[APP Update 12.12.08] Commandline WeatherDatabase Editor (add new locations to TF3D)

I read on the below mentioned page that adding new cities to TF3D was really easy, and they were right,
the only problem is that i don't want to install something that I'm only going to use once

So I created my own version, which does the same as the WeatherDatabaseEditor from andreas.falke
with the exception that it requires minimal user intervention so it can be used in SDConfig.txt or similar solutions.
Also if your country is not listed it will make a new entry in the country list.
It has been tested on my MDA Compact4 (Diamond + Dutty's V1.7 Rom)
And it works like a charm, let me know what you think
I'm not sure if it will work on any other device, but because the Diamond is the first of many TF3D devices
the generic "Development & Hacking" forum seemed to be a better choice,
MODs please move this topic if you think it should be in the Diamond App's section.
Currently you'll get a popup when the app is completed, I might change this in future version(s)
Don't forget to edit locations.txt prior to running the app!
Requirements:
- CF.Net, I tested this with 3.5 not sure if it works with 2.0
How To:
1. Save/Unzip (I advise in the internal Storage) just put the files in a folder.
2. Edit locations.txt, there are already a couple locations in there, Region is optional and first line can be ignored.
3. run CmdWC3.exe
4. To be save do a softreset
To Do :
1. Remove the currently selected Cities (or atleast an option to remove them)
2. Make popup optional
3. new version which has an interface, silent operation would be done by arguments "\Storage card\CmdWC3.exe Silent"

Dutty's Full 1.7 & 1.8 - Works
SwiftBL v6.0 - Works
SCv2.8 NL_Black - Fails
TLR 3.08.07.16 - Fails *
Bepe 0.97 - Fails *
DIB Diamond v1.22 neon - works (thanks Teto )
udK Syrius HD - Failed (Fixed in V5)
* issue is twofold, it looks like they use a different layout of the manila file... working on it

I recently changed to the udK Syrius HD Rom, but CmdWC3 didn't work, so
made a new version.
My advise, First run Version 3, if this doesn't work run version 5
Restart* and you should be able to select the proper city.
At least that was what I did with the Syrius Rom.
*I just tried with restarting TF3D only and that also seems to do the trick.
Please let me know if it worked (or not) and which Rom you are using.

Just noticed that the locations.txt included in the first attachment is missing a > next to city....

I added it to my list and it did work, do you have a German version rom?
if so what is the foldername of the Windows folder?
I think the App cannot find the manila files...

hi, yes i have a german version, the bepe 0.97 ROM.
The Windows Folder is called "Windows", also standard.
but your cab .exe file is in the internal 4GB Storage, called "Interner Speicher" in german.

The internal Storage naming sholdn't be an issue, I think it has to do with Bepe's rom, the orriginal idea (and application) has the same issue

2. install WeatherDatabaseEditor from andreas.falke, the latest version is 1.1.
If it doesn't work (for TLR or bElite ROM for example), you can try this "patched" WDE (from PPC-Welt, it seems).

which one are you using premium, basic or lite?
I know TLR has tweaked TF3D to be uninstallable (whatever that may mean)
so there are some diffrences..
Could you check if you have the 2330fc3c_manila and _2330fc3c_manila (in \Windows folder)?
could be that they are hidden...
Just so i have it right, the entry does not show up in TF3D...right?
Also could you post the 2330fc3c_manila file?

Small update, I've checked bepe 0.97
it seems that he's using a slightly different version of 2330fc3c_manila
which doesn't have the Countries listed, also
the application cannot change the properties of the file to be able to write to it...
Checking if the Countries are mentioned is not the problem, fixed that already
it is setting the file overwritable thats the issue..
I'm sorry but i don't see a solution besides manually copy pasting a already fixed 2330fc3c_manila & _2330fc3c_manila to the windoes folder...

Could you post the \Windows\2330fc3c_manila file?

I can post it but it could very well be my user error. I know that when listing cities in the U.S. the go in a little diffrently on all of the Accuweather programs. How is your command line program set up to recieve the US cities and I will try that first.

The setup is like
<Country>,<Region>,<City,<AccuweatherCode>
Code:

Not sure how/where you would get the data, maybe this helps:

You could name the country aaaaa so it will be the first one that pops up...

SQL problem...
I'm trying to add:
Canada,Newfoundland,St. John's,NAM|CA|NL|SAINT JOHN'S
It is complaining about the ' character. I believe your SQL statement is getting confused by the ' in "St. John's" and "SAINT JOHN'S". You need to make sure when you read from the text file you encapsulate the string with quotes like "<string>" before you try to insert into the DB...

problem with swype

hi folks, hope someone han help with this.
i'm trying to cook in the latest version of swype (cabbed by lord yuz. from a 'certain' site)
i've converted the cab to an ext but even though it builds it's not opening the keyboard. i can't see what i'm doing wrong but if anyone has a working package or any ideas what i'm missing i'd be grateful

You need to replace 'ModelName.txt' in Operatorpkg with a T-Mob modelname.

thats what i initially thought from earlier versions but i understood this version was cracked to avoid that requirement?

