I recently installed the patch that changes to registry so that automatic delivery reports are requested every time an SMS is sent. However, it seemed quite temperamental at first (some reports received and some not - even though the message had been delivered). Now it seems like it just won't work at all. I've been sending messages and getting replies but no delivery reports. I've checked and the box is stilled ticked.
Anyone else had this problem?
cheers
happens for me at random too, I just dont pay attention to it anymore, it does suck though
Today after a week of silence my wiz rang and there were 10x new messages yep 10x !
The first 2 came through ok but then I got the message "please hold the line"
After that have been unable to get the rest of my messages. Everytime I ring 901 I get the same message repeated .
I contacted o2 for 50 minutes( Nat call rate)and they were useless .They told me that this week o2 have had major service faults but they were sorted now ?!
anyone know how I can get my messages? I am about ready to cancel my contract due to non performance of contract.
bump
I've noticed an incredibly bad bug lately that has had me look at my DHD as a very small internet tablet. I'm no longer receiving notifications when text messages are received at least 50% of the time. This has only started happening since the last OTA update but it's so bad that I'm very close to switching back to my Milestone.
I have notifications enabled, audio notification selected and yet when I went to send a text message before starting this post I noticed one unread message sitting there from yesterday! Yesterday I noticed it was roughly one notification received every two text messages. I don't have to explain how bad this bug is and I'm hoping that someone else can at least confirm similar experiences. I was so happy when I got my DHD but after seeing the amount of what I would class as critical bugs in the software that mostly point to the notification system I'm really annoyed. What's the point of a phone that can't reliably inform you when you get a text message / something else that sends a notification? I could get a £20 phone that would do this without fail, I expect more from a phone that retails at over £400!
There's already a thread about this. Happened in the 1.72 OTA upgrade. Apparently HTC are working on it - but who knows how long that will take?
That being said, when the proximity sensor issue happened it was only a couple of weeks til a fix happened...fingers crossed...
In the meantime, use a 3rd party SMS client or if you're rooted, downgrade back down to 1.32
Hey man not to sound rude, but this is a known issue here, and i fear is even on the same page as this topic. Anyway, not to poopoo and run away the "accepted" solution atm is to install Go messenger or handcent, and then disable Sense notifications for SMS and use that until HTC sort out the OTA update.
Sonnuva...... I searched but didn't check the known issues. Sorry about that, mods please feel free to close / delete the thread and slap / kick me.
I am not getting delivery reports on text messages. I have delivery report requests turned on. Status changes from sent to pending. Any one else having same problem?
Recently, my Galaxy S5 will refuse to send a SMS unless I reboot the phone, this happens at least once/twice a day.
The text message will constantly display the round spinning sending icon, then a notification will say text failed to send (resending doesn't work)
S5 is on Three, not rooted - Three sent a SMS to me a few weeks ago addressing this issue and that simply updating the phone would resolve it... except my phone was already up to date.
Is this an issue with my phone or should I contact Three about this? - (try and demand an early upgrade with 8 months left lol)
Many thanks
