I really don't understand how it's possible that people have some of the stuff they have. I just tried to attack someone at the same level as me (level 12) and he has over 1000 supply depots, 107 bunkers, 426 refineries, 35 guard towers, 451 weapons factories, 27 anti aircraft, and 49 power plants. To put into perspective, I have 4 depots, 5 bunkers, 3 refineries, 1 barracks, and 2 guard towers.
Is there some kind of cheat that people are using, are they just spending a bunch of real money on honor points to get more money in game. The thing is, it's not just that one person, everybody seems to have a ton of units and buildings.
2700 honor points is $149.99, 10 honor points gets you $6500 in-game, so if you were to buy those points and use them to get money in game you would get $17,550,000. The first power plant costs $4mil (each one you buy, the price increases). But just to make a point, I'll say they all cost $4mil, so (in the example above) his 49 power plants would cost $196,000,000. That means, if he were using real money to get in-game money, he would have to spend over $18,000 in order to get enough honor points to buy just the power plants. There has to be some kind of cheat that these people are using.

XDA 2 for 20 pounds!!

Hi There,
I have found a website that has a matrix wait list for xda 2's, you join a list by buying three ebooks for 20 great british pounds, this puts your name on a list and when the list becomes full the person with there name at the top of the list gets the phone, and you move up. It takes time but you get the phone in the end. Its not only Xda's they have laptops and lots of other phones too. If you are intrested please e-mail me at
[email protected]
and i will be happy to pass on the information.
The phone is sim free and open to any network, please feel free to e-mail me if you are intrested and hope this allows people to enjoy the brilliance that is the xda 2.
Just wondering....Why not to pass on the info. in here?! What's the difference
There are several of these schemes around - just variations on the old and very illegal pyramid schemes. They work if you get in at the start - otherwise you just wait and wait until they go bust or the DTI shut them down. I got in at the start of one in the mid 90's and earn't a lot of money, but the wait for a return got longer and longer and them the DTI shut it down after only 9 months. How long has this one been going?
As xda-rocks stated these are pyramid schemes
One such site is http://www.mobiles4all.com/
Plenty of talk about them in the usenet newsgroups uk.telecom.mobile
HTH
Mark
The site is fairly new and is www.pjelectricals.co.uk , the original reason i didnt put it up was i was hoping if people emailed me they could put me down as there referral when they sign up, this moves my name up the list quicker. I am currently number 25 on the list.
So if anyone decides to go for this could you please put down
Charles John Grant as your referral.please.
I had to buy this information of ebay. The site is fairly new as all the lists are still pretty short for all the products. Its worth a look.
I dont want to sound like im sayings its a scam...
But it is. A good friend of mine payed his £20 to that site back in February, he ordered one of the cheaper phones and reached the top of the list within a couple of weeks..
He still doesnt have his phone or £20 back. He never even got the free CD-ROM that was meant to come in the post..
The moral of the story. Its a pyramid scheme, you send in your money and get nothing back in return. Sorry. Dont fall for these types of scam in future, and certainly dont bid for links on sites like eBay.
( i just hope it works for you ! )
Thanks i hope it works for me too. I appreciate your your opinion but maybe im living in false hope but i have been emailing a guy who has an XDA 2 from the site. I'll let you know if it doesnt or does work, maybe im living in false hope but ignorance is bliss.

We need to talk about bridges. Bridges are great investments. Forget phones: we're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars in pure profit, practically overnight.
I too put £20 into one of these get a free laptop schemes a few years back, i was number 4 on the list and after about 5 months of waiting the emails stopped comming in telling me my list position and about 2 weeks after that the site dissaperared without a trace and with my money,
You have to be very lucky if you do get anything through these schemes, I'd say that unless your in position 1 or 2 the list is likely to be shut down before you get anything

Issue 13116: Change refund time in Market. 15min is way to little.

