Yesterday I installed a ROM called: Leo_AF WWE, dated: 14-08-2010. Radio verson: 2.10.50.07U
I thought I was installing Android. Yea, I know, pretty dumb. I admit it!!!
Have I done something bad? Is this ROM going to work with my T-Mobile phone? Is it possibe to go back to the original ROM?
I need an explation and any advice as too what to do.
Thanks in advance.
Irwin
all is fine, if you read the thread for that rom, it says tmous compatible, you have a tmous, so its compatible.
The most (in fact only) important part for you is teh radio, , , all radios have version numbers like x.xx.XX.xx
The red bit will always be either 50 or 51
If you flash a radio with 51, your phone will be unrecoverably dead, permanent.
Be sure of what you are flashing next time,.
Thanks...

It was a lesson learned.
I will be more careful from now on.

no worries, just one extra piece of info regarding 50/51 radios.
There are two ..50.. radios that will also kill your phone, they are 2.04.50.x and 2.05.50.x
Always go for 2.06.50.x and higher, and you will be fine.

sam, I'm curious...where did those two verboten .50 radios come from? And are they only available stand-alone or are they in some certain ROM's?
For the 2.04.50 the regular leo radio thread it quotes it as
Leo_RADIO_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2(from HTC ** 1.43)
(Perhaps originally they were gonna use 50 to 51 as a minor update code?)
and the 2.05.50 is from the tmous 2.01 test rom, which I think was the first tmous rom, and was probably written to work on the non tmous phones, so they could dev it using regular leos.
There is also a non tmous rom that has a ..50.. radio, taiwan rom, and has 2.12.50.x radio in it. Never heard any reports whether it is tmous safe or not, , , not sure what a Leo S is,
RUU_Leo_S_hTC_Asia_TW_3.04.709.1_Radio_15.40.50.07 U_2.12.50.02_2_Signed_LEO_Ship.exe
in the regular leo rom dev section, currently on page 12
EDIT - oh, glancing through that thread there is an asian rom for 576 Leo 1.5 phones too, wonder if that is tmous safe...
RUU_Leo_1_5_hTC_Asia_TW_2.14.709.P1_Radio_15.39.50.07U_2.10.50.26_Signed_LEO_Test.exe
WARNING FOR ANYONE READING THIS, please dont go flashing those two roms unless you know what you are doing, and if you DO, please dont blame me if it all goes bad.
or you could just install 3.5

I ran into the same thing he did when trying that, and I've still been able to run CHT/CHTE, etc without any issue
oh, and thanks for the explanation on the oddball .50 radios...I would never have guessed that's where they came from, but I haven't really poked around much with the test builds of the tmo roms.
Thank You Sir, I really appreciate the quick response. I did attempt to install the 3.5 however once I added CoOkies Mods and a couple of Dinik's the phone went bonkers.. Freezing, rebooting..etc.. Then I finally got an error that stated to install 3.5.. Thats why I figured those mods wouldn't work with the 3.7 that came on my phone.. I will, as you advised, post correctly the next time. Again thanks for the time to read thru my self inflicted drama and the knoweledge you have given.. LOL! You guys are appreciated.
Blessings and Respect bro! I will try to install CHTE again and see what happens.

I received my SIMUNLOCK code from TMO like 2 days after I got the phone. I have personally flashed just about every rom in this section and mine is still SIM UNLOCKED. Hope this helps..
sorry for the confussion let me clear this up a bit
first to 2002wrex that said"if the phone is SIM unlocked, thats permanent. for someone who has done many rom flashes, thats pretty much common knowledge.
yes maybe common knowledge but ever heard of a little phone called the iphone? if you upgrade to the newest software it is locked to AT&T and the DEV team does not think they can unlock it ...ever so thats why i ask the question with the cell company's getting smarter i wanted to know if i would lose that code...you never know right?
and as far as the
"for someone who has done many rom flashes" i guess i should have cleared that up as well ....i started with the wizard then the tilt then the diamond i have flashed all of them many times from this site BUT in the link you gave me
"http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614" that i have read many times it says "IMPORTANT: DO NOT flash any Rom unless it states in the 1st post that its compatable with the 1024LEO or the chef confirms its safe to flash on a 1024LEO. If you flash a Rom with a Base version before 2.08 then you will most likely brick your phone. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!" and not all roms say what radio is in it thats why i ask hope this clears things up a bit i was asking what would be a good first rom to flash on the hd2
thanks

