usb external mouse - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi I have a xenarc car-audio device (touch screen monitor, rca/dvi/vga inputs, line in from pc, USB out to connect to pc 4 touch input).
Instead of buying a small pc and place it somewhere in the trunk with loads of cables, I could use the audio/video out from the SGS and stick with it.
The problem is... I'd like to use the touch screen on the xenarc! So, is there a way to put the phone in host mode and connect the touch screen? Or simply connect an external mouse? What would I need, I mean, would I need to code the driver myself or the feature is already present in the os?
Thanks

[Q] Xoom OTG with external Multitouch display

Hi all,
I got myself a Xoom Speaker Dock and made a couple of mods to it.
Now it has a USB OTG port at the back (at the cost of the speakers... sigh)
What I am now trying to do is use an eternal display (HDMI) that has a USB touch interface. The HDMI works however is pretty loose so disconnects very easily. The mouse (read: Multi touch monitor) doesn't work. If I attach keyboard or standard mice to the OTG port, it works without issue. My guess is I need to install some "drivers" on the Xoom to get the multitouch external monitor to act as an HID?
Any ideas where to start?
I know when you talk about windows, it would need specific multitouch drivers to enable an HID device for multitouch. Im sure you would need the same in Android.

how to use phone as mini pc

hi all what do i need to buy to use my note as a mini android pc, by this i mean connect it to my 46" 1080p tv and use my phone via a mouse and keyboard wireless, is it possible ?
if it is could someone please post me info to the items if need ie

thankyou
Bluetooth mouse, keyboard and MHL HDMI adapter for the video.
will these work
Mini Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard with Mouse Control

MHL to HDMI (Micro USB)TV Adpator for HTC Sensation/EVO & Samsung Galaxy S2/TAB
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MHL-HDMI-..._MobilePhoneDataCables_JN&hash=item2316d2e42a
Both item will work on the Galaxy Note.
Only that you will need the HDMI connection wire for the TV and also the main charger for the phone. You can use the main charger that comes with the phone but need to purchase a HDMI wire.
The BlueTooth keyboard should work.
Another gadget that is really useful is the USB OTG wire. With this, one can use the phone as the "Host" and connect another device such as keyboard, mouse and external Thumb Drive or SD card to the phone. One can use the mouse, keyboard and also the external drive. You can transfer files from the external drive to the phone and vice versa without the need of a PC. Only problem is you will be using the phone's power as the port is not available for charging. Great for small job and file transfer when PC is not available.

[Q] Question about SlimPort

So the Nexus 4 doesn't have USB OTG support. That sucks. I'm fairly certain the answer on the following question will be "no", but I've still got hope.
With SlimPort, you can connect your Nexus 4 to a HDMI monitor, similar to MHL. It also charges your device. In my amazing Dell ST2220T touch monitor (well, the touch isn't so amazing, but the screen quality is), there are four USB ports. When I connect my Nexus 4 to my monitor with SlimPort, would I be able to plug in a keyboard and mouse in the USB ports on my monitor?
If not, I could use bluetooth (if you can connect multiple devices at least, both mouse and keyboard) or use the touch functionality on my monitor, but I'm not sure that works because it's a seperate cable.
It would be really cool to use the N4 as a sort of mini computer. Like Ubuntu had in mind. I can connect it to my speakers, to my monitor, I'm only hoping that I won't have to buy bluetooth accessoires. I prefer to use my wired accessoires, or if that isn't possible the touch functionality of my monitor, but I'm fairly both won't be possible.
the usb on your monitor would have a upstream connector that goes into your pc, so it won't work with phone,
you have to use bluetooth keyboard and mouse

So even if the N4 had USB Host support, I still wouldn't be able to use a wired keyboard and mouse together with the SlimPort, right? I doubt there's some adapter that can do both.
The slimport controller acts as a switch, it either routes usb or displayport signals though the data pins, the usb lanes are not connected while it's in use.
While displayport does contain aux pins for handling additional stuff such as usb (hypothetically?), those pins do not exist in our setup.

Dual OTG cable for PC and keyboard: will this work?

Hi guys,
due to a the touchscreen no loger working I need to connect my Moto X Style simultaneusy to:
My Windows PC (ADB)
External keyboard (OTG)
So I basically need two USB input (one for PC, one for the keyboard) and one microUSB out to the phone.
I found this:
Before I pull the trigger, I'd like to know: will it work? I'm hesitant because I already tried with a "self-powered desktop USB hub" connected to a simple OTG cable and it didn't work (the keyboard work, but the PC doesn't see the phone).
Thanks!
Well, I connected a wireless keyboard with touchpad with the OTG cable and it worked both things, I don't know if your mouse and keyboard are wired and if they draw too much power to the phone, I connected once a portable HDD via otg and it worked, but for a minute or two, it drawed too much power...
I don't think you can have two usb host devices connected to each other (the phone and the pc). if it was a keyboard and mouse that would work.

Data Recovery From Ph-1 with non-fruntioning screen

My PH-1's screen died randomly and I'm trying to get my data off of it. Yes I know, shame on me for not regularly backing things up. I reached out to Essential and they suggested I purchase a HDMI to usb-c cable. When plugging in the cable on my replacement device everything looks great, but unfortunately the screen is oddly cropped when plugging in my old broken phone.
So, I'm looking for some help on how I might be able to get all my data off with my laptop. My current challenges are that the phone is locked and since I restarted the phone, my fingerprint isnt sufficient. I don't have debugging enabled nor do I have bootloader. I did enable developer options at some point before the screen went black though.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Without USB debugging (ADB) and a locked BL, your options don't really exist.
If the digitizer still works you might be able to plug the phone into a screen and unlock it and see enough to enable USB debugging.

Is it possible to plug into a computer or only a tv? I plugged it into three different TV's, but every time the projected image of my phone was cropped and incomplete. I'm not able to see the entire numeric keyboard, but think I might be able to estimate if I could use a mouse.
I purchased two mice. One regular old USB mouse and a Bluetooth dongled mini remote keyboard with touchpad (h9). The USB mouse isn't recognized at all by the tv. The mini keyboard is recognized by the tv and I'm able to use it in Netflix ECT but when I'm connected to the phone in HDMI mode it displays a little message saying "not supported" when I try to use it. The tv is a Samsung smart TV that's about a year and a half.
Am I missing anything? Some other way of controlling the phone while plugged into the tv or a way connecting it to my PC and controlling it with my PC?

When I plug my phone into a monitor the monitor will rotate and the phone scales the display.
I'm using a cheap TopGeek adapter I got from Amazon.
Once you get the display stuff figured out. You should be able to unlock on the phone.
Then you can go in and enable developer debugging for ADB.
Or you can then pair a mouse and keyboard via Bluetooth.

For some reason my tv isn't scaling the display of my old phone but does with my replacement. Are you using a computer monitor? And are you able to plug a mouse into the monitor to control the phone?

Not sure wh one would scale and the other would not.
I'm using a computer monitor.
My monitor does not support USB order HDMI. It's not a native USB-C monitor,
