Hi XDA-Members,
im looking for a Windows Mobile that is Android-capable but also including Sense UI, mostly looking like the original roms.
I`d like to use Windows Mobile in Office (its my Business-phone) and Android for personal Use.
I`d like not to show everyone (especially my chef) that im using Android on my Business phone XD
Is there something like that?

Artemis and the energy roms are good sence builds,
Are you a noob?
You know about hspl etc.......

I have been running android from my fully featured energy rom without any problems. I think some people in this forum make too big a deal about rom/android build combo.
I used the elegancia roms for quite a while before I finally switched over to a thin wm rom. (Android is pretty much stable for me, so now I use it on a regular basis.) But I can say elegancia rom with radio 2.12.50 worked pretty well for me, on all the builds I tried.
I recommend Dutty's ROMs for a clean, professional look. They appear close to stock, but are vastly better once you get under the surface. Always running the latest builds, too.

I just bought an unused Omnia II i920 off Ebay - It should be here in a week or so. So, I'd like to know...what ROM do you think is the best?
As some background, I'm coming from the i910. I'm currently using Lioryte's latest, with Titanium turned off and SPB MS3.5 with Mskip's enhancements. It's a thing of beauty, and took the Omnia from virtually unuseable to awesome. (I was formerly a huge Evidence/Bgill fan - his ROMs were rock solid! Hated losing him.)
This is how I'd planned to run the O2 - MS3.5. But, the Sense ROMs look pretty nice, too.
Lemme know, folks. I know there aren't many O2 owners here, but I also know that any here are striving to make the phone work to it's fullest potential. These are the type of folks I want advice from!
Man thats tough to say. I mean Ninja makes some AWESOME roms, I just don't like using 6.5
I have made a few and currently my favorite is the Sense 2.5 rom.
Just my 2 cents.
(BTW there are a BUNCH of us on MoDaCo)

I know, I've been an i910 Modaco member for a while. There just doesn't seem to be much activity in the i920 forum over there.
hi, I m 2 owner of omnia 2 and still doesent know how to upgrade my phone to offical latest rom, software say its allready latest, but i know that is Windows mobile 6.5 21863 build
I use to have an iphone, than I switched to the HTC Magic running android and this will be my first WINMO phone.
My question is, whats the difference between the tmobile version of this phone compared to the other versions?
Do you guys reccomend WINMO or Android? is there any stable android roms for the hd2?
Mines stable. Even more if you disable the G-Sensor.
Who says you can't have both? I got an Energy WM Rom and running Bangsters V1.2a Android build.
Id rather just stick to one. In your opinion do you think Android or WinMO is better for this device?
well you really dont have a choice. There is currently no way to flash to NAND so WINMO will stay as the main OS on the phone but as was mentioned before you can run Android 2.2 from your SD card but the experience isnt really like having a true android phone. Development has come a long way but I still suspect we are about another month away from a completely stable,,no bugs, fully compatible ROM. Heck maybe in a month we will have access to NAND. As for ROM to use in WinMo its really up to you and there are alot of great ones out there. Just do some research and find which on suits your needs.
make you a deal. how about some free help, free of charge.
depends on what you are looking for. if you take the time to configure your phone correctly, you can have an extremely fast and reliable winmo device. i have altered my set up almost every possible way and i cant think of anything faster and more solid than this phone with sense diabled and using a lean custom rom.
i also occasionally run android, but more for fun. it works but it isnt nearly as reliable as winmo, currently.
what help do you need?