No sim unlock just install HSPL for TMO 1024 and choose any of the available roms. HSPL is needed to flash ROMS. There are other methods but HSPL is the best way. Also read about task29.

All the roms in this section Are T-mobile based roms so no worries here about the radio version as they will all be right, As long as you stay in this section then you are good.
As far as the jailbreak for the Icrap goes the sim unlock is a work around not a true unlock. If you get the code from ATT and enter it then it never has to entered again.
ok thanks guy i just wanted to be sure thanks for the info really helped

Entering a code into the phone which was generated for that specific phone is a little different that tweaking iPhone's Software to allow a SIM card other than AT&T to be used with the phone. HTC given the codes out so there is no reason to try to tweak the HD2 to unlock it with software.
Morning all,
I've had my Leo for about 6 weeks now and out of curiousity i decided that before I went to bed tonight I would see what the score with the 576MB Ram hack/fix/tweak was. To be honest I am very impressed and disappointed at the same time. The reason for my impressed-ness was my phone actually does have 576mb of ram and not 448mb!! "SWEET!!!!!", I exclaimed, but while researching the topic it's been made very clear (hence my disappointment) i need a tmous 202 based rom (I have a question about rom version numbers themselves I will come back to at the end). I have a european HD2 on O2-UK and my first question is this:
Will a tmous 202 based rom brick my Leo?
It was also made clear that i need a radio version of 2.08.50.x was needed.
**ANSWERED** I have 2.10.50.19_2. Will that enable the extra RAM? I found out, thanks to nrg, that any radio versioned 2.xx.50.x_x will unlock the extra ram
My research also showed that hspl2 is most likely required. So which version of hspl2 do i need? I have already flashed hspl to my device as you will see from my sig so that is no biggy. I just want to check version numbers.
And, finally, going back to the rom version numbers. I understand that I have rom version 1.66.blah and that there are versions before and after mine spanning from 1.43 to 2.02 (maybe higher) but I don't understand which of these has WM 6.5 and which has WM 6.5.3, 6.5.5 or whatever. I've been looking like mad trying to find some sort of table but I'm lucking out and a pointer would be greatfully received . I ask because i am aware that in 6.5.5 the taskbar has moved from the top of the screen to the bottom and there are also several other differences between the versions.
So i think that just about covers all my questions for now on this topic. Massive thanks to everyone who can provide useful and helpful answers and just a little less thanks to everyone else
I just thought i'd give this a bump becuase i noticed it got moved. I also came to settle on energy rom standard sense 23569 but i can't seem to find a link for the june 6th version. Although with the comments i'm seeing about the new touch driver that nrg included the may 25th version my be the way to go.
I'm still looking for answers on the TMOUS 202 based rom questions and the hspl2 question. I'm not entirely sure what the answer to those questions is. From my reading it would appear that the TMOUS 202 rom would probably brick my device but i can't confirm it but it seems hspl2 would be ok. Does anyone have any confirmation on these?
And, lastly, does anyone know where i can find some clarification on which build numbers or rom version correspond to which WM 6.5 tree? this one is bugging me because i'm expected to make and informed choice and not knowing exactly what i'm flashing on my device isn't helping
hey mate, I am not sure as to the correct answers to your questions, but I thought I may aswell tell you about how I did with flashing my unbranded UK rom with a 576mb rom.
I decided top load a 576mb rom when i loaded a custom one since when i chose to load a new custom rom they had worked out most of the issues with 576mb ram (noise on phone calls and instability and stuff)
I had a good search and I was most impressed with this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653994
(sadly this rom has been discontinued)
So i set up my device, I installed the latest hspl which was version 2.08 at the time
I downloaded the rom, I followed this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
I did the task 29 first
then proceeded to start loading the rom
it started to install, then hung at around 25% I was quite distraught at the time, I had only had the device for about 1 week and bricking it so quickly really worried me.
after about 20 minutes of sitting there watching it I decided to pull the plug.
I restarted the device and of course it just hung on the htc logo
I restarted it again and got into the hspl bootloader (i breathed a sigh of relief knowing i could at least get the official radio back on it and then send it back to htc if something was wrong)
I tried to install the rom again however, and it hung at the same point. I was slightly confused now and decided to look at my setup.
My pc is a long way from my desk so I use a lot of usb extenders and hubs. Now I had seen advice not to flash it through a hub, so i was using an extension wire to make the htc cable long enough to get to the phone.
i decided to try and flash it without the extension wire.
It worked, it flashed in about 6 minutes or so, rebooted, and worked fine.
and now to this day I stil have that rom on it and I havent looked back, its been the best phone user experience I have ever had.
I also have the full 576mb of ram available now and it is working fine.
I hope this to be a reassuring post more than a scare story. The truth is that once you have hspl on the device it is actually very hard too brick it (similar too PSP's if you ever worked with custom firmwares on them and their equivalent bootloaders)
So my advice would be to go for it, follow the guides available and enjoy a new 576mb ram device