If you are using ervius kitchen, and you created the EXT from the CAB,
normally on your app.dat file you will have only "Directory("\Windows\Swype...")"; try to exchange all of them with the equivalent like "Directory("\Program Files\Swype...")" the problem is that you will have a duplicate of all your file (each in windows directory and also in program files\swype directory).
To make it your default SIP use this reg key in your app.reg.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip]
"DefaultIm"="{7D51A54F-14D0-4eda-AC8D-0AE175C344E8}"

cheers mate, i've tried the modelname and no joy the ext i'm using is writing to the windows directory, i've edited all the paths but no joy on it working. also it's not duplicating the files.
i've cooked in nuesipdefault so swype is selectable. gives the option to choose.
any other ideas from anyone as i'm really stuck with this

hey chris... the cab you sent me is only for big ressource not all res allowed and i dont have langs BTW its overlapped in the softkeybar , does this in RS is compatible with all the resolutions?

3 different downloads. I finally managed to create a package that works with
osKitchen for the HD2 - Leo. just extract to your EXT Packages folder.

You have mixed up the previous version with the new one?
I have checke the package and there are a lot of different in the basic keyboard files.

yeah, its a combination of the Fixed.Blackbird cab and the EXT package with NL patch that can be found on the forums. it works perfectly on my HD2 when cooked using oskitchen.

[SOLVED] Latest 2.5.20153712.0 Manila with Twitter / Documents / Stock tabs

Can someone tell me how to get Twitter/ Stock / Documents tab working in manila 2.5.20153712.0?
Somehow i end up with an unstable manila when i try to add these tabs.

Can't seem to get Documents tab working on 2014 or 2015 manila
while i had it working in previous versions. Perhaps somethings is missing
in my source files?

Hi. Try editing the file again and look at the order. Ensure that the numbers are sequential 123456789 etc.

The 0409 dir is empty so the tab should be multilingual anyway Attached my 26948339_manila file too - I use all tabs + Docs, Footprints and Twitter but NOT Stocks in this file.
On a semi related note is anyone else having problems after syncing with MyPhone on Oboe based manila? I've tried with the People tab ext's from Leo 1.80 and 3.01 but both hang after syncing, and stay hanged after soft-reset Not using Oboe People tab as the Facebook part of the tab, though enabled in my reg, causes it to hang after visiting the Facebook link page...

Problem solved, indeed it was caused due to the older Documents Browser Package. Rom is fully working with Documents Tab now.
As it seems now you'll have to use Manila_DocumentBrowser_2_5_20143826_0 when cooking Manila 2014 or Manila 2015.

Did anyone managed to get it working on sense 2016? I followed all the steps, but still no luck in getting it work, while facebook and other tabs do work perfectly fine.

I use Manila_DocumentBrowser_2_5_20143826_0_CFC

Works fine for me, i've attached my 26948339_manila file so you can use it.
All tabs enabled ( so also Facebook is applied ) so you'll have to take out what you don't wish in your rom

Does anyone have issues with messages preview when cooking the Documents Tab?
I receive messages notifications but no preview in the message Tab so I have to change Tab and than back to message tab again to see the preview.
Removing Documents Tab fixes the problem???

i have cooked a rom with 23673 build and i used rhodium phonecanvas ....i have a problem with my incoming call screen avatar please see the screenshot below
i dont have the avatar image and icoming number i have only the blank white square screen::i have the avatar images in project a folder and i have the initflasht entries also
i dont know what provoque this problem will any one please help me if u have any solution...;thanks to all

This has been a known problem for about an yr now!!! Search for something called caller id fix, and you will learn more about it.

I have tried cooking in those files to 23673 and had no luck. I added them as a custom ext to overwrite the sys ones - perhaps I need to put them in the sys directly and replace the originals? Will try tonight.

You have to replace the originals, I'm also working on a rom based on 23673 and it is really a complex build I changed the complete Lockscreen and the Phoneredist, you can find them in the Common folder.

I'm not sure anymore from which build I take the files from, but my call history is also a little messed up, not fitting in the screen but workable.

[SOLVED] How to cook a rom without HTCMessaging?

I manage to cook a rom without HTCMessaging.
I removed HTCMessaging client
I added an Arcsoft EXT package (Arcsoft MMS 5.2.3.22R1)
and sms - mms works fine.
My problems is that I have a blank page in manila + htc contacts message page.
What regs do I have to change to make manila message tab work and to be able to sent a message from htc contacts?

It works, but it the mod has a known issue:
•forcing the sip to open using the tray icon may cause the input box background not to refresh.
My problem is that most of the time the SIP does not appear, and I can't start typing the sms.
Does someone has fix or a working package?