Damn I guess Ill stick to Win Mo in the meantime, I just dont like how you cant multi task as well.
What radio config do you reccomend?
I have been looking at energy's Max Sense UI and Elegancia's Max Sense UI.
Any suggestions/advices?

i recommend looking at my signature, thats what i run and it aint changing anytime soon.
OK, after much patience and living with all the Windoze BS, I am considering re-flashing my HD2 to Android.
I currently run the Artemis ROM (Windows) and like it because all the bloatware crap that is usually in the ROMs has been removed and replaced with a miimal array of useful system features. That's what I look for in a ROM.
I know this question is frowned upon but I still need to ask... Considering my desire for a clean and fast minimalistic ROM, what are the best choices available in the Android world?
Thanks

look at hyperdroid or darkstone's new ram build, heard it was fast.
i used to be a fan of those fast builds but i tried mdj froyo hd build and im not looking back. sure its a little slower at times but i am a fan after the camera fix.
I think you will like hyperdroid butits kind of old ... anyhow I do recommend that you check any froyo builds since those seem to run much smoother and fluid then any sense I trie so far... waiting the 4gb card to start testing other builds but hyper paired with energy 2.5 gtx winmo rom ad 2.15.50.14 radio gives me great battery life (3-6mA) in standby of course.
Btw u cannot flash android on hd2 but put it on and run it from sd card... cheers and good luck

I am running the Nexus One HD2 build on my phone and it works amazing...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793924
At the bottom of the first post, the developer posted a spreadsheet of the combos that are working...
I have two HD2's and using different combos... Two recommendations
1) get an SD card that is Class 4 or 6... Stay away from Class 2 as they have been linked with issues
2) if you get it to work.. Dont mess it with it anymore. leave it alone, I have messed up so many times doing this.. if it's not broken, dont fix it.
Welcome to the hd2 android world! I bet you won't regret it.
Considering your choices (i was a long artemis user before), you have indeed the nexus one option, not sense builds. I prefer to use a third option, the miui roms. good new is that changing build is easy like changing a folder. Have fun!
It doesn't get anymore minimalist than darkstone's new SuperRam. He shrunk that system file down to 55mb to load it in a ramdisk. It's extremely fast and completely plain froyo. I'd give that one a go first if I were you. Nice thing about not having nand, you don't have to flash anything, you don't have to mess with your winmo one bit if you don't want to.
The other one you might try if you want a bit more bells and whistles is the HD2One Cyanogen 6.1 rom, it's more current than Hyperdroid. I think hyperdroid hasn't been updated for quite a while.
hi guys...
I have the Leo for a year or so,
i used to have WM EnergyROM and iit was perfect for me...
and then DFT came and gave us the Android gift, so i've flashed the NAND ROM
and using it ever since... BUT i don't like the idea of "cloud" sh** of the Android, I see no differance in speed, sure it looks better than WM6.5....
but it never felt solid like WM....
now i simply don't know what to do....
Leave it as is and use the Android OS or go back to WM??
i sure need some advice....
I would install Pyramid rom like I did and be happy!
Im happy with my HD2 Using android Pyramid rom with everyday use and its stable nice and solid. P.S. Im using CLK...
having used all three OS's a lot on the HD2, i can give you a fairly good idea of what id do but its very much personal preference.
There is nothing wrong with wm, I personally think its an amazing OS, yeah it doesnt look as good, yeah it doesnt run as fast but its a work horse and will do anything.
the other two OS's, WP and android are two very different kettles of fish, WP is in my opinion the best PHONE OS out there, it has a lot of great features especially around exchange support and social networks. android is a bit flaky in my opinion, but appears to have more "modability" If you dont like the whole idea of uploading to a clould then that only leaves android and WM, in my humble opinion WM wins from a userbility point of view and android wins from a interface perspective (WP wins that if you include that in to the mix!)

