One click lag fix vs. unleash the beast - Captivate Android Development

I had previously rooted my phone and installed the one click lag fix and decided to go ahead and get the unleash the beast zip to enable sideloading. Now my question is will there be any adverse effects of this. Sorry for the noob questions.

Do UTB then one click lag fix. as simple as that. Ive done it and it works.

Lovin' me some tasty Froyo, with Sky Raider 1.9.
CM too. Tried Sky Raider, but CM is just so clean and fast I had to switch back. I can live without a camera for a couple weeks
Interested to see the replies to this one as well - I would love to go to CM6, but losing the camera means too much to me right now (work related, sadly).
I tried out CM6 (Koush_Test) last night. The one interesting thing I noticed, was the battery was draining like crazy. The battery stat said the display was utilizing 75%.
I went back, due to not having the Camera... When you have kids, I need to be ready.. It was fun to mess with.
I am on Jager 1.8ota and stock kernel and I love it I was on his 1.8 with the hydra 1.13 kernel which is really great too!
Stock 2.1! I have overclocked/hacked every electronic device in my house that could possibly have it done except for my phone. I want to wait for the official Froyo OTA update then have a go at it (in the meantime I will just have to settle with jtagging my Xbox 360 and setting it up to run games off an external HD =).
Been using 1.2 yasr and have been really happy. I think i just like launcher pro though. Love to do cm6 but the camera is an issue for me as well. Official froyo will be welcomed.

It's way better it's like stock ROM but without sense and a lot faster and it has great batterylife!! i'm actually using it and it proved that it's the best out there, with an undervolt and overclock hydra kernel you don't need anything else, would love to use skyrider 1.9 but i'm waiting for the camera, i already tried jagger, CM and basically everyone on incredibleroms dot com and believe YASR is way better if you need link just search here in the forum yasr 1.1! =) cheers

I'm not really one to base any vast knowledge of this stuff on but I do know from my experiences in flashing that your best bet, imho, is to odin your phone back to factory and start over...no that difficult, be patient and let it do its thing...then rock some team whiskey!

[Q] Help With NS4G just bought... noob inside

hi i just bought a ns4g and i was wondering if there was a one click root ? i searched and found some but none for 2.3.4 ns4g only regular nexus... correct me if im wrong please and also i read that aosp has built in tethering and i was wondering if im not rooted or anything i wont get charged by using tethering? and last question i come from a epic and my nexus' speaker sounds really low is there a mod to this in the roms or is that a phone problem?
Here is the one-click root.

It might help to flash a custom kernel that supports voodoo control. Be careful not to boost the volume too much and blow the speaker. As with all mods, once you depart from stock there is a risk of screwing things up, especially if you don't what you're doing.

There is, but I don't suggest using it... it is easy to root the phone, just look up the guide and have fun. It's fun to figure out how to do stuff.
I have not heard of anyone being charged for tethering, but it does not tether 4G.
Download voodoo control from the market (requires a custom kernel, I suggest matrix kernel), it can raise the sound level.
have fun!
Matrix kernel is the best? Or which is the best

Both support bln, voodoo, overclock up to 1.4 MHz, and undervolt (for better battery and less stability).
Netarchy supports several additional features, such as touchscreen sensitivity tweaks if you tweak the config files. See the OP for the full list of features.
Matr1x runs at 1.2GHz by default (i.e. without changing the settings in Set CPU). It includes a custom boot animation, which you can change back if you like. Overall, it seems to be more stable, a bit smoother, and better for battery life. Compactness, stability, and battery life seem to be higher priorities to the dev than adding exciting new features. It is less tolerant of undervolting, if that's a concern. Turn off things such as wifi and 4g before flashing, to avoid issues.
Both devs are phenomenal, and I don't think you could go wrong with either. James Bond is also quite popular. For either, cfs seems to be slightly more stable than bfs for most people.
Note: Put the flamethrowers down. These are my own personal opinions and observations. YMMV
Matr1x kernel is very good i use it as my daily, if i were you i would just try them all and see which you prefer.
I have heard nothing but great things from both devs and their followers. I will probably try Matr1x first because it comes with Mikeyinid's rom already and his rom is about what I am looking for.

RandomRom Egret is Rocking My Socks!

