I rebooted my Omnia 2 and found that it didn't seem to recognize the internal storage card. The "My Storage" folder was missing and none of the apps installed there worked. They're still visible in the program list, but I get a popup-error when I click on them. When I opened the battery-cover I found a lot of dust, which is a common problem with the Omnia. Could the dust have "destroyed" the memory card? Also, if I tear apart my phone, would I be able to remove the memory card or is it locked to the phone?

For me nothing worked and I had to send to be repaired by Samsung through my carrier . I was without phone (my carrier give a basic phone for the period) almost 4 weeks .
After they fixit so far so good. I think they did some firmware updates also as the phone seems better.

I installed NueStorageManager like the instructions said, but I couldn't find the missing storage. I haven't done anything to my phone so I have no idea what could have cause this. I might have accidentally deleted "My Storage" in the file-manager. Is that even possible? Or there could have been an error when I removed the USB connection to my PC. While the phone is connected using mass storage the storage is not visible in the device. Perhaps the phone didn't recognize when I disconnected it, and it still think it's connected.
On the device, when looking in the USB Connection settings you can select "My Storage" from the list of storage cards. When I connect the phone to my PC the device status says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". I uninstalled the device from the Device Manager, rebooted my phone and tried to reconnect. This time, it couldn't install the device!
If I try to reset My Storage it just says "My Storage unavailable". I did a hard-reset but that didn't help.
I guess I'm gonna have to live without my storage. Dang it.
Like I said , I tried everything myself and the only solution was to send it to service.
It seems that the intenal (16GB on my case) memory went dead . I wasn't doing nothing special also when it happened.

happened three times for me!
they only changed a card in the phone and sent it back, after three times I got a new phone.

I remember, where an Omnia 2 hanged up or so - then it's been rebooted. The Internal Storage vanished from the File List, but the Main Storage and the MicroSD were still available.

Hi guys... I have the worst problem since I bought this brilliant device: I was playing with a game (installed on the mini SD), and when I tried to save it told me I had not enough storage space. Puzzled, I ended the game and went back to the normal pda functions...just to find out my SD is not recognized anymore. Zero, nada. Disappeared. Tried to get it out and in again (a million times), and I don't even get the sound I used to get. I tried fitting the minisd to the sd adapter and put it in an old zire: the card works!Everything is there. But the wizard won't recognize it anymore. Tried soft reset and it didn't help... Not so keen on hard resetting unless it is the only option but...I'm dazed...It doesn't see it anymore.I admit I was playing the game at 240 mhhz (overclocked) but I had played it a million times already and everything was smooth... I have had the problem of the memory card seemingly disappearing.
On checking closer, I noticed I had 'Storage Card' and 'Storage Card2'
Storage Card had one file on it and everything else was still on Storage Card2.
By deleting Storage Card abd soft reset, all was restored.
This has happened a couple of time.
If this happens to you, make sure you delete the right one.

I've never unlocked the extended rom (Storage_card_2), so i have just Storage Card, a 1 Gig Sandisk mini SD. Still, it dissapears a couple of times a day, and i must soft reset my wizard to appear again. Very, very frustrating
Missing data
Something similar has happened to mine as well....
I turned my PDA on and accessed the storage card just like I do on any other day, only to find that all of the files had disappeared!! Everything had gone - but when I went into the memory setting, where it tells you how much space is used on the card it is still showing up as being half full i.e. the data is still there but not showing up on explorer!!
What is this all about??!! It has never happened to me before!!
Just wish I could offer an explanation on how to fix this...
You can probably read those files in Windows. This memory card disappearing problem seems to occur frequently with Wizard. Lookslike some program keeps corrupting the memory card.
Format the card in Windows and put it back in your phone, it will most likely work.

If you format the card, surely it will wipe everything that was on there in the first place..?!
There must be a way of retrieving those missing files somehow without resorting to formatting...
The weird thing is, today I transferred a single file from my desktop to the Sd card (whilst in my XDA) and suddenly some of the missing files appeared...?!
Now to find the rest of them....
I would love to have storage card 2 or something like that, but all I get is...the same behaviour I'd get if NO sd was in. I don't want to hard reset UNLESS somebody can confirm me this works...I am so desperate, it kinda looks like the sd reader is dead...all of a sudden! Please guys help...

It happens to me too - if I go into file explorer, I see storage_card and storage_card_2. The contents of storage_card_2 are exactly those of my SD. If I delete storage_card, remove and re-insert my SD, storage_card_2 disappears and storage_card is as it should be...
It was an sd problem...as soon as I have formatted it started to work again...

I am having a weird problem and that is any file that I copy on the memory card goes missing and I can not see it. Files are on the card though since checking the memory card size is giving the approximate correct used space. Is there anyone else having the similar issue? I tried even a hard reset but it didn't help. by the way I am running TouchFlo v14 for the wing.
Also is anyone know how to format a memory card, I couldn't find it anywhere.

As far as formatting the card, I use a program called CNETX flash format which installs on the phone.
Missing 1go Kingston card
I carefully followed all of the above instructions for the pagefile change. It appears to work///got the dos window etc. but upon restart, my storage card with all the programs has disappeared...nowhere to be found "not installed"!
What did I do wrong please??? have I somehow destroyed the card? Is the disappearing act related to this tweak or simply coincidental. I would really appreciate some feedback here!

actually i lost all the pictures and music on my card a couple times. the first time i just recreated the my pictures and my music folder on my storage card and it all came back. the second time this didn't work and i ended up having to bring the microsd card to my friends dorm who had a card reader in his laptop and i used a freeware undelete utility to recover all the missing files.
this happened to me both times while reflashing the phone so from now on i've removed the microsd card while flashing the phone and i've had no problems since.

