[SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]
Hi all,
I kida stcuk at hboot 1.76.0007 after trying to run Singapore official RUU. so stupid of me.
I can't go into recovery mode, whatever button I press, it will go to hboot.
If I flash singapore RUU, I got old version error.
If I use other RUU, same image which is 3.05.xxx , I got ID error.
I copied the roo1.zip and renamed it to SAPPIMG.zip into sd card, but can't go into recovery mode.
and cannot fastboot as there is S-ON.
So anyway to rescue my magiic? mine is 32A
previously I know rules on flashing, but I bought HD2 4 months ago and lost track with magic. so all screw up.
Pls help me. Thanks a lot for your time.
Best,
Thihaz
Can you go into the system?
If not, did you make a goldcard?

what do you mean the system? the only place I got is hboot.
I have created one or 2 previously, so yeah I got one at least. The thing is it does not go anywhere.

Your using a perfected SPL which is why your getting the remote not allowed error. Try running the RUU with the goldcard in the phone.

yup. I tried running different RUU with goldcard in the phone, But what is the connection between goldcard and RUU?
what i can think of is either sd card is not detected or colume key or home key is dead that's why i cannot flash sappimg.zip from sd card.
anymore suggestions?
thanks a lot for your time.
thanks

If I'm not mistaken the RUU pushes the files to your SD card before running the commands to flash them to the phone but I could be way off base. The other possibility besides it not picking up the SD card is that your goldcard is jacked up. You could borrow a friends Android phone and try making another one.

ah I didn't know that. before things screwed up, I got an eng spl 2007 and new radio with a customised rom, i think cyanogen.
My understanding is that at least it should read the files from sd card but it looks like volume key is dead.
let me try with other sd card and see how it goes.
Thanks for your time mate.
Thanks.

Ok, I have tried with 3 cards, 1GB,2GB and 8GB.
1GB and 2GB have been used as a goldcard.
But this time no luck, nothing happened when I pressed
volume down + power
home + power
back + power
It was still going to hboot RUU. I think need to send it to HTC. Sigh!
Any idea or suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have managed to fix the phone!!!!!!!!!!
I should have digged inside xda more before I sent my phone to HTC service centre to pay SGD30.
They said my main board was damaged and needed a replacement with SGD360!!! FCUK!
I straight away said NO!!!. Gimme back my phone.
That's it. Because I digged xda forum and found a very very positive solution.
So I wanted to give it a try, that method is, yes, using Gold card.
Let me tell you how I did it.
My magic is spoilt so that there is no way I can get CID of memory card.
So I followed this instruction using Ubuntu to get CID
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=656798
but somehow I still cannot get the cid.
But Luckily I have HTC HD2, yes I can run android on it (thanks the genius ppl here)
So I formatted my memory card, put android folder as usual and run it.
Voila!! now I got my cid when I run adb command.
and I followed this instruction creating gold card which I have done it a thousand times before -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572683
And used this RUU
RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_3.05.401.3_release_signed_ NoDriver
(I used this RUU, because my data image version is 3.05, I cannot use lower than that, I think you know what I mean)
It fcuking worked. yes. pls excuse my language because I am so happy for my resurrected phone.
And thank you so much for the genius people here and xda.
Now we know that HTC sucks or they just want money!!!
Mod: How can I change that title to put [Solved] in front? or Can you help me change for those who had the same problem as me?
Thanks everyone.
Best,
thihaz

Hey guys,
I have a Nexus One that I have rooted and put a number of different roms on. Of course this somehow makes my friends think I'm some pro at android roms and such.
A friend of mine, who apparently either misread instructions or just fouled it up, gave me a HTC Magic / MT3G to look at to see if I could get it working properly again. Here is the situation:
T-Mobile myTouch 3G (1.2 version)
When attempting to boot, it will land on a "HTC MAGIC" splash screen but not boot into android.
When attempting to go into recovery mode, it doesn't seem to have a custom recovery mode... but here is the info on the Fastboot screen:
SAPPHIRE UNKNOWN 32A ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT-1.33.2010 (SAPP31000)
CPLD-13
RADIO-3.22.20.17
Jun 2 2009, 17:27:03
I was trying to think of how I could investigate more, but aside from going into fastboot and hboot I don't know what to try really... I am used to using a custom recovery or being able to boot into android and use ADB.
What do you guys think? Hopeless? Or perhaps have some ideas of some things I could try to get this thing running?