mmm food for thought....
personally i'd go for WP7 BUT MS insist not giving me an Activition key they told me to contact HTC for that beacuase "it should be provided withe your new HD7" (MS Israel) i sent mail to MS USA and they told me to contact my local MS service... so WP7 is a dead end for me...
the idea fo giving google all personal information with Android is also disturbing me but there are a very good and usfule apps in it like Whatsapp (that i use daily)...
on the other hand WM provides me a better an much more convinent way of data Sync to my PC and most of the apps that i use on Android can be replaced with equivilant apps on WM exept Whatsapp...
the G-sensors on WM don't work on all apps (like WAZE that i use daily) kind of annoing...
my friend is a Developer he told me that Android works better on the HD2 i don't know how or why or if it's true even thou the HD2 is WM native...
so i really don't know what to choose very confused and tierd of flashing from one to another just becuase "every one use this OS or the other"
honestly i think that when HTC built the HD2 they aimed for WP7 and Windows will always work better on it and Windows is much more convinient for data Sync. no "special" drivers is required or some other tricks just to allow me to connect my HD2 to PC....
Me knowing that there are no more updates for WM6.5.x from MS holds me back call me stupid but it makes me think that this platform is dead (and i know it's not true)
bahhhh very very confused......
I have tried wm, and wp7 and android, and HyperDroidCM7v3.1 is the best ROM for the hd2 that is out there now. Just give it a try and you'll know what I mean ;-) Really.

i'm currently usin it if you look at my sig.
and in my former post i explaind myself about my opinion but yrt kind fo dont know what to do... i thought about dual boot of WM and Android but it's not a solution because i want to use one OS.... not a GAZILION OS's.....
I stuck with NRG WM6.5 on my hd2. Tried android on HD2 & also via HTC Desire with native Android. Android lacked in a lot of areas I needed daily & is in no way a great looking or clever GUI. I use NRG Dinik further modded by myself & it works perfect for me in business & pleasure & is solid & all functions I use & have tested work well, closest a phone OS gets to having a PC in your pocket.
Have very little experience of WP7 on HD2, used it on native handset but not enough to go verbal on opinions.
Main call is down to how you use your device & what you prioritise, unfortunately you are one of the few who are caught with needs that can not come from one OS.
Best you can do is work with the OS that comes closest & resolve lacking apps ect the best you can ...
I am surprised that a whatsapp alternative for WM has not materialised & also surprised the XDA app never went to WM.
WM is not dead & will be in real use for some while yet but chances of new applications & any form of evolution within the OS itself is unlikely. Shame really as 6.5.5 had a hell of a lot of potential, if MS had developed it faster Android could of been unknown & buying or flashing a phone would of been much simpler.

Because you will likely crash an burn in the bugatti and it will cost you more in the long run.
WM is solid, if the OEMs and networks didnt screw it up so much then it might still be a leading contender today.
as it is, WM is the best SMARTPHONE OS out there, in my opinion WP7 is the best Phone OS out there (android would fit in to this if it wasnt bloated and becoming more fragmented by the week) There is a big difference between Smartphone and phone, and iOS, android and WP do not fit the bill for a true smartphone.

You get my vote, could not of worded it any better.
MS have to take some flack for not developing it faster & reducing OEM derived bugs by creating a base platform that did not need so much modding & stayed more in MS control.
WM is an amazing Phone OS & I find it so wasteful & short sighted on MS to of totally dumped it ...

is there a way that you can tell me the differance between th OS's WM Android and WP?
exept that Android is LiMO based.. i mean the overall difference...
UPDATE: (1.10 20:45 GMT+2) got back to WM6.5 21916 Energy ROM CHT2.0 4.7.11.... and it feel so GOOD
UPDATE: (2.10 2:33 GMT+2) Restored my NANDroid WM keeps on freezing
Well, I do agree that WM WAS a good OS. Just too bad that both support, myphone and marketplace has been discontinued, just to let WM die a silent death... At least Android is guaranteed to keep up for a long time to come

Have a look at this link (if not done already!)for some comparisons comments on various OS's
If your WM is freezing you need to review HSPL/Radio & ROM build you are using & perhaps apps you install !
The 23699 is my favourite & most stable Energy ROM & the 290xx builds are good if you want newer ROMs (New does not always mean better) ...

