[Q] Chance of being able to order online at launch? - Epic 4G General

Anyone know if they'll have online ordering on sprints site at launch? I really want to use an online discount while getting the free activation etc. Theyre still out of stock of the EVO online though

Trouble ordering Nexus One

I was wondering if anyone was having trouble ordering their Nexus One? I have called T-Mobile numerous times and they keep saying I meet all of the eligibility requirements but when I go to Google's website and proceed with ordering the phone it tells me I am not eligible. I have e-mailed Google a few times and can't get anything but a generic response. If anyone did have trouble and was able to fix it, please let me know how. I am wanting this phone now and am frustrated with Google's lack of support. Thanks
Victor
Your probably not eligible for a post paid 2yr contract with tmobile. You may only be eligible for there flexpay 2yr contract (meaning you cant get the phone subsidized yet)
Call and check exactly what your eligible for.
Its better to just buy the phon unlocked. Tmobile has horrible cust support regarding the nexus one, and google cust support doesnt exist. Id hate to be tied in a contract with either of them
I have called and talked to a few different people and everyone says that I am fully eligible to get it at the discounted price. I have been more than happy with T-Mobile so I have no problem signing another 2 year contract with them. And the contract with Google to keep their plan is only for 120 days so I am not that worried. I just want it to work the way it should.

How to buy HTC HD2 Without T-Mo Service?

Okay,
So, I went down to T-Mobile store here in NYC. They told me I have to buy the phone with some kind of service even if I am buying it for full price. What do I tell them to buy just the phone?
I want to use it over At&t. I read that other people bought it from the store. Did anyone had to sign up for a new service?
I would appreciate any help
Thank you.
I just walked in to buy it. I ended up talking myself into getting a Flex Plan since I didnt wanna use it on Edge...
You can always just buy it and get a Flex Plan for a month and when its up, dont renew. Phone is yours, no contract..
i have a brand new tmobile htc hd2 that has never been used..if your interested let me know

they lied to you.. stock is still short so they want most of them for extending contracts or opening new ones because they get more money... just try a different store or go in and try again.
i have a 3 day old HTC HD2 for sale for $400
data plan
I paid cash for mine. The sales guy asked which line I was using it on and I refused to say. He hated that.
They lied to you. They can sell the phone without a plan. They are just upset cause they're loosing revenue without a plan..
Shame on you T-Mobile
fhaines
Buy the phone with a no-contract "EVEN MORE PLUS PLAN" @$449.99
Then call them up and say you don't like their service and you would like to cancel the plan, you should get a prorated charge of a few dollars for a day. That should be it. they cant ask for the phone back, since u paid full retail price for it. you have to get it unlocked from online though.
They're trying to keep their stock for people who are going to start a new contract.
I've heard outright lies such as the HD2 being 'about $700' without a contract. This was over the phone when I was calling around and checking the stock on the first day.

I can ship to Canana! $580, or my shop in Markam.Ontario
They tried the same thing with me, even though its off contract they are trying to still push plans and activation on it, even online, no way to buy it for $440 directly from the website,
i got it through a friend with a tmobile acc
I have an unlocked T-Mobile HTC HD2 for sale... I'm looking for around $525, which is what I paid + shipping of your choice. (I paid $29.99 to unlock it.) I'm tried using it on AT&T and can't stand EDGE. I never even tried a call on it. My AT&T Pure will have to hold me over until I can get a Telstra HTC HD2. I have all original accessories, documentation and box to go with it. PM me if you're interested. Oh yeah, I've flashed it with the latest Energy Rom, but I can downgrade it to stock rom if you like.

Tmo's web is now taking orders for the vibrant

just got my order confirmed online at 11:00PM EST
Have a link? I can't seem to find it listed.
I noticed that I could order it on T-mobile website also. My only problem is I have a full upgrade but on the website it only gives me an instant discount of $60. For whatever reason I have always had to go into the store and buy a phone through them to get my upgrade. It is gay, but I guess I will go in tomorrow and purchase the phone that way. =P
i just went back - go in, to "shop", then "phones & devices" then select what line you want to upgrade, then select android phones, then samsung, scroll to bottom of 2nd page, and clik on the vibrant
Can anyone help me here?
I already have a t-mobile sim on Even More Plus. I just want to buy the handset for $499.99 but the website makes me add a new plan!
I log on to my account and it won't let me look at any phones to upgrade.
Can I just add the service at 59.99 and the activation fee $35 (included in first bill) and just not pay these when I get the bill and get the new number cut off as I don't need it...?
Thanks!
Just saw t-mobile's site looks like they are taking orders. Wish I had $500 bucks to spend on a phone. This phone looks great.
do you think its still gonna be $165 at the store like it is online? This was not what i thought the upgrade price would be. I thought it would be $250 minus MIR! But i just ordered it for $165 online because of the instant savings!

