I keep an eye out for that kind of thing, and I have heard/seen nothing about that. Although, I do believe there were a number of new Android builds for the HD2 that came out right about then, are you sure it wasn't one of those that you heard about?

I read about it on the T-mobile forums. The person in question also stated that it was up on this website, but now the thread and all links have been removed/deleted.
Conspiracy?!?
Or BS???

Yeah if they pulled the thread and the links, I'd assume that someone called bs on it and they did what we would do here, and just trashed it. It's possible to that it was in reference to the release of some specific ROM (or ROM build) on that date, but my guess is that it was just someone trying to stir up trouble...you'd be surprised how often people actually do that in this type of environment

Yeah, they quoted that the links were directly from HTC....not uploaded to this site or some other site. I'd post the link, but I'm not sure if that is kosher on this site (or the other).

I just looked over HTC's official support pages for the HD2, and I don't seen any new updates of any type, not that recently anyway. If you have the link you can PM it to me and I'll check it out real quick and see if it's 1) valid, and 2) ok to post here.

K thanks Jimmy, I looked over the thread you sent from t-mobile's forums, and there's no problem posting the link here as far as I know (I'll post it below myself, just in case). But after reading it all I also couldn't find anything more substantial than just what that one member was reporting...which was just mostly that he'd seen "something" on HTC's site related to an update, that was supposedly later pulled down.
I'll note too that any updates for the US T-Mobile version of the HD2 wouldn't come from HTC's site anyway, they're only ever released (officially) through the T-Mobile support page for the phone. So, it's quite possible that even if there IS an update about to be released, it might only be for the euro version of the phone...and since official ROM updates always include a radio, it would likely be incompatible with the US model (i.e. it would brick any one that it was flashed to).
Here's the T-Mobile thread it was mentioned in:

Just wanted to make sure folks here had heard the latest...look for the last post by a Sprint admin in the "3G Upload Capped?" thread (page 36 of the official Epic 4G forum at Sprint.com).
Sorry, I'd post a link but because I'm considered a noob here still, this site won't let me.

just post the update here with quotes, that way I can see if it's the same one I saw a few days ago and saw in a thread here
Well, Desi (Sprint Admin) first replies on page 35 after a bunch of us are ranting about this issue, saying:
"Wanted to let you know that the fix is still in process and I will update this thread as soon as I have a release date.
Also, I just accidentally deleted several posts (meant to remove only one, but removed it and all it's replies)...so if you have one missing (for no apparent reason), please accept my apology!"
Then after a few folks ask what exactly the issue is and how are they fixing it, Desi replies again on page 36 with:
"I don't have any specifics on the fix...only that it's a software change and will be released asap."

A couple posts down someone quoted him, I'm too lazy to find the OP.
So please stop asking.

Thanks for starting a new thread spamming it again. You've posted this a few times and your source is some guy claiming another vietnamese guy in a video told him. While I am sure it probably will be Tegra 2, your "evidence" is weak.
Chill dude. I'm annoyed by so many people asking. I just pointed this out, 'cause it may be helpful...
I have already told you that the same guy later said that although the website fellow claimed it to be tegra 2, the reviewer had no clue whether it was tegra or not.
The links I have given are far more adequate proof but still not completely reliable.
The above link is like a 20% proof, nothing more!
pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2383718,00.asp
They claim otherwise. The truth is, nobody knows until Samsung announces it. Some random guy who got to play with one at a trade show definitely isn't going to know for sure. Just because he touched it, doesn't mean that is the version that is shipping. Let alone in every country.

I dont know about the rest of you but im quickly getting sick and tired of stupid threads like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1754857
and this

Unless Samsung and/or SamMobile have issued a statement, when you find blogs like the ones in the above threads DONT COME HERE AND POST THAT RUBBISH!
When you see blogs like that follow this procedure:
1. Check Samsung's Official Facebook page: http://facebook.com/SamsungMobile and their UK page: http://facebook.com/SamsungMobileUK
2. Check SamMobile: http://www.sammobile.com/
If these links dont prove whats written in whatever rubbish blog you get these statements from, DO NOT POST A DAMN THREAD!!!
Sorry, but im just sick of all these fake announcements.
AMEN!

I can say only one thing to that: AMEN Brother !!!
Also getting very sick of all those n00bs who are even allowed to make a new thread! I say that the XDA devs take their responsability and let only recognized Devs allowed to post a new Thread
Yes all we want from those people posting these kind of stupid news is
KEEP CALM & SFTU !!
Instead of making yet another thread, WITH CAPS AND EXCLAMATION MARKS !!!, just report the idiots who do it. I must report 10 threads a day, and they're swiftly dealt with.
Sad history bro... Unfortunately, the only trustable news is the one we want. On those threads, you may not like the news but you can't say they are false. Even SamMobile can be wrong, as they were wrong in a lot of stuff. The only really TRUSTABLE source is directly from Samsung. Maybe it's true that the SGII won't get JellyBean? Maybe. I don't know. YOU don't know. SamMobile doesn't know. Samsung knows. SamMobile got right on the 4.0.4 thing but just because you can only have two answers: will and won't. What if they didn't know anything about and got luckly right? So if they can't post a thread like "SGII won't get JB", you can't post a thread like "SGII will get JB". You can post if you say it's confirmed by SAMSUNG.
Resuming all, I disagree.

Hello All,
Looks like as of 8/25 T-Mobile released another update for the OP8 10.5.20. Has this fixed any of the previous issues with the 10.5.17 update? Anyone seeing anything different?
@mammothjojo88 Thanks for starting this thread...
I still cant get either update. I just MSM'ed back and nothing. I got the 10.5.10 update and that is it. Very frustrated right now.

In Fargo ND.
Just checked again, its 3:09AM CST. They say check back after midnight. Its after midnight. Im very fustrated with the last two updates. As soon as I MSM'ed back I got nothing except the obligatory 10.5.10 update.
I just saw this article about T-Mobile 5G come up on my Google feed. Very interesting, it otherwise says that T-Mobile 5G is b******t. I could have told people that as soon as it launched, lol. AS soon as they merged with Sprint everything went to hell for data speeds.
