I know this would be a bit of a stretch, but what I would like to see is an app that would assign a BT device's function to a certain apps function. I guess to better elaborate on what I want here, I would have to explain what prompted such an idea:
I have a MotorRokr T505 FM transmitter 'headset'. It has a button on it for play/pause for music. On my Droid, I use XiiaLive a lot, and love listening to it in my car when I drive. But I am in and out of my car quite a bit so I have to stop it or else it just keeps playing on the phone. I can stop XiiaLive with the BT headset, but when I get back in and press play again, it starts up Music Mod and plays a bunch of random sound files found on my phone. Instead, I would like to make sure that XiiaLive is the app that plays when I hit play/pause on my BT.
OK, so, does anybody think this is even feasible for an app?
I am not sure if it is possible or not, but the if any app could accomplish what you are trying to do it's Tasker.

Planning to get the X1 soon but just wondering is there any music player for the X1 that would pause music when the headphones are unplugged? + also have sleep timer? Recommend some music aps please!
Thanks.
I would also like something that stops the music when the headset is unplugged.
Kinda embarrasing to sit in class and, by accident, unplugging the headset and spreading the tunes in the classroom.

This one turns the musicplayer on when headset is inserted.. Also the other way around. A very nice player.. And freeware...
s2p looks like a nice alternative, however I prefer the multimedia panel.
It shouldn't be so hard to make a script or something for it?
My thought is that you have a program, script or whatever that detects if the headphones are unplugged and then mutes the phone. Should also work with A2DP bluetooth headset.
It would be a big plus on xperia, since media is its weak spot right now. Imho.
I use my music player quite a lot, and am looking for ways to improve on the experience on Android phones.
What I wish to do is to be able to control the music in the following ways, regardless of whether the screen is turn off or on, and regardless of whether the music program is running in the foreground or background.
- long press volume up button: go to next song
- long press volume down button: goo to previous song
- press both button together: toggle between play and pause.
- normal volume up and down still controls the volume
I found a program in the market place, but it only works when the music player is in the foreground, and the screen must be on.
I use this feature a lot on my iPhone before bed, and hope I can do the same on my SGS.
Is there such a program you're aware of in the Market place?
that's interesting
however, I find it easier using my Bluetooth A2DP for that sort of things.
it works both in my car and my stereo headset
i can remote control the play of the music before/next, stop, pause, play, random, volume, etc
best is, if a phone comes in, it automatically switches to phone mode, and when the call is over, it resumes back to music mode.
The only single problem i've found is, i don't know now to answer the 2nd call via bluetooth, if 2 people are calling me at the same time.
I don't use Bluetooth. Also, I love connecting the music player to a proper sounding speaker system in my bedroom and lounge.
Does anyone know if the features on my bluetooth headset should work with the music player on my Vibrant? With the default music player all it does is play but i can not control any of the functions (stop/play, skip forward, skip backwards), with mixzing, stop and play work but skip backwards will only restart a song and skip forward wont do anything. I also noticed when i had doubletwist installed it would start automatically playing when i pressed play on the headset no matter if i was using one of the other 2 music players, this also happened with the ear buds that came with the vibrant when i accidently pressed the little answer button on them so I unistalled doubletwist for right now.
My S9's work great. Everything works. There is no lag or skipping on the Vibrant. With my G1,it was almost impossible to use them outdoors.
I've got three different pairs of bluetooth headphones, and they all work as expected w/ my vibrant. The Plantronics Pulsar 590A, Sony DR-BT100CX, and the Motorola S805.
doubleTwist has a setting called "Headset Controls". It sets doubleTwist as the default app for headset controls. I think its on by default. Launch doubleTwist, press menu, tap settings, and uncheck "Headset controls".
so all the functions work for you guys? did you have to do anything other then pair them?
If you haven't, make sure you enable the "Media" profile for the headphone. After pairing, long press your headphones and select "Options". Make sure the "Media" checkbox is checked.
i didnt do that so maybe that is it, ill test it at the gym today
Thanks
Still does not control any functions in the default music player, any suggestions?

Do you have another pair of bluetooth headphones you can test with your phone? We need to cancel out the phone as the problem.

No but my roommate and gf have a captivate and a vibrant so ill try it on there phone
just tried on my roommates captivate, worked perfectly, so any ideas short of resetting the phone as it took me forever to set it up
Yes first pairing took a while for me also.
just tried it on my gfs vibrant, worked perfectly on hers as well, something must be wrong with my phone, time to get a replacement...wonder if i have to go through costco or if i can just go to t-mobile
reformatted the phone and it worked, so then i spent a better part of 2 hrs putting all my apps on and just tried it and it didnt work again! I only installed one music app, tune wiki, that turned out to be the culprit, it basically overrides the buttons on the headset even when its not on, so you just have to turn off the option on it and all works great now
I ride a Kawasaki Ninja, and it's become increasingly difficult to be able to have one ear listening to music lately (using my Vibrant as my MP3 player).
The issue:
While riding at speeds greater than 15-20mph, the button on my wired headset is activated by the wind constantly (both the stock wired headset that came with it, and my new Skull Candy ones). This causes my music to "sputter" the whole time I'm moving. I thought maybe it was just the stock headset, so I went and got a really nice set....and...same problem. Apparently, it has to do with the wind blowing into that mic/button area, and activating the button. Both headests normally work just fine, but that wind is causing an issue when riding...
What I'm looking for:
I'm looking for a way to disable the headset pickup/hangup/play/pause button. At the very least, just the play/pause part of it, but I haven't found any solution yet.
My music randomly pauses for no reason... I think the button is just broken.
I too would like to disable the button.
Bump
Ideas? Anyone? Getting desperate...
Try a diffrent music player, also dig aroung the settings in the app

There's an app called poweramp and it has an option to disable the button (I think) the app can be found in the Vibrant themes n apps thread

Put duct tape over that part of the headset?
Use earphones with no button? Like the ipod ones?
Looking for an actual fix...
Reasoning:
1) Using a headset without a button:
I don't want to have to carry around 2 headsets (one for music, one for phone)2) Using a different app:
I want to be able to use things like Pandora Radio, which only really plays out of one player.3) Duct tape:
I could just as easily pour super-glue into the button cavity...oh, wait...no
Hello to all.
I just purchased this HU and until now i like it but i have 2 issues that i will need your help.
The first thing is with Gps. Every time i turn off and on the car the gps is closed. Is there any way to open the app when i start the car? I am not familiar with tasker so any other way? I only use it for speedcam warnings so if there is any other program that will open automatic and make only speedcam warning please suggest.
The second thing is that in my other car i have a kenwood unit that i can watch music video and in same time i can go to gps or go to equalizer etc.
In this unit when i start to see music video when i press home button to make something else the video stops. After a lot of hours i managed to solve that with vlc player that gave me video playback in background. So i am watching the video and when i push gps or home button i am able to still listening to the music. But here comes other issue.... When i turn off the car and then again on the HU open automatic vlc but it doesnt start to play from where it stopped It goes only to the folder explorer and waiting to press the folder you wish to hear. (in the stock video app there is no background audio as i said before but if you turn off the car and then turn on it starts from where it stopped).
Any suggestions on this?
Thank you all and sorry for my big post...
I am still in same situation.
Any help?
