I accidentally deleted com.android.phone and now my phone is just like an iTouch.
It's a T-Mobile Samsung T959 and it was rooted but not backed-up as I was still playing with Titanium. But accidentally removed com.android.phone
I'm going to try to re-flash through the method showed on this thread.

just pull it out of another rom preferably a stock rom and put it on your phone where it needs to be and you should be good
Ok, I have the stock firmware (T959UVJFD) here, but how do I extract the APK from it?
If you are flasing a ROM, why not the latest unofficial version. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780935
Well, I managed to fix my problem without flashing, but thanks. I'll wait for Froyo.
Also, here is what I did to fix this issue:
got stock rom
extracted files from rar and mounted (on linux) factoryfs.rfs
copied Phone.* to the SD card
adb shell and then cat files from /sdcard to /system/app (copied files)
done
Is there any way to flash Vibrant through Linux?

can somebody please tell me how to return the phone to the stock version that radios work!!!! man this is driving me crazy I just wiped everything off my phone now I think I gotta root it again
Seems like you flashed a bad image, the obvious solution would to be dig deeper on the image you flashed to find something more up to date.

I'd download the full ROM version of the latest firmware (available in this forum) and re-flash from recovery, probably worth wiping system/data/cache etc via recovery first.
The full ROM will include the latest radio image for your handset along with everything else it needs.
Best of luck.
Most radio problems can be fixed by restoring an EFS backup.
Flash the latest stock from and radios via fast boot.

No need... Ull need root explorer and a radio that your phone works with.
Flash the radio first ( no service still)
Then go into root explorer and your going to go.into efs file and move the following files to root of SD
Nv.log
Nv_Data.bin
Nv_Data.bin.md5
Once u do that... restart your phone and u will be fine.
Note the once u move the files into SD Card... the files will automatically be in efs file again and remain in SD Card as well

- wipe data/factory reset
- flash allinone.zip
- reboot recovery
- flash allinone.zip again
- flash Helly_Bean_AddOn or Helly_Bean inverted AddOn ......here when i realized i hadn't got the file furthermore the file i have is named
helly_bean_initial.zip I couldn't find the other file and now my phone just bootloops.

Thankyou xsenman that sounds simple enough,:fingers-crossed:
Well that worked great its now installed and the new rom looks sweet.
Problem i have now is im getting "An invalid IMEI number could cause network issues including the inability to call" anyone seen this before ?
Just found this :
Everyone is having IMEI problems, here is how you fix it.
1) Get ES file explorer or root explorer
2)Look in sdcard/backup/efs
3)Copy nv_data.bin, nv_data.bin.md5 and nv.log to /efs.
4) Reboot and enjoy!
Ill post back after gym if it works =D
That should work. Actually a friend of mine had similar issue with his phone but from what I know this solution helped him to get rid of the problem
Typed with my I9001
tryed the above fix with astro manager from recovery and after file copy and reboot i still get imei error.
thanks for the post ruthlessrat, its good to know someone else has tried the above fix and its worked for them maybe others who stuble across this thread may be able to use it although i can confirm it did not work for me.
I'm assuming my nv_data.bin, nv_data.bin.md5 and nv.log were bad, I'm looking into a imei fix here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881162 Hopefully this will resolve the last issue.
Edit: Good news I've got another phone to cover me for a while so I can work on getting this phone set up
how i want it, I think i may need to return to a stock rom, will this restore the imei ?
Edit2 : Reinstalled Gapps from thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796675 this time its worked and Google play is now working fully so ive installed titanium backup and a few other applications that may come in use.
In the meantime alternate imei fixes and any advice would be useful on other cool features / functionality unique to JB. Thankyou to everyone again without the assistance it would have taken me allot further to get to this point.

Funny you should suggest that ive come across your thread, thanked, rated 5 and believe it should be newsworthy that thread could turn into a real noob's guide, I like it very much. I tried the first suggestion of copying the files , afraid it didn't work.
Second to that i tried this :http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=JqLK_2I-SBM
but unfortunately my nv_data.bin is pure "FF" in the hex editor so I assume this is some kind of default setting? anyone know ?
I am now going to try..
you can start from the beginning.. go back to GB 2.36 (use a JVU ROM + Root, upgrade to ICS CM 9 and than to CM10
Solution for i9000 on JB:-Try not to jump from Gingerbread to Jellybean, as all upgrades should be done progressively. meaning you need to be on a GB 2.3.6> than into ICS and finally into JB.
I'm going to use GB 2.3.6 from sammobile.com
Can anyone recommend an ICS rom ?
following this I will flash Helly Bean latest nightly again.
Edit: Well Ive flashed back to 2.3.6 JVU & used the JVU CF - Root which works great, Ive backed up my rom and ets folder ready for jellybean the problem is when running through the installation ui it gets stuck on the final " Helly Bean installed" screen after making your software selections,
When I click next to finish it just hangs and the phone becomes completely unresponsive. at this point Ive removed battery and restarted but alas I'm still on cf rooted gingerbread. I don't understand why as it worked fine before.
Ive tried clearing both cache's and reset, this made no difference.
Ive also reinstalled stock rom, re flashed CF-Root & Tried again with no success.
I'm going to look into ICS roms and post back.

