*note, I'll be cross-posting this on the Galaxy Tab section but eliminating quotes regarding their smartphone business. I think both topics are of interest to this thread.*
Personally, I wouldn't get attached to these numbers, and also they may actually be listing these post-subsidy, only time will tell. However, I would venture to guess that these are a better way to define the price than looking at Expansys, the first comer to listing the device. But Samsung has been talking to the Korean press a bit about the near-term including the Galaxy Tab, Bada Sales and smartphone sales forecasts for 2010 & 2011:
Shin Jong-kyun, president of Samsung’s mobile division handling handsets, said Friday (local time) that the company plans to double sales of its smartphones to 50 million in 2011.
Samsung first set a sales target of 18 million for this year but raised it to 20 million, and more recently 25 million.
"The Galaxy Tab enhances portability and readability by having a 7-inch LCD screen. It will cost slightly more than the Galaxy S smartphone,’’ Shin said.
He added the Tab will be retail-priced at $300 to $400.

While, typically, retail probably implies that it's a non-contract sale, but I wouldn't get my hopes up due to differences in our languages and terms.
Samsung is positive about selling 10 million Galaxy S phones this year _ in just six months since its introduction. We have clearly secured a basis to write a whole new story for smartphones on the global market next year,’’ Shin said.

I interpret positive as "being upbeat" rather than "sure".
Shin said Samsung has sold 987,000 Waves as of the end of August since its launch in February.

Of relevance only due to the fact that they use SAMOLED and can bring their future economies of scale with smartphone manufacturing down the way they have with their feature phones, meaning we will (hopefully) continue to have extremely competitive pricing on the high-end devices instead of premium pricing like we see with the Epic 4G.
http://koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/biz/2010/09/123_72507.html
In a separate newspaper they quote shin on Galaxy Tab sales projections:
Samsung also expects to sell 1 million units of its new tablet PC Galaxy Tab, which will be launched in the domestic and global markets in early October, according to Shin.

Somewhat interestingly, they didn't get the same amount of clarification on price as KoreaTimes did.

So samsung did listen to me when I said the Tab wouldnt sell unless it was being sold for $300 to $400! $399 is still my guess and I will buy one!
In the UK, the galaxy s goes for £400, so I'm guessing the tab will be like £500+?
As long as its well below ipad it will do ok considering all the other droid pads comming out well below ipad. Ipad sold because of apple drones. Samsung have no fanboys

All is exactly similar...
the only difference are the some little "bad" construction choice from ACER have been fixed
Acer release under another brand name... the same tablet version 1.1 ?
weird choice no ?
Packard Bell is a subsidiary of Acer. The name has been used by two different consumer electronics companies. The first was an American radio manufacturer founded in 1926,[1][2] that later became a defense contractor and manufacturer of other consumer electronics, such as television sets. Teledyne acquired the business in 1978. In 1986, investors bought the name for a newly formed personal computer manufacturer. Originally the company produced discount computers in the US and Canada, it later became a leader in the European market. NEC took it over in the late 1990s. Taiwanese Acer acquired it in 2008.[3]
In spite of the similarity of their names, there has never been any corporate connection between the original or later Packard Bell and Hewlett Packard, or Bell System.

Packard Bell's PC line in the US back in the late 90s was HORRID. I owned a small PC repair business who did the authorized repair. I don't think they were owned by Acer at that time, but I'm not 100% sure. If Acer is making a tablet and marketing it under their name I doubt it shares any of the nastiness that was their American PC line though. I've had no physical problems with my A500 at all. It will be interesting to see if this is a clone of the A500 how close the hardware is and how well it's supported with Android updates.

oh it's worst than you think.
All the liberty tab hardware is exactly the same as Iconia A500... no difference at all
Software, let say remove some bloatware, add some and remove clearfi... you see what I mean
OS : so far 3.0.1 (no 3.1 yet so far, maybe now will have but even so)
so let say it's an Iconia A500 with a better body
It's fairly old news. In fact, there are already one or two other threads about it already.

Idiosyncratic. Why should the customer in Europe be required to buy an inferior product?

Anyone who can't see that the tab mimics the ipad is blind. Samsung said that much when they scrapped the 10.1v after ipad 2 announcement.

