I'm using Mattc Leo Froyo 1.5b + ChckDroidrom and a cannot connect to my router NETGEAR WNR 3500 using WIFI -N 145Mbps or 300Mbps.
I always connect with 54Mbps or 72Mpbs and the performance of my connection sucks! I get better results with 3G.
I try changing a registry HKLM\Comm\BCMSDDHD1\Parms\11nModeDisable from 1 to 0 on WinMo but nothing changed.
For Example:
WinMo WIFI = transfer rate is some like 6000 kbps
Froyo WIFI = transfer rate is some like 50 kbps
Froyo 3G = transfer rate is some like 900 kbps
Can anyone connect with froyo 2.2 on WIFI N?
Can anyone know how to get better performance on WIFI connection?
That's because the Hd2 is only WiFi b /g not N.

I have a vibrant that is unable to find a wifi network broadcasted by my rooted Eris with xtrSense 3.1. I have used the latest wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre4.apk and the one from market. Nothing works.
Also tried barnacle wifi tether. Any of you experiencing such issue ?
I have tried an iphone 3gs, which works fine on Eris' wifi.

Android by default cant use adhoc networks, so its not gonna work until someone modifies the kernel
that's a bummer, so will I never be able to use wifi on vibrant from my eris ? or can the wifi tether app be updated to get it to work ?
I am using my nexus one with cyanogen rc1 2.2 froyo rom using built in wifi tethering to tether to captivate and it works perfectly.

hmm, what is different in vibrant then ?
the wifi tether in your eris is adhoc and the one from froyo is infrastruture (mobile Hotspot).

i see. So if I get one of the froyo ROMs, then the vibrant will probably work.

You are probably using a PPP build, try using one which has RMNET. (I believe Hyperdroid is RMNET, but it's not Sense).
I see... is there any sense builds that are not PPP?

I'm not a fan of Sense so I'm not really sure. Maybe HyperdroidSense is, but it's not the most actively maintained build. Just check through all the build threads, it should be mentioned (though some don't..).
Question, I haven't got internet set up yet at my new place and I want to set up my wife's laptop for tethering off my aria, cm6.1 rc1 so just wondering what driver I need to install to get the tethering to work. It works on my desktop but I've never had my phone hooked up to her laptop. Any help with this is greatly appreciated...

Having issues with wifi and tethering?
What ive noticed on the native tethering app in CM7 or Decks, you need to load a webpage or use data on your phone for it to route an IP address for the connected devices. Ive noticed on the Wireless Tether app, it works instantly. Though, using the native method you most often have to do what I stated above.
So you couldn't post this in the deck development thread. How do we expect people to be able to fix their phones when they don't post in the proper sections.

He can't post in that forum due to the same reason I can't. Not enough posts. I've been using Deck's rom for awhile now and have had my own issues but can't post on that forum until I have at least 10 posts.
Just try the new CM7 nightly, its Android 2.3.5 and everything is working great, even GPS lol

Ive been using Decks roms since Alpha but CM7 has been updating quicker and Decks is only a slimmed down version of Cm7... No matter what anyone says
Use the built in tethering. In setting/wireless/tethering. Works perfect.
The wifi tethering app will work for some things and not others. I also use the built in one.
I keep getting "error" with built
wifi garden:
activating wifi interface...failed
setting ad-hoc mode...failed
setting essid...failed
setting channel...failed
enabling NAT rules...done
enabling IP forwarding...done
tethering now running...done
....that's my show log

Im on decks latest, I had problems using wifi tether from the market, I use vaelpak wifi tether
Vaelpak
http://db.tt/peQ7Hue
Also make a folder on the root of your sd card if you dont have it name it "android.tether" and place this file in it
http://db.tt/R5Jm34d
Works for me on deck and cm7

My AOSP tethering experiences FWIW
I am running a similar AOSP GB ROM (OMGB 1.2, 2.3.4 build) and while the tethering works, I am experiencing the following:
Using native tethering it creates an infrastructure network, although it takes a while to establish connection as a previous poster pointed out.
Using Wireless Tether 2.0.7, it connects instantly, but it is an ad hoc network.
Hi guys,
I dont know if this has been discussed somewhere but below is how to fix the slow wifi issue on our devices running L:
Set wifi router security to TKIP and done!

Tried a while back. Didn't work for me. If you have your router set to wpa/wpa2 you can use this app to force only that one device down to tkip:
