im using o2 payasyougo internet service and i am not able to connect to the internet, can anybod please help me out by give me instructions e.g:
goto menu ....
thanks
You need to manually input APN settings in the mobile networks section of the settings. I don't have my phone on me ATM so just go into settings and find the appropriate section. It isn't difficult to do.
A simple google search yielded this page for your carrier's settings:

Re: About to Purchase an XDA Exac: email setup w/ GPRS?

Hey folks...
I'm about to purchase an XDA Exec. I've seen most of my questions answered in various places on the net including this one.
The ONLY question I haven't seen addressed directly is the following:
I have a tmobile account which pushes my email to my phone. I understand that I insert my sim into the XDA Exec, but do I have to input any settings to grab my email from tmobile's servers so that it "lands" in my XDA?
Thanks in advance. I didnt see anything specific about this...

Yes you do. O2 sets up Exec to work with O2... so you need to get your settings for t-mobile to make email work.

Those were other comments that I commented out...
Thanks for the 411 and I appreciate the assistance as I am a novice at this.
1) Assuming I fresh and empty XDA and assuming that I start w/ the start button, where exactly do I apply these settings?
2) Are these also the settings for web surfing via gprs?
Thanks
1) Start > Settings > Connections > Connections > Manage existing connections/add connection (in the top part) > select modem Cellular Line (GPRS,3G) > enter APN > Finish
2) yes

This is EXACTLY what I have done.
I then start pocket IE and get the following message:
"The current connection cannot be used for your request. Please end the current connection and try again."
Are you on the phone while you are trying to connect to GPRS? If you are this is why you are getting this message. I have no issues with my JasJar and GPRS. I am using the O2 rom which is much better than the Imate. I suggest hard booting your device, and not using any of the O2 garbage. Unlock the extended rom and just run the bluetooth patch and dialer cab. Then re install any apps you want. Have fun!

Thanks for your remind.
I have sent the O2 GRPS sucessfuly, but I lost the setting of "MY ISP", which make me cannot got online by activesyne and PC.
I need the setting of My ISP, which i could not find in past messages.
grps settings == my isp settings
you pretty much just need the
access point name
and depending on the network username and password
those are typed out in many many many posts if you do the search

I bought an Htc magic today and I am having trouble trying to find out how to disable the automatic connection to internet by GPRS. Can somebody help me?
Hello. Good question. Took me a little to find it. I actually have a widget that I can turn the GRS off and on anytime. Its a Battery Widget. Very handy. However to answer your issue from the dashboard "homescreen"
click MENU > SETTINGS > SECURITY&LOCATION > Then uncheck Enable GPS
lol zelda, not GPS, GPRS....2 totally different animals.
cunha11 i would delete out your apn info. it can be found under
settings-> wireless and networks --> mobile networks --> access point names
some people have reported that apn info will get re-filled in upon reboot but i think that may be carrier dependent.
so just click on your access point and delete all the fields available..
give that a shot
edit: forgot there is an app called apndroid in the market, give that a try
LOL sorry, my bad. I misread that. I read these forums at work in between Service requests. HEH. looks like he got it though.
Ok so I downloaded hypersensedroid which i love but the thing is that my 3G internet does not work at all. Is there a possible solution to that?
Check your network settings and APN settings. If APN is blank, you need to fill with t-mobile data settings. search forum for settings. I know the network setting begins with epc.tmobile.com.
Search is a great invention!

install the connection wizard and you are good to go.
and by the way, yes the Questions in the Q&A section.
what the hell is connection wizard and where can i find it? Same issue here.
you look like you need the APN (access point name). To get it you have to call your provider.
for example my APN is "internet" or "vodafoninternet"
after geting it on phone go to "settings" > "cellular" > "edit apn"
good luck
im having the same problem and when i called tmobile about it they said it cant be the apn because i dont have an iphone. please someone help!!
