I just bought it from eBay and it came in today. It had Laurentus26 on it, which was really buggy. So I reset it, but then it wouldn't go past HTC screen, then I flashed Stock ROM(T-mo) on it, and now its stuck at Stick Together screen. What is wrong with my phone please help I'm so sad

Yes I tried MANY MANY times using the PC. But it still gets stuck. And now its stuck at "SOFTWARE UPDATE FAILED"
How do I force install from MicroSD?
1. go here to get the latest official ROM:
http://dl.htc.com/ruudownload/t-mobileUS/DeviceDownloads.aspx?pid=leo
2. Unzip the download and find the .nbh file. Rename it LEOIMG.nbh.
Put this file on the root of the storage card (the stock 16gb that came with the phone won't work). I recommend buying a 10 dollar sandisk 2gb for flashing.
3. Put the phone into bootloader mode. Easiest way to get into bootloader: press the reset button under the back cover followed by immediately holding the vol down rocker. Bootloader is the funny looking tricolored screen. It should stop on the screen for a couple of seconds, then jump to a grey screen that asks if you want to perform the update. Press the red end call button (power) to start or vol down to cancel.
That should do it. It should start installing. If not, I'm not sure what else can be done. This method will also "relock" the phone so you can't install any custom ROMs unless you hspl unlock again.
Good Luck

I tried an old Nokia 2GB card, it just goes to the screen where it says Serial. It's not recognizing a rom on the card. It also says "Update ROM code error. Please try again" it happened after I installed the last ROM on this list: http://www.vbnfiles.com/xda/xmoo/Leo/TMOUS/ since it had the most downloads.

Are you getting that error when trying to flash from the card or from a computer via usb?
IF you get a ROM code error that means it is trying to flash it. I would go to the website I listed. It has you enter the S/N for the phone so you know it is the right Stock ROM.
p.s. Is it a tmobile branded hd2?

yeah its a T-Mo HD2, and yes that's where I got the ROM after entering my IMEI #, it gives some other error on PC, and gets stuck at 8%. Also, while flashing that ROM it wasn't connected to Device Center, since the PC wouldn't recognize it.
I called T-MO and they are sending me a brand new one, anything I can do in the meantime?

if you have to send this one back to them, it needs to be stock or bricked.
Once you get the new hd2, I would try to flash a .51 radio onto the one you need to send in. That will brick it so they can't see that is not stock.

same way you flash a ROM, either through usb or from SD card:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
Download a .51 radio and extract the .nbh file, rename it LEOIMG.nbh and put it on the storage card, enter bootloader, if it will flash, voila; instant brick!
I would only do this if they want the old one sent in and you can't get a stock ROM on it.

Hey all,
Just a little background information:
- Hard SPL'd my phone to flash Dutty's cooked ROM.
- All of a sudden one day, the phone switched off. I tried to boot it up but it will freeze on the HTC loading screen where it displays the radio version, ROM version in red down the bottom - the phone would not go any further.
- My computer won't even recognise it when I plug in my USB.
Anyway, I figured I'd try to uninstall HSPL and start over again. I downloaded an official HTC ROM, tried to load into the bootloader and now I'm stuck.
The screen reads:
Upgrade ROM code error
Please try again
If I pull out the battery/SD card, it will load into this screen again.
What *I THINK* may be the issue is that I didn't use the original ROM SPECIFIC to my phone, i.e. WWE Asian ROM.
I've updated the ROM image on my SD card but I can't get into the original bootloader to start the uninstallation process again.
Help!
Ok, nice and calm, are you sure you can't get into bootloader mode?
Power off, sim and sd card out (just to be sure)
hold volume down, tap power, continue to hold volume down.

I can get into the bootloader just fine.
It will display the error message and I can't do anything.
OK, so if you can get to the 3 coloured screen, you can just flash HSPL (if it isn't still installed) and flash a new rom.
Boot to bootloader(3 coloured screen), connect to computer, run HSPL.exe

My computer refuses to connect to the phone.
I'll plug in my USB cable, windows will make the connection sound but the phone won't load into Windows Explorer.
What does it say by the spl? 1.42.0000? or 1.42.HSPL?
Actually it doesnt matter, when you hear the connection sound, thats enough, Run HSPL.exe, and if its not already installed, it should install, if it is already installed it will say 'hspl requires 1.42.000' or something.
Either way, you can then go ahead and flash a new rom.