Big Ups to RandomKing for this one. I can't post in the development section just yet, but this is by far the best battery life ROM(if not ROM period) for my specific Epic. I've not had ANY of the issues others have reported with either version. (I think my Eagle worked fine because I already had Chris' EG22Plus Kernel Loaded). Right now I'm draining 1% or less an hour when idle, and barely 3% with keeping my background data and auto sync on for work purposes. I think it would be even better if I wasn't using the gmail app.
Everyone else who may have tested this on both the kernel Egret comes with, and EG22Plus Kernel. Which one's working out best for you so far? I've had such luck on EG22Plus I don't even want to try running without it.

Similar pleasant, stable, battery-efficient experience here too in using RandomROM 2.2 Plus from the ACS Updater. I've stayed with the stock Vision kernel as I'm happy with that for now.

I am very pleased, and now with the overscroll and CRT animation it is pretty sweet.

I think the OP meant they could not post a comment in the RandomRom thread, not starting a new thread in Dev... pretty sure you cant even post a reply in Dev with low post count... not sure, its been a while.
Well, I'm glad you were so excited that you felt the urge to post, but just do idle comments, posting IN threads, not making them. Sooner or later, you'll get used to posting things, or sharing your opinion, and the post counter will start to fly. Congrats, and welcome to xda
Thanks for the support. The EG22 AIO patch does completely work now, and crawjr has incorporated it into his theme.
It will be built into the next RandomROM alpha revision hopefully later this week. Still waiting on a replacement phone...

It seemed to me I noticed a slight improvement when I installed the V6 supercharger. REally hard to say because it was snappy before.
I will say the apps seem to scroll more smoothly.
Yeah props man! This rom is snappy. I am enjoying the "stock" kernel rather than the cleanEG22 kernel from performance but I have noticed the clean kernel left more available memory after a task killer or memory clear. The more I kill hrough the day, the less and less availble memory every time even though the services and programs do not show as running anymore...

Thinking of getting atrix

Hi all. Im coming up on time to get a new phone and thinking about the ATRIX to replace my FLIPSIDE. Any of your experiences would be great to hear. Im not a social networker, not interested in getting email on my phone, occasionally go on the web. My main questions are, is the ATRIX easily rooted? How is 2.3 on it? What about battery life? Im mainly playing games, txtn and occasional phone calls. Thanx for any insight.
Sent from my MB508 using XDA App
If you're smart, the ATRIX is easily rooted, has great battery life, and is a great phone. Highly recommend it. You may hear battery life is bad, but that is completely user dependent. I promise you. Best of luck!
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
the Atrix is a pretty good choice for a gaming phone, it's Tegra 2 runs any game i've tried on it extremely smooth.
rooting is as easy as injecting a preinstall image with fastboot then a few simple commands in ADB.
i got my Atrix about two months ago, and i've been extremely satisfied so far. with the recently unlocked bootloader there has been a lot of cool development going on as well, even if not quite as much as other phones. we're getting a port of CM7 as well, which is already pretty stable if you ask me. after the kinks are worked out with HDMI mirroring, IMO it'll be one of the top gaming phones on the market.

Im forrest gump as smarts go, lol. I've been using superoneclick for my previous BACKFLIP and this FLIPSIDE. Will that work for the ATRIX? I don't do running codes well at all. I work with shell commands a little with my BACKFLIP, but seemed a little complicated for my simple mind. ;-) tia
Sent from my MB508 using XDA App
If you want to unlock the boot loader, you'll need to dabble in the shell, a bit, nothing too tough.
It's worth it for CM7
Im not the most tech savvy person here but I can assure you, if can you follow directions, you're golden.
As for the phone itself, it's a beast phone. You have the same habits/usage for mobile activities as I do but I do social networking. You can't ask for a more perfect phone. Phone call quality are middle of the pack though.

Obviously, all of us here are biased in their opinions towards the Atrix.
Personally, I would only maybe want one phone isntead of the Atrix - SGSII, can't give a definite "yes" though.
have it on my third one hate it! random reboots all the time, horrible battery life, broken version of android. what frustrates me the most is they seem to have an inability to build an android phone that simply works good battery life, beautiful ui, logical functionality not useless apps. i thought this phone would save android for me. i hate having to hack my phone to make it work correctly. i just want it too work! just get an ios device they work.
It's the best smart phone out there for now
power-wise
form factor-wise
screen-wise
etc, etc

Maybe you might want to start with Froyo for a while on the Atrix. Rooting with Gingerbreak on Froyo is just as easy as SOC.
Then you can read about unlocking and take it to the next level with Gingerbread when you are ready...