not specifically 2.02 rom, any tmous rom will unlock (when flashed with a correct radio, more in a sec). The latest stock is 2.13
however that doesnt mean you have to flash a tmous stock rom, it just means the custom rom you flash must have used a tmous rom as its base. (Any rom that advertises itself as 576 enabled uses tmous as a base)
It was also made clear that i need a radio version of 2.08.50.x was needed.

Any radio with ..50.. and not ..51.. in the version number, when used with a 2.x based rom (cooked or stock) should work to unlock the RAM.
If you flash a 576 enabled ROM and your radio is still a ..51.. the phone wont boot, or may only boot once, then hang at grey screen, until you enter bootloader and flash a ..50.. radio.
My research also showed that hspl2 is most likely required. So which version of hspl2 do i need?

HSPL2 is not required if you already have HSPL installed, all the roms will work quite happily with the HSPL you already have. However HSPL2 lets you choose more than just 1.42.HSPL, so you can match the spl to the rom version. (Or do as i did, install 2.08.HSPL and leave it at that, regardless of rom.)
No proof that having the correct spl or a higher version spl makes any difference, but it can't hurt, right?
I understand that I have rom version 1.66.blah and that there are versions before and after mine spanning from 1.43 to 2.02 (maybe higher) but I don't understand which of these has WM 6.5 and which has WM 6.5.3, 6.5.5

All stock roms, , , , ALL stock roms, , are 6.5
You can tell by the build number, the 5 digit number in chefs rom thread titles, but i dont really know.
There are loads of different builds, i 'think' builds 21xxx are 6.5 whilst 23xxx are 6.5.3, but 6.5.5 is also 23xxx, or maybe 28xxx, hehe. Sorry, you'll need to look that up.
Oh, and regarding the unlocked ram, when you are loking to see if it is unlocked, if you view the systems available memory, it will show 448 (128 taken by graphics card), you should look in the settings - about phone - hardware info screen.
thanks sam you cleared some things up for me aswell as the op i dare say.
Thanks Sam. The radio thing i figured out thanks to something i saw in the rom dev board and because i was trying to get better signal for when i'm at a mates house down the road i flashed 2.10.50.19_2 a while ago so i don't need to do anymore with that but i think i will just blast hspl 2.08 on tomorrow.
I do have one question regards version numbers. From what you have said my understanding is that all the stock roms are 6.5 and not 6.5.x. I've also deduced from what you said about the build numbers (with the help of some brief research) that 6.5.3 has build numbers in the low end of the 23000 range possibly 233xx?) and 6.5.5 has build numbers in the 235xx range.
Once i do flash my phone i'm not going to be that concerned about checking if it worked or not. I spent 4 hours reading every post in the original thread on the subject and i'm convinced that as long as i use the right radio and the right rom everything will be fine. I'm just not looking forward to transfering all the data on my sd card back and forth
Hello,
I am getting ready to buy an HTC HD2 from T-Mobile next wednesday.
I have been doing some searches for stuff here ond XDA.
I have a probably stupid question.
Are HTC HD2 and HTC Leo the same thing, can I install themes and other things for the Leo on the HD2 from T-Mobile?
Thanks in advance!
Yes, leo is the HTC name for the hd2. Yes you can run all the same apps and themes and registry tweaks, only when it comes to rom and radio must you be sure that what you are flashing is tmous compatible.

