Hi guys,
I was playing around with a few builds, Sense and no-Sense roms, and all have the same problem: it's apparently not possible to import existing playlists. I tried to import the playlists folder, the .apx files, the Double twist (for android) files, folder, nothing. Does anyone know of a solution to do the trick? Re-creating 18 playlist with over 5GB of music is just to much for me!
Anybody???
If you're using iTunes, maybe you could import the playlist with some software on the Market. Try searching "itunes" on the market and import PL to itunes and than sync it with phone. Hope that could help.
If you're trying to sync iTunes playlists, I recommend iSyncr. It's a dollar or two, but currently the best solution available, it just works! I tried doubleTwist too, it's free and delivers somehow, but the computer part of this software is so unbelievably slow and ineffecient.

Is it possible to import a playlist created on your PC i.e. .m3u into the HD2 and make it appear in the sense music player?
Can you sync music/playlist on your PC with the HD2?
Yes, use Windows Media Player and right click on the playlist and press "Add to sync list" and it will appear in the sense player when done.
Thanks...I'll give that a try
Just tried this but only music being transferred and found by sense music player...NOT playlists...Are you sure this works??
I'm wondering this, too...how can I get my fifty gazillion song playlist onto my phone without sitting down for hours and manually re-creating it? This is very frustrating. Can't we stick a text file or xml or something into the phone system to get sense to recognize it?

Not exactly what you are looking for, but give it a try.

Doesn't work. I've got a Windows Media Player playlist on my pc that I want to copy to my phone and have Sense or at least WMP recognize it...anyone know how to do that, specifically?

Did anyone come up with a solution to this?
I have tried all sorts to get a playlist from my PC into my HD2 and to show up in the sence player to no avail
I've been playing with different ways to get my music on and seem to have a working solution using MusicBee which gets all my music including tags and album art into sense perfectly. It copies playlist over but I can't get sense to recognise them. Getting fed up with recreating playlists every time I change my music over on my phone
If anyone knows a way to get playlists into the sence player it would be most appreciated.
i had ipod touch and now i want to sync all my music(and playlists) on my xperia x10. i found some programs like tynesync lite and another one like an itun for androind on my windows. the one is creating the playlist as i wont put it import only 20 tracks in each playlists. the other program is trasfering only the tracks and is not grating the playlists. is there any other applications which creates playlists and import in them more than 20 songs?
Mod. edit: not (yet) t&a related, moved to general
Just use pc campanion(its preinstalled to your sd card).
Hiya,
I use an app called Isyncr...
It copies an itunes playlist of your choice over to your sd card (and therefore mediascape)!!

Try DoubleTwist, it's actually made for syncing itunes and android.
It also has other sync functions likeictures, video, music, subscriptions and also has android marketplace.
(im apparently not allowed to post links :S, anyway just google and you will find it)

i used it but is transfering only the songs that are in playlist without the playlists
Engadget put up an article about an Android app which claims to sync with iTunes on Windows and OSX. It's free for a limited time while it's in beta it seems. It looks like a capable client. It's called DoubleTwist.

Edit: Missed IceBre4ker post. Oh boy.
interesting post.
After viewing the google I/O keynote and all the hoo haa about froyo, there is an over the air sync on froyo where you can actually play your media files on your home computer via your 3G or wifi. Is there an app for that right now?
Doubletwist and the like seem to only work when the USB is connected. The over the air streaming app would provide the ultimate music experience as my music collection is over 80 GB.
Froyo will take forever to be released for our device. A cooked rom might suffice, but until that time, an app would really help us out here.
Hi,
i got my sgs yesterday and i am wondering why the stock mp3-player does not recognize playlists which i sync with kies. the mp3 files will be synced, also the *.pla playlist file, but the player doesn't show it. my whole music library is based on playlists and i don't want change this. I also tried doubletwist which can read *.m3u files but, because of the lagging problem i have, it's impossible to use this. I also do not want to flash my phone after 2 days of usage.
Is there any way to create playlists on pc which i can use with the default mp3-player? I also tried creating playlists directly in the player but for me its too circumstantial doing this for 20 compilations.
I am pleased for any advice.

same problem for me cant seem to transfer awhole playlists in PC to SGS with kies, really like Samsung Music Player but because of this thing i have to use Doubletwist
If you use mixZing, it'll be able to read your .m3u playlist files, and if i may add, it got one of the most advanced equalisers on the market.
Can anyone help me here please?
I have searched all ,over and found many threads on this but non seem to answer my problem.
I may be fairly unique but I quite like the Sense music player. I have been working with it for a while now and almost have it doing my bidding.
I can get sections of my library onto my phone and playing in the sense player well now including album art and everything looks good.
The only thing I can't seem to do is import playlists from my PC into the sense player.
It's pretty frustrating having to re do my playlists from scratch in the sense player every time I shuffle my music.
I can't seem to find out where or what the sense player is looking for in a playlist. I have tried various formats and put them in different folders but can't get the sence player to see them.
I'm using MusicBee to sync my music as it's the only one I have found that syncs everything perfectly, including album art. I'm sure it will sync my playlists as well if only I can find out what format to use and where to put them.
Any ideas anyone??
OK I've given up. I'm now using Kinoma Play http://kinoma.com/play/ instead of the sense player. Works like a dream so far. All my music syncs and with a little tweaking in MusicBee my playlists go into Kinoma fine.
Still prefer the Sense player to be honest but it just won't do what I want.
There is a free version of Kinima but it's pretty limited, I had to upgrade to paid version to get access to playlists.
If you download the free version and run it you get a link to buy the paid one at a discount.
Why is the sense player so finiky :-(
Hey guys
I tried a couple of app's and options to sync the music I have ('normal' mp3's and 'normal' m3u's) with my phone - I was max half successful until now.
May I ask you how you do that? And please don't tell me spotify, google music or something like that
Thanks a lot
Oli
I use MediaMonkey. Syncs iOS as well.
If you're coming from iOS, or just using iTunes to manage your tunes, look into iSyncr - I used it for quite a while on Windows before I abandoned and moved to Linux.
I kept a couple playlists built in iTunes and had them set to sync to my phone, made things easy to deal with.
I haven't finished figuring out as good a situation on Linux yet. Too lazy. ;^)
Thanks guys, Mediamonkey Sync worked now, at least a bit - but there are still all the 'old' Playlists I had on the phone for some tests, and MediaMonkey does not delete them even if they are not around anymore. Do you have a idea or can I delete the library somehow?