No big deal never used it anyway.
I have all personal apps & work apps on my own server archive & also contacts are saved on server & via Gmail so we can access & install anywhere if needed.
Why rely on a 3rd party when you can be in control yourself.
As for Market appeal, personally I prefer sourcing apps originally via good old web searching & checking known bugs & best builds(latest ain't always greatest) ...
If you find installing loads of poor quality apps and never finding favourite version of an app again a great hobby then yes a market is a great tool !
i don't think it's HSPL/Radio ROM since i havn't changed them since last radio rom update (2.15.50.14)
maybe some app (i susspect the XDA_IE_6.1.cab)
and my favorite build is 21916, didnt like that the start is on the bottom bar...
btw when i Sync the Outlook all my appointments nd holydays are duplicated on the HD2 (and i didn't PIM backup before Sync)....

Hello, my wife has a sidekick 4g that she absolutely hates and has gotten an offer to trade for an hd2. My question is, the person says it is running 2.3.5. How stable is android on the hd2? If I tell her to trade and it sucks, I will be in the doghouse! Also, if I can convince her to give windows phone 7 a shot, how does that run? I can do the searching later to find out how to boot between the two, but is it pretty risky/hard? I've rooted and rom'd every android phone I've owned but something about winmo. Makes me nervous. Thanks!

I agree. Just make sure the touch screen works they are infamouse for them breaking. The phone is easy to root and nearly every rom on xda runs perfect on this phone
I've had my HD2 for 2 years now, and I knew nothing about rooting etc. It took me a whole day to learn, but now I can easily switch ROMs within half an hour max.
I've tried multiple Android ROMs (SD and NAND) and a WM7 ROM before the mango update, and everything works incredibly smooth and fully-functional. It's actually even better than the original Windows Mobile OS, so I'd highly recommend giving it a fiddle! Trust me, you can't really go wrong if you follow all the right advice (stickies have all the good stuff!)
Once you get going I think you'll really love the variety of builds and find one that you're comfortable with. Enjoy!
Awesome! Thanks guys, sounds like its a go then! I may even be wanting one for myself!

Well it all depends on which rom/settings/tweaks you use but in general Android is more stable and runs better on the HD2 then most native Android devices!

You dont "root" the HD2.
I'm using CM7_Tweaked-2.0.0-LEO and radio 2.15.50.14. I would not describe it as very stable and I cannot get the radio to do 3g or H. Perhaps my expectationa are too high and I'm sure it is more stable on Android than Windows, but I am not happy with it.
I have the same problem. would like to update my Leo by Android but I do not know what is the best ROM to do that in terms of stability, display errors and energy management? I was using 2.3.5 NAND version which had quit a lot of bugs. Now I'm back on WM
Android on the hd2 in my opinion runs better on this device than some devices that are launched with it.
Load up NexusHD 2.3.7 and you or your wife won't look back.

Well you are not going to find out unless you try them. Also "2.3.5. NAND" means absolutely nothing as that isnt rom specific, that is just a version number of Android OS.
In my experience the most stable version without needing tweaks/extra setup etc is the NexusHD2 roms by tytung (Froyo) and (Gingerbread) and they are as close to stock Android as you will get.
I am addicted to trying new roms though and have started to really like the MIUI based roms but am currently testing the new NexusHD2 ICS base.
HD2 forever ...
I have an EU and a from about 2 month a TMOUS:
- EU with MIUI 2.37a stable ... hard daily use, it rocks!!!
- TMOUS to try other roms with sense (big internal space required, i hate app2sd ) and tried 3 different version of ICS for now without any problem!!!
I have thought about changing them for a real android but ... i love modding ... so no chance for other model for now
A quick reply? Buy a TMOUS
Cheers
Roms
Since you have tried many different roms, have you found a sense 3.5 that can play 720p video? Mwakious 3.5 does not
HD2 was build for Android, delivering it with WM6.5 was a joke!