x2.
It is super important you are getting a radio and rom that are compatible with the Tmobile thing. If you are planning on flashing there is a link in my signature that should help you. If you flash something not compatible with tmobile it will brick your phone and be just as useful as a brick have fun. its an awesome phone
I too, am a WinMo noob and I just got the HD2 and am looking forward to putting custom ROMs on it. My only concern is if I accidentally brick the phone, is there any way to 'un-brick' the device and reinstall the stock TMo ROM that comes preinstalled with the phone?
if you can reinstall, then it wasnt bricked in teh first place, , , but yes, most problems are recoverable.
The big nono for tmous users is the radio, which the main distinction is the 3rd set of digits in the version.
It will always be either 50 or 51,
2.07.51.x
2.08.50.x for example.
all, every, and each radio with a ..51.. in the version WILL ALWAYS totally kill a tmous. Also 2.04.50.x and 2.05.50.x, even though they are 50 radios, will still kill it, stone dead.(or i suppose that should be brick dead)

Listen to SamSamuel, Ive read many of his posts and he KNOWS his stuff. But I think he may have mis understood one part of your post. If you brick the phone, like really birck BRICK it, meaning it will not turn on, the computer only recognizes it as 'Qualcomm xxxx', it is toast. There will be NO going back. It is a loss. So read, and read some more, then read some more, before you even consider flashing. HD2 bricks are some of the most expensive bricks out there...
Thanks alot peepes!

i've read lots of articles on this site. i suppose i'll need to instal another rom on my phone. i read a lot but i get little confused. i think first i have to instal HardSPL (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614) second i have to flash a radio and i can instal a rom. and on this page (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591784) it says i don't need to flash a radio. which means that i just install hardspl and instal this rom... am i right?
can you guys help me what am i suppose to do... and which version of hardspl, radio and rom works well for me?
sory to ask lots of questions but i don't know enough about wm phones ( thanks for guides...
Hi, basic steps are
1. Backup your important data like contacts etc..
2. Its very IMPORTANT that you Flash HardSPL first before flashing any ROM (No worries,it only needs to be done once for you to enjoy subsequent custom ROMs). Version 2.08.HSPL is ok.
3. Browse the threads for a suitable "TMobile HD2 compatible ROM" or visit this link for comfirmed ROMs.
4. Perform a Hard reset after successfully flashing any of the ROMs
5. Enjoy!
i suggest u clear your schedule, get coffee, tea, drink(s) and visit This Link . It contains info and links to all the guides you can possibly need to push you and your device to a higher level. i wouldn't recommend trying android till you are very comfortable with flashing ROMs.
you dont need to worry about the radio just yet, because since you have a tmous phone, it already has a radio that will work with all tmous compatible roms anyway.
Well I'm gonna just say right now I'm not an expert or anything since I'm relatively new too. I'm just trying to help, I would however advise wait for a more experienced person to answer.
First, if you want to flash a ROM follow this guide for the TMOUS HD2's. It goes over how to do it, which ROMs are compatible and all that.
Yes, you do have to get HSPL (except I think there are methods when you don't, though that might just be for the international phones...). But to get HSPL you should probably use this. I don't know if it is the only thing that does it but it, from what I understand, is the most well known. It also keeps you from "bricking" your phone.
From what I understand the only time you have to flash a radio is if the ROM needs it, and the chefs will say if it needs a certain one or list ones that it works with on their ROM page. I think most of them support the radio that comes stock, though don't take my word for it. I would wait for someone else to confirm or re-explain this paragraph because I'm not completely for sure.
As for which ROM is right for you...well only you can answer that. They all are different and different ones have advantages over the others. You just gotta explore a little and see what looks nice. This is the list of ROMs that support the T-Mobile HD2 so stick to it. I don't know how up-to-date it is (meaning I don't know if there are any new ones or not) but stick to those, you can "brick" your phone otherwise.
I would however advise if you're new to WM phones to try out themes first. They are a lot safer and I don't think there is any chance of ruining your phone (the only reason I flashed mine is because I've done it with a different phone before and felt comfortable doing it). Don't do anything you are uncomfortable doing and understand all the risks that go into anything you do to your phone before you do them.
Sorry for the long post, just hope this helps a little.
Edit:
I just got double ninja'd

