Hacre's FroydVillian is based on CM6?
Im guessing FroydVillain 1.5 will incoorporate all the changes made to CM6 Final.

FroydVillain works with CM6 in both directions, so hacre's progress goes upstream, and theirs comes down. Not sure which version it will be, but it will happen, im pretty sure of that.

I can recommend FroydVillain v1.4.4 - solved all my problems. It's has everything CM6 nightlies have and everything seems to work (camera, no stalls, gps etc):

First install requires 5 zip files to go from 1.4.0 to v1.4.4

Actually, a great deal of what hit CM6 final is already in 1.4.4. Most of the changes a day or two prior to final were language stuff mostly.
But yes, FV 1.5 will be level with CM6 final where it matters, there have been some bugs upstream that we fixed and punted back to CM as well, as pulser said it hasn't just been one way traffic.
FroydVillain is based on the CM tree, likely always will be, they do great stuff as do Team Villain and it's great being able to collaborate with CM. However if you look at my github you'll see there's plenty of forks as well, with my own changes, fixes from AOSP/master, etc.

FroydVillain even has an newer version of Gmail than I've been able to get for CM6.

we need it for install Flash Player

There are already roms available based on CM6 beta nightly builds. This time around experimental releases are in better shape than most full releases from the past IMHO.
It's just arrived on the g1 forum, so hopefully some kind individual will give us the 32a port soon.

For now, you can use briancrook port for 32A (it comes from nightly builds)

It works but it has a problem with the market, it FC after installing an app.
The rest works like a charm, faster than 2.1

I encourage someone to correct me if I'm mistaken... but I think that by doing that you just reverted your kernel to an older version.
Is your kernel 2.6.34? If not then you just failed.
It may be running just "fine" but you are still lacking some 2.2 Froyo.
Oh... and I'm going to move this to General because no one is posting a ROM like the OP is requesting. This is for DEVELOPMENT, not Q&A.

You can find it in G1 Rom Development forum. It's 6.0.0 RC1 (Release Candidate)
I'm using it with my 32A (hong kong version) 12 hours ago.... very stable. For 32A port, just follow bcrook88 in Twitter or find it in the G1 thread

I don't see how it will be any better than a nightly. If RC1 gets released tonight, it is nothing but yesterday's nightly + a few patches.

It just means that the code has progressed to the point where Cyanogen considers it to be RC1... from the last night's build it's running a lot better than the previous, most of the apps in the market are showing up now, and it just feels snappier.
What were you expecting?
Here is what I am expecting :
1. Now that it is stable true refinements can begin and that we can start tracking issues
2. One step closer to a final release

I would like my FM radio and wimax to work... but I'll still run CM6 with out it.
Couple of CM6 questions...
Questions:
I have full NAND root and flashed the stock rooted ROM... been waiting for a super stable CM6 with everything working (well, except for wimax). Couple of questions before i proceed:
- Is it necessary to flash the radios that comes with the CM6 builds? The radio I have now seems to be working fine and if it ain't broke, don't fix it right?
- How do I flash GAPPS? Just download the zip and flash it just like a ROM?
- Why doesn't cyanogen just package the gapps with the CM6 build... does this have something to do with his cyanogen project agreement with Google?
- When I do a NAND backup, does it include the radios?
Thanks!
Just a question. If his latest build was the rc, would it show up under a different name in a different place other than here http://mirror.kanged.net/cm/nightly/supersonic/? His newest build still has the same name progression as the nightly's.

It's not an RC by ANY reasonable standard unless it's actually a release candidate. Release candidates don't have things broken. This release canidate would have 4g broken.
CM needs to hold himself to a higher standard. None of the CM6 rcs are actually RCs, and I really do not know why he is calling them that.

No, this is a build that started from AOSP. However, some of the fixes and few features have been derived from the CyanogenMod Team, including the CM kernel.

Totally sweet. Now you just need a 1.2 bootloader version. ;-)
I clicked on the gtab development section, saw Evervolv, and thought I accidentally went to evo development instead lol. Can't wait to try this out!
you really should indicate whether this is a 1.1 bootloader rom, or a 1.2 bootloader rom. it will alleviate many future problems that people have if they are flashing from the wrong bootloader.
it's only responsible to do so.
what bootloader do i need for install this rom
1.1 or 1.2
One of the slickest U.I.'s I have seen but most browsers and market quickly shuts down. I hope this can be fixed.

If you are using the following roms then you are still on BL 1.1
-Vegan froyo and GB
-Caulkin
-Tnt lite 4x or below- As I understand it, the version of tnt-lite that's on BL 1.2 is called Mountain Laurel now so anything else should still be BL 1.1. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.
-CM7
- All the CM7 variants
- Stock Rom 3588 and below
There's not that many ROMs that use BL 1.2 yet. Roebeets newer roms including Bottle of Smoke and Clemsyns combo with Roebeets BoS.
If you still have questions or I didn't list the rom you are on, I suggest reading the thread where you downloaded your rom...just to be safe.

Is anyone else have trouble opening a browser (other than Opera, which is the only one that seems to work with this ROM)? How about Market, which also closes as soon as it tries to load the list of apps...??? If these issues can't be fixed it will be a shame because this is the most visually appealing ROM outside of Honeycomb.

[ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the Samsung Captivate :: V7.1.0-RC1 (26 June 2011)

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
This version is a release candidate, but you will find it stable for everyday use.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Instructions:

Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
Perform a factory reset.
Flash CyanogenMod.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package
Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 7?
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
Flash CyanogenMod (your Google Apps will be backed up & restored automatically).
Issues?
Experience issues? Please provide the following info:
If the device was hard reboot, please provide the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
If the device was soft reboot or is "bootlooping", please run a logcat and provide the full output.

the difference between RC and nightlies is RC is considered (mostly) stable and users are allowed to post issues/bugs to the issue tracker. nightlies will never be allowed to post, but even RC1 users can. nightlies will continue to be built between stable releases (there will continue being nightlies after RC1/before RC2... and after RC2/before RC3--if there is an RC3--until the final stable build is released) until there is no longer a use for nightlies.

don't forget to backup /efs folder everyone. this fried my efs folder on the first install and i had to recover it from backup. working great now though with no /efs issues.

From what I know Buzz has never been dropped from CM7. There haven't been enough capacities to do the nightly builds for a while.
Buzz will never get any official CM9 support though as CM9 simply is made for devices with better hardware capabilities

Regarding your problems with CM7 versions: it definitely must be on your side as most of the people don't seem to have issues with CM7 (including me). For me it's pretty stable.
What problems are you facing? Any error messages? What exactly doesn't work?
