How to remove quicklaunch Icons? - Epic 4G General

I dont use the stock messaging program. I dont need a contact icon either. Applications I need, of course, lol... Anyway to switch these around?

Not in this version of touchwiz, so no untill custom roms come out. Otherwise, I think there are some manual ways to do it editing a few files in the system.

awesome, cant wait lol

Haha. Ill look into this, and see if I can't just implement this into my custom rom I'm creating...

Replace the stock launcher?
I use launcherpro. Install HomeSwitcher to make swapping back and forth easy as a click.

hey is there anyway you can do like the iphone. 5 row custom quicklunch and 5 row uhh on the base screen? yes i phone rip but it would be so sweet instead of constantly switching screens. i like everything i need on the main screen. thanks

Long press on an empty area of the screen and choose widgets.

I can't even get the android ones to show up. Am I missing something?
Edit: never mind I do get the android ones.
They are part of touchwiz which you turned off. If someone was/is able to extract them from touchwiz that would be cool. But its all part of touchwiz launcher. Like htc sense. If anyone has pulled some of those I would like to have a few.

X2. I have an Evo and upon installing Launcher Pro I no longer have the ability to use Sense widgets in LP, but going back to Sense I can use them again.

(Hint) Touchwhiz Launcher

I don't know if anyone has posted this but I found a little trick that made me say "well duh that makes sense."
So I actually like the touchehiz launcher but was having a tough time keeping my apps straight with the new 2.3.3 version as it only allows an editable grid or alphabetical list. I tried adding an old modded version but got a force close. When I restored all my apps were alphabetical in a grid view again. I went about moving the apps around and then went to settings/application/all and cleared the data of TWLauncher and my apps are again alphabetical.
The downfall of doing this is you lose your Widgets but after awhile its the easiest way to clean up the app drawer.

Dude I know a lot of new people here will be delighted to know that but that has been known since anyone posted about wanting to rearrange apps in apps drawer. Nice though that you have the courage to post it again.
Well I may have just forgotten since I've become so accustomed to the modded tw launcher and know that we don't yet have a modded version for GB. I'm sure there is more than one or two frustrated trying to keep all their apps in order right now.

Go dig yourself a hole under that ungrateful bridge of yours.
Well know one, but the best method is download an app in market which can sort the Twlauncher in alphabetical order without cleaning the widget together.
It is call TouchWiz Application Sorter
+1 for the Application Sorter

App drawer icons not auto rearranging

Hey Guys
I'm on stock ROM ZSKK1 2.3.5 with KJ3 and KJ6. I've rooted using CF. Whenever I delete an app, the page where the icon was will have a missing icon bottom right. Why doesn't the first icon from the next page fill the space?
Also when I install new apps, it doesn't get rearranged alphebatically... just in the order of when it was added. This is bad because when I clear data on twlauncher to fix the issue, the homescreen gets reset too.
On the same note (pardon the pun ), would a different ROM running 2.3.6 fix this issue? Which should I be looking at that is closest to stock as mine?
Thanks!
I'm assuming you're using TWlauncher? If so, you can try Appzorter from the market.
Can't understand why this feature is not built into the launcher!
wow, that looks like it will work... damn stupid that it isn't built into touchwiz. gonna try it now, THANKS!
Holgalee - That's a bloody brilliant app. Thanks very much for sharing and bringing it to our attention. Well happy with my icons now.

LOL. You're most welcome. Found out about it from XDA anyway!
Something OCD-ish about me but icons not in alphabetical order makes me a bit agitated.

How change the grid size and number of home screens?

Don't tell me to use a different launcher because I want to remain stock... But I just can't figure this out. I have looked through settings and everything but can't find any launcher settings. Thanks. I know its a stupid question but im confused!

You can not complete such a task on stock. You MUST use a different launcher like Nova or Apex just as a couple of examples. Google doesn't allow you to modify grids in the settings. I know this isn't what you wanted to hear. Sorry.

I use Nova Launcher. It is based on the stock launcher & has that same look & feel. It gives you options like changing the number of rows & columns, hide apps from the drawer, and remove the persistent search bar.
I also use Nova. It's built from the stock launcher, plus it has LOTS of extra customization features. Seriously, just get it.
Honestly the only reason I was trying to avoid it was because I didn't feel like setting it up. But its done now and works well! Thanks

if you mean is making folders inside app drawer then you can yous adw or go launcher for that
Nova Launcher Prime also lets you create folders, and in my opinion is faster than ADW and light years faster than Go Launcher.
These apps are all good and we'll but I don't like the ICS look and I would like something permanent and not an app like a root mod or something..

That doesn't make sense, just get a new launcher. It is permanent.