Issue 13116: Change refund time in Market. 15min is way to little.
Seriously? Are you effing nuts?
If your app has real value (apart from impulse marketing geared to fleece the sheep) why would you want to put customers in an all or nothing situation where they are likely to be less prone to purchase due to bad user experience (from both poorly developed apps as well as user error)?
This policy will ultimately cheapen the market & undermine user confidence.
Real developers will suffer from the fast fix sugar daddies that seek to take the money & run leaving the users with no recourse other than disgust at being taken advantage of.
This is no way to run a business & I'm appalled that Google would get behind this in any form or fashion.
At the very least, let the developer decide how long the refund time should be & allow the buyer to pick between those who stand behind their work & the fast fix dope pushers.
Crap, is there no way to edit a poll title after initial submission? WTF?
Can a mod please edit this for me? TIA!
Poll should read: Will you be less likely to trust & buy apps w/ a 15 min. refund policy?
Yeah, it is far too low. It should be up to the developer to set the refund time (between 15mins and 24hours).
15mins is stupid, i've never used an app that could be fully evaluated in 15 minutes.
Funny how 6 voters say they have no concerns about a 15 minute return/refund policy without posting a defense for said policy.
I'm gonna guess that they have a weighted interest in screwing customers out of money with poorly developed apps.
/just sayin
I personally think a 15 minute policy is fine for certain apps but other need a much longer amount of time. I think google should just allow the developers to choose the time period for a refund on an app to app basis.
You have a 24H refund period or did they change it?
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
15 minutes is better than nothing.
Apple users seem to cope with no refund at all just fine.
Besides, you talk like developers are out to screw people over.
"Funny how 6 voters say they have no concerns about a 15 minute return/refund policy without posting a defense for said policy.

/just sayin"
I can see how this might be a concern because our market isn't as regulated as the walled garden, but come on. Good people still exist in the world, believe it or not.
(I own no Apple products.. I use a dinc with CM 6.1 btw )
I spend a healthy sum on apps on a regular basis (close to $100 this month alone) & firmly believe in supporting the fruit of any honest development that enriches my user experience. With the large migration of new users to the Android platform we've all seen & experienced the issues of learning.. or not in some cases.
Take any good app on the Market and read the reviews, "Doesn't work!", "Useless!". Really? In most cases I'd guess this is more than likely someone who hasn't read the instructions, "misconfigured" the app, struggling with platform fragmentation or has a sketchy install. It often takes users more than 15 minutes to simply work their way through learning/configuring an app.
If this 15 minute policy is implemented I'm afraid we will begin to see an even more rampant piracy issue than already exists.
A potential buyer will opt to "try out" a hacked version prior to purchase & possibly get a flawed app that doesn't work or one that does & then fail to purchase it.
This isn't good for the platform, Market, developer or user.
Edit: 9 votes for this & still nothing resembling a reasonable argument on your behalf... cowards.
Agree'd on the piracy thing. I have returned only 1 app out of 50+ purchases that force closed upon install, the rest of my apps were returned well after 15 minutes, finding force closes during regular use or false advertising of a feature.
I can see how this will lead people to "try out" things as they do now with music and movies...
I agree that 24 hours is possibly too long but I think the developers should be able to set their own time frames, even if there is no time frame at all, as long as it's their choice.
As a developer, I see no reason for a 15 minute refund policy. If you've made a solid app and you're honest, you have no reason to "hide" behind a short refund policy; I think 24 hours is reasonable.
What I do and really haven't seen done in the app market, is to provide a free demo version. The demo is sclaed down (for example a 100 row database vs. 100,000 rows or the inability to save data). Granted, this may be hard to do for some apps just due to the nature of the beast.
Then if the user likes what get, they can buy a full version with the caveat that there will be no return policy.

Yes they are changing it.
Android Market to Receive Update Soon
* New categories for Widgets and Live Wallpapers
* Filter for different screen resolutions
* Apps maximum size increased to 50MB (first 25MB)
* Refund must occur 15 minutes after installment instead of 24 hours
* A “related apps” feature

16 Yes to 12 No
And still not one good argument from the 12 no's?
Don't be scared, step up & defend your vote or I'll consider it null & void.
I agree with others that it should be left up to the developer, but I do think that 24 hours is too long in most cases, and in some case I think a refund shouldn't be offered at all.
I can't think of a specific example right now but if there was an app that does one task that the developer charges, and there are no free alternitves, then a person could by the app use it and then get a refund
I could also see 24 hours being way to long in the case of some games. You buy the game finish it in one day and then get your money back.
In these cases the developer is being cheated and it is likely worst than piracy because a pirate would probably never buy the app in the first place, where someone that bought it used it and returned it found the app useful enough to at least spend money on it.
Then again users should be able to get a refund on broken apps
They should let the developers set their own timer, so developers can set a game to 15 minutes and other useful apps to 1 or 2 hours or a whole day.

