I'm also using handcent sms.

Try image shrink lite.
I thought there was a setting on MMS to automatically resize the picture before sending... or that was my old phone? my phone send pictures very fast and I don't do anything to the picture and the camera is set to the highest res

Are you using default messing or Handcent?
I'm still having a problem with this. On all messaging applications too. It is taking 10+ minutes to send stuff and still failing. I'm using my wifi too and get 1.5 mbps up. Please help!
It's only a 17kb picture
I notice it says, "priority normal"

I don't have any problems with mine... I use the stock messaging and when I look at the details it says it's up to 200kb and it sends within 20 seconds on edge...

It doesn't have the swirling circle next to your messages?
Maybe this is a.t mobile issue?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
No swirling for me. It just says sending for a little bit and then it shows the date and time that it was sent. You sure that your apn settings are right?

Don't use wifi, only edge or 3g.

Maybe there is something odd with WiFi, but I use WiFi daily and have no issues... sorry man.
I had a problem yesterday, I was in a bestbuy and i took a picture of the touch pad to show my wife. I sent it then called her on the home phone asked if she received it. After about 4 minutes it showed up as the download button but would never download from the server. I wonder if there was a server side error yesterday?
I have this problem with this phone and two previous android phones. sometimes it takes forever, sometimes it is quick. I have written off to a T-Mobile network issue, though who knows.

I am using the Bell Atrix on Fido and timestamps show correctly on sent sms, however when i receive a msg, it is 4 hours behind. I know other android phones used to have this issue (evo 4g, etc) but I dont think anybody ever mentioned it for the Atrix. Similar issue anyone? if it is just me, then i can still exchange it.
Thanks
A friend of mine had this exact same issue with a Bell Vibrant on the Rogers network. He ignored the issue and used a different SMS app, Handcent or something, and the problem never showed up again.

There is an issue with Fido/Rogers (on non-Fido/Rogers branded phones) that shows this issue. Using a different SMS app will not fix the issue as this seems to be an issue with the Fido/Rogers network offsetting the time incorrectly - the Fido/Rogers branded phones have a fix built in.
To fix this on your Atrix, you need to install the app called SMS Time Fix. You can set the offset and it'll fix the timestamps for you.

btw you will find that using the offset does not work as well as setting incoming messages by the time determined by the phone.
trust me, after using it for 3 different handsets, this is the best way to do it.
I fixed it by changing my time zone and setting my own clock rather than using network time.

Wouldn't you get an incorrect time stamp in certain cases? i.e. This would set the timestamp of the SMS to the time received by your phone and not the network?
If your phone was turned off and someone sent you a SMS, when you turned the phone back on you would get the SMS timestamp to be the time you turned the phone one and not the actual time of receipt by the network.
I know my example is an edge case, but I'd rather use SMS Time Fix and get the real timestamp rather than the timestamp set by the phone.

Yup that is what I did was playing around with the app until I got the right time on the sent message.

I had the same issue from the day i picked it up on launch day (unclocked on Fido). I used the SMS fix app off the market and works fine. But sometimes i accidentally close the app using app killer.
Ill try the clock fix mentioned above (custom clock vs network time).

Which app are you using? Is there any options in the stock messaging program that let you offset the time stamp or do you need to use an outside app to do it?

My friend has an iPhone 4. When he sends me a pic through mms i get "your phone is not compatible with this message type or size. portions of this message will not be displayed". he is just sending a picture he took not anything else. i reboot and ask him to resend and still no luck. the only thing that does work is when he zooms in on the pic then takes a screenshot of it then sends it to me.
Does anyone know why this happens? its pretty annoying.
i attached a screenshot of how it looks
Lol, check the size of pictures. I think mms only supports 640x to 320x
I have this probleme too when I send one mms picture to a old phone. I resize and works
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Maybe try a different sms app like GoSMS? That's what I've been using and haven't had any issues with mms... plus it allows me to zoom into pictures which the stock text messaging app wouldn't allow.
That makes sense. It would be great if there wasn't any ristriction. Or like if would automatically resize the picture before it revives or something lol.

I also use handcent. It gives me the same problem. I'm gonna try the application you mentioned. Hopefully it works for me.

Interesting.... I've received pictures from my brothers iPhone 4 just fine. That's using the stock text messaging app.
So i looked around for a bit on here for MMS problems, and i couldn't find anything. When i was running WinMO 6.5 i could send MMS just fine. My friend rooted my phone with Android, and now when i send MMS it just says sending...
and never sends the message. I sent something last night, and when i woke up it still said sending...
Is there a fix for this? i do have MMS service enabled though T-mobile, and i can receive picture messages just fine. I was using stock app for the messaging, but then i though, hmm, i saw one on the market. so i used Handcent and the same problem occurred. Help would be greatly appreciated
edit; now i asked a friend to send me an MMS, and it says downloading and never downloads either!
I also have the same problem. But if you wonna receive the pictures just turn your mobile data on and then go to mms and click download. It should work but this doesn't seem to work with sending the MMS.
Same here, just need to know that modules work together with the mms.apk
Check and see if the data is enabled. That may be a solution.
The thing is I don't have data so I have it off at aall times
Edit: just turned on data for the Lulz to see If it would work, nothin :/

Sorry if this issue has been posted before. I'm having issues sending text over wifi. To do so I have to disconnect wifi in order to send it. Anyone else having this same issue and if so what can be done to fix it? This is driving me crazy. I'm on Verizon and it's a Note 3

Wifi shouldn't have anything to do with sending text messages.
As long as you have good cell service your text messages should send and receive fine.
Are you talking about picture messages?

I think it's a Verizon issue.. I have the Note 2 with the same issue... Only works with data mode. I can receive messages in WiFi but if they include a pic, I get a placeholder. Then I have to turn data on to view. When I inquired from this group the replies were... I don't have a problem.

Yes, always with pics and a handful or regular text. With regular text most of the time the wheel at the bottom of the text just keeps spinning

I had the same problem. This is how I fixed it for me.
I downloaded 8SMS. It's AOSP on steroids. You can use whatever your favorite SMS replacement app as long as you can manually set the MMSC.
For 8SMS, open settings, open MMSC settings, enter the following WITHOUT QUOTES. "http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms"
make sure MMS over wifi is NOT enabled as Verizon doesn't support this.
btw, I uninstalled the built in messaging app to eliminate any conflicting issues and then configured 8SMS to be "stand-alone mode".
Do you have Adblock Plus installed? That was the culprit for me. Once I uninstalled it, it started working fine.

That's a good point. I forgot about that. I think I had that problem as well. I switched to AdAway which I find is much better and cleaner anyway!
Hey guys
so I took the OTA update to 4.3 Im on MK2 and ever since I updated I have had issues when I try to send people mms.. it could be a simple message with an emoji from the iPhone keyboard or an image..
The messages sent perfectly fine before the update. I noticed in my APN settings I only have an ATT Phone APN.. not a APN for messaging or images or whatever, is there anyone on ATT network either pre or post update that has an additional APN in there settings? Could someone post the settings for theirs if they do?
And if I'm not missing an APN then I have no idea what the deal is, does anyone else have this problem? I've searched the forums but nothing I've seen I applied to my situation and the ones that were close I tried but to no avail.
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance,

Yes of course my network data is on. The thing is that even on WiFi the pictures require data to send so typically you send a picture on WiFi you continue to use WiFi but the data emblem will also show up while your message is sent, and even when the pictures just sit there and don't send, the data 4g lte symbol still shows and the message still tries to send..
I dont know what the issue is, but I am going to call AT&T tomorrow because it has been too long for this to be a problem on their network end.