No, it doesn't work.
When I run HSPL.exe, it says it can't find my phone.
I already have HSPL installed with a custom ROM.
The phone is stuffed whereby I couldn't get past the HTC logo screen - it just freezes there.
I tried uninstalling HSPL thinking this would solve my problem with no luck.
The phone boots into the bootloader with an error message that I can't seem to get around.
Ah ok, so you get the error message on the 3 coloured screen? If that is the case, then spl itself is corrupt.
I thought you got the error message when the phone tried to boot, my mistake.
Next to try then is to find the original rom that came on your phone, and flash it from sd card, and hopefully it will overwrite the spl. It must be the correct rom for your provider and region, though.
If that doesn't work, then i'm afraid all I can do is wish you best of luck.

I think this is where I went wrong.
I tried uninstalling HSPL with a ROM that wasn't from my region which is why I'm getting these errors.
Surely there's a way around this?
If you can find your original rom, there is a good chance you will be fine, OR you can probably try the goldcard route, however i'm not 100% so i wouldnt go handing over cash (goldcard isn't free) until you are sure.
Do you know what rom you are looking for?

I'm sure my phone's original rom was the WWE Asian version from Hong Kong.
I've uploaded the ROM onto my SD card but I can't get the bootloader to load it.
As stated before, I used another ROM at first and then it crashed on me.
Everytime I start the bootloader, it won't let me load the Asian ROM from scratch.
It just displays the error with no way around it.
Hmm, ok, just a couple of last thoughts then i gotta go to bed.
1 - sd card formatted fat32
2 - some people have better luck with 2gb cards than with bigger ones.
3 - Was the phone bought direct unlocked from HTC or is there a chance its provider locked? (i.e are you REALLY SURE you have the right rom)
4 - RUU_Signed.nbh coppied to sd card and renamed leoimg.nbh
Gotta go, best of luck.
ok. u are getting error in bootloader? what exacly is the error message you are getting..
Hard Reset
I had a similar problem to this and a hard reset solved the problem. Did you try a hard reset? I think its press volume up and volume down and power simultaneously.

Even that won't work!
Confirmed hard reset but pressing "Volume Up", then the screen blacks out immediately and nothing happens.
When I press the "power on" button, all I see is an exclamation mark for a second then a black screen.
I think the solution is for you to try flashing to HSPL again.
1. Boot to bootloader mode by pressing Vol down key and click the Power button. You should get the tri colour screen, and the word "Serial" on the bottom.
2. Plug in the USB cable to your PC. The word "Serial" should then change to "USB".
3. Run hspl.exe as administrator.
I did the same as you previously when I tried to load the SEA 1.66 ROM on my Hong Kong English phone, and recovered it by using the above steps. I had to run HSPL 3 times before it worked. The first 2 times, it would seem to work as I'd get the "We Hacked it!" message, but when I rebooted the phone to the bootloader, it still wasn't HSPL. Only on the 3rd try, did it successfully load HSPL to the bootloader.
-edit-
You can download the original Hong Kong CSL ROM from a link in this thread.
got to say, if in doubt - goldcard it!!!
what is your spl version now? 1.42.0000 or 1.42.hspl '?
only bootloader is never a problem with hspl installed.
only bootloader is no problem with original spl version as long as you have a compatible stock rom.
\I wonder whether the phone would connect to computer properly.
After plenty of reading around, I've finally fixed the issue!
It was the easiest of all fixes - all I had to do was to download the original factory ROM the phone came with (.exe file) and run the executable with the phone plugged in via USB.
Thanks to all those who have tried to help.
My phone refuses to boot winmo, it just gets stuck at a white screen (Its worked fine for 6 months, and decided to die today -_-)
So, I want it fixed!
But....
It will boot to the tricolour whatsit so it clearly shows 'coutullaHSPL'
But everytime I try to restore the stock Radio, or ROM is fails.
With the words :
"LEOIMG.nbh - FAIL" and "update terminate UPDATE FAIL"
In red writing.
Which is something, after over a year of doing this stuff on my HD2 alone I have never had happen to me.
So I cant take the phone back to stock, so no warranty!
So what can I do from here? Put her in the microwave so she wont turn on at all?

Tried it, and nothing! I've tried 3 different official roms now
When you are in Bootloader mode and your USB cable is plugged in what does the screen say at the bottom line ? Serial or USB ?
If you can see USB its all right. So take HSPL2 and run it, after that perform task29. Then try to flash customROM.
This is how it worked for me.

