SD Card Slot now non-functional - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 General

Looking for help on Card Reader problem.
1. Qtek S200 was working great - no known issues.
2. Screen broke after dropping device.
3. Replaced screen, all functions are a "GO" except SD Card Reader.
4. Card Reader Slot not recognizing any SD Cards to include original.
5. All SD cards test good, assuming Card Reader is culprit
6. Checked for bent pins, dust buildup, or broken solder joints
7. Everything looks good nothing visually wrong
8. Hard Reset and tried several new ROMs in case of corruption. No help.
The final observation I made was when the screen is timed out, and I insert a card into the slot... the screen does light up as though the reader is recognizing a card being put in, but it cannot see it. When I check SETTINGS > SYTEM > MEMORY > STORAGE CARD it still says "Not Installed".
I guess I'm out of luck... anyone else have any ideas?

i have the same problem os card slot exactly like u except i didn't change my screen yet

X01HT 2gb MicroSD Problem

Hi all,
I just got recently a 2gb microSD from Sandisk and conected in my X01HT(HTC TyTN), it doesn´t reconize the card and the card get very, very hot
anyone could help me with that?
Thanks
Assuming there's nothing wrong with the card, you might have put the card in wrong, or the card might not be aligned properly when placed into the slot. Try these:
1) make sure the contacts side is facing up when you put in the card (slot facing you, pda screen facing up)
2) as you insert the card (slowly), try to align it more to the bottom left of the slot. If it's inserted correctly, you should feel some springing pushing the card out as you insert it.
3) If the card is inserted correctly, it should bounce back out if you push it in a little.
hopefully that helps, but if all else fails, take the card back to the store.

my htc tytn doesn't recognize storage card

i have delited a program from my MSD Card and from that point my PDA does not recognize my storage card, the card is recognized by my computer, i have tryed other cards and the PDA does not recognise any of them,
does any one can help me please
1st try to clean out the sd card slot in case of something in there causing trouble. Use a can of compressed air to blow out any dust or anything. The reason I said use compressed air is because just blowing can leave moisture on the contacts causing corrosion sooner or later.
Backup the sd card then reformat it FAT32, put everything back on then see what happens.
If this doesn't work, see if it registers another sd card. If it does then it could be a problem with the card, if it doesn't then you might need to HR.
If you used backup software, now would be the time to use it...
Cheers...
I agree 100000000x times with this guy. I have owned my pre-owned Hermes for about two weeks and I was about to cry because ever since I have owned it, the sd card slot never worked. I even tried multiple cards and nothing worked. I was about to give up hope Once I tried using a can of air and cleaned the slot out thoroughly, the Hermes started recognizing the cards. I'm happy as hell now
I had the same problem, I just now placed a different storage card reads it, and it is playing.
It is palying this brand: "kingston SDCO2G" 2GB.

SD Card Issues

I'm having SD card issues. Suddenly the SD card isn't recognized; certain folders/files don't show up in the file manager. I also get a message when opening the camera, stating, "Please insert an SD card before using the camera." If I remove, then re-insert, the card reappears, but I get an error message that I removed it improperly. It reverts back to the initial problem soon after.
Please Help!!!
Unmount the SDcard,
Settings> SD card & storage > Unmount SD card
from there you'll click Format SD card..
You'll lose any data you have but since the card isnt reading anyways there isnt much else you can do to fix that.

This issue isn't a constant one; it reads the card properly most of the time. Is reformatting the only solution to this problem, or is there anything else I can try?
Well if it reads it some of the time the it seems like its a sd card slot that's the problem and not the card... MyTouch's have had some problems with fault sd card slots. You might look into sending it back to HTC and having it repaired seeing as it's most likely a hardware issue.

