Hi all,
I've tryed the great 1-click root way on my wildfire and it seems to work fine but after I've installed the apps needed the led is always red while I put my Wildfire on charging... any idea?
Is there any other cons on 1-click root?

Hey All,
On 2.2 now and they changed the USB mass storage interface a little.
When I plug the phone in, it connects fine. I can put files on the SD card etc.
If I click the "Turn off" button to turn off USB storage on the phone, it crashes the phone (just freezes up and sits there, the progress indicator won't even spin).
I have tried unmounting the phone in windows too first of course and it won't help. Just unplugging the cable seems to work but then it thinks its still connected.
Anyone have any ideas? This definitely was fine pre-2.2
I get the same. First time I've had to do a pull the battery restart on the N1 :/
Yes pulling the battery is the only way to restore the phone i've tried it a dozen times and it seems to be a serious problem.
I think this started after applying the CM root mods... I am using the kernel .34 version and I am having the same issue. I was running without this mod for a while and didn't have this issue, so either it's related to the root mod or it's some weird issue that doesn't show itself until something else happens.

I also have the .34 kernel from CM for root.
It's definitely the CM root mod.
Yeah its been confirmed on that thread. Known issue I guess.
This thread needs a bump!
this is a well known issue with .34 kernals
just apply CM's root mod stock kernal, and it will work fine
all .34 kernals have this problem and im sure lots of people are looking into it.
Yes there is a workaround if its really bugging you, revert to an earlier 33 or stock kernel (I did).
Can someone point me in the direction to get my tab unrooted.
Ive tried to unroot but it says wait 5 secs then tells me its not unrooted
I also turned it off and tried it again same thing.
I did have my tab rooted on a diff rom now im back on stock with it still rooted idk if that could mean somethiing well just let me know
Please and Thanks
If you have a smarta$$ remark save it for someone else....
Have you confirmed it is actually still rooted? Using root checker in the market or otherwise?

Yes it is, I still have su in my files and in my apps list, i also used root checker.
Why do you post this in 2 subforums?
Did you managed to get it unrooted?
if you can't get it unrooted through apps, one sure way is to flash a non-rooted stock rom... of course the big question is... why are you trying to unroot?
Hi AZDR1V3R,
I had the same problem, which is now solved.
Try the following sequence (worked for me; I have an Iconia with HC3.1 Stock ROM A500_4.017.07_EMEA_CUS7):
0) Switch off your device completely and switch it on again (fresh restart)
1) Rotate your tab in the protrait display orientation
2) Switch on the fix switch for the orientation
3) Root your device using Iconia Root (wait until the 5s delay has been finished and the success message has been displayed)
4) Unroot your device using Iconia Root; now the message of a successful unroot appears after the 5s delay.
The essential difference to my previous unsuccessful attemps to unroot is the usage of the orientation lock switch.
Regards
Luis

Unfortunately these steps don't work for me. Anyone else with a sublime solution?
You have to activate Application --> Decomment --> USB debugging
If all else fails, when you get your next Honeycomb update it will do away with root for you, with no way to get it back, at least for now. Patience.
Hi everybody, first of all sorry for my english.
I bought an A500 on ebay a couple of weeks ago, OS was 3.2 factory, I was thinking about trying to gain root permissions and maybe install a custom rom but tablet seems to work ok and I decided to wait for official ICS release, which arrived yesterday.
After the upgrade I noticed, as others did, strange behavior of wifi connection (strong to leak) and I cannot add any widget on home screen (keeping tapped shows only choices for changing theme).
At this point I guess it would be wise to try and install a custom rom, but I’m not confident and I really need help from the start.
I understood I need root permissions, but to gain them I have to downgrade.
Can anybody please tell me what to do, using dumb-proof terms ?
Many many thanks in advance.
update: i tried to downgrade to android 3, i think i bricked it ...
after the update i get a red error "Boot verified failed" .....
Probably wont help much now that you've bricked it, but to add a widget you need to be in the app menu and switch to the widget tab. And you should try looking at the wifi settings for default action when sleeping. For some reason, mine changed to always disconnect from wifi after turning off.
many thanks for your answer
Hi guys.
I came here to solve a problem with my device. I have a Defy Plus (Mb526) and accidentally i have installed the wrong ROM (BL7, 2.3.6, I think) and it causes many problems.
Problem 1: My Defy don't have the same performance and fluidity as before.
Problem 2: The battery icon was replaced to a question mark.
Problem 3: The device don't charge with charger, but the PC recognize it.
The only way to charge it's a Universal Charger.
I have tried to install so many ROM's (stock and custom) and fixes, but the only stock ROM what works it's chinese and taiwan. Others don't start.
I tried too install a backup of CyanogenMod but isn't sucessful and the problems just keeping.
So, please, anyone can help me?

Might be simple, but have you actually tried resetting the phone completely and re-rooting it?
Also, overheating can cause battery drain. The throttling of the CPU does require some power, so if you're phone is always running hot, yes, you will notice this.