I would do the following to get your device up and running again legitimately:
1. Take SD card out of device, insert into Card reader and then PC.
2. Download from HTC's offical website Stock ROM 1.66 (or even 1.43) with your S/N
3. Extract this RUU.....exe file to your desktop with 7-zip or Powerarchiver.
4. Rename custom.nbh to leoimg.nbh
5. Check if your SD card is not corrupt or damaged
6. If not, then copy leoimg.nbh to the root of your SD card
7. Remove SD card from PC and reinsert in the powered off device, which is not connected to your PC.
8. Press and hold vol down button and then shortly press on/off button. You should then enter bootloader screen and 1.66 will be automatically installed on your device.
9. At the end of the procedure there should be a message: installation succesfully. If yes, press the little red button beneath the battery to perform a soft reset or remove battery, wait 10-15 secs and reinsert battery and push the on/off button.
10. When the phone has booted up correctly after the SR, perform for extra security a hard reset.
When all goes as it should, you will have the the official 1.66 HTC ROM on your device.
Good luck and regards, Kuzibri
Hello guys,
I got a HTC HD2 today from ebay, the seller has 100% feedback.
I have done a search about my problem but I dont wanna do anything wrong on the phone if the phone is faulty and send it back.
My situation was, I got the phone, inserted my SIMcard and set all the first settings. after 2min someone called me, when I answered the call couldnt hear anything and the phone was frozen :\ after few seconds the phone reboot itself and I waited 5min to see if turned back on, but didnt :\
I've tried pressing the yellow reset botton near the battery, I've tried hard reset.
And if I press VOL down and turn the handset on thats the info I get :
PB81120 SS-B3
SPL-2.08.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x50
and on the bottom of the screen says SERIAL, nothing else
I've got the phone from America (T-mobile) I'm in australia, melbourne
I've worked hard to get this phone and now when I got, could only use it for couple minutes
Please help me asap.
Thank you and sorry open other topic about it
Guessing its TMoUS HD2 Leo1024. BTW what rom is installed on it did you get to notice while you had it? Something is odd here you are not sharing with us how does it go and get stuck in that screen.
Well to be safe if you don't know flash it. So don't matter remove the battery and restart it and go to bootloader mode by pressing power button while holding down the bottom volume button. Then connect the device to your PC via USB mount and download and run HSPL or you can do it via stock rom go download 2.10 from WM dev archive thread.
I just got the phone today :\ the seller said to me the phone is the tmobile version 512mb. I'm a bit noob with HTC, Ive been with iphone until today. well, Im not sure which rom I had, but I think its LEO.
Ive tried all afternoon, I removed the battery out of the phone for 2 hrs, then tried again(without SIMcard) and the phone started up again as new settings and asked me to put my simcard in, so I removed the battery and put the simcard in, turned the phone on, it got stuck again in STICK TOGETHER screen
I dont wanna be inconvenient about all my questions, I just want my phone fixed :\
I couldnt do anything with the phone cos I set up the settings, after couple min got a call and the phone froze and it reboot it self stucking in STICKY TOGETHER screen. I was trying to flash it, but how can I sync my phone with windows 7? cos if I put in bootloader screen, it says USB at the bottom but WMDC says device not conected.
Do you have any solution for my problem?
thank you for your reply
Ahhh as you said TMobile I naturally thought it would be Leo1024(HD2-US) but now that you say its 512mb thats not TMobile you are using Leo512(HD2-EU). I had a feeling you flashed your rom as you flashed wrong one then.
So to verify post the HSPL and ROM data from where you got it from so we know. Also visually verify your actual device does it say TMobile on the top? does the button have colors? If both = yes its TMobile.
My phone has T-Moline on the top and has colors on the buttons. its definately t-mobile. I asked the seller and he said was 512, maybe he is wrong.
I havent done anything to the phone I cant flash cos I cant even conect with my computer the phone came from USA. I'm in australia
thank you
If it's a USA TMobile, then it's not the 512 version, and you need to flash only US TMO compatible ROMs or you could brick it.
When you say you tried a hard reset, how did you do that?
It should be when the phone is off you hold down both volume up and down, and keep them held down, then briefly press the power button but keep holding the volume buttons.
What happens when you do that?
Try to flash it through the sd card.
- Download the rom you want, uncompress the files, rename the nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
(The original HTC rom files can be uncompressed too, even if they are .exe files - you will find a .nbh file inside)
- Copy this file to the root of the sd card.
- Reboot while pressing volume down.
It should start to flash the new rom.
That's what I called Hard reset
I'm doing it again and comes up a grey screen saying
This operation will delete all ur personal data, blah blah blah..
Press VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel
I pressed VolUp

Press VolUp to bootup

I don't know if it's 100% bricked afterwards, but you do need to install a compatible ROM, made for your device, so you need to be sure which one it is. It's really not worth rushing this and trying to just install a ROM as you may irreparably damage your phone.

