap PalmOS emulator which is out for WinMo and iPhone OS and it sure is legal. Only problem is that with android emulating iPhone apps/games. Apple will be the one that is going to kick up a fuss about it.
so who wants to start writing a binary translation layer? =D

If it was ever to be developed it would be something similar to Wine on Linux which has been going for years successfully, so not illegal but apple would kick up a fuss.
Another simple way, get those dev of iPhone games to come over to Android ASAP. Those dev need to know that Android is on the rise against iPhone, just like China rising against the USA.
It potentially possible to port the playstation software from the Xperia PLay to other phones. It could be functional using the PS3 controller via Bluetooth. Making virtually any android phone a small screen playstation.

I was actually wondering the same thing... I'm wondering how Sony is going to implement their games. Will they just make them .apks that use the hardware buttons, or will it be something more? If so, could that something more be ported and given on screen controls (like the current playstation emulators).
It's an interesting concept and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one wondering this.
I have the same question. Would it be possible??
I am not a dev. Just a heavy Android and Playstation user (with just a little money to buy a new phone again.....)
No need to port as its coming out for android tegra 2 devices. so more then possible. But in reality only "playstation certified" devices will officially support it.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Hmm... I don't see Sony making something they know can be used on other devices. If they are using some kind of psp emulator app... I think they will do their best to have it only work on the play... I'm just hoping somebody will be able to bypass that.
How involved is it to port a Xbox game to Android? I do not know anything about this so figure this is a great place to start? Some of my favorite games have been on original Xbox and I think it would be incredible to port over to Android to play on my shield TV or even phone. Willing to invest to make this happen so can someone help me out....can this be done without spending thousands of dollars? If there is anyone willing to jump on a project let me know. $$$

Without source code, it sounds like what you really want is either an emulator or a remote access method.
You won't find an Android emulator for Xbox, the technology just isn't there. In fact, I only know of one emulator that only works on the PC, and only works with one game, and it was abandoned. (Maybe MS sued?) but have not looked into it recently.
Remotely accessing and controlling an Xbox might be doable, but probably not practical for most games because of latency.

I'm assuming obtaining the source code would be quite difficult and I highly doubt the devs would provide it. Emulation around be cool but there is no emulator. It must be difficult to develop a emulator for orig Xbox.

Yeah, limited documentation and limited interest. Most of the games were available on other platforms, so for instance you could play the PlayStation version emulated or a PC version. There just were not that many good exclusives on XBox that enough people care about when there is so much low fruit to grab.

That stinks I wish it were easier to port a game over. I'm going to contact the game developer and see if.they would be willing to sell the source code. If that's what we need to port a game I don't mind investing