I'm seeing more and more devs doing trial versions. Gentlealarm might of been the first I saw. Originally the trial wouldn't work on Wednesdays.
As for the return policy, definitely too short at 15 minutes.

we're lucky we even get refunds at all. I had an iPhone for 2 years, no refunds from the AppStore.....
I personally think a 24 hour return window just allows people to buy and return games after they're done playing and THAT hurts developers.
What should be done is make it HARDER to publish CRAP to the market making the need for returns unnecessary.
Wow are you trying to have a discussion or bully people into what you believe? "I'll consider your votes null and void" "blah blah devs only want fifteen minutes because they wanna scam people" at least you get fifteen minutes. Go buy an iPhone and complain to them about not getting the option at all. You'll realize the majority don't care.
Read reviews before you buy something, because while some of them might be people that don't know wtf they are doing, if the app is worth buying someone will buy it before you, and someone will give it a try with the correct settings, and chances are someone will do this while having your phone. Returning an app after playing with it extensively is no better for a developer than returning it within fifteen minutes because either way they make nothing off of it.
Iphones have no return policy, they seem to get along just fine. I don't see the Blackberry app world with a return policy either, devs just put up trial versions of the app. Oh the App Catalog? Hmm doesn't seem to have a return policy either. I have a Tour 9630, a Palm Pre Plus and an Droid Incredible, so you can't call me an Apple lover, a BB fanboi or a Palm hater. I personally don't care what the limit is, I'm open to letting the devs decide on a limit if anything, but I just really don't like the way you're going about this "poll".

Is a game that you can beat in under 15 min or even 24 hr even worth purchasing? I'm no dev... but i believe that someone making games will undoubtedly try to develop a game that lasts for more than a few hours unless they are just out to make a quick buck... Isn't that why the refund policy is there in the first place? 15 min is a joke... might as well just take the entire refund policy away.
"done playing" does not mean "finished the game" lol
I don't think I've played all the way through a single game on a phone ever, except for Game Dev Story on my iPhone, which I played for 18 hours straight one weekend. I definitely got the full effect of that game and haven't really played it since, and if it had been for Android I could have returned it and gotten my money back.....
To the Devs who refuse to offer an ad-supported version of your apps: Google cutting the refund time to 15 minutes is why I'm not buying any more of your apps.
15 minutes is not anywhere near an adequate amount of time to evaluate a product and I refuse to be burned and stuck with a bill for a POS app that doesn't work right, doesn't do what it claims to do, or causes problems or conflicts that may not appear for several hours of usage.
If you offer an ad-supported version, I'll use that for a trial. If you don't, oh well. Your loss.
That, or you can tell Google to pull their heads out of their collective ass.

This is the best drawing app!

Hi
I just want to share this amazing software named Tvpaint Still is in beta but it has advanced tools. The Note is perfect for this software.
Download
This is an app from hell. I haven't seen the desktop version but, for sure looks like a full OS application on Android to me...
IMO, looks really complicated for the simple tools needed for sketching and drawing...
Secondly, if this app makes a full debut, I don't think this app will be cheap. The full desktop version costs around $500 bucks, so we'll see. The app has a time-bomb so it's only useable to November 30th (I think).

This app is my main workhorse for now, but I'm also not too hopeful on the price after it comes out of beta. Good chance I'll just make do w/ SKM and LayerPaint on my Note, w/ CS5 on my desktop to handle the remaining heavy lifting. Adobe really dropped the ball on PS Touch for this device.

You say all of this like a critic--- an artist ( like this one<----) spends nearly 70-90% of their income on supplies to 'create', or to breathe life into their vision--- case in point: I spent my last paycheck on this device on Monday. So I'm eating beans and rice for two weeks, so what? This is the first production-level mobile device available. Certainly superior to iPad.
Too complicated??? Do you not see it's animation software? I'd buy this app even it it were $50-$100. It may very well be one of the first 'full-OS' applications on android. Celebrate, don't complain!
And useable till Feb 2013....

Will post first project once I get through the learning curve.

One thread in a forum I read suggest that it will cost $500+. It seems you buy a license for one install per all supported OS's. Example purchase of one license allows one copy on a mac desktop and one more on an ubuntu laptop. So if you already own a windows, mac or linux version you would get the android for free. When pushed for an answer the guy representing TVpaint was not much help. I read this a little while ago things may have changed since then.

I'm sorry if you thought I was jelly pooping all over the thread. I was just mentioning the fact that this is not an app; this is a full desktop software application on Android. I'm pretty sure this will be a really good app for the professional (like you). I assume that you do art work for some sort of living...