Wow! Samsung is truly shameless, that's even worse than the Tab.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus ad says it will hit Verizon on November 29, to cost $199.99
Nobody is really sure what it means at the moment, but we definitely know the ad showing the Verizon Galaxy Nexus for $199.99 is real. As in, It's not fake since it's showing up on Android sites across the web (we've spotted it here at AP, at Phandroid, and DroidForums to name a few). These ads are run by NetShelter, which is a premium advertising network that deals directly with carriers and manufacturers and does not mess around - we know them all too well.
Clicking Learn More goes to this page that doesn't list the Galaxy Nexus, so either someone pressed the Launch button a bit too early or the ad was scheduled ahead of time and someone forgot to postpone it due to all the recent delays. One thing stands out, however - $199.99 is about $100 cheaper than we thought the Nexus would go for. Of course, it may be a holiday promotion, but hey - we'll take it.

Note the tag "cmp=BAC-OM-111129-HOLIDAYSAMSUNG" in the Learn More url, which seems to point at a mysterious 11/29 date. Could it be the date the sale will go online? In that case, we're definitely seeing it prematurely.

That's a pretty damn good deal. Hopefully it's true!
Sounds great, this will be much easier to justify, hopefully amazon does it for 1cent.

That will probably be for the 16 GB version. $299 will be for the 32 GB version.

That seems more realistic.
Unless, Verizon wants to bet Google how much better they can sell the Nexus phones, to make them the only retailer to carry it...

I thought it was already determined the 32gb version was the US LTE version? Then again...everything about this phone is rumored.

I agree, especially if this info is any indicator. The page previously had storage listed as 16GB, but has since changed it to 32GB.
So, I think it's a good chance that $199 may hold up.

What does everyone think the US pricing will be?
The Note 4 off contract on the US carriers range from $750 to $850
I am thinking the Edge will be over $900 off contract.
I don't know but 900 sounds right, I will do a contract just hope the price is not too crazy on contract.
The Note II and Note 3 were both $699.99 off contract.
I expect the Note 4 will follow suit. I know through the Edge program it comes out to $826, but I'm still betting on $699.99.
As for the Edge, I'd guess either $799.99 or maybe $849.99.
Anything more than that and I think they price themselves out.
http://www.cnet.com/news/galaxy-note-4-launch-date-set-for-oct-17-preorders-start-tomorrow/
Based on T-Mobile's off-contract price being $749.76, I figure it shouldn't be more than $950. However, just looking at that number looks pricey, so I figure $899.99 .
Verizon is $699.99 full retail:

This is in line with every other Note. The Developer Edition will likely be the same from Samsung.
I'm hoping the Edge will be $100 more :good:
Verizon has it for $700 full price but AT&T has it for $825 full price. A whole $125 more, WTF!

It looks like the Galaxy Note Edge will go on sale November 5(Australia), but for a whopping $1249! :

That's insanity. $200 at the VERY most, but I doubt even that would get any buyers.. $100 max increase.

I agree.
Edge should be $899 at the most on the US Carriers.
Anything over will be way too high for people to stomach.
Samsung did come out today and say the Edge will be a "limited edition concept release" so who knows. They might
say concept phone and price it over $1000
Why the panic. That's obviously some crazy introductory early-bird markup that can happen when demand outweighs supply for the first few days. I mean look at the Note 4 price in that same article for $949 . Even if you extrapolate prices based on this article the Edge will probably still be under $900 when it comes to US and Europe.

I am also never getting another samsung device...if they tease their customers like this. They must just hate repeat buyers. But really, it they did release the update, it would be throttled down to encourage sales of the newer tabs. This is what I believe they did with kk. Why else would the tab s have no lag, and ours have lag on every screen change with the same hardware? Dirty tricks! I am done.

From another chart I've seen, the first batch of Samsung tab getting M will be the Tab A. Yes, not the new 4:3 "flagship" Tab S2, not the older flagships Tab S and TabPRO, not our PRO 8.4 which has a Qualcomm SoC and should be easier to maintain, but the lowly Tab A!
I wonder what had gotten into Samsung these days...

I really don't understand them. It's much more easier have 10 devices and update them than have like 100 devices and TRY to update them. It's a shame!
I am not surprised with lack of Samsung devices selling. First Samsung is expensive, Second they just promises about updates and Third KNOX sux!
These is the main reasons to me to abandon Samsung!
