helo gus, this is my 1st topic over this forum for that I wanna update me ppc qtek2020 to wm5.
- Can I do that or not? if I can do that plz give me setup for wm5 for qtek2020.
note\ I have:
ROM version: 1.72.00WWE
ROM date: 3/15/04
Radio version: 1.14.00
Protocol version: 1337.24
ExtROM version: 1.72.810

Well this server was off for a short time. Now is it working again.
But in WM5.0 is the memory organisation different than 2003(SE).
Therefore you need to answer the question 'how many MB's of my RAM will I use as a storage space and how many MB's will I need to run my apps'(RAMdisk).
The other thing is the DOC(Disk-on-chip).

You'll also need to upgrade to Activesync 4.1 as earlier versions won't handle WM5. AS is tempramental so be prepared for a bit of trial and error to get your As link working again. some users have zero probs. Others major headaches so chose some spare time that includes a good slice of troubleshooting time and back up your data esp if it is critical to your work/ business.

Roms

I see so many ROMS out there, by ROMS you guys mean something like WM5 or WM6 rite? Is it safe to use all this? Im currently on WM6, and i want a more funky lookin phone instead of all those boring looks integrated with WM6. Point me to the direction people

It might be a good start for you to TUNE your device rather than flashing at first! There is a lot of stuff out there to make it look neat. One app I really like to run on mine is SPB Mobile Shell.
Flashing a new ROM won't really give you what you're looking for! Think about ROMs like the OPERATING SYSTEM and drivers for your PC. If you get a modded ROM with cool buttons and look integrated you will be stuck with that until you reflash your device. Reflashing your device will cause you losing everything what is on there and you would have to reinstall everything afterwards ... that is a lot of work, trust me on that!
So, better way is to use application to style your phone and get it looking the way you want it!

I cann't get the keyboard to not show up when i'm texting, i wen't to settings and check marked "do not use keyboard on landscape"..

Which ROM are you using? I believe this is one of the "bugs" in certain custom ROMs.

I have never flashed my phone, I don't wan't to take the risk of ****in my phone up, stock 6800 ROM

I haven't worked on theses phones for like a month and i'm not realy into it, sorry, ROM: 2.09.651.3, I have never heard the term SIP i'm still new to the "PPC community" but I know how to install, reg. edit, stuff like that" when i'm on my computer I use, "My Mobiler" and when I click on the space to type it brings up the keyboard so I cannot see past the 1st line of what i'm typing,

Retrace your steps.
What apps did you install that caused this issue to arise?
Maybe it is pocketCM? or some settings that have to do with it.
Try recalibrating your screen, maybe it is out of place abit. But now that you are in the ppc community you should learn to take caution of your device and learn to troubleshoot as you go.

Anyways first of all that bug is rom specific that is tell the rom which you are using... and if the bug is there in that rom then you have to switch it...

On the serious note, my setup is on my signature. Try to compare different radios, wm roms and different android builds as they all work differently for everyone else.

My setup atm:
Android FroyoStone_Sense_V3.2
Bootloader: HSPL 2.08
Radio: 2_12_50_02_2
ROM:CleanEX OzROM V5.10 WM6.5 21916
Installed this setup today, I gonna try it for few days now then i will report back here

Works perfectly, no SOD no TS Freeze , and NO HTC SENSE !

WM: OzDroid 2.00, Radio 2.14.50.xx
Android: Mdeejay's Clean Sense 2.3, Hastarin 8.5, LeTama's wrapper 0.7
Feels like native android. Really smooth and everything works. (Only using sense because of the better dialer and non-snse builds giving trouble with my Parrot CK3100 car kit_
Battery usage is real good, take it off the charger at 7am and have about 25-30% remaining around 11pm, with 3G sync on 2 Google Accounts, Facebook, Twitter, Weather, etc. Some web browsing, incidental GPS navigation and about 30mins calling time a day.