Hello everyone. I have tried searching for a fix to this problem on this forum as well as Google but have not found anything. If I overlooked it somehow I apologize in advance.
My Vibrant shows an exclamation point on the top right next to my 16gb SD card icon. I can mount and unmount the card without issues. I can retrieve data, drag & drop as well as access the card without issue. I tried reformatting, shutting the phone down and reinserting the card and nothing seems to help.
I am running everything stock on my Vibrant, no root, themes or mods of any sort. My pc does not have a card reader installed. I do all the formatting through the Vibrant.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i suspect reason no one has responded is that it's not clear what the problem is -
you indicate "I can retrieve data, drag & drop as well as access the card without issue." which would indicate no problem
assuming you do like i do occasionally, ie speed type, and that the issue you can not retrieve data or drag & drop, one suggestion would be to ask - did you format in the FATS 32 format or NTSC
the samsung requires FATS 32
I just used the Vibrant to format the card so I'm assuming it is FAT 32.
The only problem I have is the exclamation next to the SD card icon on the top right of the screen, aside from that, everything seems to work fine. I just don't know why it's there or if it will cause trouble in the future.
Does it look like a triangle at the home screen? If so, that just means you have debug mode enabled. In general, you want debug mode enabled, because it allows you to connect the phone via ADB and PDAnet. If you want to turn it off, just slide down the notifications and select the exclamation point to turn it off.
There are probably some times you want it off, but I cannot think of any right now.
If this icon is in the notification, what does the notification menu tell you the issue is? I'm also guessing it's the red triangle with ! in it which is the debugging mode on icon.

I do have debugging on but that's not the exclamation I'm worried about. Check out the screen.
That's not your SD, it's your SIM.
According to the manual, that icon "Displays when there is no SIM card in the phone."
I had a similar issue where my SD card & internal store (save for dedicated app space) was unreadable. This is doesn't sound like your issue. But if it is, I had to return the phone. They were very understanding.

Well i have been getting the following faults since yesterday evening
1, Get notification that SD card was removed unexpectedly - then it loads again. when it says sd card it implies the internal memory - since while it is loading apps installed on internal memory are greyed out.
2, Sometime i get notification saying damaged sd card - when i click on it it tells me to format internal storage. Sometime restarting the phone restores everything yet other time you need to do a hard reset.
I have tried everything - i upgraded to the latest firmware / formatted internal storage. Fault keeps repeating. Most of the time fault happens when i wake up phone from sleep.
I contacted samsung - and they told me to take it to have it repaired. What a pity - i only had this phone for 2 weeks!!!.
Anyone passing through the same thing? not sure whether this is a known issue since the repair was quite decisive in that phone needs to be repaired - maybe samsung is aware of such a fault.

have had the phone for almost a week and no issues like what you said so far. assume u don't have an sd card inserted and "sd card fault" is really the internal memory and not the actual sd card itself.
sounds like a faulty phone and u should get a replacement.
From your post it wasn't quite clear that if you have sd-card or not?
If you don't have, what happens if you enter sd-card? Maybe there is something in the slot which is making the error. If you just put sd-card there maybe it will get fixed?
On the other hand if you already have sd-card in the slot, I think that is a problem of the sd-card then.

OK i tried one other thing - i removed external sd card from mobile.
When i try to move an application to sd card it tell me "Failed to move application not enough memory"
To my knowledge the galaxy should use the internal memory for applications right?
So i assume this is a clear indication that there is something wrong with the phone

I've changed my micro-sd 3 times but still have same problem.

Hey everyone, I really need your help.
my 16GB microsd died last night, here's what happened:
I had gotten google music beta on wednesday, last night i was showing it to a friend, then clicked home. I have Watchdog installed, which told me music was taking up a lot of CPU, so i went in and killed it. instantly, android notified me that the sdcard had been ejected. then it popped up and told me that a blank card had been inserted. I was confused at first, but didn't do anything with the card, I took it out, reseated it with the phone off, started backup, same issue. I put the card into a card reader on my win7 pc, no luck, the card really is dead. It shows up with a drive letter, but notifies me that the card needs to be formatted.
Does anyone have experience recovering data from flash drives? I always backup my roms to the card, and apps using titanium, but I never ever thought of backing up the entire contents of the sdcard elsewhere. HELP!?

Use that on windows, it worked when my sd got messed up. This is assuming the files are still on the sd and not gone completely. You could try the repair option in windows if you have Vista/7, not sure about macs or linux.
Thanks but right now windows is telling me that the drive is not accessible. recuva is also saying "the parameter is incorrect". I can't see anything on the card. I think i need some low level scan type stuff, but I have no idea what program goes that deep.

Sorry, don't know of any software like that. You may need to format if you can find no solutions.
I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago, but the last application that I used and caused the card's premature death was some FM radio app.
Since it is not recognized in any device whatsoever, I don't see any software that can help you even attempt to recover, fix or format the card.
But I learned a lesson: I always used to do backups once in a while, but when the card fubared I just learnt the hard way that I wish I had made backups more frequent...