It looks like COM5 and COM2 are just different versions. COM5 offers more options it looks like though, but I'm not sure. Someone else can probably answer that a lot better than me. I am also unable to answer the radio question. Sorry.
As for stock ROM though, that is the ROM that came already on your HD2 when you got it.

I see u picked out Kumar's ROM...Click Here for a thread on the definitions and differences between COMs...And No, you won't need to flash a radio after installing HSPL or a custom ROM (Unless you are having problems connecting to your network in which case, u need 2 be careful 2 flash a radio known to work with Tmobile HD2).
Stock ROM is the original/default ROM which TMobile shipped with your device. Follow this guide and you can grab the stock ROM from here. The Stock ROM has to be re-flashed to your device if u ever have to return it to Tmobile as flashing a custom ROM voids your warranty. Grab useful links and watch video tutorials here.
Hope dis helps ya.

You are welcome, we r all noobs on different levels..
i got static on my hd2 when i make calls. it was suggested that i change the radio rom to hopefully eliminate the static. i've never modded an hd2 phone before. i got a stock 6.5 on it. i hope its possible to change the radio rom without modding the stock 6.5. how do i change the radio rom? what are the steps?
i ask ONLY serious ppl to reply, no trolls or negative ppl.
You change the radio just like you do a ROM you can flash it via USB are flash it via SD card. Download thw Radio you want to flash and put your HD2 into bootloader by holding down the volume doen button while powering on your HD2. Connect it to you computer via USB and wait for the Serial in the white bar of bootloader to change to USB and then flash the radio.
Be adviced though with a stock ROM if it is a 3.14 ROM these ROMs are ver dependant of what radio version you have on the phone. They need a 2.15.50.14 or 2.14.50.02 radio. If you want to use any lower radio version than these you will need to flash a custom ROM, but they may still give you issues as most of the very resent custom ROMs are based of 3.14 stock ROMs
Do not forget my wartning from my other post about what radio versions not to flash.