Like I said earlier, wait for a while and let someone confirm that it is indeed a 1024MB ROM, or you will probably brick it and not be able to fix it.
HSPL3 works on all types of HD2 though, so you can flash that. Those links are both actually the same thing.
Just don't flash a ROM until you know 100% that you have the right type.
It is the TMOUS 1024 LEO.
Go to the HTC website and download a T-Mobile USA ROM, you are required to enter the phone's serial number. This will guarantee that you only download a ROM that is suitable for your phone.
Since you really just want to test the phone then go for the 2.10 ROM.
Firstly press and hold the Volume Down button, then tap the power button. This will bring you into Bootloader Mode (as you previously have done). When you plug in the USB cable to the computer the 'Serial' on the phone's screen will change to 'USB'.
As an administrator run the ROM and just tick the box about activesync.
thank you.

I was 99.9% sure and just wanted someone else to agree really.
Basically, US T-Mobile HD2 are the only ones in the world with green and red call/end-call buttons, and every US T-Mobile HD2 has 1024MB ROM. If the guy you bought it off said it was 512MB then that would explain why it's in its current condition. It sounds like he believed it to be a 512MB version, and flashed a bad ROM. It also sounds like he's palmed it off on you, believing it to be knackered.
As fred_up said, go the the HTC site and download an official ROM for that device. You should be able to install that with no issues and see if the phone definitely works or not.
Good luck mate

2.08.0000
what should I do first?
I will try to find the rom on HTC website.

I got this phone on Ebay because I am poor. It was a T Mobile unlocked that was changed to Android. I can't get rid of the old user name and don't have the password for the Android market account set up on this phone. I can't do a factory reset and I need help. I would prefer to put 7 on it but I would be happy putting 6.5 back. Android would do if I could reset the user account. I do hope someone can help me. I am not very technically gifted but I can follow easy instructions. Please help me.

Because you are new at this I suggest flashing the stock T Mobile from your SD card. It is the simplest and safest thing to do.
You may need the Serial and IMEI numbers located under the phones battery.
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32
2. Go to T Mobile web site and download the rom. It will ask for you IMEI number this makes sure the rom is for your mobile.
3. Unzip/unrar the downloaded file into a folder on your PC
4. Rename the RUU_signed.nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
5. Copy the LEOIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
6. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
7. Reset the device while pressing the volume down button to enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
8. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
9. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
What if you want to flash it without using the SD card? I flashed android using NAND but I want to put WM 6.5 back.

I think doing it with the SD card is only way to get back to 6.5.
You could always boot into the boot loader by holding the up volume and power key then flash a 6.5 Rom.

Everyone has forgotten to find out what device this is, t mobile are all over the place and some ship 1024MB versions, don't flash anything until you work what you need, flashing incorrect tmobile roms could give you a really bad day and an expensive paperweight
I tried the data cable first and it won't sync with active sync because it is at this time android. It just isn't recognized as anything but a usb storage device. Then I tried the card. I put all the files on the card according to the directions and hit the volume down button and the power button and nothing happens. I then have to remove the battery to turn it back on. The screen that comes up when I first start the phone is dark forces team. There has to be a way to do this.
You have to be holding vol down before u even press the power button, then press the power button simultaneously. U should see a tri-color screen then connect your usb to pc and flash the 6.5 ROM
Make sure u start with the phone off

I had a few attempts before I got it so try again.
It worked for me with a 16GB card.
Turn off your mobile.
Hold the Volume Down and End Call (power) buttons at the same time.
When "Searching" appears on the screen, release the Volume Down button.
This guide may help. But ignore the things about custom ROM’s and HSPL for now.

