so im using cm6 stable with full root and nand unlock. iv only really updated my radio but iv noticed iv been having pretty bad signal and slow internet speeds since i started messing with my phone with new roms and such. these threads sometimes become to populated with new info that once you read them over its to complicated to understand.. so can anyone help me here. anything i should be flashing to keep my phone up to date? im pretty familiar with alote of stuff but things like the lessons in kernals and pri i really havent gotten. any help will be incredibly appreciated! i just want my phone preforming at its best.
Make sure your radios are up to date, and that you have PRI 1.40 (odds are you don't). Search in the forum to find them.
and what is the pri for?

Hello...
I'm sure this is asked often and I have done searches but most threads I find are older and I'm always scared that they may be outdated and could possibly harm my phone.
I recently bought my g1 a few weeks ago and it's build number is "CRC1" and firmware version 1.5.
What I would like is root access with wifi tethering ability. Multi touch would be nice to if it's stable. Are there any tutorials that are known to be good that I should trust and follow. Also alot of the tutorials I have seen have several different if/or downloads depending on what build you want to use. Which of these is the most popular? Thanks again for your time.

The best thing I can tell you is play around with each rom so you can find one you like, everybody has there own opinion. Just make sure you read before doing anything.
hi,
i have a 32B my touch 3g.
im planning on rooting it using this guide.
http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=Magic_Rooting
have a couple of questions, do i have to delete everything off my SD card?
can this mess up my phone permanently if done wrong?
now questions about roms.
i know theirs several different ones.
i dont really care about the looks, i just want the ROM that makes your mytouch a lot quicker, ive heard its possible to make it faster.
just wondering which ROM that would be and how would i go about installing it?
i just want a clean, quick, stable rom. its not that bad right now, but a little quicker wouldnt hurt.
i also heard some roms have internet issues / bluetooth and that stuff

Looks like you and me are in the same boat. I've already rooted my MT3G and have loaded Qtecks Hero rom on it. It's nice don't get me wrong, and I feel like one of the lucky ones being that I don't have any strange issues with my phone. The only thing that drives me nuts is every task takes about a 2 second load time.
Also, I find it rather poor to release a rom and call it working and stable when people are still getting blurry screens, dropped sms, no mms, Lost GPS and so forth. To me, that doesnt sound ready.
Im really thinking about load the original cupcake and saying good riddens until something thats actually stable come out!
i don't think any of the hero developers have called their roms stable. the only stable rom right now is cyan's rom.
another method of rooting your device is the one click method. it's straight forward and easy to follow. check out theunlockr.com for more info.

so as of right now there are no stable roms for the mytouch?
Hey guys,
I can't find a way to update my radio or wimax. I have no idea where to find the files or anything. I'm running Baked Snack 9.6 and the battery life is being sucked away like a milkshake (like, say...17 minutes unplugged, down to 87% battery life).
Is this due to an outdated radio? Or "Wimax"? (whatever that is)
How does one find the newest radio for their device/ROM? I have searched on here and Google and have come up with nothing.
Thanks.
Noob question, but when people post in their signatures they are on this radio version or that radio version.. what exactly does that mean? What is changing in these radio versions? What makes the other radios better? Is my radio version (using stock, unrooted other than unrevoked3) not as good?
Read the stickies at the top of the development section.
Radio updates/flashes can improve a lot of things. Think of it like updating device drivers in windows. Some of the advantages of updating are:
Improved performance
Fixing bugs
Adding new features
Better power management
Improve efficiency
Streamline code
Yeah it may seem like a stupid or trivial question from someone that is new or still learning, so what. If this irritates a person, then go to the next thing. If someone wants to try and be patient and help them, then that is fine.

u need to head on over to the android development section, i knew about none of this stuff coming from windows mobile, but i understand it all now, took a few days of reading thru posts and using google, but one u get a hold on it its almost a piece of cake, im just trying to save you some headache because people can be pretty harsh around here if you dont try to learn it first and just ask questions that have been answered over and over