hi, T-Macgnolia. good to hear from u again. ok, i read your message on my other thread. below are my current specs. but honestly, this phone shouldnt make any static calls whatsoever. its brand new. it should make CLEAR calls right out the box and i shouldnt have to flash it with any roms as a result.
os version: 5.2.21913 (21913.5.0.94)
manila version: 2.5.20181424.0
rom version: 3.14.531.1 (04666) WWE
rom date : 9/29/10
radio version: 2.15.50.14
protocal version: 15.42.50.11W
it looks like i got the most current version of the radio and stock rom.
but to be honest, all this flashing sounds risky and complicated. i already owned TWO hd2s and they gave the same static. i sent the 1st one to htc for repair TWICE and it came back unrepaired. i bought a 2nd hd2 and it had the SAME static. at this point, i cant beleive that any hd2s are static free. are you guys sure u dont have static everytime someone talks on a call?
also, this loser, samsamuel, is harassing me and i dont know why!! i STRONGY urge u to ban this guy from my thread and any of my future threads. he harassed me in my prior thread and hes creating problems on this one.
Lol, I was calling you on your bad attitude, not harassing you but enough said, I'll not post in your thread again.
Best of luck with your defective Leo.
lol "i'm not paranoid, they really are out to get me!"
i just want to add a few things:
1. you shouldn't HAVE to mess with your device. in an ideal world, it should work out of the box. but such is life...
2. the rest of us don't HAVE to help you...but we do, and for free! mind you, samsamuel's thoughts and posts are valuable and insightful, and i guess any "attitude" you received was probably well placed because your conclusion in your previous thread was based on statistical evidence when we all know that "correlation doesn't imply cause and effect". finally, your "how to change radio ROM" query has already been well answered and well documented on these forums, just search and read!
and now for the thread topic:
1. having the latest version of the radio doesn't mean it is the best version for your combination of network+location.
2. i honestly don't know for sure why you get static on every hd2 you have owned. the odds of getting a lemon so many times in a row are astronomical! mine works just fine. a friend and i brought our hd2s together from the same guy on the same day. his hd2 works fine also. my uncle has two hd2s, both of his work fine. another distant relative has an hd2, and given the pattern, you'd be correct if you guessed that his works fine too. no static on any of these hd2s!
3. are you using a TMOUS sim in the phone? have you tried another sim? have you tried demonstrating the problem to a TMOUS representative in-person?
4. is the device sim free, i.e. can you try another network's sim in your device? worth a shot...might be a long standing network/tower problem in your area.
anyway, cool down dude, don't be all paranoid, no one is harassing you in the true sense of the word...just slightly using the "stick" approach to nudge you into doing more reading and research of your own. it sure beats the whole process of posting->waiting->getting harassed->posting some more->waiting->so on. cheers

i dont want your help.. dont comment on my thread anymore.
Member ASCIIker is correct as it could be your SIM card giving you issues as the HD2 has been know to act kind of funky with some SIM cards. I would see about getting a new SIM card and see if that may solve your issue. You have the current up to date ROM and Radio on your HD2 so it is more than likely a issue with something besides the HD2. Try the a new SIM and then post back here with the result.
Cheers

Damn that sucks man. Have you tried taking your SD card out maybe you got something funky going on with it as I have heard of some people taking their SD card out and it solving weird problems like this.
I assume since you said it was a prepaid card you do have your HD2 SIM unlocked, Ialso know you-know-what what SIzm unlocking is as you talked about it in the first thread I seen you in.
If trying different radios and another SIM card has not helped I am not really sure what could be the issue, unless there is just a bad cell tower or something in your area that is only malfunctioning on the GSM bands the HD2 uses. I find it hard to believe you were unlucky enough to get two HD2s that had the same issue causing static. Not saying it could not happened but the chances astronomical.
Have you tried different radios? It has been busy for my this week and I forget if you have.

Hi, T-macgnolia. I really need to update my radio ROM. But based on my current stock ROM of 3.14, I’m limited to only 2 specific radio ROMS. I’m using one of them and obviously, I’m still getting distortion on calls. As a result, I want to install a custom ROM to install a lower version radio ROM that’ll hopefully remove distortion from calls. As I said before, I’ve never modded an htc phone before.
Since I got a TMOUS phone, you said not to install the following cuz I may brick it:
Leo_RADIO_15.36.50.07U_2.09.51.03 **(from HTC **1.72)
Leo_RADIO_15.31.50.07U_2.07.51.05 **(from HTC **???? )
Leo_RADIO_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07 **(from HTCWT 1.61)
Leo_RADIO_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2 (from HTC ** 1.48)
Leo_RADIO_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2(from HTC ** 1.43)
Anyway, what custom ROM do you suggest I install for my TMOUS so that i can install the right radio ROM on it? I want one that looks exactly like WM 6.5. also, can you provide the steps needed to install a custom ROM on my SD card.. thank you.