ok, there are two versions of the HD2, one with 512MB one with 1024MB, some t-mobile US phones (TMOUS) have 1024MB, if you ge the wrong ROM you could potentially bugger your device
for instance, flash a ROM with a unsupported radio on your device than game over....potentially
if you have a TMOUS 1024MB HD2
flash to .51 radio an its screwed
flash to .50 radio an its ok, except 2.05.50.x radio which will screw it
and stick to TMOUS ROMS as well
if you have the regular world wide version we can flash to what ever we like
its important to find out what someone is using before recomending them to flash any WM6.5 ROM because if by chance that ROM contains an incorrect radio version for that hardware then its game over.
I have an HTC Surround that I cant get to boot past htc logo and if i try to hard rest it goes to spl screen. Where can i get the software to reflash it. I also have another microsd that i can change out if that is bad
still working on
So I replaced the mirco sd and tried to do the restore using the power and volume buttons and still would not get it to try and boot more then a few secs and stop at the htc screen. I also flashed the stock att rom that I got off xda but still no luck. My last chance is trying a new battery today are there any more suggestions
My surround did the same thing recently. It's a problem surrounds have. Unfortunately you have tried the 3 most common solutions.
1: reflash with stock rom
2: Change out sd card
3: hard reset
The only way I know of to get a working one after you have tried those 3 things is hope it's under warranty. :-/

Where did you get that stock at&t rom? I've been all through the developer section and all I see are telus and cingular roms. I've got a phone from the shop that's stuck on the htc logo and replacing the sd card hasn't fixed it. I tried to flash a telus rom because hey what the hell do I have to lose but RUU wasn't able to establish an ActiveSync connection on the htc logo screen looping repeatedly. Is there a way to force it into a sort of download mode from the htc logo to do the flashing from?

Cingular is AT&T. I have flashed both of these ROMS to my AT&T Surround. Both work perfectly.

i'm guessing this should work:
C. Windows Phone 7 ROM Flashing Instructions
1. Unzip your downloaded *.zip file in a separate folder
2. Press and hold power-on/off button to power-off the phone
3. Press and hold volume-down button and then press power-on/off button to enter bootloader mode
4. When your phone enters the tricolor screen bootloader mode, release volume-down button
5. Connect your phone to your windows 7/vista/xp pc/laptop with a usb cable
6. Verify that your phone will be identified and relevant drivers will be installed by windows os of your pc/laptop
7. After completion of (6.) above, check the usb message connection on your phone screen
8. To flash the new ROM go to your pc/laptop folder of (1.) above
9. Double click on the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and strictly follow the instructions on your pc/laptop screen
Do You still need help about this?
Basically you need to download DFT_RSPL_WP7FG2_LAUNCH from this forum, this will allow you to flash a custom rom. The ROM installed at the phone must be a NODO one because mango roms updates the loader and are not compatible.
For apply it you must put the phone on loader. Connect the phone to the usb, turn it off, turn it on but holding volume down key.
Once there you will see the 3 color screen and will say USB run the DFT_RSPL_WP7FG2_LAUNCH and follow the steps.
The phone will restart and showing again the 3 color screen but with HSPL now you can install DFT ROM. DFT ROM is basically a custom Windows Phone with the option to sideload apps you just run ROMUpdateUtility.exe from the DFT ROM downloaded and it will upgrade your OS to DFT Version.
Now what? SPL too high!
My brothers HTC surround has crashed, and fails to load the OS. i can get to the bootloader, but it's
spl-4.2.2250.1 (129185) MNG
i've got HSPL and RSPL, but they say DON'T TRY IF NOT 1.X SPL OR IF IT SAYS MNG. his says both. he was running mango, and i'm just trying to reinstall a stock rom. I'm wondering what advice any of you might have. I've reinstalled roms on Samsung devices, but not on an HTC, so i'm not sure what all this is about, or what the consequences are of proceeding. any help would be great.
Thanks dudes.
bump?
please?
Is it 1/2 bricked?
If you connect the device to a PC does it go to USB mode? At teh red blue green screen does it say USB at the bottom?
USB
It does display USB. If i leave it on for like an hour, eventually, i just discovered, windows DOES load, and it says "your memory is corrupt" it does connect to the computer, and it is detected by my pc, and it does display USB. I'm going to try to put in a new SD card, but i'm wondering once i do that, will i be able to flash the retail rom to it, with that spl.
thanks!
Check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597837.I believe you will have to downgrade your bootloader. I haven't tried this yet myself, I hope it helps you out.
