I Gave Away My Dream

Spent the afternoon with my Grandkids yesterday and showed my new phone to my son - he was loving it and before I left, I took out my sim card and gave him the phone. I have a great kid - he's an adult now with kids of his own, a big mortgage, a stressful job and a high maintenence wife [I adore her, and she is worth every penny he spends on her.] .. It's rare that I see him giving himself expensive gifts. He does everything for his family and it reminds me a lot of my father .. besides, I love giving presents to him. When he was growing up I was a single parent and sometimes I couldn't give him what he wanted - Now I can.

That is on ehell of a admirable act!

It was a "feel good" moment for the both of us!

I am expecting an Xperia on Friday - I never really got to play with the Dream so if the Xperia doesn't thrill me, I have another phone that is allowed an upgrade so I might buy another.

I know, but technically speaking it is still the Intensive Care Unit, and we all are aware of SJ's health issues. I would not want SJ dying of cancer no matter how I feel about the company.
It is like an innocent joke about for example fat people, said by a thin person in presence of an overweight person - not appropriate unless they are true friends and both know they are joking but wishing each other well.

It's the stupid patent system that feeds trolls like crApple.

Understood. Maybe not the most sensitive wording, but I doubt English is his first language. Besides, his post is peppered with smileys, not exclamation points so it's all good.
I'm not a fan of Apple. I'm aggravated that the US doesn't get the coolest Android phone at the same time as the rest of the world. Apple is only delaying the inevitable. How do you compete against open source and the world's hardware heavy hitters? What do you do when you're getting beaten it terms of volume and specs? You sue, of course. And pretend everyone is copying you and that you didn't borrow and repackage anything from anyone else. I hate the patent system.
So now we have to wait. Great, three months is like an eternity in Internet years.

Yet again another reason to be an Android / EVO Shift user/owner. The VIDEO in the link below just reinforces what we all already know about ITurd ( Iphone ) users, they are lemmings. Yes I just came across the VIDEO, and it's a bit old. But I thought I'd share it anyway. Because it's Hilarious, plus it proves a point. ITurd users / owners will buy a molded Dog Turd as long as you tell them it's an Iphone . The cost of being stupid just went up :laugh: .

We had this video posted in thee doubleshot section, the funniest thing about the whole video is most of them people had the iPhone 4S in one hand and in the other hand another 4S and was saying how much bigger and faster it was, along with photo quality. All you have to do is tell someone its new and they will believe it.
*on another note*
I just got updated the other night to iOS 6 on my ipod and it said there were 200 more features added but in the release notes you have to have a certain version of an iDevice to get this or that. So now apple is fragmenting their OS like Android so that's one less thing they can "brag" about.
