[NEW Problem Re Read first post]OS Kitchen with Rhodium - Windows Mobile

I'm using osKitchen to cook my own roms, and unless I recmod everything (the att update has a lot of packages and I'm still working them down) platform rebuilder crashes. So my question is, if I'm using the AT&T Sense updated rom, what packages do I have to remove or recmod to build without platform rebuilder crashing?
New problem: Now I get popup about fileop_open failing and the rom won't finish loading the homescreen. That's when I recmod everything. I only recmod phonecanvas which solved my initial problem, the phone won't finish setting up. Help?
Edit: Sorry, missed the "yes this is a question" tick box

In my case, it was phonecanvas att. Give that a try.

The most likely culprit is the notification manager DLL's. Recmod all of them and try again.. If not, just use a process of elimination by not cooking in a "chunk" of packages until you get platform rebuilder to stop crashing, then... drill down to the one that causes it

The reasons for why Platform rebuilder crash are various, one of them could be because you are overwrite a module to a file or vice-versa.
Enable the tool log in the kitchen settings and post what platformrebuilder says.
If you made a search or a post in OsKitchen thread you would have already found the solution, always post a problem in the App Creator thread thats the fast and easy way to have the solution.

Have you EVER seen platformrebuilder show any errors in the build log about corrupted modules or overwriting files ? No ? It's because it doesn't log that stuff... That's why I suggested to him the process of elimination.
p.s. The "App Creator" is bepe and he's looooong gone. Don't expect any support from him... lol

Yeah, it didn't give me anything so I had to use elimination process and was able single out that package.

I dont know if you use OsKitchen but since i never see you in that thread i suppose no....anyway ,what i meant was to search in OsKitchen thread for HIS problem since there are many other posts about Platformrebuilder crash , though it easy , click search and type your question http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=43473730 and yes , in OsKitchen some problems are with overwrite modules with files.
Title thread say [Problem] OSKitchen with Rhodium ,so when i say APP CREATOR im referring to Airxtreme not Bepe.....In my honest opinion it is LOGICAL post a problem with a particular app or rom in the proper thread, it doesnt make sense open new threads when the main thread its still active.

Regardless.. airextreme would have told him what I told him, as well. His "oskitchen" won't be able to tell him why PRB crashed...

Oh, I told him in my first response. It was Phonecanvas ATT package for me. I had osKitchen recmod it so I didn't bother to experiment any further as to which dll was the culprit.
On a side note, maybe not everyone got the same issue. I was looking all over in the first place, but nobody seemed to mention that package being the problem when they cooked using the newest ATT ROM for Rhodium. But it would crash for me every time.

Ditto... osKitchen suggested I think 3 recmods but it wouldnt compile. Platform builder crashed. I had to recmod phonecanvas before it stopped.
Basically as was suggested I started with the project I saved once the rom import completed and then I alternated recmod for all packages in the top half, then the bottom half until it compiled. Just reload the project once you figure out which "group" works. Then split that set in half and then half again narrowing down the package(s) you need to do this for.

Yes, i spoke with Airxtreme and also for him you need to recmod ATT Phonecanvas.

Re-read the first post guys, new problem

ok ,thats all.
I already said to you to search in OsKitchen thread before posting questions and i already said that since OsKitchen thread is still active! , people must use that thread .
This mean that this thread is closed.

if moderator delete this topic, ok.
******************. My friend Ham3r here cooked like 10 roms without having the actual device, made the effort and you can't do one simple thing a test and post results? If you think that flashing a phone with a not-well-made/unfinished rom can brick your device, you should at least read the wiki or understand what is written here in the forums. And before you start to insult me or whatever, take into consideration that it IS possible that you don't have the amount of knowledge needed. Start reading - stop posting stupid things.
Mod Edited. You can make your point without insults. The warnings members give are valid for a ROM that is not tested.
welcome chef, but why in wm6.1?
6.1 is faster.
rom's for leo are only 6.5.. i don't understand that.

I can see everyone from Poland ganging up on people who ask for this ROM to be removed. It does seem strange however, that someone would cook a ROM for a device they don't own, and can't test.
99% of people will NOT flash an untested ROM. It makes no sense. Even following all the correct procedures, it could still brick the device, as the chef doesn't even know if the ROM works properly. Also, uploading as a file that we need to convert maybe isn't the best thing to do either. Most people don't have the tools or knowledge to convert these files.
Can we please end the flaming and insults. How old are you people really!?
I am intrested in 6.1 rom.
_Rayearth, you have hd2, have you tested it?
Thanks.
It's because we do test untested roms and therefore we know better
I some1 want to remove thread just because it offers untested rom, then I think this person should do a little research on this matter.
BTW, is it realy so hard not to read this thread if you don't like/use the content? just ignore it.
hrcro, yes I have but personaly, I think it would hard to use it with fingers on 6.1
on the other hand, clean and fast rom like this is rare these days
The vast majority of roms on here are untested before posted, the only difference is half the chefs don't tell you! Chefs with custom kitchens cook for a lot of devices and post for users to test. NRGZ28 did this, yet nobody asked him to close his down, and he is a brilliant chef!
Stop asking for this to be closed, the OP has as much right as anyone to ask people to test something for him, it is the users that make the decision. If you don't want to test it, sod off and leave the thread alone.