These instructions, mark, is for 32B, looking at the bootloader info our friend posted, seems like his is a 32A. Or perhaps this is the problem?
I believe flashing the wrong ROM would brick the device.
Looks like 32B may be the google dev device, this one is the MT3G (I think 32A?).
Sorry my bad,but the the basic details are there to help you out.
Tried flashing RA recovery:
fastboot flash recovery ../../recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0H.img
sending 'recovery' (4520 KB)... OKAY [ 1.720s]
writing 'recovery'... OKAY [ 2.375s]
finished. total time: 4.096s
Rebooted holding down back, but still appears to be regular recovery mode...
EDIT: I wonder... just read this:
"Use the H/G version if your Magic is HTC branded (PVT 32A board)/Google branded (PVT 32B board)."
This is from T-Mobile, which I guess means Google branded? Thus, it should say 32B in the recovery mode... but says 32A. Maybe I could get a different img onto the micro SD (32B version I guess) and try to hboot?
EDIT 2: Scratch that... looks like it is 32A motherboard... they changed for the 1.2 version.
Tried running the official RUU found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659403 but I guess that actually requires the device to be booted up fully... not in fastboot lol.
your friend installed the wrong radio and fastboot for his device
thats your problem - he is using the hboot and radio for NON - 3.5MM jack versions
those versions use the 2.x radio and spl is different as well... - You should look at threads about that device specifically... your friend obviously does not read and/or search enough and assumes old instructions are good for his device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=622530
edit: and yes - with some simple reading skills I pulled that thread out of the sticky rom bible and deduced how to fix the device
lol - you people need to learn to read more and ESPECIALLY your friend .... half the people with this device rooting it have no idea how to read/search for information
HUZZAH!! I managed to find a T-Mobile MT3G 1.2 shipping rom on some post on this forum (sorry for no credit, I've been scouring trying tons of different things... if anyone knows what I'm talking about, please reply for others!). I then had to get that on the microSD to install with hboot... The funny part is I couldn't find a microSD adapter, so I actually mcguyvered the most expensive microSD adapter ever... I used the HD2 I had laying around as the most expensive microSD adapter ever to move the rom onto the MY3G's card, haha.

you didnt really need to do that - if you just follow the instructions in the rooting guide it tells you how to fastboot the radio and spl you need and then gives further direction...
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot flash hboot hboot_7201A_1.33.0013G_091021.nbo
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2G.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
the files are located in the link to cursordroids thread
le sigh - dunno why you didnt even bother to read the post?
you people are beyond helping...
I was typing my reply without even knowing your new post was there
This is a common problem with the new mytouch 1.2, I flash the radio and ect... PERFECTLY, just go ahead and try to flash amon ra's recovery, you should still be able to do that and do a full wipe and flash a rom...worked for me
Mod. edit: not dev related, moved to general
Legend Root Step 1
Erasing cache and rebooting in RUU mode...
erasing 'cache'... OKAY
... OKAY
About to start flash...

sending 'zip' (121756 KB)... OKAY

I do everything the guide tells me to but it gets stuck on writing zip
Any help?
Thanks.

Hey guys,
I have the original myTouch 3g (no 3.5mm jack).
I decided to unroot and go back to T-Mobile's original Froyo version (i know stupid idea). I attempted to use SAPPIMG.nbh file to go back to factory. Unfortunately, it didn't work so I tried using SAPPIMG.zip. Now I have a Vodaphone splash screen instead of the T-Mobile one. no access to recovery, or anything. I can access fastboot. Where did I go wrong?? (aside from wanting to un-root myself)
Any help would be appreciated!
Fastboot Screen reads:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32B SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.33.0009 (SAPP30000)
CPLD-10
RADIO-3.22.20.17

well if u can access fast boot you can probably flash recovery again
fastboot flash recovery "recovery file.img"
or try to boot recovery
fastboot boot "recovery file.img"
I attempted to do that but I get a signature failed error and booting recovery file just leaves me stuck at the red Vodafone splash image. Nothing else comes on.
try finding the proper sapping.nbh file for your area / carrier.
place it in the root of your memory stick by its self. turn on your phone while holding vol down and let it flash the file. you should end up back on stock 1.5 i think just root again after. i had a similar problem like this like last week and had to start over =/

I have tried multiple different sappimg.nbh files. But the problem is that now it somehow has Vodafone files on it. So i'm not sure how to get it back to T-mobile.
Every time I try the SAPPIMG.nbh it gives me the following error: Main version is older.
If I try to use a SAPPIMG.zip I get the following error: Model ID incorrect. Everything sort of fails when it checks for the signature.
Also, when I try to upload amon ra recovery to recovery partition with fastboot I get remote: signature verify fail.
Wrong section!!!!
@crazy
You're new here... so let me warn you here and now. The Development section is for the members that want to post their work such as roms, scripts, hacks, etc. When I'm in a bad mood and I see posts in the development section that are not development related I normally just delete them. However, I'm in a good mood and decided to move it to GENERAL where it belongs. HOWEVER... next time it will dissappear. Please take a few minutes and carefully read over the forum rules and stickies before posting. We also have a search feature that works quite well (most of the time).
If I see that you posted a new thread about something that is found in a sticky, already been answered and can be found by using the search feature or against forum rules you're post will be deleted and you may even be subject to losing your membership.
Besides all of that... enjoy and welcome!
Thanks for your help @Binary.
I searched all through the forums and tried to flash a recovery through fastboot. NO go.
Next I tried the gold card method and with that I continue to get either Model ID incorrect or Main version is older. So here I am seeking guidance from everyone else who may know what I can try next.
Thanks in advance for all your help guys.
It seems like your Mytouch 3g haven't flashed recovery.img just choose a suitable image to flash. XD