[Q] Captivate\Vibrant for a European in the US

Hi guys,
I've just arrived in the US from Europe to go to school here for a number of years. I need to get a new phone and a US plan. Of course I want an Android, and my options are limited to T-Mobile and AT&T since I'll be wanting to use the phone back in Europe during summers so I need a GSM handset. I have a few questions for you guys though.
1. To what extent are the Captivate\Vibrant locked? I want to use a European SIM card in Europe. Is this possible? I'm willing to root the phone \ flash a custom rom if necessary. (I might well do this anyway).
2. For the NJ\NYC(I'll be going to Rutgers) what would you recommend? T-Mobile or AT&T? (I don't like the ATT data cap though).
3. I'm open for other Android options, but on GSM in the US the Galaxy S clones seem to be the best bet. Otherwise I'm quite the fan of HTC.
1. Most Carriers will unlock the phone for you. I know T-mobile will do it after 45 days as a customer.
2. Go with T-mobile, cheaper plans, unlimited data, faster web, better customer service. At&t is a horrid company and is only popular because of the iPhone.
3. I think the Vibrant/Galaxy S is better than the Capative. Doesn't have the At&t bloatware (which is worse than T-mobile bloatware) and will let you install non market apps.

Thank you for your quick response! Is there a charge involved in unlocking your phone?
Also, where would be the best place to order the phone? T-Mobile.com? Googling for a bit I found it 100$ cheaper at some site called wirefly.com, but perhaps it'd be better to go for the source. The local T-Mobile store did not have any stock, and wouldn't have for some two weeks. I hope their internet store has! As a Rutgers student I get 6% off the plan (not much, but at least something) and I'm not sure how to go about getting that discount online. On the other hand, I need the phone ASAP...

Amazon ir Wirefly are pretty good.. Amazon sells the phone for $99.99 with a new two-year plan
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Vibrant-Android-Phone-T-Mobile/dp/B003TXSKNE
WireFly offers free three-day shipping with FedEx I believe. Amazon also has free shipping.

T-mobile doesn't charge to unlock the phone. Just call them and tell them you want to unlock the phone. They submit the request and usually you have the unlock code in a day or two.
If you are going to purchase the phone through wirefly make sure you read all the stipulations they have. Usually they have a contract above and beyond T-mobiles. Basically say you sign up on a plan and decide to change that plan wirefly might charge you for changing it. While you save money up front it can cost you more in the long run. Check out Amazon.com as well they have good deals.
I've been chatting with T-mobile custumer support, and I should have figured... I can't get a phone b/c I lack a US SSN and credit history. I could go for a flexpay plan and pay the full price for the phone. Not likely I'm doing that!
I'll be getting a SSN at some point in the autumn, and I guess I'll have to get started on some sort of credit history. Annoying as hell.
In the meantime, I'll either need to get a flexpay plan for my current HTC Magic B (I hate it, it just doesn't have enough RAM to do ANYTHING on it!) or I'll need to get some cheap pre/paid package. Sigh.
On the upside, I guess, the phones will have SSAMOLED and quad-cores by the time T-Mobile will allow me to buy a phone from them.
Why don't you put Cyanogen on your current phone? It's no magic solution, but it'll at least make your experience more enjoyable.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
+1 for Cyanogen on a Magic B. I had CM5 for a long time and CM6 for about a week before I got my Vibrant, and it was pretty damn snappy. Nothing on the Vibrant, of course, but certainly made it MUCH better. I still love that phone, though the screen looks tiny and just awful in comparison nowadays, lol.

[Q] Some questions about buying online

My sister is looking to buy this phone as a Christmas present and we are not that big on online shopping but it looks like it is going to be the only way to get the cheap price after news on LGs MSRP.
Does anyone know what time and timezone to start trying to get it on the Play Store? Since it only has a notify me box and no way to preorder and I feel it will go out of stock fast. So she plans on sitting at the computer to get it bought as fast as possible.
Also what shipping and other fees can be expected when shipping it to Canada?
Google Play support has stated that the store is in the PST timezone (GMT-8), and it's assumed to go on sale at midnight. It's all speculation at this point though
Thanks, that helps a lot.
