My I9000 send smses on his own during power on HELP - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi
I got the sgs gt I9000
A few frinds told me that I sent them smses more than once, after we finished owr chat.
For ex: I smsed my friend yesterday at 00:00 4 smses. The device turned off at 07:00 this morning, and sent them again to her wheb I turned it on.
I didn't find any connection between the time I sent the sms to the time it was turned off.
It's like the sms is still in the outbox, after it is already sent, and when I turn the device off/on it sends it again.
Anyone knows about this kind of a problem?
Its round 4 smses a day, it's round 120 a month, in $ it's an exra 20$ to the monthly bill...

He said telco - your carrier.

Ok, thanks, I'll talk to Orange.

Ok guys, I talked to my carrier. They checked stuff from their side, qnd all is good.
Also, o checked if the problem accure with my e71, and I don't experience the problem with it.
That means it something with my sgs.

Thanks
D.

It might be the background MOSAD app playing up ;-D

If you use another app for sms try uninstalling it and check again...
Also check the last apps you installed before the problem appeared

Hi
I'm using the original app for sms, I like it a lot.
I uses Handcent, but thought it was the cause, so I uninatalled it.
I even uninstalled an app I used for popup sms.
All was b4 I wrote the post.
What I think ia left to do is reflash, and install app by app, to see what causes it. But it's a very long procedure.

Why do you turn your device off in the first place?

lolz. touche. also from the title the device definitely sounds possessed, but now I've gone off topic.
I change the batteries in my device once a day so I don't over-cycle/over-stress them, it happens to give the dual purpose of a reboot which is good for the phone. Turning the phone off has its places.

looks like the same poltergeist as mine, infact random clicks often sends sms or gtalks just a matter of luck

[Q] My GSM signal dissapears completely after a while

Hey guys,
I have a very enoiing problem, when i start my X10 up my GSM signal is good, but after not using the phone for like 3 hours (while in the main time just being in sleepmode), I've got no signal at all anymore and have to restart the phone. This problem doesn't happen if I haven't used my phone for like half an hour and i use it again (while in the main time just being in sleepmode). Is this a wrong setting or something like that? because normally my signal is great, except when I haven't used it for a while (like 2 hours or more)
Regards, Meikrekel
Have any spooky task killer app ?

Nope, that isn't the problem. Tested it, but that ain't the problem
I had this and similar other issues. Turned out to be the se backup app. I use titanium so simply removed the stock backup.
Maybe worth a look for you mate. Use titanium to freeze it first to confirm.

Thank you so much, it seems to work. I didnt have a connection before i removed it, after removing it i already had connection again=D

Ok this is strange, your solution worked for 2 days and now the problem is back:s

The only advice I can offer is that I only used to get this when an app, for whatever reason, accessed the sim.
For me it was the se stock backup app.

I lose my signal on gsm but seems that is the firmware (026)

Calling on it's own!

Interested in knowing if anyone else had this problem?
I got a call from a friend this evening, (he called me) when the call ended I hung up. Then the phone tried to cal him back. I ended it and it happened another 6 times until I powered off the phone.
This has never happened before. Very strange !

Yes this is weird!
Any "callback" applications installed on the phone?
Stock rom or custom rom ??
jje
In settings / call settings / voice call, check if auto redial is checked. If it is maybe your phone got mixed up and tried to redial. It usually does when it has a connection problem.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Sorry for the delay in getting back.
No auto dialers, stock rom and auto redial is off.
This has not happened since I posted this topic but I am keeping an eye on it.

these wierd one-off probs are like the only reason why iOS is considered more stable and rocksolid, just wish a day comes when v have a super stable android version!!
This happened to me too a couple of times. I'm on doc rom. 9.66

Please explain 4G to me ? I'm stumped.

Here's the thing.
My NS4G when it's connected to 4G is great.
However, when it goes idle (which is most of the time if I'm not using it), I'm not connected to the internet at all. No puch notifications. No Gtalk messages. No Facebook updates. Nothing.
And it only wakes up when I wake it up.
this all sorts of defeats the object of having a contantly on connection, and I don't get the benefit of 4G, unless it's literally only to be used when I'm surfing the web ? Is that all it's good for on this phone, and the reaosn I'm paying another 10 bucks ?
Is there any way to increase the tine it takes to go idle ?
Hmmm... it should just be idle when no data is needed. We had another report from another user of the same problem. Can you send email to yourself and wait 10 min to make sure it doesn't work?

That is exactly what I've been doing all day. No emails. Gtalk goes offline. all get delivered when I connect by browsing or opening facebook. anything that required data.
Hmm there was a setting for something like that. I used it on my evo to conserve juice I just had to check my phone if expecting something important

Look in the questions section for thread called 4g idle. That's the same issue.

Text messages randomly/automatically resending when phone is restarted

Did a search and didnt find anything. Im using the stock messaging app and am not rooted. This is very annoying. Doesnt happen everytime but most of the time when i restart the phone, itll resend a message i already sent.
This morning was weird because my phone was off over night and when i turned it on it did the same thing. First time it ever did it with a regular power on. Any ideas how to make this stop?
I have had that happen also, not every time time. I'm rooted, but a friend of mine is not and its happened to her also.

Whatsapp issue

Hey guys, sometimes Whatsapp messages show up late. (ive noticed this happens only when screen off)
For example, when I unlock phone, after several minutes I get the Whatsapp notification, I go in, but message shows it was recieved 5-10-15 minutes ago.. Sometimes the clock shows when I want to reply..
No problems with screen on.
Any clue? Sync is on
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
It happens in both, wifi or Mobile data.. So service provider is dismissed..
I think there must be a config

Most of the time this is because the Servers cant handle the amount of messages being send via WhatsApp. So there is nothing you can really do about it.

This never happened with my s2, which I had until Saturday.. that's why I think is something with the N4 config
I noticed this past Saturday problems sending and receiving messages via Whatsapp, on both iPhone and Nexus 4, but not via stock MMS apps. So it appears that there was an issue on Whatsapp side.
I'm noticing the same thing on my nexus 4 and I'm pretty sure it's not caused by traffic load on the whatsapp servers. On my GSII, messages came through straight away when the phone was sleeping.
On my nexus 4, if the screen is off, messages don't come through until I turn the screen on.
It seems to me that Android 4.2 handles wakelocks differently to ensure the device sleeps without interruption. That's great for battery life, but seems to impairing the ability to receive IMs.

Exactly... It's annoying, since whatsapp is not catalogued as a battery drain or similar..

not a full fix
i tried the new app and while it does drastically reduce the delay its still not perfect
i still experience about 1-2 minutes delay in receiving messages
in any case big improvement