that blows! i've only had the phone a couple months. this issue started happening recently, not the entire time i've had the phone. is there a way for me to test the slot on my own, without having to send it out?
SD Card Data
Since I've bought the T-Mobile myTouch 3G (1.2/LE) I've had reoccurring problems with the 8GB microSD card that came with the phone. It would randomly say that the card was blank, but a quick pop in and out of the slot fixed the problem. The problem has turned permanent now; my pop in/out method hasn't worked (it still comes up blank). When I insert the SD card into my standalone SD card reader it goes unrecognized; nothing happens (which is the standard reaction when plugging in the reader without a card).
I have another 2GB microSD card which works fine (on my phone and with the card reader), so the problem isn't the card reading mechanism. While in the SD card settings on my phone I hit "Format" by mistake I then clicked the "Erase" button in the following prompt, however nothing happened! Something strange is going on, which leads me to believe that there's a chance I can recover the lost data on the card. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
-Adam

Probably a bad sdcard. It happens. Reformat and try it again. If that fails then get a new sdcard.
By the way, I'm merging with a similar post that you made a couple of months ago.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=692071
I'm trying to keep this forum clean and organized you know.
Now the 2GB card got erased! It was called "2GB," Now it's blank (besides a directory called "LOST.DIR" w/ nothing in it) and called "NO NAME."
Do you think the phone could be causing this to keep happening? This is how it started w/ the 8GB card until it eventually stopped being recognized at all. Is the SD format supposed to be FAT32?

'Blank External SD card' ???

was trying to access a game after putting it into my phone and it froze, causing me to take out the battery and restart it.
After that, the phone wouldn't read the memory card but everything was fine.
I went back to stock and still, it's not reading it but everything else works fine. I will eventually have to re-root it but anyone know what the problem is?
after pulling down the upper bar, it says "SD card blank or has unsupported file system." HELP!!!!!!!!!!
Do You have a micro sd to sd adapter and an sd reader? If so, does your computer read the info? If not then the card is messed up, and needs to be formatted (lose everything) or replaced. Sometimes cards just die.
If you don't have an adapter and sd reader, then you can try formatting it from your phone but again, you will lose everything.
Had a similar problem, in the end bestbuy replaced my sd card as it happened the day I bought my phone. I would start by trying to use it in either another phone or on a computer(like in a usb micro sd card adapter)

seems like the card died because of a corrupted game file,..which sucks!

computer won't read it, phone won't read it..
and like you devastator, i got the phone 5 days ago and had to replace the phone once already because of a crack inside the screen causing dead pixels. blahhh

SD Card - Can't Get Any to Work Anymore

V20 H918 10j (still on Nougat)
Here's when it happened:
We were going on a road trip so I shut the phone off, took out the SD card (64 gig Sandisk), then the sim card, put the SD card back in and closed up the phone. I did not turn the phone back on. Then put the sim card in my tablet so it would have data. That worked fine.
The next day, I want the sim card back in my phone, so I do the reverse. Boot up the phone and it does not see the SD card at all. I put the SD card in the tablet and the tablet sees it just fine. Back in the phone - no go. I try a couple reboots and nothing. Boot to TWRP, it doesn't see it.
I get home and dirty flash the rom (Ovrdrive). Still doesn't see the card. I try a couple other cards (32 and 64 gig sandisk) which work just fine in other devices and the computer and the phone either doesn't see the cards or it says they are corrupt. So I format a 32 gig card (I did it a couple times in both xfat and fat32), put it in the phone and the phone says it is corrupt and needs to be formatted. So I select format. The format box is immediately at 20% and then it crashes.
I tried using ES File Explorer on the phone to format it but still a no go. I re-flashed the kernel that I have been using for the last year, that didn't help either. I used contact cleaner spray and then even used a soft small paint brush to try and clean the contacts. Nothing.
I had not put any new apps or made any changes to the phone in over a month before this happened. So.... I think somehow the pins for the card somehow got damaged or just old and something just got bent or broken or tweeked. I have another V20 that got water damaged and I looked closely at the SD card pins and compared to the current phone. I can't see any difference.
I'm posting this in case anyone else has had this problem and 1. was able to resolve it or 2. replaced the sim reader and that fixed it. Sim readers on ebay are cheap, but they have to be soldered in. Something that small is beyond my skill level.
There is a thread for the G6 that talks about this same problem. No solution. Speculation about having the card reader replaced. One person did a complete factory reset twice and that didn't work. So I'm left to believe this is a hardware issue.
Cheers.