How do I force flash the recovery image? Any time I try flashing any recovery image via fastboot the signature check fails. Is there an official recovery image that would work?
Any help guys? Still not running.
can you boot into system or not?
if yes, root your device and flash recovery. That's what I did yesterday.
if not,use SAPPIMG.nbh again,and then flash rec,radio/spl through fastboot.
i don't know if it helps, just try it.

Woah woah woah dude. You can't just have someone flash a sappimg just because it worked for your device. He needs a specific one. That one may work, but there's the same percentage chance that it could also brick his phone.

Thanks Don Juan for the heads up and looking out, but i'm getting desperate at this point. I have read through almost all the threads on the forum regarding my issue. The only thing I haven't tried is the GoldCard method at this point. Unfortunately and quite bad on my part, I never made one. Now, attempting to make one without Android is almost impossible. I can't read the SD card CID on anything. I've tried a mac, windows XP, windows 7, I even tried Linux but nothing.
Any insights and words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.

Can you give me till tomorrow when I'll be able to sit down at a computer and give some proper guidance? One thing is for sure, if we have to make a goldcard you'll have to see if you can borrow an Android phone from a friend. What you can do in the meantime is get ANDROIDSDK installed, turn the phone on in fastboot mode plugged into the computer and run the folksingers commands from the ANDROIDSDK Tools folder
Code:

Hello,
i've been reading a lot in this Forum since i've got my DesireZ and so far everything worked for me...when i got the Phone i installed CM7 and tested few RADIO's/RIL's....and until now everything worked for me (after some tries).
But since my batterylife seems kind of poor for me (i have a Mugen 1800mah battery and with 3G i have max 1 day) i'm playing around with a lot of RADIOs...one week ago i saw in someones signature that he was using kind of an old baseband (12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M) with the ROM i like best (ILWT-CM7) so i downgraded...but the battery life did not really improve..so i wanted to try another radio but it simply does not work...when i did this before i just copied the PC10IMG.zip to the root of the sdcard, booted into hbot and installed (worked a lot of times for me) but now it's just saying that there is no image, downloaded different files, always checked md5...so i tried the fastboot method which ended up saying
$ sudo ./fastboot flash radio radio.img
sending 'radio' (24960 KB)... OKAY
writing 'radio'... FAILED (remote: not allowed
i've googled the error and saw that the cause is that i did not install eng-hboot...i will try to install eng-hboot and try again but i think i've done this when rooting the device...i will try to install eng-hboot (again) and try the fastboot method.....but i still don't understand why i can not install the radio through hboot....
any hints for me?

Is it possible that you flashed an "official" rom since your last radio flash? That might account for the loss of the eng hboot. What does it say in the bootloader menu? ship or eng?

You don't need the eng hboot to upgrade with the pc10img.zip so that's kind of odd that you can't upgrade that way. Double check the naming of the file and make sure its PC10IMG.ZIP and not PC10IMG.ZIP.ZIP I've seen others mention that it can get named that way by accident.
I do like having the eng hboot however as it does give you more options.

i've double and triplechecked this....the file is named correctly...(i am using linux to adb push the file so theres no way that i've disabled the file extension hide thingy in windows).
since the file was always named PC10IMG.zip with lowercase .zip i've tried to name it to PC10IMG.ZIP which did not change anything...still the file is not found by hboot.....

yes i thing it should not be needed to install eng hboot...but i see no chance to change my radio......and i don't get how to install the eng hboot...i read the howto and the only way i see is to use gfree which will not work since i need to load the wpthis kernel module...which is only available for 2.6.32er kernel and i am not sure if this will run with my android version...
hmmm that's quite interesting....i've been playing around...and when i go to recovery mount the sdcard and choose install zip from sdcard it lists all my Directorys on the card but not the zip files (there are 2, the PC10IMG.zip and the efs_wipe zip file) which i see when i look with the filemanager but not in recovery...and the hboot does not see it either.
Is there a relation?
EDIT: thats quite interesting...i tested with another sdcard..that worked....but sdcard seemes to be okay....md5sum is okay....just that zip files are not found in hboot and recovery...
I've tried everything and I can not get S-OFF. I do all the tutorials and there is no way to manage to get on my Magic S-OFF.
Someone help me? I searched the forums but there is nothing similar.
I have:
Hboot 1.76.2007
CPLD 12
Radio 6.35.08.29
I tried switching to another radio, but when I fastboot gives me error: failed <remote: signature verify fail>
thank you

