I don't see how it will be any better than a nightly. If RC1 gets released tonight, it is nothing but yesterday's nightly + a few patches.

It just means that the code has progressed to the point where Cyanogen considers it to be RC1... from the last night's build it's running a lot better than the previous, most of the apps in the market are showing up now, and it just feels snappier.
What were you expecting?
Here is what I am expecting :
1. Now that it is stable true refinements can begin and that we can start tracking issues
2. One step closer to a final release

I believe you're going to get that with a RC release.
I would like my FM radio and wimax to work... but I'll still run CM6 with out it.
Couple of CM6 questions...
Questions:
I have full NAND root and flashed the stock rooted ROM... been waiting for a super stable CM6 with everything working (well, except for wimax). Couple of questions before i proceed:
- Is it necessary to flash the radios that comes with the CM6 builds? The radio I have now seems to be working fine and if it ain't broke, don't fix it right?
- How do I flash GAPPS? Just download the zip and flash it just like a ROM?
- Why doesn't cyanogen just package the gapps with the CM6 build... does this have something to do with his cyanogen project agreement with Google?
- When I do a NAND backup, does it include the radios?
Thanks!
Just a question. If his latest build was the rc, would it show up under a different name in a different place other than here http://mirror.kanged.net/cm/nightly/supersonic/? His newest build still has the same name progression as the nightly's.

From what i read in the git, it looks like he is taking the next nightly to rc1. The code was committed about an hour ago, not sure when the automated nightly ran....

There's also a new video's shortcut on the home list page thing. Camera actually uses the entire screen while previewing; can't really tell any difference with recording video. Seems a bit snappier too, but it could just be in my head lol.

- he says you have to have the latest, but someone better qualified could probably answer this better
-yep
-google made him pull roms b/c the google stuff isnt open source. this is the workaround
-no, once you flash a radio its there
It's not an RC by ANY reasonable standard unless it's actually a release candidate. Release candidates don't have things broken. This release canidate would have 4g broken.
CM needs to hold himself to a higher standard. None of the CM6 rcs are actually RCs, and I really do not know why he is calling them that.

Agree with this
He isnt working on a dump, wont start working on a 2.2 rom till they drop to aosp which makes this pretty much a non starter. However whenever he does get rolling it will be epic. Stock froyo will weep with embaressment. Some people will still not flash because they are worried that rooting will cause global warming.
this is a moot post since cyanogen only bases his roms off aosp, not a another rom.
Well to be accurate or technical I'd say neither cause being that this is a pre-release test ROM I doubt that Google will release the source code which Cyan uses to make his ROMs so there will be no CM ROM based off the pre-release.
Now if you ask if Cyan's ROM made after and off of the official Froyo release's source code is out then I will definitely say Cyan's will run circles around the official.
This poll doen't make any 'sense'...too early for assumptions

I believe the final froyo will be almost the same as this "test" release.

Stable is released for a lot of devices, but I thought the CDMA Hero didn't get it yet? It's not showing up in the stable releases on the CM stable downloads section, CM Hero CDMA forums (stable and experimental), or the team douche mirror.
there is only the stable 6.0.0 version for the cdma hero on that site

correct, hopefully they are about to release rc2, so they are just waiting to post the stable so they can put both up for me no biggie, i am on 1205 jaybob red, so i already sorta have rc2, but for a lot of others that would be great!
Ah, just saw an official post about it. Didn't know they were slackin on the heroC builds.
Also, I never meant to post download links or anything, just the 'press release'.

No, this is a build that started from AOSP. However, some of the fixes and few features have been derived from the CyanogenMod Team, including the CM kernel.

Totally sweet. Now you just need a 1.2 bootloader version. ;-)
I clicked on the gtab development section, saw Evervolv, and thought I accidentally went to evo development instead lol. Can't wait to try this out!
you really should indicate whether this is a 1.1 bootloader rom, or a 1.2 bootloader rom. it will alleviate many future problems that people have if they are flashing from the wrong bootloader.
it's only responsible to do so.
what bootloader do i need for install this rom
1.1 or 1.2
One of the slickest U.I.'s I have seen but most browsers and market quickly shuts down. I hope this can be fixed.

If you are using the following roms then you are still on BL 1.1
-Vegan froyo and GB
-Caulkin
-Tnt lite 4x or below- As I understand it, the version of tnt-lite that's on BL 1.2 is called Mountain Laurel now so anything else should still be BL 1.1. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.
-CM7
- All the CM7 variants
- Stock Rom 3588 and below
There's not that many ROMs that use BL 1.2 yet. Roebeets newer roms including Bottle of Smoke and Clemsyns combo with Roebeets BoS.
If you still have questions or I didn't list the rom you are on, I suggest reading the thread where you downloaded your rom...just to be safe.
Flashing now. Just wondering if the if the High Definition Video Hardware Decoding works on this? But so far looks awesome!

Is anyone else have trouble opening a browser (other than Opera, which is the only one that seems to work with this ROM)? How about Market, which also closes as soon as it tries to load the list of apps...??? If these issues can't be fixed it will be a shame because this is the most visually appealing ROM outside of Honeycomb.

Generally, when a release has been tested thoroughly and shows no signs of having any major bugs(e.g. camera not working, no touchscreen interaction) it is considered stable and usable as a daily driver for most people. The nightly builds of CM7 are considered unstable, because as new features are added on a daily basis, there is a possibility that those features/corrections may break some functionality in the device. This is not always the case, but it can happen.
This build seems pretty stable to me at least. Have at it and tell me/everyone what you think.
Issues?
Anyone test this out yet? Are there still issues with camera res, etc? How about Netflix playback?

I'd like to. I'm going on vacation in a few days, so after Wednesday I may not do a build for a week. Until then I'm planning on doing a release every night, contrary to what I stated in the OP. I'm not one for thorough testing/debugging/fixing though, so I will not attempt to patch/add anything to these releases other than what a nightly repo sync adds.

essentially(at least as far as I understand) The Gtablet build was renamed from harmony to smb_a1002 under the malata name/platform. This broke the buildbot for us for the nightlies, which has not been fixed yet. I have not yet seen an eta on when nightlies for us will be up again.

From what I know Buzz has never been dropped from CM7. There haven't been enough capacities to do the nightly builds for a while.