Programms for cook a rom!!!!!????

hi
i want cook a rom.
what for "PROGRAMMS" i need for cook a rom??
BIG THX
I am interested too
Hello Everyone,
I am interested too, what software do I need to cook a Windows Mobile ROM?
no offense, but cooking a rom would take a LOT more time and brainpower than simply searching the forums to find out how to do it.
if you dont have the skills to find out, you don't have the skills to do it.
Funny

Here what I did:
- Download kitchen from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=628948
- Download Tmo US Leo 2.10 rom from here http://www.4shared.com/dir/22189940/b8552fa0/Shipped_Leo_ROMs.html
- Extract RUU_Signed_0409.nbh
- Open the kitchen and dump nbh file.
Now you have everything to Cook your own rom.

With the TMOUS Leo 2.10, what's the diffence between "...ship.part1.rar" and "...ship.part2.rar"?
Also, Ship_pkgs.7z for the LEO seems to be TOPAZ. So, which one is the LEO...?
I didnt mean it that way, tbh, I have no clue about rom cooking, I've just gotten sick of all the idiots who come posting about "WHERE IS ANDROID????" and "WHY IS MY PHONE BRICKED!!!!" who obviously did no research at all before starting. sorry if i rubbed you the wrong way.

You need two parts to extract file, then you get .exe file, then extract that .exe file again, you get RUU_signed.nbh.
Now you just import RUU_signed.nbh and cook your own rom.
I use ervius's visual kitchen. Here's a link to one I threw up last night using the stock rom from TMOUS...

He already responded and apologized... Reading everyone's posts before you hit reply is a good thing, generally.
how exactly do i extract the RUU_signed.nbh?
UPDATE: I got it, for anyone that may be wondering the same thing I was having trouble with, open the downloaded .exe from with an archive editor (7-zip, or winRAR) and extract the RUU_signed.nbh.
Are you guys dumping the default T-Mobile ROM? I keep getting errors when I try to do that....

Ques on how to modify a rom without error

I wanted to take a first stab at doing some basic mods to a ROM and signing it as a zip for myself both to learn how to make a rom and to get the rom just the way I like it.
I wanted to take the IC3ROM v2.5 and make some minor changes for personal use. I removed/added some apps and then signed the zip correctly. One of the changes I wanted to make was to remove the DConfig app. I tried to install it onto my Hero, but got some error about "Unverified" and "DConfig app missing".
Is there some file I need to edit to tell it which apps are included/excluded in the ROM?
Thanks in advance.

FYI, I've already read the faqs and searched about 10 times. Seems like the forum here has become too assuming that no one is searching. I do searches before I post a new thread, which I don't do a lot.
FYI, I did find this post:

it seems somehow relevant, but I can't tell what specifically I have to do to remove the aforementioned error I'm getting.

I use OsKitchen too but the problem continued ....
I think it should be a problem in XIP and SYS package
I tested many roms from every cooker but most of them have this problem , it should be a reg fix for it
I'm using OS Kitchen v1.31 now. Before that, I use v1.30v3. No such problem of back button or end key.
I cook Topaz and Rhodium roms.
I'll suggest that you start building up your kitchen from scratch. It is likely that you might have messed up in your kitchen that is causing this problem.

Help me !!! Start Menu not open.

Dear,
Not found the solution. Could someone teach me how to solve my problem?
I'm a beginner cook to the i900 and then I made a new compilation of my Start Menu no longer open ? Can not see my application icons.
Any help or advise would be a good size.
Thank you all.
mureta.
Cook in all of the sys packages; you're leaving out something important. Make sure you get the right dpi/lang. I think most of the start menu stuff is in the Base packages. You probably left one out. Anyway, until you know really well what you need in your builds, it's best to cook in all of the sys packages for your device.
That usually happens when one of the .cpr files are missing, like Farmer said...
@Farmer Ted
Again thanks for your great help provided as always. I'll find out on their boards.
@NRGZ28
I will check on your help. Thanks. I am a great admirer of his work.
Note:Without the help of you could not imagine what could be.
Not wanting to bother, I put my attached SYS-Lang, only for a simple conference of you EXPERTS!
Tnks so very much. Sry my english.
mureta.
@Farmer Ted and NRGZ28
Well guys, apparently my SYS is good, I'm deducing that since there was no comment.
I've only had several builds and still the same thing, even all complete. Regarding the file (. cpr), really do not know where to find the solution which the file properly connected and how to change the file, what I did was copy and change all the (. cpr) that works in the kitchen and put in English in my kitchen in Portuguese, but without success.
If possible, I would like a teaching easier, if possible.
Grateful.
I am guessing your taskbar icon mod if you have any.
But best bet is to disable all mods, cook only stock pkgs and see what happens. Then add mods one by one.
