[Q] Going back to 1.6..

Hi All,
Currently I'm using Cyanagoen 6, on my G1 but finding although it works.. it's forever running low on memory and trying to close tasks etc so I'm going to make life easy on the fella and go back to 1.6 and make things easy for it for the rest of its existance..
Just curious if there are likely to be any issues, or whether I can just re apply the DreamIMG.nbh I did early in the rooting process and that will be all I need to do.
Cheers,
Applying dreamimg.nbh will bring back to RC29, which can be, hopefully, will be updated to stock 1.6 over the air. You would loose your root and all of your info. Much better way would be to just flash one of 1.6 roms. I suggest Super-D1.9.3, then just remove the features you don't need. That's what I had for the last 6 months or so, fast enough, super stable, no ptoblems at all.
Good luck.
NO! Do not use DREAIMG.nbh, it'll revert EVERYTHING (along with SPL and recovery) to stock, so you'll be left with Android 1.0 and no root. Sure, you can apply official updates to it (and not only OTA, flashing official zips through stock recovery will also work), but why don't you try one of ROMs based off Donut (I recommend SuperD or TheOfficial, they're very smooth and with that they're providing you with extra goods)?
Went back to stock.. the got the OTA update.. It will do for now till I upgrade...
The G1 is only used for development really so it will be fine as is.. certainly helped going back as now not running out of memory constantly..
Thanks for replies.

Stock ROM of 4.22.651.2V De-Odexed issues

hello dude, sometimes i use the camera take photo and the system well crash...
i have installed the camrea fix "GBCameraFix.zip" in this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038701
and i have installed the latest combradio is
EVO_Radio_2.15.00.05.02_WiMAX_27243_PRI_2.15_003
somebody know??...help...
All I know is I flashed the rooted rom and my video camera would force close every time I tried to use it. I was still on the froyo radios.
i nandroided back to old rom. everything works on it.
So I don't have to start a new thread, I am running the above rom -- I came from the stock 3.70.651.1 deodexed rom. In the 3.70.651.1 rom, the number for the battery life overlapped the green indicator at the top. Is there an easy way to get this number back up there in the new rom?
Thanks for any help.

Deodex stock Galaxy S3 ROM!?

I've been banging my head for last day or so trying to deodex ROM with either oneclick: http://forums.acsyndicate.net/showthread.php?113-Re-Odexing-script which errors out saying "we have no root access" but i think its more than that (the app is really old and not sure how well it works anyways), this trusted method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1600805 after pulling each file successfully errors red on every single app when i start deodexing This kitchen that rom cookers use: https://github.com/dsixda/Android-Kitchen i think requires linux partition, and i dont even want to cook roms at this point.
All in all, all im trying to do is change priority of TW launcher to number 1 to maximize smoothness (curious thou if anyone tried it on US Galaxy S3) but after going through so much just to get there, i might as well just ask: Can anyone just deodex this rom: http://d-h.st/tTY
I dont want to install Custom Firmware because of samsung things they get rid of
bump, anyone?
Im looking for it 2. I just want stock deodexed rom till that imei crap gets fixed

Auto-rotation issue seems fixed with 1.054 based ROM

Version 1.041.00 of the OTA ROM was flat busted on my A500.
I've updated to a v1.054.00 based ROM and have not had any rotation issues since. The ROM is called FlexReaper-Relix_rev5 and is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517181 If you do not want a custom ROM then Civato has also placed a stock OTA of 1.054.00 (with Root) at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633907
I am thinking that perhaps 1.054 is the fabled fix that Acer is putting on devices sent into them for "repair"?
It would be good to know if someone who has received one back from Acer repair can say what specific ROM version is installed when they got it back. Go to Settings -> About Tablet, then report back the Build number and similar info. That would probably help the devs out a bit.
Also, I have the same v7 bootloader as with 1.041, so all that has changed was a version update to the ROM. I also briefly tried Civato's OTA 1.054 ROM and it was not having any issue. I usually had the issue on 1.041 within a few minutes of booting and running just a couple apps.
Knock on wood, hopefully my tablet will remain sane.
Good luck!

OS replacement vs 'de-bloated' stock ROM?

Scanning the forum today, I came across this:
[ROM] Z.A.D.Mix7 -Stock Base Rom-
Click to collapse
It looks like it would solve all the issues I'm having with my A7:
Enable multi-user mode
Enable on-screen buttons
Replace ZTE's built-in apps.
Is this a safer route to go in general than installing Cyanogenmod (when it's ready)? I've got CM on my Nexus 4, and yes, there's nice stuff there that's probably not here, but is a de-bloated stock ROM more likely to be bug-free? More likely for the camera and sound system to work fully? Also, will a debloated ROM allow for OTA updates - or allow for them to be sideloaded? I guess I'm asking, if I were to install this, what would be the procedure to get Nougat once ZTE comes out with it? Wipe and re-flash? Or wait for a de-bloated ZTE nougat ROM and flash that?
In order to flash a ROM on your axon 7 you need to unlock your bootloader which causes your warranty to be void and you can no longer receive OTA updates. Also if you are running a custom ROM you will have to wipe your phone before flashing an OTA update. However if you are running the stock rom you will probably only need to flash the update. I've tried both CyanogenMod and Z.A.DMix7 and honestly Z.A.DMix7 is definitely the way to go. In my experience using Z.A.DMix7 it seemed to be as stable as the stock rim and didn't have any major bugs. The only problem I had with it is that since it it rooted there is no way to log into Snapchat. How ever if you don't want root I think there may be an way to remove root from the ROM however I haven't tried it so I'm not sure if it'll work.
I use the debloated rom with android n-ify, xStana, and gravitybox and it is much better than the stock rom. I haven't tried the cm rom. You would have to flash the stock rom and recovery to get OTA updates.