I recently got a Flipside abroad from ebay and its an AT&T One, I don't have warranty
It was Working nice with some proplems like the touch freezes and apps stop working frequently but it was OK
my cell don't read arabic so i searched how to add the arabic reading and found one, i had to input framework.jar and another root file, run an cmd, and then copy the produced .zip to sd to flash it after renaming it update.zip
The Flash failed and then i had to use the manual way they mentioned about copying outputed files into framework and lib folders
My Device is rooted and I used adbd insecure to give Android Commander permission to access root from PC
i exchanged files and rebooted as mentioned, and That's The Proplem, The Phone Skips At The MOTO LOGO and that is always followed by an AT&T animation then it starts, but the phone is freezed at the Moto Logo, and i tried removing/placing battery, let it to empty charge then charge it
And to restore factory settings through the Recovery mode but the same problem occurs
PLEASE HELP QUICKLY! as i Cannot Use my phone, Its Android 2.2.2 Froyo

after flashing sbf file, no need to wipe data, if you stuck at some where, reflash the sbf file.

You are quite welcome. Been so long since I've used or looked at my flopside (no typo lol) that I had forgotten froyo needed the updated bootloader first. Glad its working again.
So, I deleted system when I changed ROM for the first time (always had HTCs so that's how it worked). That went well(!) Then my phone repeatedly refused to boot into recovery, just restarted, but I got lucky one time and it did, so I flashed the ROM I had on there as soon as I could. I knew that was buggy but it worked. Completely forgot about the backup I previously made. So after a few days of trying to get into recovery it finally happened today, then I tried to go back to that restore, but it failed. Then I forgot to backup what I had now, so I'm back to nothing, because CM11 won't flash. Then when I tried to restore the update for a second time, the screen got brighter and brighter and became corrupt, so I just unplugged it. There seems to be no damage, and I'm in TWRP again, but upon mounting to my computer it isn't recognised. So, is there a 4.3 100% STOCK ROM for the i9505 that I could flash in Odin (or any ROM that I could flash in Odin) that could get this phone working again? Unless there's a way to downgrade to 4.2, then I'll take that too.
Edit: I'm in the UK (BTU) and found this tar file: I9505XXUEMK8_I9505BTUEMK5_I9505XXUEMK8_HOME.tar. I believe this should work, as I have the i9505 and I'm in the BTU region, so should I just flash that in Odin?

I'd rather suggest putting a new, clean rom on the phone by copying the rom onto your sdcard (via cardreader if it doesnt mount via usb) and installing it through TWRP on the phone itself instead of through odin.
Or is there some point I am missing why you specifically want to go back to a stock rom? Since a restore is out of the question why not go forward?
Can't answer you on that specific file, sorry.

The main reason why I wanted to go back to stock was because virtually nothing worked. Scrolling on recovery was broken, getting into recovery itself was a rarity, the charging screen while the phone was switched off but plugged in didn't work, to name but a few problems. I'm just going to stock to fix all of that, by going back to stock, then I'm going to move forward. Go one step backwards to end up two steps forwards.
Anyway, I just did a #YOLO (help pls), flashed it and the phone appears to work perfectly again, to my relief. *breathes heavily*
Solved I see. U flashed the correct one for ur region
Hi community
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930V with Android 7.0. I tried to get root but first I had to unlock bootloader. I flashed the "Engineer Bootloader" (a file named Samsung_G930x_QC_Rooted_BOOT.TAR) with Odin for engineering bootloader and no problem then the phone reboot. There comes the problem, the phone is on a bootloop, it shows the screen "Samsung Galaxy S7" and restart again, over and over.
People suggest to go to recovery mode and wipe data and factory reset, I already did that but it didn't work.
I'm sure that flash the complete ROM again will solve the problem but the ROM is 2.50 GB and my Internet connection is very very slow so I can't download it. Maybe flashing just the custom boot.img the problem gets solved, can somebody bring me just that file? Please I need it really much.
Thank you very much.
From the way the file name is written, it looks like the Marshmallow kernel, which is not the correct one for Nougat. Try flashing this in the AP slot in Odin. This is the correct root kernel for Nougat. The phone may bootloop a couple times after flashing this before completely booting.
Note: We are talking about engineering kernels, not bootloaders.

Hi I was just experimenting with the Verizon Recovery Utility tools on windows 10 on the computer and noticed it was temporary copying ALL BL, AP, CSC ext. Well I selected it and copied in another folder before it could erase the files when done flashing my S7 verizon back to stock. It worked! I got all the files straight from Verizon's official tool. Since windows will throw a error message to anything trying to delete files in use, when verizon tool tried to erase the temp stock files, it denied it since the file was in use by me. Aka copying to another folder as the verizon tool downloaded the files I was right there copying the files mid download and the computer let the files finish download complete and it ended up being I got the files. Im proud of myself. Lol! Being new at this.
So someone just tell me what I do to get you all a copy. They are the most current stock files from verizon. I uploaded them all into Onedrive already so files are safe just waiting for the moment someone needs them and tells me how to upload them. I see androidhostfile or something site. Can I use that one? Even though Im new at this?