Try flash stock rom again by following this manual: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5526163&postcount=1
Download Hboot 1.76.2007 from 4shared: http://www.4shared.com/file/G3v1xc0I/update-hboot-1762007-signed.html
Use patched recovery: http://www.4shared.com/file/_JJa2Chb/ra162_635.html
When you will flash hboot (from recovery) - follow instructions on screen. Don't reboot until text will appear...
Still can't have S-OFF
Thanks for your reply.
I tried what you told me, but couldn't do it.
The phone is rooted, I installed DietGingerbread and everything is working, but I have problems with battery (drains in about 1 day without doing anything, just being turned on - already callibrated it), my Bluetooth also doesn't work, I try to turn it on but it turns off automatically.
Any other help?
Thank you
I think, it's problem with this custom rom only. Try another...
Thank you for your replies.
I don't think it is the ROM. Let me post what is my feeling about it. My feeling is only for what I sense, not from any other knowledge, I am pure amateur.
Problems came out when I installed CM 7.2 and clicked fix permissions on ROM Manager. After that, phone got lots of problems, so I thought...better to install everything new from scratch so I put the latest RUU oficial from HTC and wanted to do the whole routine to root and take S-OFF.
The thing is I never could put S-OFF anymore, and believe me I tried everything...and asked a friend for help who couldn't do it as well.
Now my problem is this:
Battery lasts less than 1 day without any major use, not even internet or wifi.
Bluetooth doesn't work
Think kernel might have anything to do with this? I have carz latest kernel. Is there a way to bring the original kernel back?
Thanks for the help guys, I really need it!
same problem, please help
Use fastboot commander
fast boot commander thread
good luck

Man, you wrote too many words and i'm confusing with it (s-off, custom, kernel, bluetooth... what a mess!)... what EXACTLY do you want first? Do you still want get S-OFF???
To get S-OFF you must follow manual in second post of this topic...
What problems do you have with this manual? Did you flash rom? Did you flash custom recovery? Did you flash engineering hboot?
Sorry for all the words, but I have lots of problems with my Magic.
After that ROM Manager Fix Permission thing, my phone is a mess!
I tried every tutorial on the web and S-OFF is not there. Flashed ROM, installed custom recovery (tried with some of them) and when I flash eng hboot nothing happens. I restart the phone but S-ON is still there.
My friend tried it as well but no S-OFF comes out.
I still want S-OFF, I think after that problems should be solved, but I wrote the other problems because it could help you help me.
Thanks again for your patience
Wait, wait... Here is checklist.
0. Does your SPL-info in first post changed by something? You must have 1.76.XXXX / 6.35.XX.XX to get S-OFF...
1. Did you install custom recovery AmonRa 1.6.2 patched by cursordroid? I posted link in second post...
2. Reboot into recovery (Home + Power) - what version do you see?
3. Did you download hboot 1.76.2007 from my post?
4. Copy 1.76.2007 zip-file to root of sdcard, boot into recovery and choose 'flash zip from sdcard', point to this archive and follow instructions...
5. After all, turn phone off, then turn on by pressing Back + Power... what SPL-info now? Write first 5 rows (all symbols are important)
Yes, I did all that on the first reply you told me.
Right now I have:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A ENG S-ON H
HBOOT-1.76.2007 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-6.35.08.29

Thanks
Too sad to be truth...
Perhaps, things like gfree or incfree can help... but there is no gfree for Magic/Sapphire.
Here are incfree sources:
https://github.com/tmzt/g2root-kmod/tree/master/guhl
To build version that is compatible with Sapphire/Magic we need change some code (memory addresses, partition names and etc..) or we need find coder who will change this code.
I'll show you some magic :0)
Issue this command from fastboot and you will have your s-off:
Code:
fastboot oem eraseconfig
Enjoy :0)

To everyone else:
Try to not mix things together.
There are many settings that have nothing to do with ROMs.
The above example is perfect. He could flash as many roms he wanted... he will still be s-on. That's because the secu.flag was set in "bios" of the phone... The reset command should take care of that... but we are changing things in bios... not in the OS.
I could write a full article to show case my point... but does not have the time..
I hope the words are of little help :0)
Thanks for the tip, but here's what I got:

I have S-OFF!
Thank you guys for your help.
Now i'll have a search at the bluetooth and battery problems.
I now have S-OFF back!
I told you... it's magic :0)
The bt and battery problems are ROM related. Try another ROM. (Roms come with new kernels).