Yes do not flash any of those radios to your HD2 as they will brick your HD2, no might to it, they will brick it. look at the numbers I have highlighted and this is what you look for in radios that will brick a TMOUS HD2, any 2.05.50.xx radio will brick it too.
Ok the one ROM that comes to my mind when you say you want a ROM that is close to stock id the Energy ROMs as the ROM chef NRGZ28 has multiple ROM versions in that thread, all of wich IO highly recomend you just have to pick your flavor. Here is a link to the Energy ROM thread if you want to look at screen shots of all the ROMs as you might find one you like more than the ones he has that are close to stock. Here is a link directly to the post #3 which has the close to stock ROMs in it, you will probably want to go with the Eergy version are the Reference version from this post. to download click on the American flag and then select the most current version of the ROM you want.
Here is something you need to know it will help you know wich download to click on when you go to hotfix from clicking on the flag. This comes straight from post #1 of the Energy ROM thread, I added the red and blue writing to help you understand.
Looking at the download folder you will find two core versions of my ROM.
* The 21916 Build which is the most reliable and bug free release. It has the Start menu button at the top left corner! I recommend you start with this first!
This is the number for the closest to stock ROMs when you go to the download link.
* The 29017 Build that's the latest in the 6.5.X series with the Start menu button at the bottom left corner and big softkeys. These builds are not as stable or perfect, but they reflect the latest cutting edge technology from Microsoft. These are also much more finger friendly throughout.
This is number for the ROMs that are a little more modified but still close to stock if you use the ROMs I suggested.

hi, T-Macgnolia. thanks for the info. i got a question. i like the 'Reference 21916 build' ROM. but, i dont like the big soft keys (action and menu) at the bottom. i like the way the soft keys look on the stock wm 6.5. can i customize it to make the bottom look exactly like the bottom of the stock wm?
do you know if this ROM is the latest version?
also, hows the battery life on this ROM? i need to make sure that this ROM doesnt drain the battery... this is very important for me.

WM6.5 Stock uses an older Windows Mobile Build.. Build 6.5.3 I believe was the when it started to be more finger friendly and in turn has the larger buttons.. So if you like how the older build looks then look for roms that have that version of WM6.5
Look in the WM6.5 Themes you might find something you like
As for Battery Life.. It all depends many factors... Some say the latest Radio has a higher battery usage while others say the complete opposite.. You must check which combination of Radio/ROM fits your location the best and if the battery is decent enough to stick with.. That why most people start out thinking they wont flash roms, but once they start having problems or want better performace they change their mind

21916 will give you start menu in the top left corner without the big ugly softkeys... thats the other build number.
It only shows that in the pic as it seems to be the most popular version.
Battery life with energy roms tends be less than some other roms as they are optimised for speed. Battery life is by no means bad though. You should still be able to make it through a full day without worrying about running out of juice. That said, there are other roms which will give you better battery life if this is a huge issue for you.
Also, not sure if this has been mentioned yet but when trying out different radios its apparently a good idea to test it out for at least 48hrs before you decide if its making a difference or not.....
Yes koolxx as canantroutman posted the 21916 ROM will give you the same soft keys at the bottom and the same start key at the top like the stock ROMs do.The ROM you like the Reference ROM is based of the latest stock ROM so yes it is the latest ROM. So far as battery life goes I can not give any first hand feed back on this as AI have not used that ROM. What I can do though is refer you to member facdemol's "Various ROMs power consumption" thread, link is below. If you go and read his first post you can see from his test resoults that all ROMs use just about the same power as far as power consumption goes, but he does say that all around the Energy ROM does best on power consumption. Go check the thread out it is a very informative thread and project he is working on.
