Instead of the new exchange service for hotmail I want to delete the account that i have right now. I entered the mailprogram choose the account that i want to delete (i have 2 accounts, one exchange from work and one hotmail). I tap the hotmail account and hold it for several seconds but there wont disappear a menu. Does anyone know how to remove a hotmail account so i can make a new one with exchange?

Where do I delete the Email-account I just created just for testing..?
in message menu, click menu then tools then options.
From there select the account to delete and then keep holding down on it till you get the pop up menu, select delete.
deleting exchange email account?
I set up an exchange account, but then I decided I wanted to delete it so I could set up the webmail account instead. I have no trouble deleting a gmail account, but for the exchange/outlook account it won't let me remove it. Any advice or suggestions? I'm tech retarded so if anybody has any suggestions, can they write it so a 12 year old could figure it out? Thanks!
Figured it out!!!
If you're having trouble deleting an exchange account... try this... worked for me:
Start-> Programs-> active sync ... from there, delete your account and it should auto delete it from your email accounts too. Good luck!

I have a similar issue, I set up a "hotmail" account that uses windows live, and even if I set the windows live scheduler to "manual" it still keeps connecting and syncing the phone.
I want to remove the hotmail account setup completely (I have 2 gmail accounts set up perfectly happily), but the "delete" option in Messaging > Options (where all the accounts are displayed), is always greyed out.
Unlike Outlook accounts, the Hotmail account is NOT available via Active Sync, so I can't get at it that way.
Can I remove this account by editing the registry??
AHA!! - I think I just did it! Go into Windows Live, select "Switch Accounts", and then on the first part of setting up a new account, hit the "Reject" button. Windows live disconnects the old account first, by the looks of it.

Is there a way to setup 2 exchange accounts? I had an iPhone before I switched to the HD2 and had downloaded an application which allowed me to configure more than 1 exchange account. I would like to have my work and Gmail setup as exchange push. Is it possible?
Hi 94loranger
It is possible to do two exchange accounts with the HD2 but I'm not sure about two lots of e-mail. I'll give you an example, we have a shared account for our company appointments and one for our own e-mail and contacts. On my HD2 I have 2 exchange accounts, one to the shared calendar and one to my work e-mail. I also have an IMAP account specified for my own personal e-mail server.
To get the two exchange accounts setup you have to get the sequence right or it doesn't work. Also once you have done this activesync / mobile device centre will show an error every time you connect as they can only cope with a single exchange account. It doesn't stop you from accessing the phone though my computer though.
Starting with a new phone, no accounts setup tap Start -> Tools -> Active Sync. Then tap menu -> new server. Enter the details for your exchange server and when you get to the final screen un-check the items you don't want to sync for this account. In my setup I un-checked everything except the calendar. Complete the wizard and let it sync.
Once this is done tap Start -> E-Mail. Tap the "Setup E-Mail" option and follow it though. If you opt to setup another exchange count. You will only be able to synchronise the items you didn't select when setting up the account through active sync wizard. For my setup this accounts does the e-mail, contacts and tasks. Complete the wizard and let it sync.
You can go back to Start -> E-Mail and setup any other POP or IMAP accounts you need.
I hope this give you some clues as to how you want to achieve what you want. I found the clues on a website somewhere, just can't remember where
Take care,
Ryan
I will try to set it up that way and see if it works. Thanks
So, I had no trouble getting my email accounts up on WP7, (one Echange, one POP3).
My question is: Where do I go to tell outlook to NOT remove my email from the POP3 account when it downloads new mail?
Hi,
can someone help me, please?
I´m running mdj cm7 version 2.6 on my euro hd2.
I set up two accounts on my android email app:
1. exchange-account
2. gmail account
Every time i open my email app, it first opens the exchange account. Then i changed my gmail account to my default account - but still it opens the exchange-account, when i start the email app.
How can i fix this? I want to open the default account (now my gmail, formerly the exchange) first.
I know i can change the accounts by pressing the button in the upper right corner, but that is not the way i want.
(Is it possible to allways open the "all mails" - both accounts in one view for default?)
Hi There!
I want to configure my wife's Defy so she can get email from her gmail account.
I don't want it to be pop3, as I don't want to remove any of the messages from her gmail account, as she also gets her email via pop3 on her Desktop Outlook?
I see 2 different gmail options on her phone, is it an option to get some form of sync'd account or perhaps is Imap the only other option?
Cheers
You might have to enable IMAP in your Gmail account preferences, but you can also use POP3 and configure it to not delete the messages on the server.
Also from my experience the default mail application works better than the gmail one which is slow and doesn't always show latest messages to me.

Yah I am finding it hard to believe there isn't some form of activesync syncing option.