It'd be great to see an animation app with the simplicity of Corell Painter.
Not a hater here, just all I saw in your post was "not good enough"---hence the Eeyore comment. Lets be friends, mKay?
I make enough to scrape by, but yes, my artistic/creative endeavours fund my meager existence. The curve is steep on tvpaint, and it'd be tough to swing a $500 software purchase, so I'll get what I can done with it while its in beta.
Checking out layerpaint
GT-P6800
GT-N8013
A single user license for TVPaint is 1180 € (~$1500) for the Pro edition and 495 € (~$640) for the standard edition. Students can get a discount.
Since the app seems to want to fully emulate the desktop version, you might assume that they'd use the same pricing for an Android app. I'm not so sure of this - they could well introduce all-new pricing for mobile - but it's a possibility. I wouldn't however bet that you would get it for less than a couple of hundred.

I remember reading this a few days back and thinking this won't make any difference.
Sony has to ask themselves why a developer would dedicate time and resources to their market place when there is already one with a substantially bigger audience to target? What does this one offer that others do not? The Playstation brand still has some clout with people but it doesn't have the level I think required to push Playstation Mobile (as is) on a mass scale.
Sony should look at investing more of their own time and resources before they come to expect it of developers. They should add PS Classics currently wasted on the Vita to drum up some initial interest in the concept, and obviously they can't rely on past games forever so they should lead by example and launch some new kickass titles themselves.
I was interested in Playstation Mobile before launch but what I've seen thus far does not interest me.
I added this to the comments on the link in post 1.
Gun Commando is the only decent game there, the rest are junk in my opinion. Installed PSM on my PLAY for about 2 weeks and deleted it. Here s a good move Sony, drop the damn $5 increments when you buy a game. I had $2 and wanted to buy a game that was $3. Sony makes you pay $5 so you then have $7, then if you dont spend it Sony still has your money. Its freaking horse sh!t and robbery of the worst kind. Shame on you $ony.
Perhaps its a bit harsh but the fact they take $5 increments only is robbery. Who wants to dump $5 just to get $2 for a game.... its asinine. In the world of the anti-christ in American Dad - "Smell my a$$"...... sorry just PSM was a huge let down, was looking forward to it and I dont even look at it... terrible. Although I do appreciate a certain member here in XDA XP who updated the thread for PSM each week.
It's going to be interesting, seeing as Sony doesn't allow free games (well, they must have DLC) on the store. While I agree on the audience front, I've enjoyed PSM development in a language I understand well and can take part as a hobby. Somehow, my silly Snake remake has sold over 700 copies!
PSM does have its flaws (no trophies/leaderboards/auto updates) but the messages coming out of Sony suggest they aren't giving up on it yet. However, in my opinion making the dev license free may not have the effect Sony expected; yes there will be an explosion in games but it's a question of quality (I'm not saying Snake is amazing, it has no sound and I'm still supporting it, but it's 79p) and whether Sony is going to actually support the platform.

I know the feeling. I was prepared to pay the $830 but when I looked today I grabbed one for $625.
People don't think about it, but 40,000 devices for $32,000,000 is $800 per device. Every one they sell less than that they're losing money on.

I think there's a lot of people thinking this. Once it gets closer to the required amount and its a more feasible possibility that the phone will actually be made there will be more people to jump on board. That's what I was thinking until I found out that the funders got a refund if it didn't meet the goal. Once I knew that then I jumped on because I don't want people not buying the device because they're waiting for the number to get higher. There just isn't much logic behind that when you'll either get the phone or a full refund. The longer you wait, the more you risk having to pay more for the device.

Yep - I jumped on board too $32million is a big target though - hopefully when it beats the pebble smartwatch funding record ($10mil) people will take it more seriously.

Fortunately there seem to be lots of good samaritans that are pledging lower amounts for no reward - basically subsidising the phone for the rest of us!

True. I am grateful for those people. I was going to be one but after thinking about it for a day (and seeing the reduced price) I couldn't resist.

Every little bit helps. If this phone gets funded then they'll release another next year that maybe you can jump on. If this phone doesn't get made then there's no knowing how long it'll take for a device like this to be made again.

Would it be against XDA policy to make a thread such as this in the Android and Windows Phone general sections? I didn't think of it till you mentioned it, but just because its in those threads doesn't mean people aren't interested. We're not forcing the phone on anyone, just wanting to bring it to light. I've used all of my social networking connections to promote this device.

Paid 860 dollars and got 205 dollars in discount the day after. Win
If they're not far from making it by the last days, I can give them the 205 dollars to make sure they go through with it. 830+30 dollars is still a good price for that phone.