Nobody really knows. It's a mystery.
The mystery is the PRI cant fix yet to 140.003 after unroot. damm, hope someone find a soon solution, unless wait until a new OTA update and change everything.
I'd like to start a thread based purely for New Zealand DZ owners, if they let me, for any questions or guides specific for NZ as we are on the arse end of the world.
I have the HK version rooted, s-off, and running virtuous. Played with CM7 and Miui but really like the sense UI. The guides here for doing all this are very good.
One question i'd like to know is which radio you find the best and whether this will apply for all NZ users. I did read there were some aussies over the ditch having to have a play around with their ones.
I have been on 12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M for a week and it seems stable for me and more efficient. I didn't record the previous version for comparison but it was whatever it came with when I bought it in HK.
I am going to try out 12.50.60.24_26.08.04.16 next for a week then the .30 for a week to really get a feel for them. Would like to know if anyone else has experimented with them.
Also, for reference, my protocol has a P added to it: 12.28b.60.140eP_26.03.02.26_M
I've been using the .30 radio for ages now, I find its stable enough to use.
Havn't really used any other radios for a decent amount of time though, so I can't comment on whether its better or worse.

What version are you on and where in the process are you getting stuck?
E: I see you're trying to resolve that in another thread although in saying that, that person is trying to unroot, whilst you're trying to root I guess? Did you follow the guide in the stickied thread? I followed that precisely, the ADB way, and had no issues. I had to go the goldcard way too.
Yeah, I still need to try the goldcard method but I need to get hold of another sd card first..
I got stuck at the bootloader, it won't pick up the PC10IMG.zip and I did make sure it was named correctly.
You'll know when you need the goldcard as it'll come up saying incorrect CID when it validates the image...but i'm guessing you don't get up to the validation part. I'd suggest you post your problem in the right thread to get that sorted.
Well I ran the .16 for the weekend and didn't notice anything different other than map location being more accurate both with and without GPS on. Now on .30 and nothing noticeably different. Wifi, reception, gps, and calls are solid.
Battery seems to be really lasting well now with the .30 but that may be contributed to going from virtuous 1.24 to 1.25, at any rate, very happy.
Hello guys and gals,
I've been reading this forum for a few years now and really appreciate the community. I've learned so much from everyone I wish I could repay you all somehow. Thanks in advance for the assistance, I'm a little rusty so please bare with me.
I've got my HTC Leo working with CyanogenMod-6.1.0-Nightly-HD2(AndroidMediaUltimate) on top of CoreCell (unsure of the version at the moment, will edit soon)
The phone has been running a little wonky lately and freezing like crazy when the accellorometer changes states or when I'm using the camera. I also have some odd issues with WiFi dropping out and then giving an error... it's just time to reflash I think.
My question is, where do I start? LOL It's all changed since I initially flashed and I don't know if either SD or NAND has benefit over the other. I also want to stick to the Cyanogen build as it's been my favorite, but are there any others that are seriously worth testing? I don't have a lot of time on my hands as I'm busy with work and kids around, etc.
Are there any helpful souls out there who are willing to point me in the right direction? I don't need my hand held, I just need to get on the path and I can figure out the rest. Thank you again for reading and hopefully the assist!
you should try NativeSD where you install your ROM's ( you can have as many as you like depending on the size of the EXT4) in SD which is almost as fast as NAND & you'll have lot's of space for apps to install.
which loader are you using? MAGLDR or CLK?
try this link so that you'll have an idea
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31414628#post31414628
BTW No need to flash radio & use task29 & if ever you will flash radio be careful w/ Tmo's as some radio version can brick it.
Thank you Mengfei! I'm using the Haret loader, afaik? I haven't loaded into CoreCell in so long I just don't remember off the top of my head.
Also, I've switched to AT&T GoPhone service. I moved to the UK a couple years ago and had my phone unlocked when they were still handing out the codes. I'm hoping that I can spoof the APN and get my data service as it's inoperable at the moment. The radio I'm on is really solid, I switched it when I was in the UK for the o2 network. It seems to work on the cingular/AT&T network well, so I'll probably leave it for the time being.
Is there a specific build, rom/loader/etc, that you prefer for the Leo? -edit- After reading some of your posts, I've also gained some curiosity if WP7 has any benefit opposed to WinMo6.5? I don't use the windows side at all of the phone, so unless it's quicker to boot or more stable, is there any real need?

If you don't use Windows at all then there's really no point to using SD, just flash NAND. Some people say that NativeSD is faster than NAND but that really depends on your SD card whilst NAND will always be fairly fast. Follow the guide in my sig and you should be fine.
