The Streak prevent charging in airplane mode,
what's it intension? How to override it?
I've heard that it is fixed in 2.1, only affects 1.6.. Dunno the intention?

So a few weeks ago, I noticed when my nook reboots, it does not automatically turn on the wifi. I have to do it from the settings area. If I do it from the notification bar, it doesn't work so hot. I put on green power today to see if that would help me flush out the issue and, even though wifi is on right now, green power is insisting that the airplane mode is on. If I set airplane mode on in settings, it does turn off the wifi and it sets in a state where it says "disabling wifi connections". It never toggles over to a check being there for airplane mode and giving me control. I have to back out of the settings and come back. When I do, airplane mode is not visibly listed as being on. I can turn the wifi on and green power insists airplane mode is on. If I reboot, sure enough, no automatic wifi.
Any ideas? I've got CM-7 08042011 running.

Magnetron1 from the cyanogenmod forums has a way to avoid this. Go here and find the most recent nightly he modified. I believe it's cm7 nightly 251. He named it cm7 nightly 251m*. That did the trick for me. I've been downloading my nightlies here ever since the airplane mode issue appeared.
Download android assistant from the market and then uncheck airplane mode.

This worked. It had an airplane icon down in blue and when I clicked it, green power finally has said airplane mode is off. Hopefully wifi will be on by default now when it reboots.
Edit-confirmed working. When nook reboots, wifi now defaults to on again. Awesome!
when i disable airplane mode wifi start automatically (wifi wasn't on when i enabled airplane mode)
Anyone has the same? how fix this problem please?
i use miui v4 latest version on hd2

Try this, not guarenteeing it shall work however,
Turn off airplane mode, THEN turn off wifi, Shut the phone off. Then turn it on again. It might refresh the settings
work but if i enable airplane mode, and i use wifi, then again when i disable airplane mode wifi go on automatically again

Ok, so to clarify,
START
WIFI: OFF
AIRPLANE MODE: OFF
you turn on airplane mode. Then turn on WiFi
You use your wifi and then shut it off. Correct?
THen you turn off airplane mode and your wifi comes on automatically right?
exactly right! wifi come on automatically in the last step

I think when you turn off airplane mode it basically restores the settings you had before you turned it off. Try doing exactly the same steps with bluetooth and see if it happens, if what I'm guessing is correct then you can do the same thing and when you turn airplane mode off bluetooth will turn back on.

yeah that's what I was trying to figure out, I know if WiFi is on and I enable airplane mode, it saves that so when I turn airplane mode disabled, it restores the WiFi. So shut WiFi off before enabling airplane mode

Kl thanks for confirming that. @OP as long as you aren't using a Froyo build or an AOSP GB build, you will have the option to have the quick controls in the notification bar. Make use of it, it saves so much time. Drag down, tap the wifi icon THEN the airplane mode icon and you're all set. Even if you forget to turn wifi off before turning on airplane mode, using this you can always turn wifi off very easily afterwards anyway
so i can't enable wifi during airplane mode is on? it's a android bug i thing!

No, you CAN enable wifi when airplane mode is on, but before you turn airplane mode on turn wifi off. Anyway, I don't see how difficult it is to turn wifi off afterwards? Literally drag down the status bar and tap the wifi icon and you're done.
but i do this exactly and wifi return on when i disable airplane mode
Something very curious has happened the last week or so.
The Wifi stays on, even when the phone is in sleep mode. It is evident when I unlock, the wifi symbol on the status bar doesn't bleep (reconnecting), but stays solid (connected). Of course that could be an operating system displaying error, but it's not; functionality is there, wifi stays on, device connected to the internet. And I'm not talking about the short amount of time that the wifi stays on after locking the phone. I'm talking I'm receiving notification etc as if I was using data.
I noticed it when, after waking up in the morning, I realised a massive battery drop (from 65% to 27%) overnight, although I keep my phone on airplane mode at nights.
As I haven't recently used any mods, regedits etc, and I haven't updated or flashed any rom (btw I'm on debranded stock 8107, with KK2), I can attribute this weird but very interesting behaviour to 2 possible things:
a. I installed some app, possibly homebrew, that somehow (even the dev didn't know about that) keeps running keeping wifi awake under lockscreen
b. Maybe it's because I'm on Airplane mode. I kept on being on Airplane mode from the moment I noticed it (as I have input my SIM to another phone). I should note though that there is a sim in the phone, I'm just on Airplane mode. Is that a known feature? Wifi stayin on under lockscreen on Airplane mode? I don't think so, as I would have noticed all that time (I keep my phone on that mode a lot).
That behaviour has persisted after soft-resets (reboots) and battery charges. The only hardware change I made the last week was using a non OEM replacement battery (the ones that reboot the phone when connected to the charger). But I'm using the original battery.
I should note it consumes about 4% of battery life for every hour, quite viable.
thats weird, but to some ppl, like me, i'd be happy if this happens, would love wifi staying on in sleep mode.
but, the opposite happens with mostly everyone
Even more curious thing that I found out today. When the phone is SWITCHED OFF, and wifi was on before switching the phone off, I have battery drop (almost the same as if being switched on with wifi on, around 3-4% per hour, in my instance from 43% went to 11% when I switched the phone on).
I don't know if the (original) battery has been messed up, so the battery index is not reliable (the reason I bought replacements was that in a span of 1 month, I was not treating it right, a lot of charging, heavy operation simultaneously, resulting in excess battery heating etc), or for some reason the use of the fake battery messed up the software part (both battery metering and WiFi stayin on)
I'll do so more testing and I'll report. Has anyone tried to go to Airplane mode and switch on Wifi, to check if it stays on under lockscreen?
It stopped today... weird!
... And it happened again, this time I think it might have been triggered by Audible, I might make a video as a proof.
EDIT: I was making that video, and realized on cam that it stopped happenning, and then I realized I had flashed beforehand the KK4 firmware. What a douche! If it happens I'll try to capture it on camera
When the data connection is OFF (like when you activate airplane mode) wifi remains connected even when you lock the phone.

No that doesn't normally happens, unless you have an app running under lockscreen and using WiFi (like a music streaming app)
Every night I put my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) in airplane mode to disable all communications. However, in the morning, when I disable airplane mode, only mobile data internet is automatically enabled but that is not the case for Wi-Fi.
I have noticed that his behaviour usually happens after the phone has been standing for a long time in airplane mode, like during the course of an entire night. If airplane mode is enabled for instance only for like 1 hr, wi-fi is usually enabled after I disable flight mode.
Do you know how to solve this issue? I always would like to have re-enabled wifi after airplane mode so to don't suck internet mobile data.
I had been trying to diagnose a periodic battery drain on my phone and finally narrowed it down. I've discovered an issue where the phone will enter a permanent wakelock situation once Hotspot has been used and then turned off. The only way I've been able to get rid of the wakelock short of a reboot is to enter Airplane mode and then turn it back off. Anyone else run into this or can confirm the same?
Attached screenshot showing the wakelock and the small gap where I had Airplane moded it away. Note that Hotspot was only on the first hour or so of that huge awake time.
