[Q] upgrading htc mytouch 3g radio - myTouch 3G, Magic General

hello all
i intend to upgrade my mt3g from 1.6 to cm6 soon. i am following this guide: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Upgrading_from_CyanogenMod_4.2_to_CyanogenMod_5/6
and i have this phone:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32B SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0006 (SAPP30000)
CPLD-10
RADIO-2.22.23.02
its a t-mobile mytouch3g.
i have followed all the steps in the guide and stopped at the cm6 install.
my question is: it says i dont need to upgrade my radio. i have no idea how old the guide is and i want to verify before i take the final step that this is still valid.
my other question is: if i need to upgrade anything else before i go for the big upgrade.
Thanks

Your radio is up to date. Should be fine.

thank you for your response.

i don't have that radio, and have been trying to find out where to get it. ive got a tmobile mytouch 3g but my baseband version is 62.505.20.17h_2.22.19.26I.
I'm running cm6, was running cm5 and cm4 before. i rooted long ago, but have never found a way to update those aspects.
How do i upgrade my radio? where do i find the current one?

Vodafone UK Magic with 1.6 Donut running at present
I have read the XDA sapphire hacking guide and also some other guides but i am totally confused. According to some guides, i need to first downgrade to 1.5, root it, backup and put new rom. Since new roms have root enabled do i need to downgrade and root it?
I am planning on using:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566676
dwang's rom
Can someone please tell me the steps involved and i will research the steps and hopefully put hero rom on my phone.
thanks
Dwangs rom is a stock 1.6 android rom, not hero.
Google for the 'one click' method, seems to be the easiest way. Then follow this guide if it's your first time:

[Q] HTC Magic ROMs?

Hi,
1. I wanted to root my HTC Magic and I have visited many websites and even watched some videos on how to do it. But still I don't get it. So I thought maybe anyone here can help me with it. I am currently on version 1.5 (Cupcake) and I wanted 2.1 on my phone. So I have been wondering which ROM is the latest and most stable currently?
2. Let's say, I have succeeded in rooting my phone and then I wanted to unroot it back, what do I need? Procedures?

[Q] MT3G 32A Already rooted and w/ CM6.1 whats next?

Hi, I have a mt3g (easily rooted with super one click and running well with CM6.1).
These are the specs:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0013 (SAPP31000)
CPLD-13
RADIO-2.22.28.25
total mem: 204068
I swear I've read A LOT of posts here, I'm just gonna go ahead and ask:
Will I benefit from changing SPL and/or Radio? I'm not a developer, just looking for the fastest phone possible.
Thanks in advance!

For the mt3g 1.2,
Changing radio: "hey look! It's a new radio" maybe changes on how strong of signal you get and where.
0013d spl: fastboot erase. Fewer checks on sappimg.nbh and .zips. maybe other stuff
Your helpful reply notwithstanding, I still was stupid enough to try and flash a 1.33.0010 spl... Lost most of my memory, the 3.5 jack stopped working...
Long story short, I went running back to the 1.33.0013, everything's back to normal. I'll never touch spl's again.

The ONLY spls that fully work on your device are 0013 and 0013d. Everything else will have issues

HTC Unlock Bootloader + myTouch 3G 1.2 35.mm 32A

I was trying to flash an ICS rom in myTouch 3G 1.2 35.mm, and I mess things and wrong the phone. Through trying to get to stock state I also try the HTC Unlock Bootloader for HTC Magic and after using the file SAPP31000_Sapphire_hboot_1.33.0014G now I have this:

What benefits bring the HTC Unlock Bootloader to myTouch 3G 1.2 35.mm 32A
Should I need to restore my spl and radio or this is better?
By the way, which custom spl works in my phone?
Thanks for any comment.

I manage to root my phone by trial and error with a combination of three applications:
Superoneclick
z4root
Universal Androot
I don't remember which one and what version but they help me. I suggest to try all.

I finally got it.. learned alot .. then i had to reroot it cause i restored tmous and during the process flashed the wrong eng spl it powers on but no fast boot or recovery. I guess jtag is the only option.. sad part is its my girlfriends from
Sad to hear that. These devices are in big problems when spl and radio don't matches the originals.
Good lock on jtag, sorry I can't help you in that.
