[Q] QR Code Reader [Module]?? is this available for development? - Android Software Development

Hello everyone.........I have an idea to create an Android App....and one of it's function is to read QR Codes... so..
My Questions:
Is it easy to "include" a QR Code Reader as in, to be precise... is it as easy as just including a module which will do everything.. or will my developer have to code it from scratch ?
also...
Are there any licensing process regarding this ?
& finally
How easy is it to develop this on other Smartphone (iPhones, Blackberry) Platforms ?
Thank you in advance!!!

Ideas for Google Android Challenge

Hello all,
This post is in regard to the Google Android Challenge put out by Google to create/develop new software for the Google Android shell. If you haven't had a chance to read about it, it's basically a new OS created by Google to run on any type of PDAesque cellular phone. The challenge issued is then to develop new software for this OS (written in Java) so that when it is released it will have software available for it.
My question to all of you is what software would you like to see developed for this new OS? The reason I am asking for ideas is because I am a CS undergraduate student working in a research group to create one of these programs. Ergo, I figured asking you guys what you'd like to see created would be the best way to get ideas that will make sense and benefit the community.
Any ideas you submit here may be used in the creation of new software--if you require idea copyrights that can be worked out.
Thank you all in advance,
Jake

Hello Jake,
We'll I'm a Java programmer too, not thinking of entering the challenge though. Had a quick look at the SDK for Android and it does'nt seem like pure java, more like a hybrid of C and Java does'nt it?
Since I have'nt had a thorough look at it, I'd like to ask you a few questions regarding the freedom to program on the platform.
Since it does'nt use the "normal" JVM but googles Davlik where theres no byte code but script code, does it allow better interaction with the hardware, and is it faster? Also can you implement equallizers and other effects in a media based application, which of course was not possible on J2ME. I was thinking on a All-round mediaplayer for Android, something like Rockbox which maybe found at www.rockbox.org which is a linux based program used on iPods etc.. but has been ported to Linux based EZX phones.

Developing applications for Windows Mobile w touch navigation

Hi! I am a beginner Windows Mobile developer.
I have a lot of application ideas on paper and I am starting to write the code next month. I have not yet decided on wether to use managed code (.net) or native code, but I am looking for suggestions from any Windows Mobile developer in here.
Since I am a frequent traveler I am going to write a travel companion to keep track of itineries and meetings. I am also a keen geocaching geek, so I am also writing a geocaching application. Apart from existing apps I want my apps to be finger friendly. No stylus, one handed operation.
I need some help. I already figured out basics of finger operations, but I also want to find out if there is any public API to use (maybe a HTC developed one) to speed up the code (and the writing).
I have also seen references to HTC using custom touchscreen technology to enhance finger operation. Is this documented somewhere?

Searching for Barcode Reader SDK

Hey i am working on a project in my university about connecting online shopping features to the real life store experience.
I´d like to get access to the camera of my mobile phone (Touch HD) and scan for a given code. at first it doesn´t matter on which way. Java or .net Application.
Afaik all the available readers can´t be refactored to send the scaned code to a special website for example.
Type of Code (1D/2D QR or something else) doesn´t matter in first step
Maybe anybody of you can help me
thank you very much

[REQ] An app that can CREATE qr codes

Hi all!
So I was wondering... We have great apps that can read QR codes, like Quickmark or i-nigma. But I'm pretty sure that there aren't any apps that can actually CREATE a QR Code from for example a text pasted in a simple textbox. I think this would be quite handy. For example for quick url link transfers from one phone to another for free. One phone wolud generate a QR code and show it on the screen, and the other would read it through its camera And maybe it wouldnt be so hard to do, because Ive seen somewhere a library for QR code generation for desktop .NET This would be great for phones with big screens, like the HD, HD2 or TP2
For reference, the library can be found here :

AdMob / Source Code questions

Hey guys,
I have two questions, would really appreciate any answer:
1) Can I use same AdMob account for 2 different Google Developer accounts? Is someone doing this?
2) If I've purchased the Single Licence source code at some site like chupamobile/codecanyon, what restrictions does it have? It means I am not able to publish more than one game on this code? Is it trackable?
3) What are the requirements for the reskinned source code not to be banned by Google? Mean like if I just change the Logo+Title+Description+Screenshots but the whole game is not touched, could that be a reason for ban?
What are your usual reskin changes to publish the app?
Huge thanks to everyone who'd bother answering these :highfive:
